=============================================================
Even over all the commotion from the last fight, Kakarotto hasn't noticed a thing as he scarfs all the food in his reach. That was one of the few decent fights in this whole damn tournament and he spent it with his head in a ramen bowl.
He'll be up in a match or two and he still has a pork bun hanging out of his mouth.
"Damn it Kakarotto. Quit stuffing your face and get your ass over here!!! You'll be up soon!!"
"Hm? Yea ok!!" He yells around his food. He grabs an armful of food and drags it over with him as comes to stand next to me near the arena. Chomping all the way.
I just look at him in slight annoyance and amusement as he jams another bun in his
mouth in an attempt to fill his bottomless stomach.
"Kakarotto I think you have a problem.."
He just nods in agreement and shoves a huge chicken leg in his mouth. It's amazing how calm he always is. Not quite from overconfidence, just self assurance.
You won't be so carefree after you see what I can do!
Finally, the mockery of a match is done. We've reached the two match semi finals and Kakarotto is up against that Kazuki fellow. Kakarotto has no sword or weapons, not that he really needs them. But the last time we met up with an enemy with a sword, we had to fuse just to beat him. Janenba was quite formidable. I'm not sure what other powers this Kazuki has. I wonder if he'll really be a challenge for Kakarotto. Since he didn't even watch his last fight.
"Uh...Gokuu you're up" the announcer says wondering why he isn't in the arena yet.
"Mmff umff" he mumbles around yet another chicken leg.
"Damn it Kakarotto just get out there! You can eat later!!" I yell as I grab the leg and try to pull it from his iron jaws. He refuses to let go.
"Just one more bite!!! Just ONE!!" he complains lunging for a basket of fruit when he looses his hold on the chicken. Apple cores, and banana peels flying everywhere.
Since force and yelling are ineffective, I try a different approach.
You get more flies with honey than with vinegar
I walk up to him and whisper in his ear. A proposition. He freezes and drops all food immediately after hearing it. He turns around and looks me in the eye.
"You promise...Bejiita?" his voice suddenly low, and serious. I give him my best smirk.
That's answer enough.
He brushes the crumbs from his orange dogi[1] and walks onto the arena much to the relief of a very annoyed and impatient Kazuki. He stands there tapping his foot with a sneer.
He mutters something. I'm too far away to hear but I know his words were not kind.
Watch it brat!
Kakarotto heard him just fine. He face set in determination and focus. "That wasn't very nice" he says in an even lower tone then before.
He crouches low and Kazuki rushes towards him with one far reaching swipe of his sword. Kakarotto blocks with an arm. While the blade does nothing, a nasty burn now marrs his skin. He seems a little surprised by this. Kazuki smiles at this new information and the fire around him and the sword grow stronger and brighter.
Kazuki, with an almost insane, dark gleam in his eyes, launches numerous fire filled slashes as he bounces around the arena.
"Kyaaa!!"
"Shyonestu!!!"
Kakarotto releases three small ki blasts just as Kazuki releases three of his own fire balls. They cancel each other out.
I guess he'll give Kakarotto a good fight after all, even though he's hardly using any of his power.
Saving it for me I bet
Kazuki stops for a moment. He appears to be devising some kind of strategy. Then the fire around him flares to three times it's normal size. Kakarotto seems wary but hold his ground. Now seeming to be made entirely out of fire, Kazuki lets out a sheik and rushes at Kakarotto twice as fast as before. Kakarotto looks down, then to his left..and smiles. An instant before impact Kakarotto side steps. Kazuki, taken completely by surprise, slips on a banana peel Kakarotto had carelessly flung there earlier, his arms and legs flying as he falls out of the ring.
"Eh?"
Utterly shocked and confused, Kazuki looks up at Kakarotto standing on the arena holding his stomach and laughing as hard as he can. Kazuki, enraged and in total disbelief that he lost, stomps his foot yells a curse.
"RGGhh! Shyonetsu!!" He sends another fire ball towards the laughing fool's face. When then smoke clears, Kakarotto's face is sutty and dark and a small flame dances at the end of his spiky hair.
Now I'm the one who laughs.
"Oh come on Kazuki! Don't be a sore loser!" Koto says still chuckling.
That has to be the stupidest way to win a fight I have ever seen!!! Kakarotto must have the devil's luck! Why must everything be so damn easy for him when I have to struggle and suffer to get half as much!!!
I've wondered this for many years. If I didn't love him I might resent him for this.
I stop my musings and look up at the arena. My next opponent is already waiting. I walk past Kakarotto as he wipes the ash from his face.
"Ganbatte."
===
I finally watch him fight this time around. He has changed much since the last time I've seen him in battle. He no longer seems so arrogant. He's actually approached this match with a strategy. He has always been a tactical genius but many times he doesn't bother to give the opponent or their abilities much thought if he thinks they are weak. It was they way I beat him the first time. But when I think about it, that fight really had no clear winner. We both won and lost in in different ways.
Bejiita finishes the match quickly.
He means to waste no time.
He means to fight me...and now.
Koto announces him the winner and the next and final match. Our match. He stares at me from across the arena. His eyes dark, determined and defiant. Just the way I love to see them. This will be a fight I won't soon forget.
My tail loops in anticipation.
===
He waits for me as I walk onto the stone arena. The crowd is strangely quiet and Koto backs away from the stage, giving us more space. I know we'll need it.
I assume my normal fighting stance and crouch low. But Bejiita, he simply stands. His back straighter than normal and his arms to his sides. A kind of formless stance, it shows his confidence and relaxed attitude towards the coming battle. Though I know in his mind he's anything but calm. He looks me straight in the eye and I know he truly means to win this time.
He can mean to do whatever he wants, doesn't mean he'll get his way. Although, I lick my lips, I can't remember the last time I refused to give him what he wanted. Anything and everything he wanted.
He must have sensed where my train of thought was going as he took that small window of opportunity, that small distraction to attack. He rams a punishing elbow into my unprotected side.
"AGK.guuh!.."
Lord that hurt.
"Did you like that Kakarotto?"
"Che! not pullin' any punches today huh Bejiita?" I say as I get up, trying not to hold my side. Trying not to show how much that hurt.
He doesn't answer but his smirk widens and he twists gracefully before delivering a powerful kick. Probably with bone snapping force behind it, but this time I'm ready. He won't catch me off guard so easily again!
I put my arms up to stop his foot from connecting with my face and crouch low to kick his legs from under him. He trips only for a moment, rolls out of the fall and charges forward fists flying.
I'm impressed at how much he's improved. I really have to try to block all his punches, which are accelerating at an alarming rate. If I'm not careful one will clip me. He seems so calm. He always used to call on his anger to give him power. The perpetual sneer on his face is gone. Now he just looks focused.
But so am I!
When the rain of fists stops I dish out five kicks in quick succession and follow them with one swift uppercut. He blocks and weaves around the kicks but the punch lands square in the jaw.
I thought our new relationship would make it hard for us to really spar as we used to. But the second I felt that first blow to my side I knew that notion was out the window.
More kicks and punches, more trips and dips, more blocks and rolls. I land another blow to his ungraded stomach and he grits his teeth in pain and releases a ki blast right in my face. I can't believe I didn't see that coming! That's twice now.
Now it's me who sneers.
Enough of this!
"HAA!!"
I finally power up to level 2. Energy crackles around me and I crouch low and prepare one of my tried and true attacks. He quickly powers up as well and his hair looks like spun gold.
We usually don't power up during a good spar. But this...this is an all out battle now.
"Ka me ha me..!"
"Fainaru ...!"
The light emanated by our attacks are blinding as we finally release them.
"HAA!!"
"FURASHU!!"
His blue beam clashes with mine as the two waves of immense energy surge against each other.
This almost makes me nostalgic, makes me remember our very first battle but this time he has no intention of blowing up the earth, just me.
We both power up a little more, trying to one up each other in hopes that the other's beam will buckle and fail. But we are dead even. The energy put into our attacks approaches critical mass and well both bail out before we lose control of the ki and blow up half the arena.
I fly back down and land on the stone floor waiting for the smoke to clear and for Bejiita to come down here as well and resume the fight. But he does not.
Doko e iku ka?
I know he must be here somewhere. A bright blue ki blast cuts through the dense smoke and heads straight for me. I deflect it easily but I have a feeling it was only to distract me from the real...
"EHh?.."
Bejiita seems to appear out of nowhere and sweeps my legs from under me. But instead of letting me hit the ground he kicks me back up and then again. I finally land across the arena some seconds later.
He's really mastered those surprise attacks of his. I look up at the clock and realize that more than half the time has already gone by and I seem to be on the losing side of this match. That calls for more drastic measures. Bejiita stands far from me, crossing his arms in a very cocky stance smirking at his possible victory.
You won't be so confident in a minute
My almost ear splitting scream and the low howl the rapidly increasing ki makes, cuts the air and destroys half the arena as I power up to level 4.
I thought perhaps I was over doing it and maybe level 3 would be enough. But I was never a fan of that form. The hair is heavy and cumbersome and tickles the back of my neck. At times it may have helped me much in the past and may have had the power to get the job done. But it has it drawbacks. If I don't make that attack work all my energy will be spent and I'd be in a lot of trouble.
Level four doesn't have that drawback, but it has another.
My now reddish tail snaps behind me. It's been so long since I've used this form. It's exihlerating and frightening at the same time. I feel like a different person. I feel like I've just reached into a well with no end. Reached into a lost, darker part of me that usually lies dormant and trapped until I truly need it.
"It's time to end this" I say and rush towards him, tearing up more of the arena on the way. He just grins. A grin I haven't seen since he let Babidi charm him. I get within a few feet of him just to be thrown back again by his sudden explosion of ki.
An almost impenetrable shield of energy surrounds him as he yells like an unholy terror. For a short time all that can be heard is that yell. All that can be seen is the bright, blinding cyclone of energy around him.
The screaming stops. He's finally done.
He's changed much in these years. That large gap that once separated us seems to have all but vanished. I've always counted on him being overconfident, leaving himself open, or being unaware of levels higher than the one's he's already risen to. But now...now he rises to meet them with me. He matches me blow for blow and then some.
The smoke clears, his ki cracks, fizzles and pops all around him, ruffling the red fur covering nearly every inch of his body. His deep green eyes hold the strangest expression, insanity, and something else...
He's actually reached level 4!? And without help from Buruuma's machine. He truly is a fighting genius, though I always knew it.
The victor of this match will not be decided easily.
===
A smirk.
I love the look of surprise on his face. He didn't expect me to reach this level.
I think to myself that finally now my chances of winning are high, until something goes off in my mind. I become aware of what I surprisingly had failed to notice.
How could I have overlooked that!?
The side effects.
I'd forgotten what this stage does to me, does to my mind. It actually seems to make me wilder, more irritable, more restless, as if I would snap any second. But it wouldn't be to lash out in anger, not to harm or punish. No. Something far more pleasant.
Dealing with the side effects of this stage are a problem. The fur takes some getting used. But what is most challenging is the control over my emotions, my power, my urges, or better the lack there of.
There's this constant low ringing in my head. This burning...in my mind, and elsewhere....
I remember the first time I got a taste of such power. The first time Kakarotto and I were level four together all those years ago. As if I haven't turned thoughts of that day over and over in my mind before.
His tail swayed not so gently behind him. The feralness, the gleam in his eyes. The thick, pinkish fur probably soft and downy to the touch covering every inch of his wonderfully made body. But still leaving his chest beautifully bare.
..kami..
This Kakarotto was so different from what I'm used to. Like a different person. He looks rather strange by normal standards. But to me, he's oddly attractive, even alluring. It must be the saiyajin in me. Am I really so drawn to power? Or just him?Luckily I was flying, or my legs surely have buckled under me. He seemed to be in a similar state. Time passed and we were totaly unaware of how long we stared and drank in each other's presence. It's no wonder why I grabbed him so many times, why I couldn't keep my hands off him, why he allowed it even though our wives were there and could see us.
He we are countless years later and it seems only one thing has changed.
Now, although our power is equal I'm at yet another disadvantage. His better familiarity with this form means he's had more time to deal with this little problem. He doesn't seem to be affected at all. Kakarotto stands there smirking almost devilishly waiting for me to continue. He must know, he must see what this form is doing to me. His tail darts back and forth behind him, calling me, enticing me. I had to use far more willpower than I'd like to admit to keep myself from...to stop myself from...
I look him over from head to toe.
How can he be so carefree? He looks so calm. He looks so..
"Unnn." A small, barely audible moan creeps past my lips. My heart beats just a little bit faster, my breath comes a much bit harder. The longer I stared, the worse it got. The once low ringing in my head gets louder and louder with each passing second.
The small smile perched on his delicious lips widens. He must have heard that after all.
I grit my teeth and crouch low in an attempt to control myself. It's shameful that I'm reduced to this by the mere sight of him. But at the same time what training is there for this? I can't call on the knowledge of this form from the saiyajins of past days. No others have ever attained a level anywhere near ours. I'm on my own.
Shit! Can I really win this way?
There must be a way! If not I'll make one! I've come too far to roll over now. Despite how my flush, overly sensitive body demands it.
Believing his victory is assured, Kakarotto rushes towards me, fist first. I just barely manage to duck and try to kick his legs from under him. He so rarely blocks low but this time it won't work. He may have fallen for that once. He won't make such a mistake now that he's so close to winning. He'll be watching me like a hawk.
I'd have it no other way
I throw another flury of kicks ans punches. Most of which are evaded or blocked but some manage to land with deadly accuracy. Kakarotto then unleashes one of his more potent attacks. It begins with many quick jabs, an over head blow then one swift uppercut.
Sounds fancy, and hurts like hell
What a marvelous attack.
Stop being all impressed and shit! You're suppose to be winning!!
I remind myself of this but still I smile over the pain in my head and the blood dripping from my mouth. I simply lick it away like extra syrup from pancakes. Somehow his punches and kicks don't feel like they used to. He hasn't lost his touch at all, no. They hurt, but at the same time I hadly feel the usual pain, swelling or tightness in the areas that received the blows.
A swift kick to my left side.
A moan.
Another punch to the stomach.
A groan.
A searing hot ki blast to my back.
"Aahh."
Every hit seems to send shivers down my spine. More kicks, and even more punches. There's no pain any more. It's not pain at all, whatever it is I feel myself getting drunk off it.
Perhaps this is affecting Kakarotto more than I think. He looks at me strangely. Probably wondering why the noises I make after his blows sound closer to pleasure than pain or discomfort.
He jumps back suddenly, planning his next attack.
===
What's with him!? One minute I thought he lapsed back into his old days when he wanted my head on a platter. Now...
I think he's gone mad
Now he just stands there, never taking his eyes off me, slowly licking the blood from a cut on his arm like it was the tastiest thing in the world.
Is it? I want some.
Has he gone mad? Or maybe I have...
The ringing and burning I thought I'd learn to deal with has returned. I shake my head as if that small movement would clear it.
"Nee, why'd you stop? Or do you want me to reciprocate?" he says in a low voice.
Just as quickly as the words were out of him mouth four punches rained down on my chest only to be followed by a swift knee right between my legs.
"GUH!!..AH..ha.!!!"
The wind knocked out of me, I colapse to me knees holding myself, trying to will the alarming pain in my groin to stop. When it finally does subside, I look up expecting to see the torn up arena. But instead my eyes widen when I find Bejiita standing barely an inch from me and my head level with his crotch.
I can smell his musk through his pants
Previous pain forgotten, I take another deep breath before looking up to his face. His tail lashes from side to side as he leers back at me.
The side effects hit him really hard
If I'm not careful they'll consume me too.
I clench my teeth to keep myself from running my tongue along the bulging seam of what's left of his pants.
I won't let this beat me! I won't!
I looked back up a him. Determination in my eyes instead of lust. We jumped back at the same time and take up defensive stances.
===
This getting to you after all Kakarotto?
He looks focused but behind his mask of determination I can see desire burning along the fringes.
He charges forward and does three kicks. One low, one medium, and one high before he spins into another, then another. Just as the last one lands, he teleports into another high back kick.
"Impressive..Kakarotto...I'd forgotten how flexible you are."
That fact only served to arouse me more.
I send three ki blast his way, and he darts past me to my left in a attempt to avoid them. Before he's completely out of reach, I grab his tail gently and let it trail through my fingers, and tickle the skin there. I'm so glad I decided to wear fingerless gloves, I can feel just how soft the fur on his tail is now. Being saiyajin, allows me to hear the small moan that escaped him as I touched his sensitive tail.
"Aah...RRG! STOP IT!!" he screams as red stains his cheeks and he stops short.
I mearly laughed as he grabs my hands and crosses his arms to keep me from doing that again. My arms are being held at bay, but that tactic brings our faces only inches apart. He still tries to continue the fight by head butting me. We do that several times. Eventually he doesn't pull away anymore and rests his forehead against mine.
Even with his familiarity with this form I'd say this is too much even for him. The hands holding mine are shaking. Even in battle his breath is far too labored. He leans in closer still until I can feel his hot breath on my lips.
"I want you so bad.."
BEEEEEEP!
The bell singnaling the end of the match blares. Koto walks up to us with the strangest look on her face as we part. Even the audience is strangely quiet.
"Uh...um anyway, that was the end of the match. You have used up all your time. The judges will decide the winner of this fight. Since this was the final round, they're gonna take some more time to make sure they choose carefully and weigh all their options." She says matter of factly.
"Well, ya heard the lady!! Hit the showahs and be back heah in an hour! The judges should have decided bah then!! Winners stay heah! The rest of ya'll go on home and thanks for participatin!!" Grand Kai pipes up.
With that I turn to leave. But a warm hand clamps down on my shoulder, the world blurs by and then a locker room appears around me.
Instant transmission again !
"Kakarotto...you really must stop doi..Unnk!!" he cut me off in mid sentence as he spun me around and pinned me against the locker with a loud clang.
He was breathing even more heavily than before. Now his eyes were no longer yellow, but a deep gold. They held a look of possesiveness, mischeviousness and the promise of something I know I'll enjoy.
He used his whole body to keep me in place. His thick tail coiling my thigh.
"Bejiiiiiita ...I need it...I need it now!"

A number of the fighting scenes described were from matches I played in DBGT Final Bout, and the last 'technique' was from the Majin Bejiita Saga.
[1] dogi = loose fitting orange shirt and pant set worn most often by practicing martial artists such as Kakarotto and his brat Gohan.
[2] Che = shit / dang
[3] Fainaru furashu= final flash
[4] Doko e iku ka = Where'd he go?
[5] Nee = If said in the right tone it's a kind of coy, emploring way of getting someone's attention.
