Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ The Prince's Captive ❯ Chapter 10
CHAPTER TEN
"I just want you to know, that I never meant to hurt you, Vegeta."
He sighed. "Just get on with it, woman."
"All right." She scooted over to the edge of the bed. She looked at her left wrist. The scar. It served as a reminder of where she'd come from and how she'd gotten there. A mark that just wouldn't fade. "Everyone's suspicions about me at first were…true. I am a spy."
He nodded. "I suspected as much."
She stared at him for a moment, speechless. When she found her voice, she said, "You knew?!"
"Yes."
"Then why keep me alive?"
He smiled. "Are you protesting that I didn't have you executed?"
"No," she said. "I'm just curious."
"Well, if that's your secret then…" His hand glided over her bare thigh. "…I think we can overlook it…"
She put her hand over his and forced his movements to a halt. "That's not all of it."
He raised his eyebrows, inquisitively. "Oh?"
"I haven't told you who I am working for."
"Go on then."
"It's…it's Frieza."
Vegeta's hand involuntarily shot back from her. His eyes widened and he studied her face. "Frieza. You're working as a spy for Frieza?!"
She nodded and bit her lip. She watched him stand up and walk away from her. "Vegeta?"
"That's Prince Vegeta to you," he said, furiously.
"But…I…"
"I don't believe this," he said, walking to the window. "I've been fucking Frieza's bitch all along."
She stood, anger flashed in her eyes. "How dare you!"
"How dare I?" he exclaimed. "You were probably the one who sent Frieza the okay to come here and get me. That's why you were acting so strange when I mentioned his name."
"No!" she cried. "That's not true. I haven't been in contact with him since I was captured."
"No one told me that they found a communicator on you," Vegeta said. "Do you have one that they didn't find?"
She looked at the floor.
"I knew it," he say declared.
"You're wrong," she said. "My communicator…"
"I don't want to hear it," Vegeta said, going to the door. "I don't even want to look at you. When that lizard comes you can go back with him! That's where you belong isn't it?"
He walked out of the room and slammed the door. Bulma collapsed on the bed in tears.
"What a fool I was!" she sobbed into the pillows. "I thought he would understand, but he wouldn't even let me finish speaking. If I don't have Vegeta then what do I have?" She pulled the sheets over her body and cried herself to sleep.
>>>
Bulma woke to the sound of someone moving around her room. She sat up in surprise and when her eyes focused, she spotted Amara.
"Oh Amara." She dashed out of bed, pulling the sheets with her when she realized that she was still only in her undergarments. "I told Vegeta that I was a spy and he…"
Amara frowned and took a step back. "Don't touch me!"
Bulma looked at her. "W-what?"
"I heard what you told Vegeta," Amara said. "Everyone heard. How dare you live among us and act as our friend! I didn't know if you were a spy or not, but I didn't make any judgments. I was beginning to trust you, I wanted to get to know you, and you seemed like such a nice person. I can't believe you were a spy."
"Amara…"
"Our men have checked up on it and Frieza will be here in two days."
Bulma frowned at her. "Vegeta wouldn't listen to me, but please you've got to hear me out. I may be a spy, but I…"
"Bulma, I'm sorry," Amara said. "I shouldn't even be talking to you right now. If Vegeta hadn't fallen in love with you, you would be dead right now. Lying to the Prince…to everyone… it's shameful."
"There's nothing I can say now," Bulma said, sitting on the edge of the bed, "to convince you that I wasn't giving information to Frieza."
"I bet he sent you here to find out the status of our people, and how strong the Prince and King are, is that correct?"
Bulma didn't answer.
"And your Earthling friend, Chi Chi, is she a spy for Frieza, also?"
"No!" she cried, suddenly. "Chi Chi is definitely not a spy. Just leave her out of this."
Amara scoffed. "I just came up here to get something that I left behind the other day." She snatched a book from a cushion on the couch. "You are not permitted to leave this room. There will be a guard present at the door at all times. Just like when you first arrived here." She opened the door, but turned. "As soon as you gained our trust, you let us all down." She closed the door behind her.
>>>
~TWO DAYS LATER~
Radditz ushered Bulma into the same room she had been taken to upon first being captured. There were two other soldiers who she had never seen before walking along with them.
The King sat on his throne and Vegeta was standing beside him. Vegeta glanced at Bulma as the soldiers pushed her farther into the room. Her eyes met his and he turned away.
Bulma had been able to speak with Chi Chi, briefly. She had told her not to give up on Vegeta. Frieza was going to take Vegeta along with him, of this they were certain, and that would mean that Bulma and he would be on the same ship. Chi Chi had convinced Bulma that she needed to keep trying to talk to him until he heard her out.
She turned and saw Kakarot come in the door with Chi Chi. He had his arm thrown around her. Chi Chi looked at Bulma and nodded. Bulma sighed. Chi Chi was right, she had to find a way to make Vegeta understand.
Chi Chi and Kakarot stayed by the doorway. Kakarot looked at King Vegeta and spoke, "Your Highness, Lord Frieza has arrived."
"Very well," the King said. "See him into this room."
Kakarot nodded and left Chi Chi standing by the doorway alone. Moments later, more soldiers and Frieza walked into the room. Vegeta stiffened at the sight of the tyrant.
"Hello, King Vegeta," Frieza said.
King Vegeta nodded at him.
"I want to speak with you alone," he said.
The King nodded and rose from his throne. He and Frieza walked out of the room. They were gone for about five minutes and during that time the other room stayed absolutely silent.
The King returned to the room, but Frieza stayed near the door. King Vegeta focused his attention on his son and strode over to him.
"Vegeta," he said, sternly. "You are to go with Frieza."
Vegeta looked at him for a moment and then nodded.
"Take some soldiers of your choosing to go along with you," Frieza added. "The limit is three."
Vegeta's eyes met Radditz's. He stepped forward and nodded. "I will go."
Chi Chi looked up at Kakarot. He looked down at her and gave a small smile. "Me too."
Chi Chi's eyes widened and he tightened his arm around her waist. She leaned against him and sighed.
"Are they who you want to choose?" King Vegeta asked.
"Yes," Vegeta responded.
"Wonderful," Frieza said, finally entering the room. "I'm glad to have you onboard, Prince Vegeta. You will serve me well."
Vegeta frowned deeply at him and his father nudged him. Vegeta sighed. "Yes."
Freiza smirked. "Gather your things and your men. I will expect you onboard my ship in fifteen minutes." He looked over and noticed Bulma for the first time. "Unhand her. What do you think you're doing?"
The soldiers stepped away from her. He smiled and walked up to her.
"I'm so lucky to have my people here to send me information."
The King's eyes widened. "You mean she was a spy."
Frieza nodded. "Oh yes, among many of mine. I had to make sure if I came to this planet it was for good reason." He laughed.
King Vegeta looked at his son. Vegeta met his eyes for a moment and then turned away.
"Remember," Frieza said, motioning for Bulma to leave the room with him. "Fifteen minutes."
>>>
"Radditz! You can't go! Are you insane?" Amara fell against him, sobbing. "You can't leave me."
"My duty is to protect the prince," he said. "And that's what I'm going to do. I'm needed there the most. You'll be fine here." He touched her cheek.
"But you know how reckless you are," Amara said.
He placed his fingers over her lips. "I promise I'll be careful."
She pulled away. "I swear, Radditz, if you do anything stupid and get yourself killed I will never forgive you!"
"Amara." He pulled her to his chest. "Please calm down. You're making a scene."
"I don't care," she whispered into his chest.
Chi Chi, Kakarot and Bardock were near the wall by the door of Radditz and Amara's room. Chi Chi looked at Amara, sympathetically, but kept quiet. She and Kakarot had all ready said their goodbyes.
"It'll be okay," Radditz continued. "My father and Chi Chi will be here with you."
She pulled away from his chest and looked towards them. Radditz gave a small smile and picked up his bags. "I have to go now."
Amara wrapped her arms around his torso. He dropped the suitcases and placed one arm around her waist and the other hand at the back of her head. He kissed her gently at first, but she pressed her hungry mouth to his. She kissed him, as she wanted to go right through him. Her desire was so strong and he kissed her back, trying to fulfill that need.
When they finally broke away, tears were running trails down Amara face. Radditz wiped them away and ran his fingers over her lips.
"Take care," he said. He glanced at his father. "Make sure she stays safe. If anything goes wrong I'm going to blame you."
Bardock raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?"
"Please watch over Chi Chi and Gohan, too," Kakarot added.
Bardock nodded. "All right, I'll make sure nothing unfortunate happens to your women or Gohan."
"Thanks," Kakarot said.
"Amara, aren't you going to see me off?" Radditz asked.
She nodded. He picked up his suitcases again and she slipped her arm through his.
>>>
Amara, Chi Chi and Bardock stood together and watched the others board the ship.
"He's really leaving me," Amara said, quietly.
Chi Chi patted her on the shoulder. "Everything is going to be all right." She shook her head. "I thought we left Earth to avoid Frieza."
Amara nodded. "What a turn of events. And Radditz is acting so indifferent. I think I'm the one being afraid for him."
"The boys will be fine," Bardock assured them. "They can take care of themselves."
"I know," Amara said.
The ship lifted off and they watched it until they couldn't see it anymore.
"It's funny," Bardock said. "Now it seems like Prince Vegeta is at Bulma's mercy."
Amara nodded. "I would have never thought Bulma was working for Frieza. She didn't seem like…" She shook her head. "I just don't know anymore. None of this makes sense."
"Maybe there is more to her than what it seems," Chi Chi said, suddenly.
Bardock looked at her. "What do you mean?"
She smiled. "Nothing. I should be getting back to Gohan now." She turned and started towards the palace again.
"What?"
Bardock shrugged. "I don't know, but let's get back inside."
Amara nodded and walked beside him the way Chi Chi had gone.

A/N: What could Chi Chi have meant by that comment? Is there more behind Bulma than the others know? What could it be? Find out next time and you're in for a surprise!
It took me a while to get this chapter together how I wanted it. Whew! It sure was a lot of work and pretty frustrating, too. But now that I've got this chapter done, the rest should be smooth sailing. Well…at least I can hope. I'll work hard to produce the next chapters! Thanks for reading my fics! Until next time… ^_^
-Celestial Princess
Amara: What's up with Bulma anyway?
Bardock: I don't know. The woman's like a walking mystery.
Vegeta: (musingly) I wonder if I'll get some on the ship.
Bardock and Amara: (Sweatdrop)
Bardock: I thought you were onboard the ship!
Amara: Yeah and do you ever think of anything else?
Vegeta: (Still deep in thought, mumbles to himself, incoherently)
Amara: (Sigh) I hope you will come back for Chapter 11!
Bardock: Yeah, I want to know what the surprise is, too!
