Chapter 20: Home Sweet Home
Bulma was actually somewhat nervous about going to the palace. She had always wanted to know what it was like when she was a little girl. Now she was actually going there and had no idea what to expect. Vegeta kept her hand firmly in his and his tail was wrapped protectively around her waist. She smiled at the gesture. She looked around her almost forgotten home. She was so happy to be back. She wondered if any of her childhood friends were still on the planet or if they had been sent off by now. She knew most of them had had mediocre fighting powers at best when they were young so there was a possibility that they had never left Vegeta-Sei.
She couldn't believe all the stares and bows they were receiving. Every person they walked passed bowed in respect for the prince. It had been a good many years since the planet had seen its prince. Many people took the time to stop and stare at her as well. It had not escaped anyone's notice how possessively the prince held onto her. She sighed as she thought about the current situation. As the prince's chosen mate and carrier of the new heir to Vegeta-Sei she would have to be introduced to the public. She wasn't looking forward to that. Keeping a low profile had always been a challenge for her. Now it was practically an impossibility.
They finally made it to the palace gates. It wasn't nearly as big as she remembered it. Of course, she had been barely 4 years old the last time she saw the palace so of course it would have seemed much bigger back then. Vegeta lead them inside the palace and Bulma thought she would fall over. The palace was MUCH larger inside than it looked from the outside. It looked more like a black citadel from the outside than a royal palace. The ceilings had to be at least 200 feet high. The chandeliers were made of solid gold and diamonds and there were dozens of them. The floors were made of polished black marble and blood red carpets lead to various doorways and entrances. The floor to ceiling windows had dark red curtains around them. She imagined the palace would be pitch black if those curtains were closed during the day.
As soon as they entered they were bombarded by various servants. A beautiful female of a race Bulma had never seen approached them. She was very tall, about 7 feet give or take a few inches. She had flame red hair that flowed all the way to her knees and tiny slits for eyes. Her knees were bent backwards like a horses back legs and she had large deadly hooves for feet. She had vicious looking claws instead of finger nails. Her very presence scared Bulma. However, she quickly took note of the collar around her neck that indicated she was a slave. The five rubies in the gold collar indicated she was of the highest rank a slave could get.
The woman bowed before the prince and offered a warm welcoming smile. “Welcome home my prince.” She looked over at Bulma and bowed her head in respect. “My lady, I am Ralindra. I shall be your personal Royal Maiden from here on. The prince called ahead to inform us of your arrival. It is an honor to meet you.” Bulma nodded in recognition and smiled. A Royal Maiden was like a lady in waiting. She was to attend to Bulma's every need and would be a trusted 'friend' so to speak. Ralindra bowed again. “I will also be your physician from here on and will be monitoring your pregnancy.” Bulma was slightly surprised. A Royal Maiden and a Midwife. No wonder she had five rubies on her collar. This woman was practically a citizen.
Bulma smiled warmly at her. “It is an honor to meet you Ralindra. I look forward to getting to know you.” At this Vegeta gave her a slight tug with his tail. “That will be all Ralindra. I assume my chambers are prepared as I ordered?”
Ralindra gave him a nod. “Of course your highness. My lady's things are in your chambers and all accommodations needed for a female have been made.”
He nodded and continued on their way. Vegeta lead her up a huge staircase and through the winding halls of the palace. Finally they came to a hallway that had no other doors in it except one at the very end. At the end of the hall was a set of huge double doors that looks at though five men would be needed to open the doors. Vegeta pushed the door open and stepped aside holding his hand out to allow her to go in first. He had a very satisfied smirk on his face. Bulma took the hint and stepped inside.
She was met with the most glorious site. The entire room was bigger than the house she had been born in. The room alone looked like it could sleep 50 people. The bed at the far end of the room could hardly be called king size when it looked like 10 kings could sleep in it. The sheets on the bed were black silk and a large red comforter was on top of it. The carpet was the same blood red she had seen all over the palace and the walls were the same black marble. In the living around on the far southwest side of the room there were two large cushioned chairs and a fireplace. Above the fireplace was a painting of King Vegeta, the Queen, and Vegeta when he was a young boy.
On the northeast side of the room she could see a door that lead to what she assumed was the washroom. Just next to that door in the northeast corner was a set of double doors that was more than likely a walk in closet the size of a small room. The northwest side of the room had a archway leading out onto a balcony. Bulma couldn't help herself as she headed straight for the balcony. She walked through the archway which was covered by thick dark red curtains that could be tied back. She was met with two large crystal sliding doors. She opened them and stepped out onto the balcony and gasped. She could see the entire capital city as well as the outskirts from this view. And down below the balcony was a huge private garden. There was all kinds of exotic beautiful plants that she had never seen before growing. There was so much color going on below the balcony that it made the rest of the palace look barren and out of place.
She covered her mouth as she looked out over the garden. She had never seen anything so beautiful in her life. She nearly jumped out of her skin was she felt a pair of strong arms wrap securely around her waist and pull her against a rock solid chest. She relaxed when she nuzzled her throat. “Well?” He spoke huskily in her ear. She almost giggled, he wanted her approval. “Its...its beautiful Vegeta...the palace, the room, the garden, the view...its all so gorgeous. I've never seen anything like it.”
He chuckled. “I should think not. And just think...” He turned her to face him, his arms still wrapped around her. “Its all yours.” With that he brought his lips down on hers for a soft kiss that caught her by surprise. It took a moment for his statement to sink in. Was he saying what she thought he was saying? No, that couldn't be right. She had to be reading too much into it.
You see on Vegeta-Sei, the King was not required to have a Queen. He was merely required to produce an heir. Having a mate meant nothing more than having a female to produce him an heir and no man could touch her. If he chose, he could easily dispose of her when he felt she was no longer useful. Mating among Sayains simply meant you had found someone you felt like being around for an extended period of time and have mate with. If she read Vegeta's statement the way he had said it...he was offering her to be his Queen...but like state before..she was just reading too much into it. The arrogant prince wasn't the type to have someone ruling along side him.
Bulma was brought out of her thoughts as Vegeta's tongue slipped into her mouth bringing all thought to a stop. Gods the things this man could do to her body were simply amazing. Vegeta finally pulled back leaving her out of breathe and flushed. She could blatantly feel his desire pressed firmly against her thigh. Vegeta smirked and ground his hips against hers for emphasis. “As much as I would love to stay here and fuck you senseless for the remainder of the day...I have to introduce you to the public and announce the pending birth of my heir. The sooner we get it over with the better. Rumors are already flying around about all kinds of nonsense that people can come up with.”
Bulma looked slightly confused. “Like what?”
Vegeta chuckled. “Those who did not know you as a child believe you are an alien. There are rumors that I have taken a peasant as a mate. I believe another I heard was that I mated to a male.” He looked completely horrified at the prospect.
Bulma quirked her eyebrow and stepped back. “With this body, I was really mistaken for a male? Are people blind?!” She did a small twirl for emphasis. “I'm practically the epitome of female!”
Vegeta chuckled and pulled her against him. “Oh trust me. I know.” He gave her a quick kiss before finally letting go of her. “We had best get ready before I forget all about it and proceed to show you just how female you are.” He smirked and walked back into the room. Bulma followed behind him and saw Ralindra waiting patiently at the front of the room. Bulma looked at her expectantly. “If you'll follow me my Lady, I'll help you get ready.”
Bulma nodded and followed her to the closet. Ralindra opened the door and to Bulma's shock it was FULL of female clothes. Once side contained nothing but female armor suits. The other side was littered with gowns and dresses of all kinds. There was more shoes than she had owned in her entire life put together. Bulma frowned, she had never warn a dress in her life! Ralindra stared rummaging through the closet.
Ralindra finally pulled out a gown that was midnight purple. Bulma was not royalty ~yet~ so she could not wear the royal colors to the introduction. Though technically she already did, she couldn't really help her hair color. Purple was the color of the elites so it worked just as well. Bulma swallowed. “Do I really have to wear that?”
Ralindra laughed. “Well of course my Lady. You can't very well introduce yourself to the masses dressed in battle armor!” She quickly rushed Bulma into the back of the closet towards a door Bulma had not noticed before. The room in the back of the closet was a dressing room where she could prepare undisturbed. Bulma sighed and began to strip out of her battle armor. The dress she was supposed to wear was definitely not something she would have picked on her own. It was a dark purple and it was sleeveless. The neckline was low cut in a V and it was backless. She wasn't entirely sure how the dress was supposed to stay on her. The material was sleek and smooth like silk. It had a slight shimmer to it and came up to her knees. The bottom flared out just slightly so that it didn't hug her completely.
Ralindra handed her a pair of heals that laced up her legs to just below her knees. She looked at Ralindra like she was crazy. “I'll break my neck in those! I've never warn anything but combat boots!”
Ralindra smiled and giggled at her. “I don't think I've ever met such an unladylike woman before my Lady. Do not worry, I will have plenty of time to teach you proper etiquette in due time. For now we must get you ready and pray you don't fall in your shoes.” Bulma groaned and complied. She allowed Ralindra to dress her and lace up her heels. Ralindra applied make up to Bulma's face and did her hair up in a curly bun. Bulma felt ridiculous. Her face was painted and her hair was frilly! She looked at Ralindra almost pleadingly. “I feel silly...”
Ralindra couldn't help but laugh. “My Lady you have much to learn. You look gorgeous. Now for the finishing touches.” She brought out a modest black velvet cape with red trim. She fastened it hook on the the top edges of Bulma's dress. So that's how it was kept up! It flowed freely behind her not quite dragging the ground. Next Ralindra pulled out a box from one of the drawers in the closet. It was a very old box from the looks of it. She opened it and to Bulma's surprise, inside was a sparkling tiara. It was modest with its size but the abundance of diamonds made it shine like a crown fit for a queen. Bulma blushed when she looked at it. “I...I can't wear that...” Ralindra smiled and placed it on her head, securing it in her hair. “Of course you can my Lady. This tiara was made for every princess who should grace the royal family. It was warn by the last Queen for she took the throne as King Vegeta's life-mate. And so shall you.”
Bulma blushed profusely. She had never once considered that Vegeta might take her as a life-mate. He just didn't seem like the type. She let Ralindra finish what she was doing and was finally allowed to stand up and look in the mirror. She was met with something she hadn't expected. Bulma had never been the girlie type, she had always been a fighter. But she had to admit...she looked beautiful. The make up really did wonders for her face. She couldn't help but stare at herself in the mirror. She really was a gorgeous woman...Wearing battle armor and a scowl all the time really didn't do her justice.
She was pulled out of her reverie as Ralindra tugged on her arm. “My Lady, its time.” Bulma nodded and took a step nearly falling on her face. She looked up at Ralindra. “I guess the shoes are going to take some getting used to.” They both giggled as Bulma carefully left the wardrobe.
~Well thats the newest chapter. Hope everyone likes it. And just to clear the air, the reason I haven't been updating the last few years we because when I was 17 my boyfriend proposed.
