Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ THE TRUNKS AND ALANNA SAGA ❯ Vegeta's Intervention ( Chapter 3 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

A/N: hey all, it's me again c(o: Anyway, in response to nycscribe46..first of all thanks for reading :) And for the comment about the way it was written. I worked hard on the fic and it took six months to finish XD Anyway as to your question about Vegeta, there really was no motive set up and you'll have to wait and see if there ever is one. If you still have questions at the end of the fic you can certainly ask, but all may or may not be revealed in time *evil laugh*. There isn't much background to this story because I wrote it for a friend (obviously named Alanna -_-`) so the background existed only in our minds. I can try to explain what I was thinking at the end of the fanfiction if you still have questions, but hopefully enough will be revealed that you can understand it. Mostly it's just him being grumpy and he doesn't like the Trunks and Alanna deal in general. There'll be many more twists in the plot so stay tuned. That's all for now, see you….whenever someone asks another question! c(o:

Chapter Three

"Vegeta's Intervention"

"BOY!!! You're not training enough!" A familiar, grouchy voice hollered. Trunks sighed and rose. He shrugged helplessly. "Sorry...uh...Snuggles?" Alanna shook her head.

"Yeah I know...anyway uh...see you later." He turned and left to answer his father.

Trunks found him in the gravity room. Of course, he sighed, might as well get this done. He set his shirt on the floor and stepped inside, ready. Instead of charging him like he usually did, Vegeta simply turned, standing normally instead of in a fighting stance. Trunks eyed him warily. This had to be some sort of test. Vegeta went and sat in the middle of the room. "I'm not going to fight you today. Come sit."

He's gone MAD!!! Trunks thought.

Vegeta narrowed his eyes. "I said SIT, NOW!"

Trunks decided it was best to obey, but be ready. He did as Vegeta ordered.

Vegeta smirked as if to say "damn right."

"I wanted to speak with you about...your friend."

Trunks looked puzzled. "My friend? What friend?" He paused, thinking. "You mean Alanna?" Vegeta nodded slowly.

Trunks waited for him to say more. Finally, he prompted, "what about Alanna?"

Vegeta scowled as though his son had spoken out of turn. Trunks cast his eyes down apologetically. He should have known better than to try to make Vegeta speak when he wasn't ready. Vegeta nodded slightly in approval of Trunks' wisdom. At last, he was ready to begin. "I don't think she's...a good idea." What the hell was going on? "I don't approve of you spending so much time with her." He was sounding stern now.

Trunks was shell-shocked. Who was he to intrude? Trunks stood swiftly, furious. "How dare you try to tell me who I can or can't consort with?!" He bellowed.

Vegeta leapt up also, hands clenched into fists, angry that his son would dare to defy him. "I FORBID you to see her!"

"She lives in the same house, Dad!" Trunks argued.

"You'll just have to try harder then!" Vegeta countered.

"I WON'T!" Trunks roared and stormed off.

Alanna sat wondering how Trunks' training was going. She drummed her fingers on the arm of the couch. The blanket was still warm where it had been wrapped around Trunks. She snuggles into it and sighed, it smelled like Trunks. She blinked rapidly, drawing back. What was she thinking? It's a damn blanket, idiot, wake up! She tried, but couldn't. She blinked quickly again, this time trying not to cry. Trunks... She wiped her eyes. This was pathetic! Crying over a blanket! She sat straight up and forced herself to set the blanket aside. Just then, Trunks stalked in, grumbling. The moment he saw Alanna, however, his expression lightened.

"Hi again! Feeling better?"

Alanna nodded, also feeling much better now that Trunks was around again. He sat down beside her, tapping his foot anxiously. "There's something I'd...like to ask you..." He glanced over nervously.

Alanna turned, so she was facing him. "I'm listening." She assured him.

Trunks licked his lips, still looking timid and uncomfortable. "Uh...I..." He thought of his father's words and narrowed his eyes slightly. "I wanted to know if you'd like to go out with me. On Saturday. Dinner, movie, whole nine yards." He waited, his life resting in her hands.

Alanna just looked at him with wide eyes.

"Is...that a no?" He questioned smally.

Alanna blinked rapidly. "Huh? What? NO! Nono, that'd be great. Sure! Yes, of course!" She threw her arms around him and hugged him tightly.

Trunks smiled, relieved and excited. "Cool." Was all he could say.

Cool indeed, Alanna thought. They sat quietly a long while, Alanna still wrapped and Trunks rubbing her back.
