The Birth of an Angel.

Somewhere in Deep Space on a planet called Vegeta, A Sayain was at work in one of the many labs there, trying to complete the task of making a Sayain warrior…since sometimes baby Sayains perished on their trips to other planets and they needed one that wouldn't die.

"Right…I reckon that should be all…" The Sayain said as he stepped back and admired the big green glass tube, inside it there was a small humanoid with a white tail and blonde hair and it was obvious it was a little girl.

The Sayain smiled and then looked around quickly as a female Sayain came in "Toma! There you are…we were about ready to leave on a mission without you" The female Sayain said to the male Sayain who put one hand behind his head and smiled nervously "E-heh yeah…sorry about that Celipa…but…well I was kinda busy with something…" Although he was cut off when Celipa walked closer and looked at the glass tube "What the…Toma…what's that?!" Celipa said and pointed to the interior of the tube, "Ahh…that's…that's the project we were assigned to do…you know? The Project to create the perfect Sayain fighter?…well that's her" He pointed out however Celipa just looked deep into his eyes " It's about Namara isn't it?" She asked the tall short spiky haired Sayain. Toma's eyes widened a little and he looked down "Well…I…I guess so…" he sighed his voice sounding somewhat saddened, Celipa layed a soft hand on Toma's shoulder "Hey it's alright Toma…I'm sure Namara would want you to do this…heh and you know Bardock didn't mean to kill her" She reassured him, " I know…but…I still can't believe it happened…I mean look…Bardock has a really beautiful mate but you don't see me throwing myself at his mate's feet…and your getting engaged soon…and you don't see me taking you away from your beloved boyfriend…and me?!…me…well I'm left alone…with no mate at all…" " Listen Toma…I know you two wanted a family but now you can't…unless you found another mate…Toma?" Celipa asked him as he looked up and looked at the tube then back at Toma "Or…is there more to this project then meets the eye?" Toma smiled and nodded "Yeah…you see…not only do I want this li'll girl to be a great fighter…I want her to be my daughter too" This time it was Celipa's turn to widen her eyes " You mean…that little girl's your daughter?!…well what's her name?"

Toma blushed slightly "Well…I haven't really thought of a name for her yet…I'm still kinda thinking of one" "Oh…well I'm sure you'll find one soon" Celipa said smiling, Toma just smiled back too, "Now come on…we better go and meet up with Bardock…I heard he's in a bad mood today"

"Huh?…how come?" "Well apparently he tried training Radditz again…unfortunately the child kept fainting after even the lightest blast…so now Bardock's ranting about how in the cosmos did he end up with a weakling for a son" Toma sweatdropped slightly "well that's Bardock for you…" Then both of them ran to catch up with Bardock and the others.

"So where were you earlier today Toma?… goofing off as usual no doubt about that" Bardock said his tail swishing slightly and a stern look on his face, " Heh…aren't you the happy one today eh Bardock?" Toma said with a small chuckle but quickly stopped when he saw Bardock was still glaring at him, However Celipa spoke up for Toma "He was finishing off the Sayai project this morning…that's why we came a bit late" Bardock's glare lifted a little "The Sayai project…" he smiled "Well in that case let's get a look at it…heh I bet you made it into a male right Toma? I mean afterall we are the strongest gender…" he paused as Celipa gave a sharp glare "…well okay maybe Celipa's an exception…" as he looked to her again and she just smiled, Toma just laughed "Sorry to disappoint you Bardock but it's not a boy"

Bardock looked disapprovingly at the small infant in the tube " So this is the `Perfect' fighter?!!" Toma nodded "Yep…and Bardock before you do so much as diss her for being a little female may I just remind you that I want her to be my daughter…considering you killed my beloved mate before we could even start a family" Toma said with a stern glare which made Bardock look down ashamed " I see you still haven't got over that…" he said sheepishly Toma just growled slightly and looked back to the tube with a gentle expression, Bardock then walked over and looked at the baby closely "You know…she does sort of bare a resemblance to Namara…except for having blonde hair and a white tail" Toma nodded " I took some genes from Namara…but I don't know about the others…" Bardock nodded "Well…you can carry on looking at your precious `daughter' but I hear a drinking contest calling my name" Bardock started making his way out of the room but not before hearing Toma mockingly shout out "Bardock Bardock…I am the spirit of the beer bottles and I call for you to come and drink us all" which was followed by him bursting out into a fit of laughs Bardock just grinned and yelled back "And that I shall!" and he ran down the corridor to where they were holding the drinking contest.

And so 2 days later Bardock brought Radditz to look at the baby, although Bardock still didn't seem to care about the small baby, Although when Toma came back to check on the little girl he found some writing scribbled on the metal bit "Huh?…" Toma looked closely "Quartina?…that looks like Bardock's handwriting…" Toma looked at the writing and then at the little girl, back at the writing and back at the little girl, he then smiled " So you don't care for her huh Bardock?" He said smiling being as Quartina meant `Angel'.

Exploring the planet.

In just 4 months the young female Sayain was happily crawling about and always being so curious about everything, Although Toma wanted her to get used to her surroundings (since now she was also entitled to become the next heir to the throne…after Prince Vegeta of course) he didn't want her getting hurt or being called a freak (since she had a white tail and blonde hair…and for Sayains that tail and hair colour was simply unheard of) " I guess this must be what it's like to be a father" Toma just said to himself as the little Sayain looked curiously at one of Toma's wristbands, Little Quartina babbled to herself and put it on her head which made Toma laugh slightly " Hey are you being Action Baby now?" he asked her, although she just smiled at him and gurgled, He smiled softly at her and then just layed back on his bunk-bed and looked up at the ceiling "Let's see…in 1 hour it'll be time for Quartina to go back into her tube and I'll have to go on a mission…man I hope it's not too long…as much as I trust the scientists here…I don't trust that they'd look after Quartina properly…she's doing so well at the moment…if something bad was to happen to her while I was out I'd never forgive myself" Toma thought out-loud to himself, However all this worrying made him slightly tired and he soon fell asleep on his bunk.

In the meantime…little Quartina had found an opening in the door and crawled out into the corridor, She was amazed at how big everything looked as she had never really been outside of the lab…and this was much different to her virtual playpen, She began to crawl down there…looking around at every little sound and motion as she crawled past various training rooms and bars.

Very soon she reached the `outdoors' and just stopped crawling and sat down looking at all the buildings, her little face was just `O.O' at how big they were…She then heard a rumble and looked down, she was hungry and so she just sat there waiting to be fed…and so she waited…and waited…and waited and still no one came to feed her, this made her slightly cranky since she always got what she wanted and she was about to cry…when all of a sudden she smelt food, she pulled a small smile and licked her little lips before crawling on the trail of the enticing scent.

This led her to a Sayain bar where there were loads of Sayains, Male and Female ones…chatting, flirting, eating and drinking…and having the occasional arm-wrestle, And it was pretty noisy in there too, with them all shouting and laughing at the same time…the noise scared Quartina slightly since where she normally was…it was quiet and relaxed…except for when Bardock normally got drunk and just danced round the labs singing at the top of his voice but Quartina didn't mind that, since Toma had told her that Bardock was often very stressed and uptight…and he guessed that going to drinking matches and getting drunk often calmed him down.

Quartina murmured slightly at all this as she saw one Sayain fling one over his shoulder and into a table to which he turned to others watching and explained that the other one had cheated.

Quartina then watched as a bar fight broke out between the two Sayains…and how the others either joined in or just stood there laughing and cheering for either of the Sayains, Quartina was now really scared by this as the fight seemed to be getting closer so she crawled out of there.

Outside yet again she felt a rumble in her stomach…only louder this time and it went on for slightly longer she held her stomach and whimpered…and again she smelt something that seemed to be food, And she crawled off to where she could smell it.

Out in the training fields was a small band of Sayains getting ready to train…and one of them was a small child…his hair seemed to go straight up and his Armour was different to the others, like he was some kind of Prince or something…this child was the 3 year old Prince Vegeta getting ready to try out some of his fighting moves and he took off his Armour and underneath he wore a navy blue training suit and his tail just wagged about freely, he smirked up at one of the taller Sayains, this one was quite muscular and had a moustache and had a bit of hair on his head, who just smirked and nodded to the others, as one formed a energy ball of some kind and raised it into the sky, and then all of them began to transform…they became Giant Monkeys of some sort, Quartina remembered Toma had told her about these "Those are a Sayains most powerful form…an Oozuru…or just plainly a Giant Ape in that form we are practically unbeatable and our attacks are of pure power…the only way to stop us is if our tails are cut off or the moon disappears…but that's why we have that special `artificial moon' we often use this form when we destroy a race or planet…but we are sometimes trained in the Oozuru form too" Even though she was just a baby Quartina had memorized Toma's words and it seemed to play in her head…however she was curious to look up and look at the big shining energy ball ( artificial moon) in the sky, so she did.

The minute her pupils looked straight to the artificial moon she felt a strange surge of energy go through her, her eyes widened and she just sat there in a paralyzed state as her pupils shrunk, she then became aware that her heartbeat began to go faster and she started growling uncontrollably, she was actually scared and wondered what was happening to her…she tried to remember what Toma had told her…but now it was becoming all jumbled up and confusing, she started to cry…unknown to her, those cries became growly cries and as she watched in a puddle of water she suddenly had fangs and fur was forming on every single part of her and her pupils disappeared and her eyes turned red and she was starting to grow bigger, she threw back and head and cried even more only now they became roars and finally the transformation was complete, In little Quartina's place was a rather ticked off looking Giant albino ape, it roared angrily and began to stomp around, In it's mind it was scared and confused and figured the only way out of this was to stomp and destroy and roar.

One of the brown Giant Apes looked over to the newcomer "What in the…what's that?!!"

"Huh?…ARGGHHH!!" another one roared in surprise at seeing the white ape which was just firing beams from it's mouth, The Giant Ape that had been the Prince just looked blankly at the newcomer and then smirked "So this was the best you could do Nappa?…I'll have that freak out in a flash!" "But Prince Vegeta…that's not one of my experiments…in fact I don't know what it is" but Nappa's breathe was wasted as the young giant brown ape ran at full speed towards the giant albino ape getting ready to punch at it yet getting ready to kick it at the same time, however the white ape was in much too much of a panic to even care if it was hit or not and just lashed about with it's tail, which managed to collide with the brown ape, he yelped in surprise as he was knocked back by her tail, then growled " Oh so you think you're a wise guy huh?!! …well you won't be by the time I'm through with you!!" and he fired one of his mouth beams at the white ape…this time it hit dead-on and made the white ape roar in slight pain and surprise, Then the young ape launched himself at the white one and began to kick and punch getting the poor thing with almost every punch and kick, very soon the white ape got angry by this `rude young boy ape' and bit into the brown ape's tail…and she bit it HARD! , The young brown ape cried out as he really hadn't expected that and kicked out at her, She was sent back skidding to a halt and then just looked and roared as he launched himself yet again…this time to bite into her tail, The other Sayains watching did go to sort out the strange ape but Nappa had told them to see if the Prince could defeat it.

However before the brown ape could bite into her tail he was sent back by a powerful punch that came from `another' ape…only this one was brown and had shoulder length black-ish hair but it had a very ticked look on it's face and yelled at the prince "LEAVE HER ALONE!!" it roared, the prince blinked wide-eyed and got to his feet "A her?!!…leave HER alone?!!" he said looking puzzled (which must look well weird on a Giant Ape) The other Sayains both looked with shock "The Prince was fighting a female?!" "Are there any female's here that can become albino ape's?!" However the Prince didn't seem to give up that easily "And why should I listen to a low class Sayain such as yourself?!" The Prince snarled at the other Giant Ape that stood protectively in front of the white ape " Because…because…" The Giant Ape seemed to think of what to say "Because…if you don't I'll tell her daddy about you and you'll be in trouble!" the ape yelled back…although sounding slightly sheepish, The Prince just laughed a cruel laugh back at the ape "Ooooooooh so your gonna tell her daddy on me are ya?! Well I'm soooooooooooo scared!" he yelled out mockingly and just laughed even more, The Giant albino ape just whimpered slightly as she was slowly getting her mind back into focus and she was upset at being mocked and teased, The other ape in the meantime saw how upset the Prince was making her and then found himself running at the Prince and headbutted him roaring this caught the young Giant ape off guard the Prince and the other ape flew back and crashed into a large boulder, The other Sayains decided to finally take action and Nappa blew up the artificial moon and they all began to shrink back down to their normal forms.

Quartina had somehow toddled and hid behind a boulder and shrunk down to her small baby form again and now she felt sleepy.

Nappa and the other Sayain ran over to what had been two giant apes were now just two little Sayain boys with bruises on them were they'd hit the boulder with a strong force, Prince Vegeta was wiping blood from his mouth and the other Sayain child was none- other than… "Radditz?!" Nappa said looking quite amazed and shocked "Huh? …you know this child?" the other Sayain asked the tall burly Sayain, "Know him?!…he's the son of Bardock!" Nappa said, "You mean…this is what Bardock said was his weakling son?!" " Well he managed to knock down the Prince" Nappa said as he kneeled down to both kids, Vegeta just growled at Radditz who just scowled back at him, " Radditz…you just knocked down the Prince…do you know what that means?" Radditz then looked up and started to sweat "That…that I'm in trouble?" Radditz said looking guilty and worried, Nappa laughed "Not exactly…you just actually hurt the Prince" to which Vegeta's eyes widened and he covered where his mouth was bleeding "I'm not hurt! He didn't hurt me!! I'm just fine!" the Prince yelled and already started throwing a three-year-old fit, Nappa sweatdropped but did a small grin "Well whatever you say little Prince…come on let's get you cleaned up…and Radditz I'll talk to your father later on" Nappa said and picked up the little Prince who was now kicking and screaming and yelling that he was the strongest Sayain and that Radditz's win against him was a trick and that he'd been caught off guard but the next time they fought against each other he'd win…and with that he looked over Nappa's shoulder and pulled one eyelid down and stuck out his tongue at Radditz who did the same and watched as Nappa, Vegeta and the other Sayains walked off…and then he went to look for Quartina, "There you are!" he said happily when he found her and picked her up, she looked at him sleepily and gurgled "I don't know what your doing out here…but we better get you back to Toma" he said and started to carry her back to the lab.

Once they were there Radditz shared some of his food rations with her, by smushing it up and giving her the remains of it…and sweatdropped when she gobbled (or slurped) it up "Man…you must've been hungry" he said with wide-eyes she just did a small burp in reply…then blushed "Hey it's okay" he said with a smile and then looked up as Toma woke up "Ahh man…how long have I been out?…huh?…Radditz?" He said and got up " Hi there Toma" Radditz said smiling, his little tail wagging "Radditz…how did you get in here?" Toma asked the four year old, " Well…I got in cos the door was open" Toma's eyes widened "The door was open?!…is Quartina okay?!" "Uh huh…I was just sharing my food with her…she's been with me in here the whole time" he said smiling even though he knew he was lying but he didn't want Toma to panic if he said that he'd just saved her from being beaten to a pulp by the Prince of Sayains, Toma nodded "Well as long as she hasn't gone out…heh it's just that I don't think the other Sayains are ready to see her yet" then Quartina yawned and rubbed her little eyes, Toma smiled gently at her "Awwwww I'm guessing someone's tired huh?" Quartina just gurgled and babbled sleepily, Toma then picked her up and placed her in her tank then pressed a button and the glass closed tight around it…and the suspension fluid started to fill the tank, Radditz waved goodnight to her and she just waved and gurgled and saw Toma smile gently at her before she yawned and fell asleep.

The Desperate Rescue.

An entire year passed after Quartina's little exploration on Planet Vegeta and quite a few events happened, Radditz was enrolled into the Sayain elites after his fight with the Prince, Bardock had kind of been proud of his little son…but didn't really want to show it, and after her boyfriend cheated on her, Celipa and Toma started to become close, and very soon Bardock's mate had another son.

His name was Kakarrot and he looked so much like his dad…however his power level was only 2 which made Bardock furious but then to top it off, Bardock's mate then died which made him even worse and then after a trip to the planet Kanessa, Bardock had acquired the ability to see the future, however the visions he saw where incredibly strange.

"That son of mine…" Bardock said blankly as he looked out at the buildings "Huh? …what about him?" Toma asked his friend as he cradled little Quartina in his arms "I don't know…it's…it's in these visions I keep having…their of my son…Kakarrot…growing up" Bardock explained, although he still looked distant "But that's not all I see…I see the destruction of planet Vegeta…Freeza destroys it…and…and I see the death of Panbuukin…Toteppo…Celipa and you…but I get killed too…" Toma's eyes widened but he grinned…however it was of a nervous grin "Okay Bardock you can stop kidding about now" Bardock looked back to Toma "I'M NOT MAKING IT UP!!" he shouted angrily which made Quartina cry " Oh look what you've done now Bardock!" Toma said with a stern tone and then started cradling Quartina and smiling softly at her "There…there it's alright…there's a good girl" Toma cooed at her when she stopped crying and just started gurgling at him, He smiled at her then looked up " Look…Bardock if it makes you feel any better Celipa, Toteppo and Panbuukin are all going to a planet…apparently it's for another mission…you can go along with them if you want" "Huh?…how come your not going?" Bardock asked his friend who just smiled "Because tomorrow it's Quartina's birthday…and I want to be here for her" Toma smiled and just hugged his little girl, however Bardock was ready to suggest leaving her with someone " Why don't you leave her with the Professors?" Toma just looked blankly at Bardock "You know I don't trust them" "Oh…well…how about Radditz?" " Bardock…Radditz is only 5 years old…and your forgetting he's on a mission at the moment so he's not here" Toma said and looked down to Quartina as she seemed to be missing Radditz "Well…I'm out of suggestions…so…your going to stay here and be here for her birthday?" Bardock asked Toma who nodded "Yeah…heh and at least she'll be with someone she knows" Toma answered, Bardock didn't know what to say at first but then he smiled "Well alright…and don't worry I'll give the people on that planet heck for ya" Toma laughed "Yeah you do that" and with that Bardock went out to the corridor and went to where the rest of his team were going, just before they went Celipa kissed Toma on the cheek and cooed at little Quartina "And when we come back…you'll finally have a mommy" Celipa said smiling to little Quartina who gurgled in response, and soon the four Sayains went into the pods and took off while Toma and Quartina waved to them " Come on Quartina…let's put you into your tank…heh after all you'll want to be well awake for your big birthday tomorrow" he said to her, Quartina babbled and snuggled into him…and then when she was in her tank and it was filling up she smiled and gurgled as Toma smiled that loving smile that she loved so much and told her that he'd be there for her birthday and that it would be the happiest birthday for him and her and then she fell asleep…

However in the events to come…everything became complete and utter chaos Bardock had returned briefly to recover after passing out again…and then he went back to the planet…and then he was soon back on Planet Vegeta again, he looked determined to let all the Sayains know about something, he had found out that the mission they'd been sent on had been a trap…and the visions he had were becoming much more clearer…he had learnt of Freeza's intentions and was set to let everyone know…however when he stuttered into a bar and told them, they all laughed at him so then he felt there was only one person who would listen to him " Toma?!" Bardock said looking around…but he couldn't find Toma anywhere…then he remembered "It's Quartina's birthday today!…maybe he's gone to the labs" and so he went there.

When he got there, there was Toma standing protectively in front of the lab doors and two of Freeza's henchmen were there too.

"How many times do I have to tell you lame brains?!! …you can't go in there! There is something in there…that has no importance to you!" Toma was yelling at them "Stop wasting your breathe monkey! …we know you have a specimen in there that could become one of Freeza's best fighters! …and we're going to get it!" One of them said, his raspy voice sounding forceful and threatening but no matter how threatening they were Toma still wouldn't budge " But…you can't! she's…she wasn't born for destruction! …she's to bring peace!" The henchmen looked at each other with wide eyes than narrowed them and looked back at Toma "So it was made for peace eh?" one said…Toma didn't like where this was heading " Can't have that now can we?" the other said, Before they could say anything else Bardock arrived on the scene " Bardock?!!" Toma said looking surprised " No time to talk Toma…now's the time to fight!!" Bardock said and got ready to fight the henchmen, Toma looked…then grinned and nodded "Yeah!" he yelled and got into a fighting stance.

Both Sayains launched themselves at the henchmen…however the henchmen called for back-up…and the next minute there was around 30 more henchmen there but the Sayains decided to put up the best fight they could.

What followed was one massive brawl, with Toma and Bardock blasting energy blasts at the henchmen…some got killed and some were injured, but suddenly one fired his gun at the lab…and it set it on fire.

Toma suddenly looked towards the labs with wide-eyes "QUARTINA!!" he screamed and then looked towards the henchmen that had fired that gun "Toma?" Bardock looked as his friend ran at the henchmen however, he was then in the firing line of several henchmen who started shooting at him, Then Bardock flew forward at them "Galient gun!!" he yelled and fired his trademark attack at them, it hit them all dead on…although Toma had got hit by one of them…and he was just nursing where he got shot "Man that didn't tickle" he said wincing slightly, Bardock nodded "Yeah…well at least you didn't end up like them" he said smirking as he pointed to the burnt henchmen, Toma grinned then his eyes widened as he suddenly got blasted from behind, "TOMA!" Bardock shouted and looked to where the blast had come from, one of the henchmen still remained there grinning evilly Bardock looked at his friend "Toma?…" " Bardock…please…save Quartina" " But Toma…what about you?…you can't die…your stronger than that" Toma just shook his head and looked mournful "Well…I don't think I'll pull through…" "But…you promised Quartina…you promised her you'd be there for her birthday" Toma looked up still looking mournful "I guess that's one promise I just can't keep…" Toma paused to try and catch some of the valuable breath that he was losing, " Hey Toma…maybe you should rest…I mean…surely we could get you to a tank…" Bardock said "Bardock…please…just get Quartina…and rescue her…your visions…they were right…Bardock…this planet is soon gonna cease to exist…please my friend…please…" he was starting to lose conscience Bardock still hesitated for a bit…but then smiled "Okay…I'll give it my all…and Toma…you rest in peace…" Toma smiled then finally slipped away from conscience and then it was obvious…Bardock hung his head low "Toma…of who I knew since I was a child…you'd always throw yourself into danger to protect the ones you loved…and your best friends too…I will get Quartina to safety for you…I hope you find Celipa again…sleep well…my friend" and with that Bardock looked up and quickly cleaned up Toma's face with his band…then tied it round his head and scowled at the henchman…as another one was now there "Why are you doing this?!!" Bardock yelled at them…his tail bristled and he was standing awkwardly since he also had injuries…but those had happened when he'd got blasted by Dodoria, The henchmen laughed and one of them stepped forward "Heh you wanna know why?…Freeza never liked the Sayains…and he's blowing this planet to another dimension!" Bardock's eyes widened "What?!!" <…So it wasn't a dream! …> "ARRRRGHHHHH!!" Bardock screamed and fell to his knees holding his head < Not again! > as he started to have another of his visions.

Meanwhile in the burning lab, Quartina was still in her tank and was fully awake…she could see that it was all dark and foggy outside and she could feel an intense heat coming in through the glass "Mnnnnn…Mnnnnn…" she whimpered all she wanted was for her daddy to come and tell her everything was alright but he wasn't coming, she began to cry.

Back outside the lab, Bardock was still holding his head, one of the henchmen looked puzzled "What's the matter monkey?" In Bardock's mind he could see more future visions of his son < What?…Kakarrot?!… > "Rarrgghh!!" he yelled as he tried to tackle one of the henchmen "Arrggghh!" one of the henchmen yelled and he jumped to one side < Darn this power! It makes me slower than normal and slow enough for them to stand a better fight > One of the henchmen ordered for them to shoot at Bardock and then Bardock went to punch at him but was grabbed around the waist in a sort of lock " Hah! Let's see you try and get out of that!" the henchman sneered at him "Ack! …gotta get free!" Bardock stuttered and struggled in the grip of the tall henchman, The leader of them turned to a small band of the other henchmen " Alert Master Freeza!" he yelled at them, "Yessir!" they said and hurried off.

Quartina then started to cry harder and louder so it could be heard from outside the lab, Bardock looked up < Quartina!! > as he heard the small infant screaming "Come on men…fire at him!" the Henchmen's leader yelled and then Bardock growled and put in all his force and managed to swing the tall henchman that had him in a lock and threw him at the other henchmen "Arggggghh!" they screamed as they fired their guns and also got squashed by the tall henchman " Ack!" Bardock yeeped as he dodged past the gunfire and made his way into the lab…Quartina then started to gag as the water started losing it's oxygen, Bardock then smashed open the tank and saw the small child wash out with the water and then she lay crying on the floor, Bardock kneeled down and crawled until he found her…since blood was coming down on his face now it was pretty hard to see, he picked her up and made his way out of the burning lab "Your gonna be okay…so don't cry otherwise all heck'll break loose on us got it?" he said to her, Quartina babbled and snuggled into him, Bardock then started to run as fast as possible, down the corridor, banging into them on the turns, but no matter how rough it was he was still keeping Quartina safe "Don't worry…your gonna be safe soon" he reassured her, Quartina then started to say her first word "Bar…Bar…Bardock" she said, Bardock looked down at her and smiled gently "That's cute kid…but now's not the time", Quartina still snuggled into him as he neared the shuttle bay, he finally found a space pod and wrapped her in a cloak he had and also tied a small pink ribbon softly round one of her little arms that said "Quartina" on it, then he strapped her in "Farewell little one…" he said softly to her as he pushed the launch mechanism and the space pod began to go "Bardock?" Little Quartina said in a puzzled way…as she saw Bardock begin to get further away as the pod went "Bardock? …Bardock!" she said, soon the pod drifted out into space and was already far away from Planet Vegeta, Bardock smiled "Your little girl is safe now Toma…" he said smiling…then he looked up into the sky "And there's something I must do too" he said…and then flew out into space to try and stop Freeza from blowing up the Planet…he put up the best fight he could but he was no match for the gigantic energyball that was fired towards the planet, however as he was dying he saw his last vision…it was his son Kakarrot as a grown up man…confronting Freeza on a strange planet "Kakarrot…my son…" he said " …when you are older…defeat Freeza…and get revenge for all the Sayains he has killed…" he said with his final words…and then he and several of Freeza's henchmen who had flown out to stop him were engulfed in the massive energyball and Bardock died a happy man…in knowing his son would get revenge for all the Sayains.

A new life.

Quartina was still puzzled by what happened back on Planet Vegeta, she wondered why her daddy hadn't come when she cried for him, she wondered why Bardock had looked so beaten up…and she also wondered where Radditz was, she was finally nearing a planet although she didn't really care too much about that, she really cared about seeing her dad again…and Bardock, Radditz and Celipa. When she drifted off to sleep she could see them all with her…having a small party in the lab…Bardock was chatting to Toma and Celipa and her and Radditz were just playing around…in her dream the lab was decorated especially for her big day and there was loads of food there…and presents and she looked up and smiled as her daddy picked her up and held her in a cradle motion, she could see his smiling face clearly…and felt the bodyheat from his body "Come on Quartina time for you to blow out the candle on your cake" he said to her, "Hey I'll help!" Radditz said bounding up and down slightly, Toma chuckled and held Quartina out to the birthday cake and just before she could blow out the candle…she was woken by a bump as her pod landed, upset by being woken up so rudely she started to cry…A soldier who was on patrol there heard her crying and went over to where she was "Oh my…" he kneeled down to her and lifted her out of her space pod "where'd you come from?" as he looked to the space pod and back at her "where DID you come from?!" he asked her…although she just giggled "Hmmm…maybe I better get you inside…" he paused as he looked at the ribbon "Quartina?" he looked at her as she started babbling "Is that your name?…heh why did I ask that…your only a baby…but if it's your name…it's a very unusual but pretty one" The soldier looked at her for a few minutes "Come on…we better get you indoors…heh I hope the Prof doesn't mind…" he just said and took her into the tall building.

Inside the building were loads of soldiers…and as anyone had guessed it was a military base but not for just any military…this was the Oz military base that had just been started up.

The soldier carried little Quartina past various rooms, which were the kitchen, weapons room, a training room and the soldiers sleeping quarters.

Finally after much walking the soldier got to an office "Um…sir?" the soldier asked "I found something that I think you might want to have a look at" he said, "Huh? Really Lt? And what's that?" a man with a scientist's lab coat came out of the office, he had dark brownish hair that was starting to go slightly grey…and he was balding, he also wore glasses.

"Well…I was just on patrol…and I found this little girl…" the Lt said and held out Quartina who was still wrapped in the cloak Bardock had wrapped her in, the Professor's eyes widened slightly "You mean…you just found this child all alone out there?" he asked, the Lt nodded "And sir…I know your not going to believe me…but I found her in some sort of space pod…" the young soldier said, the Professor looked at him blankly "Okay Lt…I know your crazy when you've had too much coffee…but claiming to of found this child in a space pod" he said, " But sir…look the men are bringing it in right at this moment" the Lt said and pointed to where two soldiers were bringing in a small pod, The Prof couldn't believe what he was seeing and went over to look at the pod straight away "Hmmm…I have to say…in all my years of being a scientist…I've never seen anything like it" he exclaimed as he examined the interior of the pod, in the meantime Quartina was playing with the straps on the Lt's helmet, batting them about, she gurgled, the Lt chuckled at her "Well…even if you may have come from outer-space your still like any baby I've ever seen" he said smiling < Although there was one I saw when I was going past a day-care center…it had wide eyes…and a wide mouth…and it wouldn't stop going "Haiiiiiiiiiiiii" > and the Lt shuddered slightly at that.

Finally the Professor finished his examination of the space pod and looked over to the Lt who was still holding Quartina "Well…we better have a look at this little girl then" he said "Bring her over to this examination table" and once she was on there, The Professor unwrapped the cloak "Hmmm…well she seems to be normal…" however he almost jumped out of his skin when one of the soldiers yelled "SIR SHE HAS A TAIL!" The Prof looked to the soldier "Don't be stupid a baby can't have a ta…" although he trailed off when he saw a small white tail just wag around as little Quartina looked up at the Professor and soldiers " Bardock Bardock" she just said and gurgled once again " …I can't believe what I'm seeing…a baby with a tail?!" "I know it's hard to believe sir…but it's true" the Lt said although one soldier came up with a theory "sirsirsir! Whatifshewassentfromaplanetthatwasbeingdestroyed…likeonSuperman!!" the other young soldier said although before the Professor could say anything the Lt spoke up " Have you been drinking all the coffee while on duty again?!! No wonder there's never any left when I wanna go hyper and talk really fast!!" The Professor sweatdropped as the Lt now started shouting at the other soldier for drinking all the coffee "Erm…could we get back to the matter at hand please?" "Oh…e-heh okay…sorry about that" Quartina then felt a small rumble in her stomach and whimpered "Erm…sir…I think the baby is hungry" "But what can we feed her…does she eat the same food as human babies?" "I don't know…hey sir maybe we could just see if she does eat the same type of food" after a discussion of what food the baby could have, the soldiers finally cooked up some home-made (or should I say "Military-made" ) baby food, "Okay…now we'll see if she likes it" the Lt said and put the bowl of food in front of Quartina, Quartina looked at the bowl with wide sparkling eyes and then pounced on it…and the soldiers watched, shocked as she ate all the food fast…and very nearly ate the bowl too, Quartina giggled but then paused as her stomach started rumbling again "Mnnnnnnn" she whimpered "Huh?…what's wrong with her?" one of the soldiers asked "If I didn't know any better…I'd say she's still hungry" the Professor took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes before putting the glasses back on "Well…then I guess we should let her eat more" "Okay…alright men you heard the Prof, make more baby food for her…on the double!" the Lt ordered the soldiers "Yes sir!" they yelled and went to make even more food.

Then after 24 bowls of baby food, Quartina was happy and just wagging her tail "Now…that's a baby who really loves her baby food!" one soldier exclaimed with a sweatdrop "E-heh…no kidding!" "Um…sir I think we'll have to get some more ingredients…" "Not to mention a few new bowls…" Most of the soldiers were talking all at the same time, although the Professor looked at the baby "I just don't get it…first you find her in a space pod…" he said to the Lt "And then we all see she has a little white tail…and NOW she's practically eaten us out of house and base!" "Um…sir…" the Lt said, trailing off and pointed to something, the Prof looked towards where the Lt was pointing and what he saw made him go ` O.o ?!' The little girl was now lifting up a dumbbell and just shaking it like a rattle " Okay…now I'm freaked…how could a small little baby…like her…pick up a massive great dumbbell…like that?!" one soldier pointed out, his voice seemed to shake with fear slightly " You don't suppose she came from the Planet Krypton do you?…Ow!" the soldier said after the Lt twapped him over the head "Don't be stupid…although she is showing an amazing display of strength for a baby" "Erm…maybe someone should get her to put that thing down…before she throws it at us" "Okay…erm…little girl?" "Quartina…" "Huh?!" the Prof looked towards the Lt "That's what it said on her little ribbon…Quartina…I reckon that's probably her name" "Ahh…okay…Quartina…please put down that dumbbell" The Prof said to her gently, Quartina looked at him and then put the dumbbell down "That's a good girl" the Prof said smiling although in his mind he was intrigued yet terrified at the same time, "What should we do sir?" the Lt asked the Prof although the Professor just shook his head "I don't know…I just don't know…maybe we should put her into a room for the night" The Lt nodded "I guess…but should we have guards to keep watch?" " Hmm…I guess so…take her to some sleeping quarters" the Lt nodded and picked up the little girl again "Come on Quartina" he said and took her to one of the sleeping quarters that had no-one sleeping there and tucked her into a bed "E-heh it's slightly big for you…but I'm sure you won't mind" the Lt said and smiled as she seemed to snuggle up in the bed he'd put her in.

Then the Lt walked out of there and went to go and get some coffee and one soldier stood outside Quartina's room, So little Quartina just laid in her bed looking up at the ceiling, her eyes were forever studying the shadow's that appeared on there, her mind began to wander from reality as one shadow seemed to turn into the outline of Bardock, even though it had been 4 days since she saw him for the last time she still remembered how he looked, Then she saw another shadow seem to turn into the outline of Radditz…and another one became Celipa and another one became her daddy `Toma'…and there they were…the 4 Sayains that she had felt close too…right there, Quartina gurgled and reached her little chubby arms up to them but for some reason no matter how much she reached out to them she couldn't reach them…she began to whimper and all of a sudden she felt a breeze blow into the room she managed to sit up and look into a corner of the room, where the darkness was, there she saw the young Prince in his normal form, he was smirking and had his arms folded "So you call yourself a Sayain?" he said to her, Her eyes widened a little and she whimpered but he just laughed back at her "And to think…you were going to be the next heir to the throne…you would never live up to that job…" he said to her…his mocking voice echoing in her mind all the time "You know as well as I do that I lost that match because of Radditz…if he hadn't of butted in…I could of beaten you to a pulp…in fact we could have a rematch now…" He grinned and suddenly began to transform into a giant ape, Quartina almost screamed as she now had a Giant Ape towering over her and for some reason it was all dark around them and she felt that she was sitting on nothing…when she was sure a bed had been there before…but that didn't worry her at the minute all that mattered to her was to become an Oozuru and fight Prince Vegeta in his Oozuru form…otherwise if she didn't she would be squashed, she then turned tail and began crawling like mad, the Prince saw this and laughed loudly "What's the matter? …Can't find your daddy?!" he roared and began stomping after her, she looked up into the darkness that was above her trying desperately to find a moon but she couldn't see one…then all of a sudden Vegeta fired a mouth blast at her and it seemed to hit the "ground" just behind her, she found herself tumbling through the darkness and landed somewhere fairly hard, She opened her eyes and looked weakly at where Vegeta was "Oh yes…you are indeed a weakling…a proper Sayain would of fought back by now" he just growled, his tail swishing angrily, Quartina just whimpered and then just started yelling things in total baby talk at him, " SILENCE WEAKLING!" He snarled at her and began to ready another attack, Quartina managed to stand on her own two feet and managed to growl at him, he then fired an attack at her and when Quartina saw it coming for her she screamed and powered up…an orange aura surrounding her and she then somehow flew out of the way before it hit her and then somehow fired a small beam of energy which just singed the fur on his legs, Vegeta looked down to her "Ahh…so you do have some fight in you after all" his voice boomed around her, Quartina just yelled out a "Ga!!" to him…although she then lost her footing and fell on her butt, Vegeta then threw back his head laughing at her, his sharp fangs glistened somehow and Quartina guessed that there was a moon around there somewhere, she looked around…and then looked up and BINGO! There was a moon in the darkness, she then began to transform, for the second time, into a Giant albino ape.

Vegeta then looked back at her but smirked showing all his fangs "You may of transformed little lady…but your still no match for me…after all…you only singed the fur on my legs" he said to her, she roared yet again…unable to control herself and began stomping around in a crazed rage, Vegeta just grinned and began concentrating on making an energy ball, Quartina then roared and charged at him, she was ready to fight him…to prove she wasn't weak and he had no right to tease her in the way he did.

However as soon as she reached him…he disappeared as did the darkness and she was in her room again since it had only been a dream, and she was just a little girl again, however she was wild with anger and was snarling with wild eyes at the shadows, convinced they were just the Prince playing a horrid trick on her she began to launch herself at them…with her feet aiming at the walls…she smacked into them and was sent flying back…she then sat up and got to her knees again…she looked around and straight at a window…and she could see a pointy outline…she thought it was the prince and crawled at it and found herself smacking against the glass, causing it to shatter and she fell on the ground outside.

Now aching slightly she got to her knees slowly and then noted that the pointy outline had just been a bush…although she was more curious to see how the shadow had been projected, she looked up into the night sky and then her eye pupils shrank down when she saw the moon yet again and slowly felt all those feelings she got when she transformed the first time come back to her.

" SIR SIR! …WE HAVE AN EMERGENCY SIR!" a soldier yelled after he came bursting into the coffee room "Huh?…why what's happened?" the Prof asked "We have a giant white ape stomping around outside sir!" the soldier said, his eyes wide and full of fear, "What?!!" The Prof spluttered and hurried out of the room alongside the Lt and several soldiers, Outside there was the giant white ape, just stomping and blasting at things that weren't too far away from the building " But what about the little girl? …She was still in her room!" the Lt said, "Okay…Lt you go and get her…and we'll be trying to get that beast under control" the Lt nodded and began running to where Quartina had been, when he opened the door he saw dents in the wall where she had kicked at it after her bad dream, he then noticed the window had been smashed "Oh my…" he ran over to where the window lead to the outside and saw her handprints in the ground "Well at least she's oka…" he trailed off as he noticed as her handprints went in a trail…they seemed to get bigger and bigger and then he looked up at where the giant ape was and then put two and two together "NO WAY!!" he just yelled in shock and went to find the Prof and the other soldiers.

The Prof and the soldiers were trying to keep the ape from stamping on the building and the Prof was discussing issues with the General "Sir, sir! Don't hurt the ape!" the Lt shouted as he ran up to them "Huh?! Are you crazy?…if we don't hurt that beast it's going to destroy the building…and will probably try and destroy us not too long after!" The General yelled, although the Prof was interested as to why they shouldn't hurt it "And why shouldn't we Lt?" he asked, the young soldier wasted no time in telling them " …and when I got to her room…the window was smashed…and there were her little handprints outside…and as they went on…well they got larger and larger…so it must be Quartina!" The Professor looked shocked but tried not to believe it "It…it can't be…that's ridiculous…I mean…a little baby transforming into a gigantic destructive ape…" although his tone of voice was awkward and shaking "Sir I'm not making it up" The Lt assured him "But…if that is her…then what can we do?!" The General asked, "I'm not too sure" The Prof sighed…then blinked as the morning sun began to show over the faraway hills, The Giant white ape looked and roared as it looked at the sunlight, then it roared again even louder this time "Huh…hey sir…something's happening to the ape!" one soldier called out "Hnnn?" The Prof looked at the ape…and sure enough it was starting to shrink downwards…until there was little Quartina just sitting on the ground looking puzzled.

The soldiers went down to her slowly and carefully so as not to frighten her, just in case she transformed into a Giant Ape again "Do you think it's safe to go near her?" "I hope so!" then Quartina just yawned and fell back…as soon as she landed on the ground she was fast asleep.

One of the soldier's blinked at that and picked her up and looked at her, she was just smiling sweetly in her sleep "Sir…this is strange…she's just sleeping like nothing ever happened" he said as he walked back up to the Prof, Lt and General, but indeed something had happened, around the huge base, some parts of the land had been flattened and some of the vegetation that had been there was gone, "What shall we do sir?" the Lt asked the Professor who looked at the sleeping baby girl "We have to do something about that tail of hers" "Hmm…hey sir! Maybe we could install a membrane deep into her tail…that way if she ever transformed into that giant albino ape again, we could stop her from destroying buildings and people" the General suggested, the Professor nodded "Yes that seems like the only thing we can do" And so they took her to the examination table yet again and the Professor injected a special type of control/calming membrane deep into her tail but he also gave her a booster shot against diseases, Quartina awoke with a start and started to cry " Hey hey it's alright" the Lt said softly and picked her up and cradled her while the Professor dabbed the part where it was bleeding with a piece of cotton "There's a good girl"

Then the Professor put another fresh diaper on her and dressed Quartina in a little blue dress, he then finally tied her hair up in the little pink ribbon and held her up " Sir…what are you doing?" asked a soldier "I'm going to get this child adopted…she can't stay here all her life" he said "But sir…what about Quartina's tail?" "We'll have to cut it off…" "WHAT?! …but sir, if you cut off her tail what if it doesn't grow back?!" The Lt yelled although the Professor shrugged with one shoulder " Lt…even if her tail's cut off, the membrane will still be there and just because the tail get's cut off doesn't mean it won't grow back…anyway…Lt…before we hand her over to her new parents…I think it'll be best if we wipe her memory of where she came from…not all of it…but just so she doesn't feel scared" the Lt nodded and fetched a small device and held it near her head, then he pressed a button and then Quartina's eyes widened as everything she ever knew about her homeworld was forgotten, the memory of all the Sayains she saw in that bar, The fight with Prince Vegeta, Her father Toma and soon-to-be-mother Celipa forgotten, Radditz and Bardock and Bardock rescuing her from the planet became mere flashes in her mind, then she just sat there gurgling and babbling and didn't even note it when the Lt sliced off her tail with his army knife although she did jump a little bit, the Professor then took her out to this couple's place and held them out to her " This child's parents perished…she needs someone who will look after her" The couple looked at little Quartina and she looked back at them and gurgled and held out her chubby arms to them, the young woman smiled and held little Quartina "She seems to of taken a liking to you two already" The Professor smiled as the man smiled and nodded " Yes…we'll adopt her…heh…what's her name?" "Her name is Quartina" " Awwwww sweetheart isn't that a pretty name…and it suits her too" The Woman said as she started cooing at Quartina, the Man nodded and smiled softly and very soon the Professor walked back to the base and Quartina was now with a loving family and at the same time in a different place on Earth, Little Kakarrot was found and adopted by a kind old man named Son Gohan…and he named the baby Son Goku and although the child was difficult and out of control…he fell down a ravine and hit his head, Gohan then nursed the boy back to health and Goku became a peace loving boy…and the future defender of Earth…and he also lived up to Bardock's last words to him…and blasted Freeza to bits, he got revenge for all the Sayains that Freeza had killed and if Bardock had been watching over his son he would of surely been proud.
