Book One: The Awakening

Reunion: Part Two

"Chi-Chi, I told you the red one!" came a shout from across the room. A black haired woman growled in anger, as she threw the so-called red dress onto the mattress in the center of the room, pointing to the closet she had just searched through for the eleventh time.

"Bulma, I don't know! It's too revealing! Why not the blue one?" The black haired martial artist held up the same blue dress she had her eye on since she had entered the room hours ago. A blue haired woman walked over from across the room, tossing the blue dress aside.

"Chi-Chi, you can't pull this dress off," Bulma replied harshly, tossing it aside. Crimson colored cheeks rose, as anger seemed to fill the voice of the younger woman.

"What the hell do you mean by that?!" Chi-Chi screamed out, her foot slamming on the floor. The blue-haired genius let out a heart-filled laugh, pointing it to her shoulder, as she pulled the very blue dress up once again.

"What I mean by that, Chi-Chi, is that this dress is much too old fashioned. I'm not going to be having you walk around in a dress older than time!" The girl laughed again, before tossing onto the floor as if it were nothing, lifting up the red dress, neatening it out, turning to reach for a hanger. "Didn't I tell you to trust me? For the eleventh time, there's nothing that looks better on you than this!" The girl placed the dress onto the hanger, holding it up with her index finger, waving it slightly in front of her. The black-haired woman sighed, knowing she was defeated.

"I only want you to know that I'm only doing this because it's YOUR party," she said, crossing her arms like a child. Hearing that the other girl was raising her white flag, she ran over to the girl to hug her in thanks, but ran into something rather rough, knocking her back onto her rear. Rubbing her head, and letting a few choice words escape her lips, she looked up to see two rather serious-faced Saiya-jins standing over her.

"Goku, you hentai!" Bulma screamed, as she stood up, pounding over to knock some sense into the taller Saiya-jin. "Didn't I tell you to stop trying to-" She was cut off by the tall warrior's waving arms in protest.

"Wow, hold on there, Bulma! First of all, I wouldn't use it unless it was an emergency, and this one would count as one!" The Saiya-jin was quick to change the subject, due to a certain Prince that would most likely destroy the very house they were in, along with half the city if word got out what had happened moments before he had interrupted his training earlier. He could feel the glare from his wife through his back, burning a hole straight through his training gi, weighted shirt, and through his chest, a small sweat drop appearing at the side of his head.

"We don't have time for this," Vegeta blurted out, Goku immediately feeling the pressure lifted from his shoulders, though he could tell from the glare he got from the Prince himself that he knew something was up. Goku's face turned serious once again, as he removed himself from in between the two girls and gave a rather short explanation of what was going on. They merely blinked in response, not having enough time to come up with a comment, before they found themselves at Kami's lookout, facing two rather surprised Namek's, and a turban-wearing servant.

"Goku?" the two Nameks exclaimed at once. Before Goku could say anything, he vanished, and in less than five seconds, returned with Trunks and Goten, who had seemed to be right in the middle of eating, Goten holding a slice of pizza, Trunks holding a bottle of water, a towel draped over both their shoulders, sweat evident upon their faces. Once again, clueless hit their faces, and before they would question, Goku was gone again. Chi-Chi slammed her foot onto the marble flooring.

"I HATE IT WHEN HE DOES THIS!" Her scream filled the Nameks ears, both of them quickly bringing their hands up to cover. Vegeta crossed his arms, simply stating for them to wait for Kakarot to return, since he wasn't in the mood to repeat himself when the taller Saiya-jin returned with more people. They all sat patiently, some having a clue to what was going on, others i.e. Goten and Trunks seeming to be the most oblivious of the situation.

Gohan laid upon the grass, his hands behind his head, as he looked up to the sky above, a smile upon his face. Videl lay next to him, with her head upon his stomach, titled to face him, her eyes closed as she rested. He smiled, as he looked down to face her. They had made incredible progress today, and couldn't wait to train with her tomorrow. He felt her stir a bit, shifting her position slightly, placing her hands under her head, which made Gohan fidget a bit. A grin was plastered on his face, as he looked back up to the sky. Everything was nice, the clouds, the blue sky, his father's face staring at him from just above… wait… what was that last thing again?

"Dad?" Gohan's voice was slightly louder than he had realized, quickly covering his mouth from being so loud, looking down to Videl, who stirred slightly from the voice, but simply rolled over her head higher onto his chest, cuddling into his gi-top. Goku grinned rather childishly, with upside-down U-shaped eyes. He sat down on the other side of him, nudging his shoulder with his elbow. Gohan pushed away his father's arm, his grin all but leaving, an embarrassed smirk replacing it.

"What are you doing here?" his voice much quieter this time around.

"I'm gathering everyone to meet at Kami's Lookout," he said, his face becoming serious. Gohan studied his father's face for a moment, feeling like he hadn't seen his father act this way since Buu, or even Frieza for that matter. Gohan nodded, his expressions equaling his father. Goku stood up, placing two fingers to his forehead. Before he faded, he threw on that same old grin, catching his son off guard.

"Take your time, son," was all he said before he was gone, Gohan cursing under his breath for his father's teleporting technique.

"Damn it, I have to learn how he does that!" It appeared he lost his will to keep quiet, feeling weight being lifted from his chest. A pout was upon his face, as Videl rubbed her eyes slightly, looking around.

"Learn how who does what?" Her voice was slightly cracked, and half the sentence was in between a yawn. Gohan's pout turned into a smirk, as he explained what his father had just told him.

Krillin had all but given up, having been half way across the ocean, having given up on his search, and heading towards his house, feeling the taller Saiya-jin's ki constantly moving throughout the planet. He had tried to follow it the first time, feeling it at Capsule Corporation, but after another jump half way across the world, he had given up, and started to head to their old "Base of Operation," assuming that that would be where the taller Saiya-jin would end up. Before his senses continued to feel his old colleague jump about, he had actually appeared right before him, the white aura surrounding the short black-haired Earthling all but vanishing, as he paused in mid-flight.

"Goku!" he yelled, his eyes widening. "I was just heading to the Kame House, when I couldn't keep up with you," he started, before he looked to the blonde-haired figure beside him. While Goku held a grin, the figure beside him holding the exact opposite, her arms crossed over her chest, impatience upon her face, her eyes filled with anger, as if she had been right in the middle of something when Goku had brought her here.

"You're the last of them, Krillin," he said, as he placed a hand on his shoulder, Krillin's wife already having an arm upon the tall Saiya-jin's shoulder, as they faded into the background.

Gohan had just arrived with Videl in tow, feeling lucky his training took him near the tower. His father was already there, the crew seeming to be all huddled in the front of the sanctuary, all having the same odd expression of pure confusion upon their faces, as the two headed over.

"So what's up, Dad?" Gohan asked, his voice overriding the constant questions of the group.

"Apparently, Goku and Vegeta have sisters that just arrived on Earth, used the Dragonballs to revive Vegeta-sai, and are on their way here as we speak," Piccolo spoke, which seemed to have the entire group stunned as his rather short explanation of what happened earlier. Goku blinked for a second, shrugged, then nodded.

"Yea, that's about it right there," he said, as he turned to his older son.

"What? I thought there weren't any more Saiya-jins left in the galaxy?" Gohan asked, more to himself than to anyone else.

"Apparently there are," Vegeta said, breaking his silence, actually surprising a few. "And you should show some respect when they get here."

"So I have an aunt?" Goten asked, looking up to his father. Goku blinked for a second, having not really thought about his sister as much as he thought he would have. It had happened so fast, that he wasn't even sure if it was true. They seemed similar enough, but he could tell right away when he showed up there was a certain connection between himself and the tall female version of himself. A twin, perhaps. He nodded suddenly, realizing his son was still looking up to him in a questioning gaze.

A sudden surge of power could be felt not too far away, gathering the attention of those who could sense the energy rise. Goku and Vegeta immediately looked to one another, before looking to the others.

"Stay here!" Goku ordered rather harshly, the two powerful Saiya-jins bringing forth two strong bursts of ki around them. Gohan stepped forward, the look on his face as he looked to his father telling him he wasn't going to be held back waiting. With a simple nod from his father, he turned to Videl, asking her to stay as well, before bringing a white powerful aura around him. Before anyone could question, they were already lifted into the air, and heading off in the direction they felt the power surge.

----------

When the warriors arrived to a large island, apparently the source of the high power levels, they were placed in front of a war zone. Craters filled the island, beams of energy could be seen shooting in all directions, phasing in and out all around them were figures they could not keep up with in their current state. The three powerful Saiya-jins kept their eyes focused, their pupils darting left and right, feeling shockwaves of powerful blows. Vegeta was the first to catch a glimpse of a figure being tossed to the ground, landing to the rock-flooring, leaving a ten foot hole in the process of landing. Before a thought could register in his brain, he found himself already at the crater, levitating protectively over it, his hair flashing into a yellow-golden state, his arms spread out at his side, as a creature identical to Frieza flew right toward him.

Another Saiya-jin's foot made contact with it's face, long strands of golden mane all around the figure's form. A grin upon her face, she swirled her arms around, and made contact with the creatures back, before another would appear just behind her. Vegeta extended a hand, a burst of golden energy flying out from his palm, smashing into the creatures face, knocking him back several yards. Instantaneously, Goku and Gohan were upon either side of the Super Saiya-jin Prince, another figure making itself known, pulling herself from the crater, equal-golden-colored hair sprawled out in every direction. Vegeta looked over his shoulder, never letting his shocked expression be shown.

Blood dripped down from the princess' lip and eye, bruise marks upon her cheeks, with her golden hair sticking to her sweat-filled forehead. A Saiya-jin royal emblem was imprinted upon the chest-plate of her armor, a long red cape tattered and torn behind her, the extended pieces of clothe dancing around in the wind. A brown furred tail placed firmly around her waist twitched, as her eyes caught the vision before her, pulling herself from the crater while she cradled her right arm with her left. Five figures made themselves known, all looking similar, if not identical to Frieza, each having a strange emblem of their own chest plated-armor, Vegeta recognizing it faintly. The middle of the five stepped forward, as his team was now faced with five powerful Saiya-jins instead of just two.

"So, there were more Saiya-jins on this planet," he spat out, a sadistic smirk upon his face. His tail smashed the rock-flooring, lifting the very earth all around him. "I thought Frieza had wiped most of this part of the galaxy away long ago."

"Frieza died at the hands of a Super Saiya-jin," Vegeta barked out, clenching his fists at his side. "As will all of you!"

Vegeta didn't bother to hear anymore, as he went directly for the man in the middle. His knee made contact with a ribcage, bringing his arms up to smash it's head in. Hands were gripped around his wrists, attempting to throw him off, but a golden-haired Goku implanted his foot into the creatures skull, sending it father back than anyone could see. Before Vegeta could follow, the man was gone in an instant, shockwaves of punches and kicks could be felt all around. The creature Vegeta was fighting regained his composure, and already had two hands filled with energy, throwing them in front of him. Vegeta looked down, as he was filled with red energy, exploding into his chest, as he flew up and into the sky.

Gohan charged up his full aura, his hair never changing color. White surrounded him, slight bolts of white-electricity filling his aura, as he pushed himself from the ground, on of the girl's next to him joining right by his side. They flew in sync with one another, swirling and weaving, confusing the two they had targeted. Without any sort of acknowledgement, they both fired out a beam of energy from their hands, blue swirling with gold, as the beams took over two of the creatures, knocking them back several yards.

One was left to face the staggering princess, who merely grinned, as she wiped the blood from her face with her glove. The creature blinked, stepping back slightly in fear. The girl grinned more, kicking from the ground once, and in an instant, her fist was through the creatures chest, blood spattering behind him, her fist covered in crimson red. Dripping with liquid, she pulled it out, and gripped the man's entire face with her hand, holding him up from falling.

"This is for last time," she spat out, as a sphere of gold appeared in the eyes of the man's face, before it turned to nothing, his body falling back head-less. It landed with a thud, as the girl looked up to the three new warriors and her comrade, holding onto her bad arm once again. Her eyes adjusted easily to their movements, keeping up with the fight placed before her.

Vegeta was on a rampage. He never felt a hit landed on him, as he weaved in and out of every punch, and deflected every blast shot at him. His smirk never left, as he moved away from every near-contact at the very last second, enraging the lizard-creature before him. Flashes of gold swirled around the creature, before he even knew it, sending him flying toward the Earth.

Gohan and Katalina continued their teamed assault upon the two creatures, switching back and forth, as they landed blow after blow, almost like a dance, their strikes landing heavily with power and accuracy, as the creatures could do nothing but attempt to block at the continuous waves of punches and kicks. Another swirl of golden blue energy struck one in the chest, sending it flying one way, while another swirl of energy landed in the back of another, sending them racing in opposite directions. The two broke apart finally, attempting to finish this off.

Goku couldn't have had a happier expression upon his face. The creature landed blow after blow on Goku, who only smiled back, seeming to anger the lizard-like creature more and more. Goku felt a swift tug at his leg, the creature wrapping its tail around his ankle, as he was thrown down toward the Earth below. Fingers to his forehead, he teleported just above him, still using the momentum of falling, and landing a swift and heavy kick to the man's head, sending him flying towards the ground. Another teleport, and Goku was just below where the creature was going to land, winding his leg back. With another powerful kick, his weighted boot landed in the back of the creature, resulting in blood pouring form his mouth, Goku cupping his hands to one side, as he took the familiar stance of his former Sensei.

"Kame…" Blue swirls of energy seemed to be pulled from every direction, as if from the very Earth itself, and all around.

"Ha…" A blue orb formed into his cupped hands, as his fingers made contact with the warm blue-energy-filled ball, light escaping from in between his fingers, as the orb grew in light and energy with every chant.

"Me…" The light exploded from his fingertips, as the orb grew to its full size, the blue color over whelming his golden aura, shifting his weight upon his back leg.

"HA!!!" He then shifted his weight in front of him, throwing his hands out in the direction of the creature, the blue orb exploding into a beam of blue energy, completely shattering every piece of the Ice-jin before him. As soon as the beam faded, there was no trace left, Goku lowering his arms, as he looked to the others.

Gohan kicked one creature across the land, as it smashed into the other creature, who had just so happened been kicked by the girl he was fighting along side with, both Saiya-jins extending their hands. With their own version of chants and mixed words, swirls of blue and gold collided with one another, as the creatures that stood in the middle could do nothing. Pieces exploded, and soon turned to ash, as smoke filled the area, a gigantic crater left where the impact of the two beams met. They looked up just as the last creature was landing to the ground, Vegeta in hot pursuit.

The apparent Princess pulled herself from the ground, flying quickly toward Vegeta, and the leader of the Ice-jin's attack force. The two stood next to each other, both their eyes upon the one before them.

"No way…" it managed to say, witnessing the two powerful Super Saiya-jins before him. "You're… you're supposed to be dead!" He spat out, as he pointed a hand to Vegeta, as if finally recognizing him. Vegeta placed on his family and wide-known smirk, the slightly shorter Saiya-jin next to him in an identical stance. They both let out an equal laugh, as their hands extended in an identical way. Gold energy met their hands, and erupted in an explosion, wind blowing all over the place, but their grins held until the smoke cleared, and nothing was left in front of them, aside from another new crater.

The girl next to Vegeta turned to the prince, their eyes finally meeting. Her smirk long gone, a frown now placed firmly in its place, her arms dropping by her side.

"He's right," she said, hate filling her eyes, her brows lowered in anger. "You are supposed to be dead." Vegeta didn't seem fazed by the comment, or make a change in his expression. The others had just flown over, witnessing the scene unfold before them.

"As are you, Vertigo," he replied equally in tone, crossing his arms over his chest. The girl glared daggers, mirroring his image, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Who were those guys? They looked a lot like Frieza," Gohan asked, sensing the tension that filled around them rather quickly.

"Those were Ice-jins, which is why they look similar to Frieza," Katalina responded, walking over to the princess who still seemed unable to remove the glare from her sibling. "Princess, you were injured?!" Her voice completely changed from tactical to defensive, witnessing the blood upon the ripped and torn sleeve of her bad arm.

"It's nothing," she replied, breaking her glare finally to face the girl before her. "It matter's not anyhow-"

"But it's my job to-"

"That's enough!" The princess immediately cut the girl off from interrupting her anymore, throwing her good arm outward to her side. "Your job is to escort, and defend with your life upon my request, not baby-sit me like some petty weak child!" Katalina kept her mouth shut, her eyes shifting down. Goku and Gohan had wide-eyed expressions, while the two rival siblings kept their glares upon one another.

"I think we should head to the lookout," Gohan suggested finally, pointing over his shoulder. "We could fill you in on our story, then you can fill us in on yours."

Goku nodded, turning to Katalina who had just risen her view of the ground to the two. He smiled, looking to the others, waving them to come close. He explained them to grab hold of each other, and after a few choice words expressed by those who had no idea what was about to happen, and an even more stubborn prince, he placed to fingers to his forehead, disappearing from the background completely.

----------

Vegeta's sister stood in front of the group, Katalina to her right, standing tall, but keeping her gaze to the ground, unable to bring her eyes to any of those before her. Vertigo's eyes moved from her right to her left where her brother stood, his back slightly turned, but his attention was fully upon her, she knew for sure. Her eyes then moved to the group in front of her, all of whom were listening to the taller Saiya-jin they called Goku. Why would they simply call him by his birth name? Was this some kind of title these Earth people had for him? She caught the other younger Saiya-jin Gohan's name a few times. The name seemed similar, so maybe their language was a little more complex than the standard language known all throughout the galaxy.

As she felt the eyes of the group shift upon her form, she felt a sudden urge to step forward. Many times in the past, she had stood in front of various groups, taking in those who would join with her, in the fight against the Ice-jin race, and this should have not been any different. With the uncomfortable glare she knew her brother was giving her through her back, she felt unable to think for a mere mili-second, which if you knew the girl, was almost an eternity as a leader.

It seemed the taller Saiya-jin had already explained the basics to the group, which only left her with the small explanation of what he had left out. A war had broken out it seemed across the galaxy, far away from the planet Earth, between the surviving Saiya-jins of the destoyed planet Vegeta and the Ice-jins of the Planet Snow, named after their queen. Apparently, after the death of King Cold, the planet went under a new name and plenty of changes.

Saiya-jins who were either send of the planet as infants, or those who were simply gone from the planet went into hiding, Frieza hiring mercanaries to wipe the galaxy free of all Saiya-jins. It wasn't until the rumors of the death of Frieza, due to the hand of a Super Saiya-jin, did those in hiding come out to join forces to try to rebuild their race. War suddenly broke out with more Saiya-jins popping up, the race of Ice-jins taking it upon themselves to finish the Prince Frieza's work.

The explanation was short and quick, which was how the princess of Saiya-jins worked with the amount of time they held. With Ice-jins surely on their tails, it was only a matter of time before they would send reinforcements. The group was filled with silence, before Goku moved forward once again.

"Maybe I should fill you in on what happened with Frieza, and with all of us before you tell us your tale," Goku suggested, obviously sensing the tension that filled within the princess. After recieving a nod, Goku started from his birth a story that many may have already heard, but heard anew, listening to it through the eyes of the very man who live it.

----------

It was around nightfall, before Goku took a break from his story telling. Dende sipped from his tea cup, placing it down upon a table next to him, which Mr. Popo filled up immediately. Sore limbs stretched themselves, as the hot-liquid made its way around the group. Though the entire group there had been involved in nearly all of Goku's life, never had they once recited every transaction that had occured in his life, some incidents coming as a shock to the group as Goku went on through his story, many respectful in letting the tall Saiya-jin continue his story. Goten stood next to his father, looking up at him as he took a seat upon a cushion, nodding his head in thanks to the tea cup passed to him by the turban wearing Popo, who bowed as he continued his way around the group.

Goku looked down to Goten, smiling, as he ruffled the child's hair. Goten's gaze was more serious than Goku could ever remember the child wearing. He blinked a few times, a questionable gaze fixated upon his son.

"Dad," he choked out, swallowing a lump that had formed in his throat. Goku blinked, placing the tea upon the table in front of him. "I'm sorry about not taking things more seriously," he started out, unable to bring his gaze upon his father. Goku blinked in surprise, immediatly picking his younger son up, placing him on his lap, wrapping his arms around him.

"Hey now," he started out, moving his hand to his son's chin, forcing his child to look him in the eye. "You shouldn't be sorry for anything, Goten. If anything, I should be sorry for forcing the battle upon you. I always felt it my responsibility to protect the Earth, and to force it upon my sons was something that I always felt most sorry about. If anyone should be appologizing, it should be me."

The two hugged tightly, before Goku let his son down, looking to the eyes of his older son, who held the upmost respect in his eyes when he found him sitting across the room, his arm around the sleeping form of Videl next to him. Goku smiled back, his eyes wondering to each of the group members, who had suddenly conversed slightly over certain aspects of Goku's life story.

Katalina placed a hand upon the tall Saiya-jin's shoulder, gathering his attention. They locked eyes for a moment, before she patted it briefly, coughing slightly to gather the attention of the room. She felt it was her turn to tell her own tale in her own words, the Legend of the Female Golden-Haired Warrior.

End Reunion: Part Two

Author's Notes: Reason for this being out so late? Computer got a virus... well that, and the fact that this story is so damn hard to write. Well, not so hard to write, but it's difficult to get into the DBZ state of mind to write than it is with my other stories. Well, anyway, now that I've finally broken the ice between the two, these two chapters are over, and now the real story begins! Next chapter will be the real start of the book... I guess you can call these two chapters the prologue, and the next chapter really chapter one... well, however you look at it, you should review.
