The Crystal Saga - Part 5 - Resident Evil



(This is set sometime during Resident Evil 2 since that is my favourite game of the series)




Ryoko:What the hell are those things?

Me:I don't know.But I can't sense any power from them.

Goku:Me neither.

Vegeta:Perhaps they aren't real.

Gohan:They look real to me.

The things continued to move towards us.They looked human but there eyes were blank and they
had blood dripping from them aswell as flesh missing or dropping off them.

Ryoko:I think I'm going to be sick.

We backed away until we hit a large metal door.The things had surrounded us and kept
coming closer.

Me:I'm warning you,stay back.

Bulma had begun banging on the door.

Bulma:HELP!IF ANYBODY'S THERE LET US IN!

The door swung open and we darted through it and slammed it shut.

Man:Who are you?

Me:Forget who we are.What are those things?

Man:I don't really know.They seem to be some kind of zombies.

Me:Zombies?Where did they come from?

Man:First we better find somewhere a little more secure to stop and talk.

We ran off down a corridor and upon turning a corner we were met by a horde of zombies.There
was a crash behind us and more zombies were coming from a smashed part of the wall.

Woman:We're surrounded!

Me:Alright guys,let's show them what we're made of!Kamehameha!

I blasted the almost all the zombies in front of us but the other zombies didn't seem to notice.
Goku,Vegeta and Gohan blasted the rest and it seemed clear for now at least.We continued down
the corridor and found a secure room we could stay in for a while.

Man:Just who are you people?

I explained who we were and needless to say they hardly believed us,but eventually we
managed to convince them.

Me:So who are you and what happened here?

Man:My name's Leon Kennedy.

Woman:I'm Claire Redfield.

Leon:I just got here for my first day on the job but I found the city like this.

Claire:I came looking for my brother but he left before this all started.

Me:How did things get like this?

Leon:What we know is that a company called Umbrella have been developing some kind of Virus
in labs near the city.It was supposed to be some kind of biogenic weapon but something
went wrong at the lab and the virus got out into the city.The Virus turns people into
those mindless zombies you just saw.We think there's a cure for it before you become a
zombie but after that it's too late.

Me:Does that mean we could be infected aswell?

Leon:No,It isn't airborn.It's passed on by one of those things biting you.

Me:So as long as we don't let them get anywhere near us we should be fine?

Leon:Yeah.But now we have to get out of the city.

Claire:And all the roads are blocked.The entire city is sealed.There's no way out.

Me:What about the air?Could we fly out?

Leon:Huh?Well I suppose we could but we don't have any type of aircraft.

Me:Don't worry.We can fly.We could just carry you out.

Claire:Wait!What about any other survivors?If anyone else managed to survive we have to find
them.

Vegeta:We don't have time.We need to get out of this city as soon as possible.

Bulma:Actually we don't want to leave.The crystal piece is somewhere in the city.

Me:Just our luck.Where?

Bulma:Let me point it out on this map.

Bulma walked over to a map on the wall and pointed at where the Crystal piece was.

Leon:Those are the secret Umbrealla labs where the Virus was made.

Me:Why is the crystal piece always in the worst place possible?We can't ever get a break.Just
once I'd like it to appear next to us.

Goku:This is no time to complain.We have to get them out of the city and then get the crystal
fragment.

Leon:I'm not leaving.I want to see the labs and find out exactly what happened in this city.

Claire:Me too.

Me:Fine,let's get going then.I suppose we have to walk if we're going to find any survivors?

Goku:I think so,we can't sense the low power levels of people we don't know from a distance.
We have to be pretty close.

Vegeta:Enough talk.It is time to leave here.

Me:Calm down Vegeta,you'll give yourself a heart attack.

Vegeta:Do not talk to me like that you insolent kid.

Me:Oh shut up,I could and have beaten you in a fight so don't make me do it again.

Vegeta kept quiet but still kept his usual angry look.It was enough,at least he wasn't
going on about how superior he was to everyone else.

We left the room and the corridor looked safe so we stepped out and began walking.After
about 10 minutes we got out of the building we had been in.The streets were practically
crawling with zombies before but now there weren't any to be seen.

Me:Where are they?

Ryoko:Who cares?As long as they aren't near us.

Me:No,I mean,where are all the ones that surrounded us before?They shouldn't have gone far,
there's no way out of these streets.

Goku:He's right.

Vegeta:They were probably the ones we blasted back in there.

Me:No,there were a lot more when we got here.Something must have happened.

Vegeta:Like what?

Me:How would I know?!If you're so much better than all of us why don't you figure it out?!

Goku:Hey!I thought I heard something.

Gohan:Me too.

There was a weird noise from behind a nearby junk-pile,like someone,or something,was trying
to push it over.

Me:It must be them.

Goku:No,I can sense whatever is behind there,we couldn't sense those zombies.

We slowly walked over to the junk-pile but before we got to it something burst through it.
And whatever it was it wasn't human.It was some kind of 8 feet tall and looked very angry.
(It's Nemesis from Resident Evil 3,although for the sake of this fic I'm going to say that
2 of them were created and this is the second one)

Gohan:What is that?

Ryoko:I'm scared.

Ryoko grabbed me and buried her face in my shoulder.I could feel her shaking in fear.

The monster stopped moving and looked at us as we slowly backed away.It suddenly ran at us
and we only just managed to get out of the way.Leon and Claire pumped Shotgun shells into
it's back and it's front and it's head when it turned around.

Leon:I don't think it likes us.

I tried using my free arm to blast the monster but it ducked out of the way.

Me:It's smarter than the other zombies.

The monster began moving towards us again and showed no signs of stopping.

Vegeta:I'll dispose of this thing.

Vegeta sent a large blast at the monster.It was engulfed by the energy but emerged unharmed.

Vegeta:Impossible.How did it survive?

Me:Who cares?I don't think there are any people around here so I suggest we get out of here.

Gohan:I think he's right,we can come up with a plan later.

We grabbed hold of anyone who couldn't fly and took off.We saw the monster looking up at us
then walk away where it had come from.

Me:Looks like it's given up on us.

We flew a little towards the lab and landed on a clear street.

Pan:What was that dad?

Gohan:I don't know.But I think we lost it.

Me:Guys!I think there's someone in that building.

Goku:You're right.Let's go.

We entered the building which seemed clear at least for now.

Goku:Whoever it is they're upstairs,let's go.

We walked up te stairs to the 2nd floor and heard a low whimpering coming from a room.The door
was locked so we had no choice but to pull it off.Inside was a little girl,no older than 6.

Girl:Wh-Who are you?

Me:We're here to help you.

The girl slowly got up to come towards us when the wall behind her collapsed and a dozen
zombies came through.One of them grabbed the girl and before we could react it was eating her.
After a few bites it let go and started to come towards us along with the others.

Gohan:Let's get out of here!

Me:NO!That was just a little girl!I'll make you pay for that!

My anger caused me to power up to Super Saiyan and blast the zombies with a huge blast which
took out most of the building we were in and a few others behind this one aswell.When the
dust settled the others had flew to safety to protect anyone who wouldn't have been able to
survive.I powered down and flew up to join them.

Me:Sorry,my anger got the better of me.

Goku:Don't worry,I understand how you feel.

Me:We better go,we have to get the crystal piece and get out of this hell-hole.

We got back to the road and walked towards the lab blasting zombies and rubble along the way.
We didn't find any more survivors on our way.There were probably a few people somewhere in
the city but we didn't have time to look for them.We eventually came to a large service
elevator which we activated and began to slowly descend.We sat down to rest inside the
large cabin.

Me:I think we have to destroy this city before we leave.We can't let this virus spread.

Goku:But there could still be people left here,people that survived.

Me:I know,but,I'm looking on a larger scale here.I'm always first to try and save lives but
we have to think about the rest of the people on this planet.

Vegeta:So,maybe you have a little real Saiyan in you after all.What are a few lives in this
city compared to all the lives of the other people on this planet.

Me:Besides,if the governments of this world are anything like ours as soon as they find out
what's happening here then they'll nuke the place.

Leon:Nuke?You can't be serious.

Me:I'm totally serious.They'll probably just saw it was terrorists or something.

Leon:Then we better hurry.We have to get out of this city soon.If the government doesn't know
by now then it won't be long before they find out.

Claire:But after they leave how do we get out of the city?

Bulma:I think I know.I've been studying this diagram and I've found a secret underground
tunnel.It's designed for freight trains and there's no chance of there being any zombies
in the tunnel because it's sealed by doors that can only be operated from on the train.
And from comparing the locator readings and this diagram it looks like the fragment is
on-board the train anyway.

The lift stopped moving and we stepped out.There was a lit corridor nearby so we followed it
and came out into a large room.The walls were covered with monitors and keyboards.

Me:This must be some kind of control room.

A zombie came out from behind a large machine.It looked like it had been one of the scientists.
I just used a low-level blast and got rid od it.We didn't have time to waste.

Bulma:I think I can download a map of this place into the locator to help us through here from
the main computer here.

Bulma tapped a few buttons and the screens all came on but just displayed static,except one.
It displayed the lab and people working,probably before any of this happened.Then it went
blank before switching to another image of the lab.The date indicated only a few days ago.The
room was full of scientists with guns and they looked scared.There was a banging noise in the
background when suddenly the scientists started shooting,at first in one direction then there
was a loud clang noise and they began firing in another direction aswell.We watched on and
saw zombies coming on to the screen and feeding from the scientists.Eventually it was all
over and the zombies just began wandering until one of them tried to eat the camera and the
picture turned to static like the others.

Pan:I feel sick.

Videl:Me too honey,how could anything like this happen?

Me:We don't have time to think about it,we have to get out of here quickly.

Bulma:Alright,I've got a map,looks like the quickest way to the underground statiom is through
that door.

Bulma pointed at a doorway covered in bloodstains and so was the corridor.

Pan:Isn't there another way?

Bulma:Yeah,but it takes us all the way around the lab,we might not have enough time.

Gohan:It's ok honey,Me and your Mom will be right here with you.Besides,you can easily take
care of yourself.

Pan:Ok Dad.

Me:Ok,let's get going.

We made our way down the corridor and managed to get nearly all the way to the station without
encountering any zombies at all.In one of the last corridors before the station we heard a
dripping sound.Blood was dripping from an air-vent in the ceiling.I didn't like it,something
was wrong.

Me:Wait here guys.

Ryoko:What is it?

Me:I don't know,something's not right here.

I slowly walked over to the vent which suddenly collapsed and some kind of creature landed
on the floor.It looked like a person with no skin walking on it's hands aswell as its feet.
I was about to move back when it's tounge lunged out at me.I only just grabbed it before it
probably would have punched a hole right through me.

Me:What the hell?!

The monster made some kind of high-pitched scream noise before trying to pull its tounge
back.

Me:Shame I don't have more time,I could have fun doing this.

I let go of the creatures tounge and blasted it.

Me:Let's go guys,we don't know how much time we probably have.

We got to the station through a sealed door which we manually opened and closed,we didn't
want anything getting through and possibly escaping.We boarded the train and started it up.
The large metal doors opened and the train slowly rolled through them and the doors closed
behind us.The train sped up and went through the second door.

Bulma:All right,looks like the fragment is in the back of the train.

Me:I'll get it.

I made my way through the train and picked up the fragment.I walked back to the door when
there was a thud.I looked back and part of the roof had dented inwards.I was about to check
it out when there was another thud and more of the roof dented.The thudding continued
until the monster from before smashed through the roof.Before I could react it charged me
and threw me through the walls back into the cabin at the front of the train.

Me:Ow.

Goku:What the?What happened?

Me:The monster from before.It's on the train.

Goku:We gotta kill it.

Me:This one's mine,nobody smashes into me like that and gets away with it.

I opened the door and the monster was already in the carriage next to the cabin.

Me:Time for you to die!

I powered up to Super Saiyan 3 and blasted the monster.It managed to move slightly but I did
get rid of it's left arm.

Me:I wont miss this time!

I blasted again and managed to take out the rest of the monster,but I accidently took out
half the train aswell.Fortunatly the engines were in the fron so we were alright.I powered
down and turned to face the others.

Me:Sorry about that.I guess I got a little carried away.But we're alright aren't we?

Gohan:Yeah,the engines are in the front of the train so we should be ok.

Bulma:Guys,the train has a link up with the main computer in the lab,and that caomputer has
a link with a surveillance satellite,it shows a nuclear missile will hit the city in
2 minutes.

Ryoko:We should be clear by then shouldn't we?

Bulma:No,it'll take us 3 minutes to get clear of the blast area.

Leon:What do we do?

Goku:There isn't enough room in the tunnel for us to fly aswell as the train.

Me:You guys hear of rocket propulsion?

Goku:Of course,why?

I went to the back of the train and faced the large hole.

Me:Well start propelling.

I made myself secure and blasted back into the tunnel,the train gained more speed but I
could tell it wasn't enough.

Goku:I get it.

Goku,Gohan and Vegeta did the same as I had and we manage to double the speed of the train.

Bulma:We're clear I think,but don't stop!We need as much distance as possible.

After another minute we heard an explosion.There was a distant light down the tunnel which
had to be the nuke.Just then we came out of the tunnel and could see the giant cloud in the
distance.

Leon:So long Racoon City.

Me:So long zombies.

Claire:Now I have to find my brother,and get pay-back Umbrella for what they've done.

The train slowly came to a stop at a small abandoned station.There was a car parked outside
which Leon and Claire could use.

Leon:We better get going.Thanks for everything you guys.

Claire:Yeah,maybe we'll see you again some day.

Me:I doubt it,good luck on finding your brother.

We watched as they drove away.Before turning back to Vegeta and moving in.I handed him the
fragment.He placed it with the others and the nearly complete crystal glowed.

Me:Here we go.

Ryoko:Just one more piece and we're home.

The crystal flashed and we found ourselves in the blue tunnel again.We fell into the light
and found ourselves somewhere else.I looked around and saw we were just outside what looked
like a house.There was also a lake nearby and a lot of trees.
