Pan was flying over the city, looking at the ground bellow for the hot-headed saiyan boy. Then she spotted him. Hiro was sitting on a bench in the park, right where she told him to meet her. Pan landed, and just in time to see Hiro growl at passing people staring blankly at his tail. "Hiro," she started, getting his attention. "growling at them will only make you look weirder."
"It's their fault for stareing in the first place." Hiro humphed. "And what took you so long anyway?" he asked angerily.
"For your information I had trouble choosing what to wear. Don't blame me for wanting to look nice for today." she snapped. Hiro raised his brows, and got up.
"Well you're here now. So what do you want to do?" he asked, with a tone of bordome. Pan growled at his "enthusiasm", and looked around the park. Pan humphed, there wasn't much date material. "This place is pretty boring." Pan thought. "Kids on swings. Old people playing checkers. Arcade -what?" Pan looked across the street from the park, and sure enough a new arcade stood. Pan looked at Hiro. "Hey, you ever been to an arcade?"
"A what?" he asked.
After explaining what an arcade was and what its capabilities were, Pan led him into the video game filled building. They passed many kids and teenagers as Pan walked to the change machine. Hiro's curiosity kept getting the better of him, leaving Pans side to watch the screens flashing many colors and making many strange sounds, but Hiro was always dragged away from the video games by Pan. "Where we going anyway?" Hiro asked, in frustration.
"We're going to the change machine. If you want to acually play video games, you have to get tokens first." Pan explained.
"Huh? What do you mean by play?"
"I mean you get to play -uh... I mean -well, you know how t.v. works right?" Pan asked. Hiro nodded in anser. "Well, in television you only get to change the channel, you don't control how the show your watching goes. In video games you're responsable for what happens."
"I don't get it." Hiro said flatly.
"You will! Now come on!" Pan growled, tired of explaining things to him.
After getting their silver game tokens, Pan approuched a fighting game. Saying that "This game's an easy one." to Hiro, they each put one token in the slot. The screen flashed a bunch of colors, and showed a list of fighters on the screen. Pan chose one of the girl fighters, and Hiro, after thinking very hard, chose a man in a karate gee.
The screen flashed again, and a voice yelled "3... 2... FIGHT!" Pan explained the controls, and begun. Pan started with a few punchs, and Hiro blocked. Pans character kicked, and Hiros ducked and kicked, bringing Pans health bar down some. Hiros character got up, and punched and kicked Pans a number of times. Pans fighter seemed to be dizzy, making Pan shake the controls. Hiro twirled the joy stick and pressed the red and blue button in unisen. Hiros fighter flashed white, and then shot out a white energy blast while screaming "Hadouken!" Pans fighter screamed, and fell to the ground motionless. "PLAYER 2 WINS!" the voice screamed.
Pan humphed. "Beginers luck. Let's try another one."
"That blast... it looked like Pans Kamehameha." Hiro thought.
After playing some more "blinding" games, Pan and Hiro walked out of the arcade. While walking past many people, Pan thought of what to do next. "Hmm... this is getting me a headache." she said aloud, while holding her forhead. "Suggestions are welcome Hiro." Pan said. There was no anser. "Hiro?" she asked, turning around. Hiro was no where to be seen. "Hiro?" Pan asked again. Pan retraced her steps, trying to find the lost saiyan. "Hiro!" Pan called. Pan walked in circles, trying to find somone with a tail, or a lock of spikey hair. "Hiro-"
"-What?" Hiro asked, as Pan ran passed him. Pan looked at the boy, in shock and relife, then went over to pull his hair in frustration. "Ow!"
"Don't run away like that again!" Pan commanded.
"I didn't run away! You're the one who ditched me!"
"What?!"
"You heard me! I was following you and this thing-" Hiro pointed at a Grab Machine. "caught my attention! I was going to ask you what it was -but you were gone!"
"That's a Grab Game stupid!" Pan yelled, pulling on his hair some more.
"I don't know what that is!" Hiro stated. After the twos yelling contest, Hiro humphed and stared at the strange machine in front of him.
"He's so stupid!" Pan thought in anger. Pans eyebrows twitched, and then her shoulders slumped as she calmed down. "Not that I can blame him. He's never seen much technology."
"A Grab Game is just a game, where you move the controller to grab the toys inside." she informed.
"Oh. I was wondering what the toys were for."
"Yeah. if you ask me, it's a waste of- oh my God!" Pan yelled, pointing at the cutest stuffed monkey inside the grab machine. "I must have it!" Pan screamed, pulling out a quarter from her pocket. She put it in, and knew she shouldn't have. The crane jerked this way and that way, when Pan pressed the button to lower it she missed her targeted prize by a long-shot. After numorius tries, Pan gave up on trying to obtain the small stuffed monkey.
Ten minutes later, they were both walking in the large city, doing whatever came their way. Eating ice cream (which Hiro enjoyed most), seeing small movies, and looking in amazment at the large buildings, which facinated Hiro to no end.
Near the end of the day, fireworks filled the skies. Pan learned that there was a small carnival near them. Bringing Hiro to the festival, she showed him all the rides, food, and games. Hiro showed his saiyan strengh in a mallet game, after Pan explained how to do it of course. His power shocked the onlookers, and angered the man running the game. He snapped at Hiro, saying his strengh and tail shood put him in their freak show. This gave Hiro a face that Pan never seen before; saddness. In fury, Pan threw the rude man sky high and out of sight. Hiro asked why she did it, Pan ansered "No one will say such a thing to you when I'm around." Hiro smiled with (what Pan was sure) pure happiness.
After a break and food the stars started to show themselves, blinking with energy as the circus below continued with their business. It was getting late as Pan and Hiro goofed off on their date, and Pan decided to go out with a bang.
Pan grabbed Hiros arm within hers, and led him to the Farris Wheel. They climbed in, and the giant wheel started to bring them toward the black sky. The veiw stretched accross the city, the blurred lights of buildings and cars filling their gaze.
"Why did you throw that guy ealier?" Hiro asked suddenly. Pan blinked.
"I did it because of what he said, I told you that already." she then growled. "You really looked sad when he said it, you should have fried him."
"I heard worse from people." Hiro informed, his voice becoming more quiet.
"Who said worse things?" Pan asked, getting in Hiros face. "Tell me! I'll beat them up for you!"
"You can't." Hiro said, his face looking surprised at Pans actions.
"Why not?" Pan asked, her face blushing in frustration.
"Because I don't know what happened to them." he ansered simply. Pans eyebrows raised when she figured out what he ment.
"Hiro must be talking about the villagers he lived with when he was younger." Pan thought. The words of the lost green rabbit came to her mind. "He really didn't kill them, did he?"
"They said a lot of things to me in the past. But when I started to fight back they kicked me out of their village. I wondered for a while, and I ended up in Teigra. Although I really can't remember how..." Pan placed a hand on his knee.
"No one's going to say anything like that to you." she said smiling. "If they do I'll pound their faces in." she recomened, winking at him. Hiro blinked, and nodded smiling.
The Farris wheel began to lower them to the ground once more, as the saiyan couple held hands.
