Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ So Blue ❯ Truth and Lies ( Chapter 36 )
~~~~```` Chapter 36
Bra tucked her lavender hair behind her ear, typing faster over the keyboard. How many times had she done this when she still cared about her heritage? How many times had she connected to Earth's satellite and watched the people known as humans go about their lives with no worries, and no bothers? She couldn't have counted if she tried.
Trunks watched her with interest for some time now, his eyes flicking to the clock. She's been at it for ten minutes now. His nerves were getting shorter with each tick. He could feel Klooer's power encompass him, seducing his senses so he would return as soon as possible. He had every reason to go back but first he wanted to know what he had felt for the brunette in the picture was true.
He produced the wallet from his pocket, flipping it open only to watch a line of soft plastic roll out hanging only by the seams of the leather. His eyes scanned the thing awkwardly finding more pictures in line. He turned it upright finding one of him and the creature beaten on the ground, smiling happily with arms over one another's shoulders. He felt nothing however for this. It could have easily been someone else and he wouldn't believe in anything till proof was right before him.
Trunks's eyes scanned down the transparent covering before finding the one he wanted. He ripped the picture out and stuffed it in his pocket before tearing the rest of the pictures from the seams and threw it over his shoulder. He turned the leather square this way and that, jumping when stuff fell to his lap. He lifted the green paper that had numbers in each corner to his nose, sniffing before tasting the weird substance. However the taste was so foul he burned it quickly.
"Shit!" Trunks brought his blue eyes up to the princess finding her standing, her hands slammed on the desk before her. She suddenly turned to him, her lavender hair falling in her face. Trunks stalled for only a second to think how beautiful she was. And how much like him she resembled. "I need Goten."
"What for?" He growled threateningly hating that she was actually demanding something from him.
"I need a number and he is the only one that might know it."
"Why?"
"So I can connect with your mate."
Trunks's piercing eyes slit trying to detect any false motives but only seconds past before he bit out, "Fine."
She quickly went to the unconscious creature kneeling down gently, touching his bare shoulder, seemingly the only spot that wasn't covered in blood or welts. She leaned down kissing his bloody cheek, ignoring the growl from the man behind her and gently whispered in his ear, "Goten I need you to wake up." She smiled when he groaned in protest but his eyes soon opened to her plea finding her gorgeous blue eyes.
"Bra?" He ground out, coughing horribly at the dryness of his throat. Goten suddenly stalled remembering just why his body was killing him, "Are you Okay? Where is he? Are you hurt?"
Bra smiled, holding his struggling, protesting body down, calming him, "I'm fine, love. Everything's going to be fine. But I need you to give me something. I have to prove to Trunks that his mate is alive but to do that I need a number to contact her living quarters. Do you know that number?"
Goten dropped his head back, energy all ready leaving his destroyed body. "What kind of number?" He whispered, his lids faltered but his mate shook him gently.
"You need to stay awake, mate. Now think. I do not know what type of numbers you humans have but here on Vegeta-sei we have a call number where we are able to contact people at their homes. Do you have anything like that?"
He breathed heavily through his open mouth, loving the darkness of his lids. "A…" He sighed, "A phone number?"
"Sure." Bra cringed having no idea what a phone was. "What is her phone number?"
His head shook lazily to the side, "I can't remember."
Bra hauled his head up, getting him to open his eyes weakly. "Goten stop, come on. I need you to stay awake. If you can't remember we are both going to Klooer, we will be killed, Goten. Now think. What is her phone number?"
"I don't…" His black orbs rolled in the back of his head.
"No, don't you dare." She leaned down quickly capturing his lips in hers tightly with a kiss. He reacted only upon instinct, almost as if drinking her energy into his own form. He went to deepen however she pulled away, "Tell me the number."
He panted in his desired slumber wanting to bask in the pleasure of unconsciousness but his beautiful mate stared pleadingly at him denying him his sweet release. "218. 558. 730" His head fell hard on the tiled floor, out cold. Bra smiled, kissing his lips in thanks before jumping up to her chair and quickly typing in the number.
A ringing sounded causing both unknowing creatures to jump back from the computers. "What did you do?" Trunks asked in panic.
"I don't know."
"If this is a siren I swear--"
"No, I wouldn't do that. I don't know what it is."
"Hello?" An image suddenly popped up on the large screen before them. Both their impossible blue flipped to the screen. A large blond with hazel eyes greeted them with a smile. However her features drastically widened when her eyes landed on the male. "Is that you, Arcadia? Oh, boy you idiot! Do you know how worried Seneca has been! I swear I don't know what she sees in you! You're such an asshole! Never call! Treat her like shit!" All though at the end she smiled brightly and winked. "You're still hot though. Let me get her." Brother and sister turned an awkward glance to each other, shrugging in their confusion.
"Arcadia?" that whisper. That voice. Trunks snapped his view to the screen; mouth opened, eyes wide, finding that beautiful female upon the screen. He stumbled forward taking in her heavenly, glistening green eyes and brunette curly hair that shaped her face. Tears fell down her pale cheeks, her face so depressed, causing Trunks' own pain to intensify at the pitiful sight. "Oh, Kami, you're alive. Thank Kami." She whimpered wiping her falling tears however many quickly replaced them. She stared at him for what seemed like an eternity before her crying calmed and anger overtook them. "Four months, Arcadia! Were you so busy you forgot about me? Couldn't even pick up a phone to call me! Goten has! Why couldn't you! Say something." Trunks fell into a chair, a smaller screen of her now directly in front of him. He leaned forward till his eyes were only inches away. His shaking fingers touched the screen as if he could feel her skin, wishing he was, imagining he was. "Why are you looking at me like that?" Her anger now unsure. "Are you Okay?" Her tears started again. "Are you coming back now?---And who is that girl!" Her green eyes darted possessively to the woman in the back. Bra rolled her eyes at the huge image. "I swear Arcadia if you cheated on me, I'll never forgive you! Especially with an alien!"
Bra scoffed, slamming her balled fists on her hips. "For your information, I am his sister!" Bra replied smugly.
The woman's green eyes widened and quickly went back to her mate. "Your sister? I thought you said they all had died?" She waited only for a moment. "Say something. You're scaring me."
His lips shook, mouth suddenly dry. He swallowed hard. "Se…Seneca?"
"Don't tell me you forgot me. You do wear that ring for a reason, Arcadia." She paused. "You still do have the ring don't you?"
The ring? On the necklace! He dropped his head to his chest, hands digging out the necklace that had always been around his neck for one reason or other. He looked at it now like he always had before lying on the bed in Klooer's mansion, trying to think of the reason he had the jewel. But now it stuck out like it had always been that obvious. She had given this to him. So he wouldn't forget.
"Arcadia?" His blue eyes flew to hers. "Are you coming home?"
"Home?"
"Yeah. To Earth. I've missed you Arcadia. I don't care if you haven't found your family yet. I want you to come home. I'm your family. You said so yourself. You don't need them. It's too dangerous. And I want to marry you before I'm an old maid." She added with a sad giggle.
"Marry?" Arcadia shook his head, not understanding.
"What's wrong with you, baby? Are you okay? Please tell me what's wrong." He shook his head; having nothing he could tell her. "Arcadia, I've known you for five years. I think I can tell when there's something wrong. But fine, if you don't want to tell me, I won't push. How's your bother? Well, I mean adoptive…I mean, how's Goten? Last time he called he was on a planet called… Ve…V-something and he seemed pretty obsessed with this supposed goddess who was said to look exactly like…" Her green eyes drifted to the woman who was by a creature on the floor. "Guess it was her." Wanting to rid herself of the embarrassment, she quickly changed the subject. "How are your parents?"
Arcadia held the diamond in his hand, gazing upon her. "Seneca. Has anything happened to Earth while I've been gone?"
"Well after you were broken from contact with me, Goten and your parents left with these newcomer aliens but like not even a week after another ship landed. They blew up your mountain, killed a few people but then they left. Where are you? What has happened to you over these months? Your eyes, they look…different. Are you hurt?"
He smiled softly at her panic. Trunks was quick to wipe the stray tear from his cheek, blushing at his weak appearance, "Everything's okay, Seneca." He swallowed hard.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. Just talk to me. Tell me what you miss."
"Are you going to come home now?"
His stomach clenched in his agony. Tears all ready springing from his eyes but he blinked them away. "Soon." He chocked out.
"Promise me."
He chuckled, quickly swiping the betraying tear. "I promise."
"Arcadia?"
"Call me Trunks."
Her dark brows knitted but figuring it out she nodded. "I love you, Trunks."
His smile fell from his lips, and the guilt from all his unknown betrayal pulled tears, spilling now uncontrolled over his rims and his fingers once again stroked the screen. "Oh, gods, Seneca, I'm so sorry." He sobbed out.
"For what?" Tears building in her own, never seeing such a sight as painful as this.
Trunks chocked out, holding the ring tight in his palm, pressing it to his heart, "I'm sorry. I didn't know. I couldn't remember. I still don't remember."
"Trunks what are you talking about? It's okay. Oh Kami, Trunks, if you cry I'll cry."
He took a few deep breaths feeling his own heart falling to pieces. But he needed to gain back his composure. He couldn't explain anything to her right now. He just needed her. "I love you, Seneca." He whimpered through shaking lips, however upon seeing her smile, his last tear fell from his chin.
Before any reply could be spoken on Seneca's part, she was suddenly erased from the screen and replaced with the purple smirk that lid upon chuckling lips. Trunks eyes widened, taking in the whole view of his master. He stumbled out of his chair, his hands crawling on the floor to rise him up over to his sister's side. "Such a disappointment. I had such high hopes for you young Prince. But you betrayed me. I see you received some help. Princess Bra, always a delight."
"Get yourself killed." She hissed causing quick laughter to fall on Klooer's lips.
"Your mother's tongue. Not surprising. Tell me Princess, what is it like looking upon your brother, upon your enemy?"
"You will not get away with this, Klooer, my father--"
"Will be dead soon enough and you will belong to me along with your bitch of mother. Now, Prince Trunks gather your luscious sibling and that fool on the floor and bring them to me."
"Never. I am staying--"
"No. No." He sighed though with pleasure. "It doesn't work like that, Prince Trunks. When I tell you, you belong to me. You belong to me. And you will do as I say. See I know this because right now I have that Port Station outside of Earth's solar system ready to blow the planet to pieces. Including your precious mate. See maybe the next time you try to contact other worlds, you make sure they are not in my territory."
"Bastard."
"I will see you in five minutes, once you have finished with your duty. Prince, and of course Princess, five minutes." He chuckled evilly before clicking off.
Seneca's wide green eyes appeared on the screen, "What happened?"
Trunks clenched his teeth, his nails digging into his palms, power bulging his muscles but he kept the bliss of his power down, knowing nothing could be done for now. Hearing his mate's voice caused his eyes to quickly wide, however this time with no kindness. "Seneca, I have to go."
"But Trunks I--"
"Please Seneca, Let me go. I have to do one last thing."
"When are you coming home?"
His head bowed and he stepped to the controls again, his finger resting upon a button, looking at her gorgeous features one last time. He smiled much against his raging emotions. "I'm sorry. If I break my promise." He pushed it quickly not having the strength to hear one word of protest. His fingers flew across the keyboard bringing up an open file and typing in a four-digit word and sighed in dismay when all of the electricity flickered from existence. Emergency lights flashed on however, Trunks felt the power of the shield dwindle. His job was down. Now he could return to his master. A sudden dread filled him.
When he turned, she all ready knew what he was going to say. His eyes dark in the little light and clouded by misty tears, just the same as hers. Her body shook in her own fright, death did nothing to scare her, only the thought of meeting the creature face to face that had watched her growth from computer screens and licked his lips with each new curve added to her form. Her features scrunched in her trepidation, tears falling over his cheeks. "I understand." She swallowed hard, wiping the liquid from her face then holding out her shaking hands.
Trunks smeared his tears on his sleeve, picking up the recently detached cuffs off the floor and grasped her small wrists locking it around them. The fact that she was his sister did not make him feel anything. He was numb from Klooer's betrayal. Revenge ached inside of his Sayian blood. "I'm sorry" He whispered, his voice emotionless so much like his father.
She smiled softly, shaking her head, "You have yet to meet father. He will save us before Klooer can do anything."
"Klooer is stronger, how can he?"
"Father has the will that surpasses any one in the universe. He will get us back alive. And your memory will return and we will one day look upon each other as brother and sister."
Trunks dropped his head to his chest, his lavender hair falling before his face, "I wish I could remember."
Bra leaned up on her toes to kiss the top of his forehead, getting his attention quickly. "No worries big brother." She giggled at his surprised eyes. "It is so awkward that I have just met you and you are all ready so old. When this battle is over, and time has been given to us. We will be as one. You and I." He nodded dumbly learning to love that candid smile on her lips and the innocence of her glittering eyes. "Now let us go before Klooer gets upset and I loose my nerve."
