Seven years of hell on earth…

~~~~~~
I bolt up in the cold sweat of horror. /A nightmare…what the hell was that about?/ I look around the dimly lit room, the sun tussling to shine but blocked by tawdry white curtains. I cover my mouth with my hand, feeling the dank texture of my skin as I swing my legs over the edge of the low and sunken in divan that I have been asleep on for…obviously an elongated amount of time. I got up, not even bothering or even caring about Goten at that point. I exit myself out of the house and got into my car, the uneasiness of that dream still skulked inside of my head, giving me goose bumps. As I drove through the residential area, I notice that the streets are quite deserted. No children playing, no porch monkeys. No nothing. /This day is already getting weirder and weirder./ It was beautiful outside and the fact that no one was enjoying it found me as being a little uncanny.
When I arrived at my home, there still seemed to be vacant playgrounds and lots every where that I looked. “hm,” I mumble in uncertainty to what was going on as enter the house. Again no one in sight.
“Where the fuck is everybody?”
“Be quiet! I’m watching something on TV!”
I smack my lips to the timbre of Bra’s voice. “Fuck your stupid TV show. Where’s mom and dad?”
“You don’t have to use profanity,”
“Bra,” I say feeling my patience leave me at a rapid pace.
“I haven’t seen mom since last night, and dad…well he said something about training. You know it does feel good outside. Why are you so worried?” /Training? That man hasn’t trained in years…and mom’s probably just in her lab…/
Ignoring Bra’s last question, I race up the stairway, for no apparent reason except for the fact I can’t stand being around her smart ass for too long without wanting to grab her up by her neck. I decide to take a shower before I get started on my paper.
~~~~~~

I opened my laptop computer and watched it as it loaded to the main screen, trying to think of any sources useful to me besides typing in religion on some search engine website. /Well I guess the first one I can get into could be Catholicism and Christianity….I wonder if there is a website dedicated to God and the bible…hmm…bible.com maybe?/

As soon as I type it in, I find a page from the bible--not what I’m looking for. On the side panel there are many things I can click on. I randomly pick one and read what it says:

What does the bible say about…evil in the world? What’s wrong with this world?

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

What exactly is sin? If you asked ten different people, you might get ten different answers. Some might say that sin is "doing something wrong or breaking the law", while others might say that sin is "hurting another person or taking an innocent life." Still others might deny the very existence of sin, saying that there is no such thing as right or wrong-- in short, that there are no real absolutes in this world. However, most people agree (regardless of culture) that there are certain actions that are wrong, and should be punishable by fines, imprisonment or even death.

I shift in my seat as I read on…….

Even the person who "doesn't believe in right or wrong" would have a hard time observing a maniac rape and murder a small child, and say that what happened to them was not a crime.

Sin is a terminal disease that eats away at the very heart of this planet. It destroys individual people, families, cultures, even the earth itself. Our world is defiled by it, yet most people cannot even give a definition of the word, or grasp the true gravity of the situation. What is sin? Surely sin is more that ten different opinions from ten different people. Is there any final authority on this subject?

The Bible says that sin is a heart condition. It is a condition of rebellion against God, which stems from pride. The Bible even refers to pride as "original sin." The Hebrew definition of the word sin means "to miss the mark. "God created us to be like Him, but our pride and rebellion make us fall far short of that purpose. Our actions, though they may be "sinful" are really only the fruit of our rebellion against God. Our outward actions merely mirror our true inner condition. It is our true inner condition that God is concerned with. He knows the "real you" better than you yourself do, because he sees "the inner man" and all your secret thoughts and motives.

/Damn…pride? I wonder what my father would say about this…/

I snort in incredulity and slight pessimism as I go to my word processor and entitle my paper: ‘Key Points of Different Religions: What Makes their Beliefs Unique, and What Opposes it’ I am unable to contain myself from releasing a small chuckle to the unrealism of this whole thing. I click on something else--

What does the Bible say about homosexuality?

Corinthians 6:9-10 (NIV): "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters, nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

Homosexuality is also referred to as the sin of sodomy. This reference comes from an account in the Bible of two exceedingly wicked cities, Sodom and Gomorrah, which the Lord destroyed. Sodom was known for its rampant homosexuality and unrestrained sexual lust, as well as other sins such as arrogance, haughtiness, and disregard for the poor. When the Lord sent angels to warn Lot who lived in the city that it was about to be destroyed, the men of the city actually wanted to rape the angels! Genesis 13:13: "But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly."

I shift even more as I couldn’t help to get a little uncomfortable to what I was reading….maybe even a little nervous. /…..Do people really believe in this./ I shrug it off and smirk at my computer screen to this next topic.

What does the bible say about demons? Willful sin brings demonic attacks.

The majority of Christians today are totally ignorant of the nature of evil spirits (demons), and many would prefer that they were not even mentioned. They choose to ignore this portion of God's ministry because they are fearful of things beyond their understanding. The result of this ignorance is that multitudes live in needless torment. One of the deadliest misrepresentations of the truth of God is that a Christian should not be concerned with thoughts that a demon could be their problem. This is taught within many churches and gives the devil a "field day" to bring fear, mental torment, jealousy, hatred, lust, pride, self-pity, addiction, gluttony and many other forms of bondage, oppression, and defilement.

When we practice willful sin, Satan eventually sends one of his demons that is compatible with that particular sin to dwell within us. Then each time we give way to that sin that spirit takes over. Since their personalities mesh with those of their victims, it takes spiritual discernment to detect them. We must remember that demon spirits are "invisible beings" with wicked intelligence that seek bodies in which they can express themselves. These spirits are emissaries sent from Satan having personalities and characteristics that make up an intelligent being. They walk, hear, speak, see, obey, seek, think, know and dwell in the body to accomplish their evil purposes (Matthew 12:43-45, Mark 1:23-24,3:11). They are made subject to Christ and believers by the atonement, the name of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Each principal demon or "strongman" has a particular mission which we are able to recognize by its fruit or manifestation. We need to seek God and study His Word to find the truth about this controversial subject.

/How?…when there’s no such thing./

Having read enough info and really just reading enough of this bullshit I go to my next topic of choice. Satanists, Satanism, the Temple of Set, Right/Left Hand Path--and every thing in between. /Churchof Satan.com or Balanone’s Temple should do me some good for this particular topic./

Satanism

Is the Temple of Set a Satanic organization?

The Temple of Set as an organization was founded in 1975 by Dr. Michael Aquino, in San Francisco. Its initial membership came from the Church of Satan (that infamous "Satanic" organization of the carny Anton LaVey), composed of CoS members who felt there was something real and important about the magic they were exploring, and felt that Anton LaVey's antics of that year were in contradiction to their own experiences. The Temple of Set has grown a lot in scope and maturity in those twenty years.

Because of this history, and because of the many antinomian pursuits followed by Setians, many people will call the Temple of Set "Satanic." Many Setians do, too, but not all.

"Satan" is a name given to the Prince of Darkness, just like "Set" is a name given to the Prince of Darkness. However, "Set" is a name given by a religion which found Setian principles attractive and noble, and which honored the Prince of Darkness. "Satan" is a name given to the Prince of Darkness by Christianity out of fear and revulsion. The Christian Satan is a twisted bastardization of the true Prince of Darkness.

/I think I feel the same way I do about Christianity as I do this…/ I read further on….

Left Hand Path

The Left Hand Path is the tradition of spiritual dissent. It is a process of using the ideas and actions of the Seeker to create or realize an immortal, individual, potent, and powerful essence that will survive death. The Left Hand Path is the quest for personal immortality, won by hard effort without grace of gods, even of our role model, Set.

/This doesn’t sound half bad…hmm…./

The terms Left-Hand Path and Right-Hand Path refer to a postulated dichotomy between two distinct types of religion. The exact meaning of the terms has varied over time; the most modern usage regards religions which focus upon the worship of one or more deities and the observance of strict moral codes as belonging to the Right-Hand Path, while religions which value the advancement of the self over other goals are considered to belong to the Left-Hand Path. This usage of the terms is invoked almost exclusively by self-proclaimed followers of the Left-Hand Path; followers of religions described as "Right-Hand Path" either argue that this is a means of dividing religions, is a mislabeled or false dichotomy, or, that much of what is called "left hand" is in actuality Satanism, or "black magic".

/Ooo…this is starting to get interesting…/

Jesus continually invited His listeners to observe the seasons and discern the times in which they lived, by what was clear and obvious. Out of respect to His wishes, and a true desire to understand, I submit these simple thoughts, in the hope that some of those who read this will be better prepared for their futures and turn their eyes to the One who is Altogether Lovely. I make no claim that this is a "prophetic word," but rather, a call for the response that I believe God is looking for in all of our hearts--Mercy Aiken
