Chapter 15 - King Vegeta?
Raddoon entered Kakarotto’s tent, and was surprised to see his furs were empty. Raddoon glanced towards the back of the
tent and saw Kakarotto’s legs through the tent flap standing just outside. Raddoon made his way out to him.
Kakarotto looked like hell, his face pale and his body trembling from the pain he still endured.
“You should be resting. The medicines alone would knock out anyone else.”
Kakarotto merely stared off into space, fury in his dark eyes, jaw clenched and working.
Raddoon stared at the fury on Kakarotto’s face for several minutes, the warrior seeming unable to put his angry thoughts
into words.
Finally, Kakarotto spoke, “I’m going to kill him.”
“Yes. I know. But now you must rest.”
“No. I will not rest. I will kill him.”
Raddoon put a hand on Kakarotto’s bare back, sliding it down to where his tail poked through his braes. He lightly fondled
Kakarotto at the base of his tail, changing the angry look on Kakarotto’s face to one of quiet serenity.
“I will do what I have to in order to get you back to your furs.”
Kakarotto turned, a surprised look on his face. He would have been angered to know that he never looked more like his
nemesis with the innocence that surprise inspired in his features.
“You said no more.” Kakarotto searched his former lover’s face for confirmation that he had heard him right.
Raddoon’s eyes hardened. “I will see to it that you will have your revenge, Rotto.” Raddoon trailed his fingers down the
bruises on Kakarotto’s torso, the fingers causing goose bumps to break out on the warrior’s chest. The sound of Raddoon’s
voice betrayed his anger over the injuries that Kakarotto suffered.
Kakorotto softened at the use of his nickname, by the only person that would ever dare such familiarity with him.
Raddoon pulled on Kakarotto’s strong arm and saw the warrior wince. It was remarkable that Kakarotto was even able to stand.
But that was the secret behind Kakarotto’s immense power, well, one secret anyway, the other being his stealth and
cunning. He always bounced back from the worst of injuries. It was often said that if Kakarotto were to ever lose a limb,
he would just tie it back on with leather thongs so that he could continue to fight. That, or he’d use the severed limb to
beat his foe senseless.
Raddoon pulled Kakarotto in his tent, and then did something he had sworn he would never do again. He leaned in and kissed
the warrior, suggestion in the way he moved his lips.
Kakarotto trembled into the embrace, having missed this. Raddoon had stopped their affair months ago, declaring that
Kakarotto was being too manipulative with him.
Kakarotto smiled into his kiss.
After he killed that traitorous Kakarot, Kakarotto would use his renewed love with Raddoon to grasp at the power he knew
was within their reach.

Before Vegeta could speak, Goku interrupted, further angering the Saiyan Prince, “We should go somewhere private to talk.”
Goku’s grim manner spoke of the seriousness of the situation. That, combined with the look of fierce determination on
Vegeta’s face told both Vegit and Nardon that the discussion would be anything but pleasant.
Nardon felt fear for the first time in the presence of these strong warriors, frightened of what they were capable of doing.
He stared at his brother’s back, waiting to see his reaction.
Vegit’s eyes, although retaining his polite expression, narrowed slightly. Vegit, although sensing that the discussion
would be displeasing, remained friendly as he spoke, “Why sure. I know where we can talk.” Vegit lead the way out of
the tent. As Vegit passed Goku, Goku saw his eyes harden.
Vegeta and Goku followed after Nardon. Once they were outside, Vegit spoke in a friendly manner with a few Saiyans just
entering the tent, keeping up the facade of happy banter and merriment. Once done, he rose into the air, the three
other Saiyans’ following him.
Vegit flew to just outside the outskirt of the camp, not far from the main tent where they had just been. Stopping in
mid-air, the large warrior turned and asked, “Is this private enough?”
Vegeta grunted, “Yes.” Goku nodded.
When they landed, it was clear that Goku moved to stand off to the side. This conversation, although in Goku’s presence,
was happening outside any wish of his. Nardon stared at Goku’s grim face and knew it. Vegit glanced from Goku to Vegeta.
To Vegeta, Vegit asked, “What is it that you want to speak to me about, Cousin?”
Vegeta’s eyes hardened, his face becoming an almost unreadable mask. Nardon felt his own body tense in response as he
looked over his brother’s shoulder at the small warrior.
Vegeta seemed to be mulling over how to start. After a long moment of silence, Vegeta finally spoke, “You cannot become
King.”
Vegit and Nardon blinked. Vegit spoke, “I don’t understand, Cousin. What do you mean?”
“I will not let you become King.”
Vegit’s eyes hardened, his face no longer showing any signs of friendship. Sounding much like the warrior he faced, Vegit
spat, “Explain yourself!”
Vegeta smiled then and in response Goku felt a shiver travel down his spine. He looked like the Vegeta of old. “Simple.
It is I who will become King of the Saiyan race.”
“How dare you!” Nardon interrupted, looking as if he would charge at Vegeta. Vegit held him back with one strong arm,
pushing the younger warrior back, causing him to stumble. Still, Nardon continued his shouting, “Who do you think you
are?! You’ve done nothing for our people! What makes you think they would even follow you?!”
“Quiet Nardon!” Vegit silenced his younger brother instantly with the hard sound of his voice.
Vegit continued, to Vegeta, “What my brother says is true. You have no history here. I’ve never heard of you before you
came to this camp. I know you are a formidable warrior, Cousin.” Vegit now added a sneer to the use of the word, “Cousin.”
“But not as formidable as you obviously think in your own ego-flooded mind. If you were anything special, word of you
would have spread.” And then Vegit, showing some of the traits of the Vegit family line, added, “And it is obvious you
hide behind your lover here. Kakarot is the real warrior of the two of you.”
Goku winced at the words, knowing they would only tip Vegeta over the edge. Goku was surprised to hear Vegeta respond in a
calm voice, but soon detected the underlying current of uncontrolled anger in the way he said, “If you believe that, then
you only prove my point. You are a fool.”
The two faced each other over a ten foot distance. Vegeta walked a step or two closer to Vegit, the other warrior,
widening his stance if an attack should come his way. “I have watched this slovenly group you would have me believe are
Saiyans. These are NOT the Saiyans I know. I could obliterate this entire camp with one movement of my hand. And there
is nothing that any of you would be able to do to stop me. You are all weak,” Vegeta gave Vegit a sneering once-over, “fat,
and lazy. You drink yourselves into a stupor each night. Do any of you train? Obviously not. I had always wondered what
took our ancestors so long in toppling that damned poor excuse of a Tuffle race, and now I know. You were all weaklings
and cowards. And YOU,” Vegeta pointed at Vegit’s chest, “are perfectly happy in letting this ridiculous behavior continue.
You want to be so liked that you put your own people at risk by letting them carry on with this sloth. You are a poor
excuse for a leader, patting yourself on the back for toppling a few pretty buildings. You say you united the Saiyan Race?
Well Kakarot and I have seen that you have done anything but that. You are a complete joke and I will not stand by and
pretend respect for so obvious a dolt as you.”
Vegit’s face reddened, no one ever daring to speak to him with such callous disregard before this. He widened his stance
further and proclaimed, “Well, Cousin. It seems you will have to test this “fool,” as you wish to call me. I will not
let you come in like some spoiled brat and claim what isn’t yours. You will have to kill me for what is rightfully mine.
And I assure you, I will not let you do that.”
Nardon only stammered incoherently behind his brother, rage transforming his face.
Vegeta laughed mirthlessly, his eyes hard and unsmiling as he stared down Vegit.
Goku tensed, ready to act to prevent this insanity.
Vegeta gave a derisive grunt, then said, “Fine. So be it.”
Vegeta held his arm straight out, palm flexed upward, energy collecting in a ball directed at Vegit’s chest. Vegit roared
in anger as he too started to collect two balls of energy in each fist.
Vegeta chuckled and sent the blast Vegit’s way.
At the last moment, dawning horror lighted on the large warrior’s face and that of his younger brother’s. Both knew that
the blast would disintegrate them where they stood.
The thought that played through Vegit’s mind was, He had done it so effortlessly.
But, appearing in an instant in front of them, as if he materialized from one point to another, Goku swatted the blast
aside as he would a fly.
“Stop it, Vegeta!”
The blast hurtled toward a nearby hill, exploding it into a fiery spray, the explosion lighting the night skies into
thousands of sparks. Vegit and Nardon stared at what remained of the smoldering hill in complete shock. They had never
seen such power before, let alone to see it tossed aside with ease. They knew they had Goku to thank for their lives.
“Shut up Kakarot! This doesn’t concern you. Now move!”
“No Vegeta. If you want to kill Vegit, then you’re going to have to go through me to do it!”
Hearing Goku’s words above the hammering in his chest, part of Vegit was relieved. For a brief moment, when the
conversation was initiated, Vegit thought Goku would play a part in Vegeta’s plan.
“I am not playing around, Clown. Get out of the way.”
Goku widened his stance, preparing for battle, determination in his eyes. “I will do no such thing, Vegeta.”
Vegeta seemed to lose all sense of reason at that point, Vegit and Nardon backing away in reaction to the mad display of his
face contorting in uncontrollable rage. With little time to react, the brothers watched as Vegeta flew towards Goku. Once
Vegeta was within a foot of Goku, Vegit and Nardon watched in horror as the warrior seemed to ignite in flame. Vegeta’s
hair and eyes changed color, as an evil, pulsating glow full of flickering electricity surrounded his entire frame,
lending new horror to his grotesque visage.
“WE AGREED NOT TO GO SUPER SAIY…” Goku shouted as Vegeta barreled into him.
At the same time that Goku managed to hold Vegeta off, his heels digging into the ground and sliding at least ten feet back,
both Vegit and Nardon flew out of the way. They stared in stunned disbelief at the raging spectacle of Vegeta as he
transformed into Super Saiyan. Goku was having a hell of a time holding Vegeta back, the
Saiyan brother’s off to the side despairing that the smaller warrior would kill Goku at any moment.
Goku, using reserves of power, pushed offensively at Vegeta, startling him back onto his feet. Before he could react, Goku
hit Vegeta hard in the face. In the moment afforded him, Goku jumped back, readying himself to meet another attack.
Vegeta, blood dripping from the side of his eye, snarled at Goku and charged at him once more.
But something happened. The blood at the corner of Vegeta’s eye collected and spread along the inner rim of his lower
eyelid. Bothering him, Vegeta blinked. Blood collected on his blond lashes. It gave him the effect of having red
eyeliner in the one eye.
Goku, in preparation for Vegeta’s next attack, braced himself and caught Vegeta once again in his arms. Vegeta pushed him
back even further this time. Goku desperately tried to block all of Vegeta’s blows. As he parried with him, Goku caught
sight of Vegeta’s blood rimmed eye and in combination with the fury on Vegeta’s face, Goku was struck by how much Vegeta
looked like he did when he was under Babidi’s control.
And that was when Goku lost his temper.
Vegit and Nardon and now a growing number of other Saiyan’s who had gathered to see what had caused such an explosion,
watched as Goku suddenly transformed into a flaming horror as well.
Goku transformed to Super Saiyan, pushed with all his might, sending Vegeta flying back. Several Saiyan’s had to scurry
out of the way as he slid in a groove of dirt within their midst. Vegeta was up on his feet in an instant, staring death
at Goku.
Goku rose up into the air, wanting to take this fight to the sky, to leave out the ever growing number of Saiyan’s
gathering to witness the battle. Vegeta rose up into the air, in eager pursuit of Goku.
They stared at each other for a moment, their expressions hard, yet unreadable.
Then they were upon each other.
Raining blow after blow, blood and sweat flying off their bodies, a constant shimmer in the air around them, they began one
of the worst battles they ever fought against each other.
Goku twirled faster than the eye could see and landed a kick to the side of Vegeta’s head, sending him smashing through
another hill behind where Nardon and Vegit stood, watching the fight with mouths gaping open in shock. Vegeta flew out of
the debris almost as quickly as he had flown into it and sent a rain of ki blasts Goku’s way. Goku had to speed away to
try to dodge them. One ki blast managed to catch Goku square on his tail, a blood-curdling scream ripping from him.
Blood ran down Goku’s legs, his tail broken, every movement of his body causing him excruciating pain. But still, Goku
spun around and sent a large blast of ki at Vegeta, who sailed right through it, singed completely, black soot covering
him. Vegeta cringed in agony, a loud groan shuddering out of him, Vegeta closing his eyes in the pain of suffering an
all-over burn. When he opened his eyes again as he came for Goku, Vegeta looked like a madman, the whites of his burning
eyes in stark contrast to the black soot on his face.
Both warriors met, pounding and kicking each other in a relentless torrent of pent up anger and frustration. Vegeta grabbed
Goku by the waist and blasted forward and down, driving Goku through another nearby hill, Goku grunting at the force of
the rock hitting him from behind against his broken tail, sending rivers of pain shooting through him.
Goku’s eyes met Vegeta’s hate-filled glare. The pain and anger and uselessness of this fight caused Goku to explode in a
rage, Vegeta flying back from the force of it.
When Goku emerged from the pile of rubble, he was in Super Saiyan Three form.
Both warriors glared at each other.
Vegeta shuddered, knowing he was no match for Goku in this form, but he knew that Goku was injured, as evidenced by the
steady stream of blood dripping off the limp tip of his tail. Vegeta was going to have to use cunning to win this fight.
As Vegeta panted in mid-air he knew he was going to have to fight dirty.
With the thought, it took everything within Vegeta to tamp down the feelings that flooded to the surface.
He didn’t want to hurt Goku. Not in the least.
Vegeta’s anger flared again, at being thrust in a situation that pitted him against the younger Saiyan once more. He
powered up, screaming, his hair flying about him, his irises disappearing briefly as energy coursed through him.
Goku, breathing heavily, watched Vegeta as barely containable rage erupted from the smaller Saiyan.
By now, the entire camp of Saiyan’s watched as the two golden warriors faced off against each other. Most stared at what
had already transpired in stunned disbelief.
Nardon’s body shook with fear for his brother. And honestly, with fear for himself as well, because there was no way in
hell he would let anything happen to Vegit without a fight. Nardon knew that neither he nor Vegit could ever hope to face
off against Vegeta, who seemed hell bent on destruction, even attacking his own lover in his ambition. Nardon’s only hope
rested in the strength he had seen in Goku. Not really knowing what he was seeing, Nardon was a little comforted by Goku’s
new appearance, which seemed to imply a greater strength than Vegeta’s. He only hoped that it was so.
Goku quickly glanced down and saw the thousands of Saiyans gathered to watch their battle. From what he could see, they
stared up at the pair in astonishment. Although some looked on in eager, greedy anticipation, most looked on in fear.
Goku, angered by the sight, glared at Vegeta.
“This is stupid, Vegeta. Let’s stop this now.”
Vegeta raged, “Shut up! I will do as I was destined to do and there is nothing you can do to stop me.”
“Ask yourself why I want to stop you!”
Vegeta ignored the tug he felt inside over Goku’s words. It was all getting out of hand, but he had known it would. He
wanted to stop this just as much as Goku did. He never wanted it to get to this. But as soon as he had landed on this
planet, Vegeta had known that he would make this play for power. How could Vegeta not try for it now, despite what it
would mean between them? But it angered him. The feeling of loss, something he had fought against from the beginning
between Goku and himself, causing a wrenching pain within him. But all Vegeta had to do, was to remind himself of the
unfairness of it all. To be robbed of his people. To be robbed of his throne...
Vegeta didn’t answer, but flew at Goku for another attack instead. Goku met him and again they pummeled each other,
kicking and chopping in almost of blur of movement.
To the Saiyan’s watching below, the fight seemed to be a series of explosions that would appear at one point in the sky and
would suddenly reappear in another. The fight caused the very ground they stood on to shake, while the most deafening
booms of sound hurt their ears.
But this time, Goku’s hits threatened to break Vegeta’s body with ease. It was only shear anger keeping the Saiyan Prince
in the fight at this point. His body was bleeding a steady stream from multiple lacerations. Vegeta, feeling the fight
beginning to slip from him, knowing it would be over in just a few minutes with Goku in this new form, made a move in
desperation. He spun behind Goku and delivered a kick to the base of Goku’s broken tail. Goku screamed, his mind
threatening to black out as he fell to the ground.
Vegeta was right on top of him, chasing Goku down as he fell. Vegeta grabbed Goku by his long tresses to spin and hurl him
with a one-arm throw. Goku landed and lay in a pile of rubble about twenty feet away from most of the onlookers.
Vegeta landed, almost completely out of breath. One of his arms was broken, and he wouldn’t be surprised if several ribs
and perhaps one or two fractured vertebrae as well. He knew that if Goku came at him now, Vegeta could easily be disabled
by one hit from that powerful body. It wouldn’t even take ki to outdo him at this point. Just a mere punch or kick from
the blond wriggling on the ground in agony would be enough.
Vegeta had to hurt Goku, badly, or he would most likely lose this battle -- and he just couldn’t let that happen. Trembling
with regret, Vegeta straightened his arm, turning up the palm of his hand, getting ready to direct a strong blast at Goku’s
lower body. Perhaps if he could just break Goku’s legs, then he could disable him long enough in this fight...
Vegit, who had seen a similar move directed at him, misunderstood, thinking Vegeta meant to kill Goku. Vegit knew that if
they lost Goku now, then all hope of reasoning with the powerful small warrior would be lost. Vegeta seemed insane and
irrational - what would he do to Vegit’s people after he had spoken about them with so much venom? Thinking of the safety
of his people, Vegit did what any great leader would do.
Vegit lowered himself to one knee, bowing his head in Vegeta’s direction.
Nardon shuddered, knowing why his brother chose to do this. He wanted to scream at the injustice of it, but knew that his
brother was right. There was no way any of them could stand up to either of these two Saiyans. Nardon felt as if his
world were coming to an end as he, too, lowered himself to one knee.
Breaking through the jumble of mixed thoughts screaming and vying for attention in Vegeta’s mind, Vegeta heard Vegit say,
“Vegeta, do not kill him. You don’t have to. I will agree to serve under you.”
Vegeta almost couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
Vegeta turned to regard the now bowed Vegit, Nardon beside him also bowing to Vegeta in deference.
Goku squirmed and said, “No, Vegit.”
Vegeta ignored Goku as he stared at Vegit and Nardon. Then a movement caught his eye, and he was stunned to see a few more
Saiyans bow before him. As Vegeta scanned to look at all the Saiyans gathered, they would quickly, in trembling fear,
lower to one knee, bowing to him. Within a few moments, every Saiyan that had watched the blinding power that Vegeta had
so easily used, was on their knee, most afraid to even look up at him.
A smirk curled the corner of Vegeta’s mouth, as he stared in triumph as they trembled in fear before him. He drank it all
in, not having felt such power given to him in so long.
But a voice behind him broke his revelry. “Is that how you would lead, Vegeta? Through fear?!”
Goku finally stood, trembling in anger so acute that he fought within himself the urge to cut Vegeta down where he stood.
Goku ignored the thought that he could do it with ease.
“Why not, Kakarot! I am their rightful King. Whatever it takes, I will do what is necessary to take what is mine.”
Vegeta stared at the bowed and frightened Saiyans, looking like a demon, blood dripping down his soot stained face, a manic
look to his teal-colored eyes.
Goku moved closer, knowing that his own rage was building to such a point that he feared what he would do. He wasn’t sure
if he would be able to control himself if he struck Vegeta now.
“THEN HOW DOES THAT MAKE YOU ANY DIFFERENT FROM FRIEZA???!!”
Vegeta gasped. And as if transported back in time, he saw a sea of warriors, some from different planets, but most of them
Saiyans, all attired in Saiyan armor, and bowing before Frieza as now the Saiyans bowed before him. Vegeta’s body shook
with the memory of palpable fear that could be tasted in the air around Frieza. And he remembered his hate and loathing
for that freak of nature.
It was as if something within him broke. Vegeta knew that the one thing he had craved since he lost his people was to have
them all back again. To belong again. And back when he hated Goku with every fiber of his being, he still felt compelled
to search him out; to follow him. Perhaps there was more to it where Goku was concerned, their falling in to the role of
lovers so easily, but the urge to be around another of his own kind, one so akin to him, was all he ever wanted. And
Vegeta had his wish come true, his people given back to him, but they looked at him as if he were an unnamable horror.
They did not want him.
They feared and loathed him.
And yet again, this time in the midst of a planet of Saiyans, Vegeta was alone.
Vegeta turned towards Goku, looking vulnerable for the first time since they had begun this battle. He stared at Goku, his
voice clicking in his throat.
Goku, tired and badly injured, could only stare back at Vegeta, resignation and sadness reflected in his eyes.
Vegeta gathered his energy in force and burst into the air, flying faster than most of the Saiyans could register.
He was gone in an instant.
Goku stumbled, falling to his knee, looking as if he were mocking the Saiyans all posed in a similar fashion around him.
Vegit, was up on his feet immediately, racing towards Goku. Nardon wanted to pull his brother back from the yellow-haired
beast, but Vegit was helping up Goku before he could even act.
“I need to get to my tent. I have medicine that can take my injuries away.” As Goku said this, he powered down to his
normal dark haired form again. Most Saiyans having come to see the fight well after both Vegeta and Goku had transformed
gasped as they recognized him for the first time.
“Yes, I will bring you there,” said Vegit. Nardon joined them, giving his brother a grim look, but still grabbing up Goku’s
other arm to help Goku back to his tent. The on-looking Saiyans parted, staring at Goku as he was supported by Vegit and
Nardon past on the way to his tent.
* * *
Once within the tent, Goku made his way over to the pile of Goku and Vegeta’s armor and spandex and reached into a wrist
pouch that they had used to store senzu beans. Goku chewed a bean and was relieved to feel the bean work its magic.
Both Nardon and Vegit stared in shock as Goku’s wounds healed before their eyes. After a minute or two, Goku was able to
test his newly healed tail by swishing it back and forth behind him.
Goku looked at them apologetically. “I know that you are both very confused by what you have seen and heard today. But I
need to find Vegeta and give him one of these beans.”
Goku looked down.
“He really isn’t bad. But Vegeta has his fears for the Saiyan race -- these fears are behind his actions today. I promise
that when I get back, I will explain everything to you. I don’t know if Vegeta will give up this idea of his, but I will
do everything I can to convince him to leave your people free from harm.”
Vegit nodded at Goku. “Thank you, Kakarot. I am most grateful.”
Nardon nodded his respect at Goku as well.
Goku gave them a small smile and dashed out of the tent, taking to the air immediately, heading in the direction in which
he sensed Vegeta’s pained ki.
* * *
Goku landed behind Vegeta, Vegeta sitting at the shoreline of the river, sitting in the exact spot that Goku had sat earlier
that evening.
Without even turning, Vegeta, still breathing raggedly, one of his lungs punctured from a broken rib, said, “Why do you
always make a fool of me?”
Vegeta’s voice was small, and defeated.
Goku felt a part of him clench inside at the sound of Vegeta’s empty voice. One of the other few times that Vegeta’s voice
had sounded so despondent was after the battle with Cell, when Vegeta had been left alone on the battlefield, and he
talked to the newly departed Goku, asking him why he had left him alone. But Goku had never heard. Goku had been
following his son with his thoughts as the Z Fighters took Gohan to the Look Out to be healed.
Goku would have been surprised to know that Vegeta had felt a similar emptiness in his heart at the loss of Goku even back
then.
“I don’t mean to.” Goku winced at his own words, as they seemed to mock Vegeta all the more.
Vegeta shrugged. “It makes no difference. I’m tired. I...” Vegeta groaned, grabbing at his side, falling over and
panting.
“VEGETA!”
Goku ran to kneel by his side, looking down in sympathy at Vegeta’s broken body. He took a senzu bean and pressed it to
Vegeta’s lips.
The older warrior, with lips pressed shut not allowing the senzu bean past, stared up at Goku in utter defeat. He was
giving up – everything.
“VEGETA!! TAKE THE BEAN!!”
With resignation, Vegeta almost too tired to even fight this, parted his lips just enough to let Goku push the bean inside
his mouth.

Chapter 15 - King Vegeta?
Raddoon entered Kakarotto’s tent, and was surprised to see his furs were empty. Raddoon glanced towards the back of the

Kakarotto looked like hell, his face pale and his body trembling from the pain he still endured.

Before Vegeta could speak, Goku interrupted, further angering the Saiyan Prince, “We should go somewhere private to talk.”
Goku’s grim manner spoke of the seriousness of the situation. That, combined with the look of fierce determination on

Vegit’s eyes, although retaining his polite expression, narrowed slightly. Vegit, although sensing that the discussion

* * *
* * *
With resignation, Vegeta almost too tired to even fight this, parted his lips just enough to let Goku push the bean inside
his mouth.
