Prologue of The Darker Side Of The Moon: The Space Angel

"You still haven't told me what I get out of this Trek," A very bored teenage girl with long silver hair in a tight bun and red eyes said quietly while twirling her black pistol in her fingers. She was sitting in an almost desolate space bar with a would-be client who was boring her to death. She crossed her left leg over her right and put her free arm on the table while her hand held her chin as she examined her pistol. She left her drink in front of her untouched, knowing better than to take a sip from a drink paid for you by another, especially a man of Trek's composure.

"Yes of course, what will Mizu get if she does this you ask?" The short man with thinning gray hair and a droopy mustache responded with a slow voice. "I will pay you very well, very well." He emphasized leaning closer to her.

She glanced up at him and frowned, "How much is very well?-a couple pathetic yen?"

Her client shook his head and smirked at her slyly "I'll pay you anything you want my dear, Mizu."

Mizu felt his wrinkly hand stroke her thigh gently which cause her to pull out her switchblade and held it as his throat threateningly, "Don't pull any shit with me because I can tell you it would be very unpleasant from this blade to saw through your neck!" She pushed the blade against his flesh lightly and a small stream of blood trickled down his neck.

Trek still smiled, "Sorry, I'll keep my hands to myself. Now, may we continue with the my business proposition or are you going to skill me dear Mizu. "

Mizu withdrew her blade and shoved it back into her jean pocket scowling at him with great dislike, "Continue please." she spat dryly at him. She wish she could slit his throat but chances probably were that he was low on the food chain for a Black Market tycoon and she didn't want to take the chances of a tyrant coming after her again.

He adjusted his thin rimmed glasses, "Like I said, I'll pay you if you kill the saiyans on Earth."

"Saiyans…" she whispered thoughtfully, not liking how the word rolled off her tongue at all, "What and who are they?"

"They're an incredible race of fighters that is nearly extinct." He elaborated for her and told her how at the full moon they could transform into gigantic monkeys (if they had their tails). Trek also explained to her that there were only two full-fledged saiyans left and five half breeds.

She made a clicking sound with her tongue than spoke softly when he was finished, "If they are as great and mighty as you say, I shall encounter some problems with this assignment."

"You say you are the best bounty hunter in this quadrant of the galaxy," he took a sip of beer and gazed at her drunkenly. "Did you know you're quite attractive." He leered at her.

She groaned in disgust, "You men are all alike, pigs every last one of you."

He grinned, "It's the truth my dear."

A small blush crept across her face and she fought it before it become too visible, "I'll take the job." she stood up, wishing very much to get away from Trek who was giving her looks that made her feel uncomfortable. She had received such looks before and knew that he was picturing himself having sex with her. "Bastard…" she murmured hardly audible. "Just tell me what my pay is and I'm out of here." She folded her arms across her chest after she had placed her pistol back in it's holster that was on her belt.

He chuckled darkly, "It depends how quickly you catch the saiyans actually. I want the two full-fledged saiyans alive and kill all save one half-breed."

She nodded as he handed her his number on a small card, "Call me when you make any progress Mizu." He drained the rest of his drink and left the bar hurriedly.

Mizu stared after him then pocketed the card and buttoned up her black denim jacket.

"Strange one isn't he?" The bartender said as he was cleaning a glass with a dirty rag, "Don't know how you mix up with that kind of lot Mizu."

"Gotta do what you gotta to stay alive Talon." She replied scratching the back of her head wearily.

Talon put the glass down and sighed, "Mizu…I know I promised your parents I wouldn't let anything bad happen to you, but I got a bad feeling from him and what he wants you to do."

"How hard can it be?" She glanced over to her glass on the table, "Did you see him put anything in this?" Mizu asked as she picked it up and sniffed it.

"No, I reckon it's okay."

"Good, I'm thirsty." She drank the contents of the glass quickly and handed it to Talon, "We'll, I'll be going then. See you."

She walked out of the bar ignoring the further protesting of Talon and over to her small spaceship that was docked out in front. She took pride in having her own vehicle since not many teenagers had one, nor were they infamous bounty hunters either. The shiny metal glimmered in the light the bar's sign was giving off. On the side of the ship, engraved in red, orange and yellow fiery cursive bold letters were, The Space Angel and next to it was a decal of a skull and crossbones.

Mizu climbed into her ship and seated herself in her captain's seat. She fished the keys out of her pocket and put them into the ignition and flipped on some of the red and green switches in front of her. She typed the password for her navigation computer on the keyboard that was beside the steering stick.

"Welcome back Mizu," the navigation's computer voice said in it's inhuman voice, "Where do you want to go?"

"To a place called Earth." she said while checking the engine pressure to make sure everything was working fine. The computer screen than showed an embellished map of where she currently was and the safest and quickest way to Earth, indicating it with a white dotted line. "Thanks Lynx."

"No problem Mizu." the computer replied, "Do you want me to autopilot?"

"Nah, it's okay. It's only a few thousand light-years away Lynx." Mizu told the computer feeling rather silly. "Everything working?"

"Yes."

"Alright." A smile began curling upon her lips as she felt the childish urge for adventure taking over herself. "Let's go."
