Pan was running down the canyon. She stopped to catch her breath. Then she squated, and tried to fight back the tears. She missed her Mom, and Dad. But most of all, she missed her Grandpa.
Pookey hopped over to Pan, and put a paw on her knee. Pan looked at him, and hugged him.
"What's with Herro anyway? What did I ever do to him?" Pan asked Pookey. Pookey sighed.
"Master... he, has had a hard life. And the only way he knows how to deal with life, is acting tough." Pookey said looking away from Pan. Pan blinked at him.
"Are you lying to me?" She asked frowning. Pookey looked at her and sweat dropped.
"Heh, n-no..." He said blushing a little. Pan glared at him. Pookey started to sweat under the glare of death.
"Pookey..." Pan started calmly.
"Y-yes?" He asked, fear showing in his voice.
"TELL ME!!" She screamed, shaking Pookey.
"N-no! No! Herro will try to kill me if he finds out!" Pookey yelled. Pan grinned.
"Who says he has to find out?" She asked smiling smugly. Pookey sweat dropped, then sighed.
"Fine, you win. But Herro must never know about this conversation." Pookey said seriously. Pan nodded. Pookey coughed to clear his throught. "Now, when Herro was a child, he had no friends, and no family. Everyone was afraid of him, they thought he was strange. Herro grew up on the streets, with no home. Then... one day... a demon came. The demon was destroying everything in sight. And when everyone in the small town was killed, Herro was spared. The demon sensed Herros powerfull sadness and bitterness. And the demon took Herro, and started to train him, as her apprentice." Pookey told Pan. Pan knew Herro had no parents, but no friends? No home? Pan wasn't expecting that.
"The demon was a woman?" She asked. Pookey nodded.
"Herro, was taught how to fight, in a differnt way than you. And his first lesson, was one he'd never forget. Herro was told to kill a small family of four." Pookey said darkly. Pan gasped. "At first, Herro refused. But the demon seduced his mind. Herros mind was being used against his will, The demon took his sadness, and turned it to anger, then hate. What makes them so special? How come they get everything you never had? Questions like these flooded Herros thoughts. The growing anger, the hate, Herro had so much of it growing inside of him, his whole life. Then Herro turned into what you call, a 'Super Saiyen'. The demon nearly destroyed Herro true self. And replaced him, with a blood thirsty, angery, personallity. Herro walked to to the town where the family resied, and instead of killing them, he killed everyone in small town. He had blood splatered on him, at the age of nine." Pookey said darkly. "His training, was tocherous. And left scars all over his body. His mind, and sanity, gone. Completly envolped in darkness and hate."
Pan was in shock. Herro had killed people, when he was a kid. Pan thought what she was doing when she was nine. Talking to friends, going to the movies, watching t.v., and playing video games. Herro didn't have any of that. While she was talking to friends, Herro was killing people. While she ate dinner with her family, Herro was being torchered. While Pan, and Goku fought over food, Herro was losing his mind in his hate.
Pan was silent. "W-what happened? Herro.... is he still under controll of his hate?" Pan asked.
Pookey sighed. "I'm afraid, that Herro has two people inside of him. The tough, stupid, arrogant, Herro on the outside. But inside, the seconed Herro is still there. Herro is constantly debating with himself, on what he should do, and what he should think. He was probolly arguing with himself, on what to think of Alexa, and Arnold. I can tell you, Herro liked those two. But the dark Herro probolly won the argument." Pookey said, looking at the sky.
"And what happened to the demon" Pan asked.
"Herro killed her. More than likly in his own fury. And without the demon manipulating Herros thoughts, his sanity slowly began to come back, and his hate began to fade. But it's still there. You saw it, when he went super saiyen. That visious, cold, blood thirsty look in his eyes. That was Herro once, and it's a part of him still." Pookey said.
"No!" Pan yelled standing up. "Herro is not like that! That monster was not Herro!" Pan yelled, tears starting to form in her eyes. Pookey blinked. Pan turned around, and began to run back to the cave, with Herro buzzing around in her head. That cocky, stupid, hot-headed, shy, Herro. At of all of the things Herro was, he was not a monster.
Pan stopped when she heard her name. Pan listened carfully. Then she heard it.
"Pan!" The voice called. it sounded like Herro.
"Pan! Where are you?!" The voice called. Pan rushed where Herros voice was coming from. Then she saw him. Herro was looking for Pan.
"Pan! Where are you, stupid!?" He yelled. "She didn't get attacked by somthing again did she?" He asked himself. Herro cursed. "That idiot!" He said turning around. Then Herro saw Pan. Sweating and panting from running. "Pan!" He said running to her. "Where have you been?!" He asked angerily. Then he blushed. "N-n-not like I was worried about you, or anything..." He said looking at somthing other than Pan.
Tears rolled down Pans face. This was the real Herro. Pan hugged Herro, shocking the young saiyen boy. Herro blushed deeply.
"Pan... w-wha?" He asked.
"Don't call me stupid, stupid." She said quietly in his chest. Herro didn't know what to do. So he just stood there, blushing.
Pookey was watching the whole scene in the darkness.
'Pan... you will be the one to save Herro.' He thought.
