Chapter Sixteen
Kakarot fell back on his bed. "I guess were still stuck with Frieza."
Radditz leaned back in his chair. "Guess so. This plan was supposed to come into effect four hours ago."
"What exactly was the plan?" Kakarot asked. "I don't recall anyone ever going over it in-depth."
"That's because no one did," his elder brother said, lowering his chair. "Bulma didn't bother to inform us." He chuckled. "And If Vegeta was telling me the truth, she didn't tell him much either."
"Really? Well I guess I don't feel so bad anymore."
Suddenly, the room began to shake violently, followed by the screech of metal giving way. Radditz's chair tipped over, spilling him onto the floor. He looked up at the window, but didn't see anything.
"What the hell?" Radditz got to his feet and Kakarot sat up.
The lights shut off and there was the sound of machines shutting down. The small emergency lights came on, illuminating the room about one-fourth of its original lighting.
"Do you think this is it?" Kakarot asked.
"Could be," Radditz said, going to the door. He turned the handle, but the door wouldn't open. "Shit, this stupid door is locked. The main computers are probably set on lock-down mode." He kicked the door in and glanced back at his brother. "Come on!"
They ran down the halls that were filled with people yelling and running around frantically. Something collided with the ship again, knocking everyone off of their feet.
Alarms started to blare as the third collision came. A deafening sound filled the air around them. The halls began to fill with smoke. The people began to get to their feet again.
Kakarot stood and pulled his brother along with him. The ship was rocketed with explosions as enemy ships fired at them.
"What's going on?" Radditz cried over the noise. "This couldn't be the plan…"
"I wouldn't be so sure," Kakarot said. "Look!"
Ahead of them in the hallway, Vegeta was standing off to the side, leaning against the wall. He watched as Radditz and Kakarot make their way over to him.
When they got to him, he motioned for them to follow him into a room. He shut the door behind them.
"What's going on?" Kakarot asked. "Is this it? Or are we being attacked?"
"Both," Vegeta said. "The woman sent for her father and I guess this is his idea of a diversion."
"Some diversion!" Radditz said. "We could have all been killed back there."
A notably loud explosion rocked the ship. Vegeta went to the door and opened it. Radditz and Kakarot went to take a look as well. There was a large hole in the ceiling of the hall.
"Shit!" Radditz said. "It's like a black hole. Everyone's getting sucked out into space."
"That could have been us," Kakarot said, watching a few people get sucked through the hole.
"Son of a bitch!" Vegeta said. "Come on, we're not going to wait around for our demise."
"What are we going to do?" Kakarot asked.
"Vegeta? Vegeta!" the sound was coming from the scouter he was holding in his right hand.
Vegeta placed it over his eye and he could see Bulma's face on the screen. "What the hell does your father think he's doing, woman?"
"I honestly don't know," she said. "I'm down on the first floor, in a pod. Where are you?"
"On the third floor," he responded. "Let me guess, you want us down there?"
"Please?" she asked.
"Sure, no problem, just let me find the nearest elevator," he said, sarcastically. "Maybe we'll be lucky and the giant hole in the fucking ceiling won't draw us into it!"
She frowned at him. "Stop complaining and get your ass down here." The screen went black and her voice faded out.
Vegeta turned to the others.
"We can't go out into the hall," Kakarot said, shutting the door as the pull became stronger.
Vegeta extended his arm towards the floor. "Hn." His hand began to glow slightly as he began to form a ki ball.
"What if you hit something vital?" Radditz asked.
Vegeta glanced up at him. "We'll have to take that chance." He blew a hole through the floor, wide enough for them to get through.
While they were slowly flying themselves down, Vegeta created a hole in the next floor. They continued down that hole and landed on the first level.
They ended up in another room. Vegeta opened the door and was greeted by the sound of more yelling and running feet. The people were moving in the direction of where the pods were kept.
The Saiya-jins followed the crowd and entered the room. Vegeta looked around and finally spotted Bulma standing near a pod. She had a laser gun in her hand, most likely to keep away anyone who tried to steal her pod.
They ran towards her and she opened the hatch. She waited for the Saiya-jins to climb in and closed the hatch. She started the pod and glanced around.
"None of the doors will open for us to leave through," she said. "Guess I'll have to make one of my own."
She fired a laser at the wall and it caved in. People screamed as the change in atmosphere caused the hole to act as the one on the third floor had.
Bulma was the only one who was seat belted in, so the force threw the Saiya-jins against the walls. She glanced at them, with an apologetic look on her face.
When they had exited Frieza's ship, Vegeta stood and put his hands on the back of the pilot's chair. "Woman, what took so long?"
"My father and his crew ran into difficulties," she explained. "Sorry."
"What if Frieza escapes?" Kakarot asked, looking out of the window.
"He probably has all ready," she said. "The nearest planet is that one there, so he'll probably land on it." She pointed to a light blue planet in the distance. "My father's troops stationed on it with the order to shoot down enemy ships and kill any of Frieza's men."
"Is your father the ruler of your planet?" Kakarot asked.
She laughed. "Oh Kami, no! He's just the head of Capsule Corp. But Frieza has been oppressing the people of Earth for a while now. All my father had to do was ask for volunteers and needless to say there were many of them." She looked around. "All those ships out there with the "C" on them, are property of Capsule Corp. They're on our side."
"We're not just going to hover around this area, are we?" Vegeta asked, when he noticed she didn't seem to be taking them anywhere.
"Of course not," she said. "We're going to land on the main ship where my father is. Don't you see it there?" She pointed. "Don't worry, we'll be onboard in a few minutes. Hang in there."

Amara: What do you mean you don't know? You're the writer.
Celestial Princess: Oh yeah, I almost forgot!
Amara: (Sigh)
