[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

A/n: this is a new story. Hoping you guys have read the summary well enough to know what you're reading (and hoping I did a good job at perfectly describing what it is that you're reading) go ahead and read (won't keep you any longer) and thank you for giving my story a chance since, logistically speaking, you giving my story a chance means it must've probably sounded pretty good to you. Ok, ok, I'll shut up now. Go read and enjoy. The prologue is short but Ch. 1 is coming up right behind it soon. Thanks!

Warning(s): none (right now. There may be some later)

Disclaimer: ok, we all know I don't own anything in my story but my ideas ok?

“…and it's the sixth game for young Pan Son”
“Impressive strength and speed I must say, John”
“Eighteen years old coming from ol' 439 East District; what's impressive is how well she's carried on with this match, Dan. She's so young yet incredibly well prepared. Her physical and mental stamina is amazing”
“She is a girl playing women and doing a great job at it. First game against Hinoyasha, 27, was a forty to thirty. Second one was a forty to thirty as well”
“Amazing”
“Now here's where things start to get interesting Dan. The third game was a loss for Pan Son thirty to forty”
“Hard fought game by Hinoyasha”
“Indeed. The fourth game was also a W for Hinoyasha forty to fifteen. Fifth game Son comes back unbelievably strong taking the game forty to fifteen. I think this kind of goes back to that physical stamina of hers. She dropped two games in a row but then she comes back and takes another one with a forty to fifteen score”
“I think she just keeps getting stronger by the game, John” [laughter]
“That a good theory. Sixth game not looking good for Hinoyasha here. Son takes off again leading the last and final game thirty to fifteen. One set won by Son and we're getting close to the end of the match. It's Son's serve respectively right after the timeout. This is ESPN, I'm John Cook and this is Dan Thomas. We'll be right back with more Wimbledon qualifiers”
“Sit tight…”

The Perfect Ten

“Pan!” a black haired woman entered Pan's locker room. Pan looked away from the mirror, her lips growing into a wide smile as she took sight of who it was
“Grandma!” she greeted walking over to her. The ladies engaged in a friendly hug
“Congratulations!” her grandmother said as they pulled away. Pan brushed her hair, wet from taking a shower a half an hour before her grandmother walked in on her
“Thank you!” she replied her eyes shinning with joy. Chichi eyed her whole figure
“Kame. You're a woman already!” she exclaimed somewhat nostalgic. Pan rolled her eyes smiling
“You haven't seen me in a while grandma Chi” she said. Chichi tsked
“I know. We should've visited more often but you know how gas prices are these days. Can't travel anywhere you don't absolutely need to go” she said. Pan shrugged her shoulders
“That's fine, grandma. I understand” she said “where are my parents?” she asked next. Chichi snapped
“Oh yeah! Gohan wanted to introduce Goten to a couple of people he knows. You know how he is. Both he and Videl are such well known people, Videl alone being Mr. Satan's daughter-”
“I can't wait to see Goten! It's been so long!” Pan exclaimed excited. Chichi smiled letting out a hard sigh
“You'll be impressed. He's so much taller and muscular” she said. Pan smiled wide
“I bet he is. Oh I can't wait! How did baseball go?” she asked. Chichi shrugged her shoulders
“I personally think it's going great. He's not satisfied with the level he's playing at right now, of course, that's Goten for you”
“What level is he at?” Pan asked curious. Chichi breathed out
“Double A. I just wish he could understand. He's a twenty year old shortstop that just got in the minor leagues, you know. He expects scouts to sign him right away but scouts hardly ever sign players that just got in the program. I've tried to explain a thousand times that it doesn't work that way but it's useless. He refuses to give up” she said. Pan giggled
“Still the same Goten. Glad that hasn't changed-”
“Why would it change?” she heard a manly voice say. Her eyes turned to the door where tall, dark skin toned Goten walked in. At first she was shocked. His arms, legs and back were all bulky covered in muscles she never knew he had. His hair had grown like her grandfather's Goku, all spiky and unruly. His skin had turned dark, product of so many days training in the sun, she figured. His style was different. Once a boy of plain shirts and loose shorts, Goten now dressed neatly with elegant light blue designer jeans and a white halfway unbuttoned Armani blouse, a grey tank underneath the blouse. A pair of black sunglasses rested on his head. The word `Porsche' was inscribed on both legs of the glasses. Pan raised a brow
“What happened to you?” she asked smiling. Goten narrowed his eyes at her
“What do you mean `what happened to me'? Come here and give me a hug” he said. Pan giggled running over to him and jumping on him, embracing her arms around his neck. Goten's arms went around her waist. He held her tight. He had missed her a lot. It had been two long years without seeing her.
Goten had always been a very dedicated and determined baseball player. His talent as a shortstop went beyond any other kid's when he was a child; he was a very agile, very accurate and coordinated youngster. As he grew older, his ability to perform developed further. Although his mother firmly encouraged him to study, she knew there would be a point in his life where he'd be forced to decide between baseball as a career or go to college and graduate. Everybody knew Goten was a good enough player and student to choose either one and be well off. Being as passionate as he was about his sport, he chose baseball. He had been off in training camps for two years and had gotten signed a couple of days ago the reason of such wait being that he was too young to be signed in the minors right away.

Regardless of the time he waited, he wanted to celebrate the news with Pan in person. It was a big step closer to his long lived dream and she was one of the people that had helped him stay focused on what he really wanted. Pan was his best friend; perfect in every way he wanted and needed her to be. Mature for her age, honest, loyal and family; she always told him the truth no matter how bad it hurt, she never put her friends or anyone before him and she was family so there was no risk of getting involved romantically. She truly was special. Not too many people came across somebody like her, he had to admit that
“Ah” he groaned hugging her tighter “I missed you” he said. She giggled
“I missed you too” she replied. The pair pulled away
“You've gown, look at you!” he quickly pointed out. Pan looked adorable in a pink tank top and a white cotton short skirt. Her breasts were grown and she had shed some muscle over her once stick-like skinny legs. They weren't skinny anymore, they were fit. Her stomach was still as slim as it once was; it now showed the marks of the many abs she had to do per day, he assumed. A strong athletic stomach it was indeed. Her skin had turned dark due to the exposure of the sun. Her shiny, beautiful brown hair, now a lighter shade because of the sun, reached her low back. One thing that hadn't changed, though, was the color of her eyes
“Forever blues” she heard Goten say “you're still a beautiful girl” he gently tugged at her chin. She blushed
“Thank you” she smiled sheepishly
“You been driving boys crazy?” he asked. She raised a brow smugly
“Maybe” she replied haughtily “I'm a goal-oriented person nonetheless. Boys and my career just don't go together” she said. He chuckled
“You're into big ideas now, I see” he teased. She nodded with poise
“Yes I am. So much success, you know? You really have no choice” she said. He raised a brow
“Cocky?”
“Proud”
“Worked hard?”
“Of course”
“Good. It's been two years. I'm glad to see you've carried on what I've taught you” he said. She giggled
“Yes I did-”
“Well, I will leave the two of you alone here. You have a lot to catch on, I see” Chichi interrupted “let me try and find Goku so he can come say hi, Panny” she added. Pan nodded kindly
“Ok grandma” she agreed, the couple watching her exit the room right away. Pan turned to Goten
“I haven't been called `Panny' in like forever” she pointed out. Goten shrugged
“It's mom. What do you expect?” he asked the obvious. She breathed out
“I know. Congratulations on the minors contract, by the way” she praised cheerful. He nodded proudly
“Did you see me on the news?” he asked. She shook her head
“No. I was playing-”
“It was a good game-”
“Thanks. Let's go on the couch. We need to talk” she said, the pair walking over to the couch inside her locker room ready to catch up on old times…
