Pan and Herro walked across the stone floor, going deeper and deeper into the temple. Ahead was a stone hallway, and at its end was another smaller gate. Herro pushed it open, and the pair walked in. after they walked in the door slammed shut immediately, covering everything in darkness.
"Ah... damn." Herro grunted.
"Herro, somthing's crawling..." Pan whispered. Herro listened closly, and he started to hear a strange sound. As he was listening he felt somthing start to crawl up his legs. It felt like...
Herro gathered chi into his palm and brought forth a light, only to see that the whole room they were in was covered in bugs. The floor, ceiling, walls, and everything else had bugs all over it.
"Okay... remain calm Pan." Herro told her. Pan was (like everything else) was covered in bugs, and she had a face like she was about to cry. Pan scrunched her face trying to think of somthing else. But her thoughts were interupted when a large bug landed on her face. Pans eyes widened, and she screamed at the top of her lungs.
"KAME-"
"Wait!"
"HAME-"
"Calm down!"
"HA!!" Pan screamed, releasing a bright blue light into the room, burning everything (including Herro) to ash's. When the light faded, the bugs were all gone. Pan wiped the sweat off her forhead, in relife.
"Thank god! That was a horrible expeirence..." Pan looked around the small stone room for a seconed. "Herro? Where are you?" Pan heard a growling noise came from the wall in front of her. Then Herro stepped forward revealing himself. He was scorched black, and had splated agaisnt the wall. Herro glared at Pan, and Pan laughed nervously.
"I told you to stay calm!" He yelled.
"How could I? Those things were creepy!"
"The're just bugs! They can't hurt you! What's there to be scared of?!"
"The're creepy, gross, and ugly do I have to explain myself?!" Herro growled and started to walk back to the wall. "What are you doing?" Pan asked.
"Looking for a way to continue our way. There must be a secret passage way or somthing."
"Secret passage?" Pan started, leaning on a wall. "Come on Herro, we're not in a movie-" Pan was cut off when the wall she leaning on spined, revealing a passage way. Pan laughed nervously.
"Not in a movie huh?" Herro asked smirking. Pan growled at his attitude.
Pan and Herro walked in the once hidden hallway. Instead of it being pitch black, there was torchs hanging from the walls, and (to Pans relife) there wasn't a bug in sight. Pan and Herro soon found themselves in front of another large stone door. On the crack at the bottom, Herro and Pan could see a errie green light. It gave Pan the creeps.
"Let's go." Herro said suddenly. Herro pushed the door open, revealing another long hallway. Exept this room looked much differnt. The torchs were green, and there were paintings and gold statues everywhere. And at the end of the hallway was a black wooden door.
Pan and Herro walked forward on the black carpet. As they passed the paintings, Pan was getting more creeped out. Herro was nervous too.
The paintings were similer to the ones Pan saw in Gyans book. People being killed or torchered by demons. And the statues looked familer too. One of them was a large wolf, it had on many gold and jewlry. But one of the statues caught her attention. It was a ten foot tall gold statue of man with a monkey tail. It had on a crown and many jewrly, it had many fangs, and seemed to be eating peachs. Pan blinked and continued to walked with Herro.
When they got to the black door Herro froze for a little, then put a hand on the door to open it. Herro gasped, and withdrew his hand like he was touching fire.
"What's wrong?" Pan asked. Herro held his hand, like it was injured.
"See for yourself." Herro simply said. Pan blinked, then nervously put a hand on the door. Pan immeaditly felt a giant dark power go through out her body. It was so cold it acually felt hot. Pan thought she was drowing, then she removed her hand from the door as soon as she touched it. Pan was gasping and sweating from the expeirence.
"Are you alright?" Herro asked putting an hand on her shoulder. Pan was silent for so long Herro got even more worried. "Pan?" He asked again.
"I've never felt anything like that..." Pan rasped. "I've felt stronger but... this one is so horrible. It was like being..."
"Torchered." Herro finished. Herro and Pan were silent again. Then after much quiet Herro said. "Pan... I think we're messing with somthing we can't handle."
Pan looked at him. "Huh?"
"I mean... we're like little rats poking at a huge bear. Our powers arn't even remotly close to *that*! I... think we should try to find another way to lift this curse." he finished. Pan stared at him, then got angery.
"Herro! How could you say that?! I know that thing's strong, but we can't run away! And even if we *did* run away, it wouldn't do any good! This is the only way to take care of this curse! You can go if you want, but I'm going to continue!" Pan yelled. Herro gawked at her.
"But you don't stand a chance aginst him! You'll be killed!"
"If we leave will die too. If we continue into this place will be killed. But I would rather be killed fighting, wouldn't you? At least it's not cowardly."
"Are you calling me a coward?!"
"No! But you're acting like one!" Herro was silent for a long time, then smirked.
"You're right. I was acting like a wuss wasn't I? I don't know what came in to me." he said smirking. Pan smiled at Herro.
Herro aprouched the black door again, and lifted his left hand toward it. He almost touched it, but hesitated. Pan was watching him as he tried to touch the dark door many times, but back away at the last second.
'He's way to scared to even touch it? Why's he acting like this?' Herro put his hand in front of the door, but pulled away. 'He... wasn't torchered this way was he? That energy didn't hurt me physically, but I felt like I was drowing. It felt so real. Herro, he must had been torchered like this.' Pan thought looking at the scared Herro.
Pan grabbed his right hand and lifted her hand to the door too. Herro looked at her in surprise, and blushed when he noticed she was holding her hand.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"We'll, open the door together okay?" She said blushing herself. Herro blushed deeper, and nodded. They had both of there hands in front of the door now.
"On the count of three, we open it." Pan said. Herro nodded. "1... 2..." Pan felt Herro grip her hand tighter. "3!"
Pan and Herro touched the door again. The same feeling came back, but in all of this Pan kept pushing the door, and she knew Herro was too.
Then it vanished. Pan opened her eyes and saw the door was open, and that she and Herro were on there knees. Pan looked at Herro and saw that he was white as a sheet, and was sweating terribly. But he was smiling at Pan.
"We did it." He said grinning now.
