Chapter Twenty-Seven

“Goodness. I never thought I'd have a wedding like this,” Bulma said, after Amara finished explaining the mating ceremony in depth.

“But aren't you excited?” Amara asked.

“Of course,” she said.

“And little Trunks is excited too. Just look at him.”

Trunks cooed from Amara's arms and looked up at her, though he wasn't really seeing her face.

Bulma laughed. “It looks like it.”

Vegeta and his crew, minus Nappa, had returned to Vegeta-sei two days ago. Not even ten minutes after Vegeta and Bulma had been reunited did her water break.

It was about time, Bulma was starting to look like a penguin waddling around the castle and she was relieved the time had come. But none of the others had seen Vegeta look so flustered in his entire life. It was probably due to the fact that he couldn't do anything to help his mate.

Bulma spent sixteen hours in labor before giving birth to a healthy baby boy, whom she affectionately named Trunks. Vegeta and the other Saiya-jins didn't understand why she wanted to name the baby Trunks, but none decided to argue too much with her.

“Do you think you can watch him during the ceremony?” Bulma asked.

“Sure thing. The little guy seems to like my anyway.” She smiled.

“Yeah and you need to practice being a mother,” Bulma said, turning back to the mirror.

Amara laughed. “That's right.” She slipped her finger into Trunks' little hand and smiled when he tightened his hand slightly around it. “I can keep him all day if you want. I know you and Vegeta will want to be alone after the ceremony. It's been a while, hasn't it?” She winked.

Bulma blushed. “Amara!”

“I'm just saying if that's what you want I don't mind watching him.”

“Thank you, Amara. You're the greatest.”

There came a knock at the door and Amara opened it to reveal Radditz.

“Hey,” he said. “That baby looks good in your arms.” He laughed.

Trunks had closed his eyes, concealing his crystalline blue eyes. Bulma came over and touched the tuft of purple hair on her son's head.

“Yeah, Amara has a real knack for it,” she said, taking her son from Amara's arms.

Amara frowned. “Would you two stop it? What did you come here for Radditz?”

Radditz glanced to his side and Dr. Briefs stepped into sight. Bulma's eyes brightened. “Daddy!”

“Hello,” he said. He had his arm around a chipper looking blonde.

“Oh, Amara these are my parents,” Bulma said.

Amara nodded. “It's nice to meet you.”

“Hello,” the couple said.

Mrs. Briefs moved forward. “Oh Bulma, you look well. Can I hold my grandson?”

Bulma gave Trunks to her mother. Trunks cooed and opened his eyes for a moment. He wrapped his tail around Mrs. Briefs' arm a few times and closed his eyes again.

“Well look at that!” she cried. “How cute.”

Amara blinked. She'd never met anyone who sounded so air-headed in her life.

“Prince Vegeta is waiting for you,” Radditz said suddenly, giving a small bow.

“Oh thank you,” Bulma said. “Mother, would you like to watch Trunks?”

She nodded. “Yes, I'd love to.”

“Thanks.” She kissed her mother and father before leaving the room with Amara.

Though Amara had discussed the ceremony with Bulma she still wasn't prepared as she stood out there beside Vegeta.

They had decided to combine the mating and crowning ceremony into one. First Vegeta was crowned the new King of Vegeta-sei and then they were mated.

Bulma was disappointed that the Saiya-jins were speaking their native tongue and she couldn't understand a word. She only did what Amara told her to do upon her cues.

At the end of the ceremony, Vegeta had moved close to Bulma and encircled her in his arms. She could feel her heart jumping, but she settled back in his arms.

He inched his face toward her neck and she closed her eyes. His teeth pierced her skin and she gasped at the sharp pain. He sucked at her neck for a little before, licking the wound closed.

From what Bulma had learned from Amara, apparently Saiya-jins had coagulants in their saliva. As gross as that sounded, Amara said it was best. She didn't want to keep bleeding after the wound was open, did she?

Bulma's parents had been told about this part of the ceremony so that they wouldn't be surprised. Amara, who had been sitting nearby Mrs. Briefs, heard her ask if Vegeta was a vampire or something.

Amara didn't know what a vampire was, but she assumed that Mrs. Briefs' comment had been an air-headed one.

Night had fallen upon Vegeta-sei and Bulma and Vegeta had retired to the King's quarters. Vegeta tossed Bulma down on the bed and she cried out in surprise.

“Hey take it easy,” she said, as he moved on top of her.

“You're mine now.” His words sounded more like a growl.

“I was always yours.” She cupped his face in her hands and smiled.

“Not officially.” He lowered his head and she pulled back her hands.

“What's the difference?”

“Now I can kill anyone who even looks at you in a way I don't like.”

She giggled. “You would have done that anyway.” She gasped when he tore off one of the buttons on her shirt with his teeth. “Vegeta!”

He held the button in his teeth and she took it from him.

“You'll ruin my clothes,” she protested.

“So I'll buy you some more.” He pushed her back on the bed and kissed her, demandingly.

She moaned and slid her hands under his shirt. He made a sound when her cold hands touched his flesh, but didn't pull away.

A resounding knock on the door echoed through the room. Bulma pulled away from Vegeta and he growled.

“Who is it?” Bulma asked.

“It's me. I need to talk to you.”

Bulma pushed at Vegeta. “That's my father.” She noticed the look on his face and smiled. “I'll only be a minute, okay?”

He moved off of her, but didn't look happy about it. Bulma slid off the bed and fixed her shirt the best she could with its missing button.

She opened the door to see Dr. Briefs standing there. She stepped out of the room and closed the door tightly behind her.

“I had to come talk to you, Bulma. I couldn't wait until tomorrow. I wanted to tell you that even though I would be happier having you on Earth, I respect your decision to stay here on this planet with the man you've fallen in love with.”

“Thank you, daddy.” She hugged him. “You and mom will come and visit, right?”

“Yes.” He pulled back. “I also wanted to apologize for what happened with Yamcha. I honestly had no idea that he felt so strongly about you and I never thought he would have gone to such extremities.”

Bulma smiled. “It's okay. I don't blame you for that. It's all done and forgotten now.”

He nodded. “I've all ready thanked your…husband for killing Frieza. Now we can all live in peace.”

“Yes. Who's watching Trunks, you and mom or Amara?”

He laughed. “Your mother is watching him. She doesn't want to put her grandson down.” He shook his head. “Sorry to have bothered you.”

“Good night.”

“Good night,” he said, turning and walking down the hall.

Bulma smiled and opened the bedroom door again. She was surprised to see Vegeta wearing only pants, which he was in the process of taking off.

She laughed.

“What's so funny?”

“You,” she said. “I just had a baby, you know. We can't have intercourse this soon.”

“What?! That's not funny, woman.”

She put her hands on her hips. “My name is Bulma and I'm not joking, Vegeta.” She walked over to the bed.

He pushed her down on the bed and lay down beside her. “All right. So we won't have intercourse.”

She raised an eyebrow at him. “But…”

“But there are other things we can do.” He smiled.

“Like what?” She gasped when she felt his tail slide past the hem of her pants.

“Oh I think you've figured it out by now.” He moved on top of her.

She laughed and pulled his head down for a kiss. “I love you Vegeta and I'm yours…now and forever.”
