Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ The Prince's Captive ❯ Chapter 17
Chapter Seventeen
Bulma landed the pod inside the main ship, safely. When she opened the hatch and climbed out, men came running up to her calling her name and asking if she was all right.
But when Vegeta and the other Saiya-jins emerged from the pod, the men backed off, wide-eyed. Vegeta smirked, enjoying the hell out of how they feared him when he hadn't even done anything yet.
Bulma spoke to one of the men, "I want to talk to my father."
One of the men came to her side. "Of course. He wishes to speak with you as well. I'll escort you to him. My name is Yamcha."
She nodded at him. "Hello."
Yamcha led them out of the room and down a glistening chrome hallway. They rounded a bend and stopped when they saw a silhouette of a man. He was standing in front of a door to a room. He took a step foreword and a smile broke out on Bulma's face.
"Daddy," she cried, running over to him and throwing her arms around him.
He laughed. "My daughter, I thought I would never see you again."
She pulled away from him and smiled. "How could you think like that?"
He touched her face and then glanced at the Saiya-jins standing a few feet behind her. "I want to talk to you, Bulma."
"Go ahead."
"Alone."
Bulma frowned slightly and glanced back at Vegeta. His eyes narrowed and he stepped foreword. Bulma let go of her father and went to him.
"It's all right," she whispered to him. "I'll be fine and I shouldn't be too long."
"You're coming back with me," he stated, firmly.
She nodded and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. She glanced back at her father who was watching her with a look of disapproval on his face.
"Yamcha," Dr. Briefs said. "Come with Bulma and me." He turned to a man who was approaching them from behind. "This is Krillin, I'll have him escort the Saiya-jins to some rooms." He looked at Bulma. "You'll stay onboard our ship for at least one night, won't you?"
She nodded. "Sure."
Yamcha walked past the Saiya-jins and joined Dr. Briefs and Bulma down the hall. Krillin walked up to Vegeta.
"How's it going?" he asked.
Vegeta was set back a little by this smaller man's somewhat high-pitched voice. Vegeta growled at him and Krillin's eyes widened a touch.
The Prince pushed past Krillin. "Are you going to do your job or what?"
"Sheesh! Nice to meet you too," Krillin said, mostly to himself.
He turned as Kakarot approached him and a look of fear came over his face. He must have heard me, Krillin thought.
"Hey," Kakarot said, looking down at him. "Don't mind him. He's Prince Vegeta. I'm Kakarot and this is my brother Radditz."
Radditz gave a slight nod and said, "Stop being so damned friendly, you've been living with that Earthling woman too long. So I assume you know this small human?"
Krillin frowned at being called small.
Kakarot shook his head. "No, I've never seen him before."
"I can take you to your rooms now," Krillin said. "Now that it looks like I've been reduced to a bellboy." He smiled slightly. "Got any suitcases I can carry?"
As they began to walk, Kakarot asked, "What do you mean `reduced'?"
"Yeah," Vegeta agreed. "What were you before? A farmer?"
Krillin frowned. "I am a fighter."
Vegeta laughed. "I didn't know you had a sense of humor. Now tell us what you really do."
"That is what I really do."
"I suppose you're on of the strongest on Earth?" Vegeta asked.
He nodded. "Well, yes."
"Pitiful." He stopped at a window and looked out at the planet Bulma had indicated earlier. "If that's the case then I'll be willing to bet anything that Frieza and his men are alive down there and the Earthlings are dead."
Krillin stood in front of a door and pushed the button to open it. "Don't underestimate me."
Vegeta turned on him. "Is that a threat?"
Krillin shook his head slowly. "This is your room."
Vegeta moved to stand beside him and peered into the room. He turned and suddenly punched Krillin in the face, causing him to be forced back into the large glass window. He lay propped against the glass, unmoving. Fortunately the glass didn't shatter.
Vegeta moved inside the room. Radditz had his eyes on Krillin and Kakarot moved up behind Vegeta. Abruptly, the door swished shut in Kakarot's face. He took a step back and looked at the closed door.
Radditz went over to Krillin and nudged him with his boot. Kakarot joined his brother.
"Is he dead?" Kakarot asked.
"Nah," Radditz said. "He's still breathing."
After a moment, Krillin opened his eyes and slowly got to his feet, holding his face.
"So I take it any vacant room down this hall is fine?" Radditz asked, with a chaser of laughter to his voice.
Krillin mumbled, "Sure," and then walked away from them.
The brothers laughed as they continued down the hall.
"I wonder what's got Vegeta so pissed off," Kakarot mused.
"Probably the prospect that Bulma might go back to Earth," Radditz said. "Just be glad he didn't take out his anger on you."
"Yeah," Kakarot agreed. "I wonder what Vegeta would do to Dr. Breifs if he tried to force Bulma to go back with him."
"He wouldn't," Radditz said. "Vegeta would tear him limb from limb." He paused. "On second thought I'd like to see that."
"Bulma wouldn't."
He laughed. "Guess not."
Kakarot stopped at a door and opened it. "How's this room?"
Radditz shrugged and entered the room. "They're all just the same."

"I've told you a million times that I can't go back to Earth right away!" Bulma cried.
"But that's where you belong," he said. "Your mother misses you, all your friends miss you…"
"We have to make sure this fight is over," she said. "I have to go to Vegeta-sei and like I said before," she paused and lowered her eyes, "I'm pregnant."
"He raped you, didn't he?"
"What? No! He would never…"
"Then he made you his sex slave?"
"No father! Listen to me! Vegeta has never forced me to do anything I didn't want to," she said.
Dr. Briefs frowned. "Are you actually telling me that you willingly gave yourself to a Saiya-jin? After all that you've heard…"
"Don't give me that `all that you've heard' bullshit!" she yelled. "You can't go by what you hear, you've got to experience it! And I have…and I'm going back with him. You know you can't change my mind so stop trying to."
He looked at her, wide-eyed. "Bulma…"
She held up her hand. "And if you did try to take me with you, you'd never make it. And what you've heard about the Saiya-jins would become a reality. Vegeta would kill you. He's not going to just give me up and I don't want to be."
He sighed. "But you will come back?"
She nodded. "Eventually, yes. I've been gone this long what's another month or so? Besides, this time I'm not at Frieza's mercy, no one is going to harm me on Vegeta-sei."
"Are you sure of that?"
"Yes," she lifted her head, "I am."

Bulma exited the room alone and spotted Yamcha standing beside the door. He smiled at her as the door shut behind her.
"Have a nice little talk?" he asked.
"More or less," she said. "I got what I wanted."
"I never thought I'd really meet you in person," he said. "I've seen you in magazines and on TV. You're very beautiful."
She frowned. "Well, thank you."
"Your father asked me to guard the door," he said. "I could still hear your conversation with him. You know, Earth is where you belong."
"Don't you start," she said. "What did you say your name was again?"
"Yamcha."
"Well Yamcha, good night." She turned to walk away, but he grabbed her arm.
She turned on him. "Let go of me…"
He leaned into her for a kiss and she slapped him with her free hand. He frowned and let go of her. "You deserve better than that Saiya-jin."
"Show me a better man and I'll think about it," she said, crossing her arms under her breasts.
His frown deepened. "I'm going to overlook that comment and give you one night with me. I can show you better than tell you."
"Go to hell," Bulma said. "Even if I did agree, Vegeta would kill you and you know it. Don't be an idiot! I'm happy where I am so just stay away from me." Another thought crossed her mind. "Did my father put you up to this?"
"No," he said. "I'm just an ordinary man trying to save you from a demon, but it looks like you've found comfort in his arms."
"I have," she said. "And it's none of your concern. So goodbye."
"That's too bad," he said. "Maybe if Freiza hadn't interfered with Earth, we would have met somewhere down the line. We could have had something."
"Not likely," she said, turning and walking hastily down the hall. She turned and looked over her shoulder, but he was gone.
She rounded a few corners and nearly walked into Krillin. "Hi." She blinked when she noticed a bruise blossoming on his face. "What happened to you?"
He shook his head.
Or maybe I should have asked him who? she thought. Something tells me it was Vegeta's doing.
He tried to walk around her, but she said, "Wait. Can you just tell me what room Vegeta is staying in?"
He frowned. "Keep going down this hall until you come to the fourth door on the right."
She nodded. "Thanks. Night!"
"Night," he said, walking past her.
She found the door and pushed the button on the side. The room was dark and she caught sight of Vegeta lying in the bed. He appeared to be sleeping.
She went to his bedside and reached out for him. She ran her fingers lightly over his face and then pulled back. Maybe I shouldn't bother him tonight.
She turned to leave and felt something wrap around her wrist. She looked down to see Vegeta's tail. She looked at him. His eyes were open and he was looking at her with small smirk on his face.
"Fondling me in my sleep again?" he asked.
She laughed. "I suppose I can't help myself."
He pulled her towards him and she put one knee on the bed. He unwound his tail from her wrist and she slid onto the sheets beside him.
"Well? Did you talk to him?"
She nodded.
He waited for her to say something and when she didn't he asked, "And…?"
She smiled. "We're taking a ship to Vegeta-sei bright and early in the morning."
A look of satisfaction came over his face.
She scooted closer and kissed him gently. He pulled her even closer and intensified the kiss.
"Mind if I stay with you tonight?" she asked, after pulling away.
He smirked. "What do you think, woman?"
