Gohan awoke the next morning feeling refreshed, but somewhat on edge. The saya-jin made his way downstairs to the kitchen where Chichi was cleaning.
"Morning mom," he said as he sat down at the table. Goten and Sato were still asleep, being as it was still dark outside.
"Good morning, Gohan," Chichi replied, filling a pot with water. "Did you sleep well?"
Gohan nodded. "Yes ma'am." He looked around. "So… is Videl up yet?"
"Yes, she's right-"
"Here," called a voice. Gohan turned toward the living room to see Videl standing in the doorway. His mouth dropped to the floor as he looked her over. She was wearing a light lavender Chinese-style dress, yellow baggy pants, and black slippers.
Chichi clapped her hands together and sighed. "Don't you look nice, Videl?"
Videl smirked and looked at Gohan. "Your mother took my clothes. She gave me this to wear."
Gohan frowned as he looked at his mother. "Mom, you have GOT to stop stealing other people's stuff!"
Chichi put her hands on her hips. "It's not stealing! Her clothes were dirty! I had to wash them from all of the training you two did yesterday!" She looked at Videl. "By the way, dear, they're drying outside-so you'll know when you go to leave. Oh, and don't worry about that outfit. Just bring it back next time you visit, okay dear?"
Videl smiled as she sat down by Gohan. "I will. Thanks Chichi."
"Oh! Before I forget…" Chichi handed her a medium-sized white box. "I found these in your shorts."
"My capsules… Thank you." Videl opened the container, it revealing several small shells with the Capsule Corp logo printed on them.
Gohan sighed with relief. 'Great. She has her capsules. I had forgotten! This is perfect…'
Videl turned to Gohan and laughed at the look on his face. She noticed the clock on the wall and stood up. "Gohan, we should leave early if we want to get to my house. We can sneak some snacks there."
Gohan looked at his mom, who nodded. "Okay. Let's go then."
The two teens got up and made their way out the back door. The sun rose over the horizon, illuminating the trees and hills. Videl looked around and breathed in the fresh air.
"So… where exactly does your property end?"
Gohan scratched his head. "Uh… actually… our nearest neighbors live twenty miles away so technically the whole mountain…"
Videl gasped. "Wow. And people think I have it good. I just have a huge house that's snuggly fit within our neighborhood. So what? You guys have a much smaller home, but you have a whole mountain to yourself! I would love to live in a place like this. It's so quiet and peaceful, not at all like the city."
She walked over to a nearby tree and gathered the wet clothes that hung from the lowest limb. She then took out a red capsule and threw it to the ground. It popped open revealing Videl's crimson aircar. She got in, putting the clothes in the back, and looked at Gohan. "Well?"
Gohan jumped, startled. "Ah coming!" He got in and laughed, giving her his grin as they lifted into the sky and then sped away.

Crystelle stretched as she emerged from the study. She stopped as she nearly ran into Valerie, the first maid of the house.
"What are you doing here?" she snapped.
"Master Hercule called me to come back to work late yesterday," the brunette, Valerie, replied, eyeing the blonde woman before her carefully. "Might I ask what you were doing in there?"
Crystelle glared. "None of your damn business!" She pushed past Valerie and stomped off.
Valerie frowned, feeling her stomach flop. She entered the study, seeing everything in place. Curious, she went to Hercule's personal desk and opened the top left drawer. Inside, she found his small emergency bank that was locked. She took opened it with her key, and found the box completely empty.

Videl stopped the car a few feet from her home. She stood and motioned for Gohan to get out. As soon as he emerged, she pressed the shut button and waited as the car returned to capsule form.
Gohan glanced down at the small young woman as the approached the gates to her mansion. "Why did we stop here?"
Videl peered around the gate, seeing a few lights on. "We're sneaking in, silly. I don't want father OR Crystelle for that matter to know I'm home… I'm in an ok mood, if you get me and I don't want it ruined. Life is hard enough as it is." She sighed. "Maybe after I spend a day at school I can take it. Besides, won't it be fun to sneak in?"
'Wow she really is adventurous,' Gohan thought.'Well I guess I should have figured that out from the first day I met her…' He shrugged. "O-Oh… yeah…"
Videl shook the spiky-topped gates, her face twisting. "Darn, they're locked! Hmm…"
Gohan stepped forward. "Don't you have a key?"
Videl crossed her arms. "You think dad let me keep the keys to the ALL locks around here after I got grounded?? I don't think so. I'm lucky he let me keep the keys to my car!" She laughed. "Hey, let's climb over the fence."
Gohan nodded. "I'll go first…" He gazed at the huge mansion. "Security system?"
Videl raised an eyebrow. "I know the code," she replied, "And what happened to ladies first?"
Gohan laughed nervously. "Well I'll have to pull you over! Heh heh!" He climbed over the wall so fast he fell and landed on his head. He sat up, holding it. "Good thing I have such a hard head…"
"Gohan? Gohan come on!"
Gohan shot up and laughed. "Coming!" He floated up but, upon reaching the top, grabbed a hold of it and climbed the rest of the way up. He held his hand out to Videl, who grabbed it with both of hers as he pulled her up with ease. Videl climbed up and latched onto Gohan, expecting him to lower both of them down. The saya-jin blushed, but didn't have long to because his foot slipped from the glossy wall, sending both of them crashing to the ground.
Videl opened her eyes, her body filled with pain, and wondered what the heck was so darn heavy! Her heart stopped when she saw his dark eyes just inches from hers. Time seemed to stop as both teens stared at each other.
Gohan gulped, nervous, but amazed at the panting goddess beneath him.
'Now THIS is what I'm talking about!' his saya-jin side thought. 'Look at that face! She's not resisting! Nail her!'
After that thought entered his mind, Gohan yelped and jumped to his feet, his back to Videl.
"S-s-s-s-sorry!" he croaked.
Videl stared at him as she tried to catch her breath. 'M-My heart's pounding… Why did I get that rush of excitement like that? …It… it can't be because of …Gohan… could it?' Teal flashed in her mind, increasing the feeling. '…I feel the same way about the Gold Fighter…' She laughed mentally. 'It's got to be because they are guys! I-I've never… T-they're just guys… that's all. Incredibly great guys…' She watched as Gohan turned to face her finally, giving her the Son ™ grin. 'Gohan is so sweet… He makes me feel… happy and… the Gold Fighter… he makes me feel happy too. …I…I'm so confused! There's just something about Gohan that reminds me of him… What is it?' She shook the feeling away and got up shakily.
"W-Whatever," she replied, brushing herself off. "L-Let's go ahead… to the back…"
Gohan nodded and followed after her, just as confused as she.

"Good morning sir." A young woman with brown, back-length hair around the age of twenty-eight entered the lounge, smiling when she met the face of her employer.
"Mornin' Valerie," the champ replied, motioning her to join him on the sectioned furniture.
Valerie looked down at her soft hands. "Have you heard anything on Videl? When we last talked yesterday you had mentioned that you had not heard from her."
"Videl stayed at a boy's house yesterday."
Valerie looked over at him. "…Would this boy's name be by any chance Son Gohan?"
Hercule glanced at her. "Ah? You know that punk?"
Valerie laughed. "Well… I've heard about him from Videl. Funny, she hasn't mentioned him being a punk. She talks about him a lot… and also that mysterious fighter."
The champ snorted. "Oh, you mean that fake super hero sissy with the spray painted hair?! HA! I bet! She probably talks about how stupid he is! And scrawny! Gold Fighter… what a name! Ha ha ha, ha ha!"
Valerie shook her head. "Videl says he is quite amazing. She claims he has saved her life many times."
"Yeah well. I'm more worried about this Gohan boy! His mother sounds like a really mean witch! She blew me out over the phone just for calling to see if Videl was there!" And in the tiniest, quietest voice, he said, "She scared me."
"Huh?"
Hercule laughed nervously. "Just kidding!" He stood up and put his hands on his hips. "Nothing frightens the champ!"
Valerie sweatdropped as he did 'his special laugh.'
"Uh… sir, what I really came to talk to you about is… um…" she trailed off as he quieted down and returned to his place on the couch. "…I bumped into Crystelle when she came out of the study this morning… She seemed quite irritated when I asked her what she was doing in there… and… well…" She breathed hard. "Sir, I think she is stealing from you. I found your emergency money box empty."
Hercule thought for a moment. "Hmm… Well I didn't exactly tell her she could use the money in there… I'll have to ask her about it. Doh I'm sure she needed it for something important! Besides, I have enough money to buy Eurasia!" He laughed again.
Valerie sighed. "Yes sir… I'll go get started on my chores then." She got up and made her way to the door.
"Valerie…"
The woman stopped and turned to look at him.
"I'm glad you're back," he said, his smile genuine.
Valerie smiled too, a slight flush on her cheeks. "Me too."

"OUCH! Gohan!" Videl griped as she hit the concrete floor of her father's bedroom balcony with quite a force. "What do you think I am? A sack of potatoes?!"
"Sorry!" the saya-jin whined as he pulled himself over the side and climbed to his feet. "I just don't want to get caught!"
Videl punched a few buttons on the security device attached to the wall and waited. "Gohan, it's my house. It's okay." When the little green light lit up the keypad, Videl opened the sliding doors quietly. The room was dark and there was no sign of life. She sighed with relief.
"Good. Dad is already up… which means SHE is too…" she growled. "Oh well. I just want to get my things and get out of here… C'mon, my room's just down the hall." She motioned for Gohan to follow her as she stepped in the room, the expensive, well taken care of carpet crunching under their feet.
Gohan noticed a door to the right as Videl led him through the large bedroom. He looked around the darkened room, barely being able to make out a huge bed and many pieces of priceless furniture. All of a sudden, he plowed into Videl's backside, nearly knocking both of them down for the second time that morning.
"Hey… why'd you…"
The knob on the door that led to the hall turned. Both teens' eyes widened, sending them into panic. Gohan remembered the other door and grabbed his companion, throwing both of them into the room. Videl breathed hard.
"That was close," she said, standing.
Gohan stood also, looking around the room. The only light in the room came from a small oval window close to the very tall ceiling. A huge Jacuzzi was situated in the corner. "Wow, now this is what I call a bathroom," the saya-jin whispered, amazed at the royalties in the room.
"Yeah… My father spent big on this house as you can tell… Oh I hope that's not him in there…" Videl replied, putting her ear to the door. She could hear the soft patter of feet coming closer.
"Gohan, someone's coming! Let's hide!" she cried, grabbing the demi saya-jin's hand, leading him around the corner of the room to white doors. She opened them, revealing a small room that held many bottles and incense on shelves. It was big enough for just two people. Both teens squeezed in, and if anyone could see them, they would laugh at the way they were stuck in the closet.
Gohan blew Videl's hair out of his face. "Why are we hiding again?" he whispered.
"Cause I don't feel like being yelled at this morning," she replied. "Dad would throttle me if he found out you came here! Then I'd be grounded forever! Besides… Crystelle would side with him… and it'd just be another battle I would lose to her and… I just can't take that right now." She squirmed around in the tight space. "And would you relocate your knee?"
"Sorry!"
The teens became quiet when the bathroom door creaked open. Heels clicked on the hard floor, coming closer with each step. Gohan and Videl gasped silently when a figure appeared in front of the closet.
