Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Their Assignment ❯ Chapter 2
The shrill alarm clock was hurtled across the room where it crashed into the wall with enough force to break it. Bulma found herself sitting up in her own bed breathing heavily. Her face was still flushed from the passionate dream and she felt the wetness between her legs. Glancing down she saw her nipples pushing against the obstructing blue material of her pajamas. Just a dream, but it felt so real. I can remember how everything felt; I can remember everything about it… except for his name. Damn it!
"Bulma, you need to get ready! It's your first day of school and you don't want to be late!" she heard her mother call from downstairs.
"I'll be down after I shower mom!" she called back before her mother responded with, "Ok dear!"
Looking ruefully down at her chest she decided that maybe a cold shower would be best. With that thought in mind she crawled out of bed and picked out the clothes from her outrageously large closet that she wanted to wear to her very first day of school ever.
The bells rang and students scrambled to their desks so that they would be in their seats before the tardy bell rang. The teacher walked in and everyone grew silent.
"Hello class, most of you know me, but for those of you who don't I am Ms. Lenus. I hope you like the desk you're sitting at because it will be yours for the rest of the year. Now I'm going to call roll and I would like you to please raise your hand when I call your name. Bulma Briefs…"A delicate white hand rose over the other students' heads from the back of the class. The teacher made a notation before moving down the list, but the owner of the hand wasn't paying attention anymore.
Silent and pale she sat staring out of the window, imagining she was somewhere far, far away. She watched the clouds, feeling them brush along her skin as she raced through them in her mind. Her lips curled in a tiny smile as a bird swooped down across her vision. Her mind brushed against that of the bird and suddenly she really was flying, dipping through the sky. The school spread out below her and cars trailed along the road in winding lines of exhaust and noise. She was very grateful to be so far away from it all. Suddenly she dropped back to reality with a heavy thud as she felt a hand land on her shoulder and saw another hand waving in front of her face.
"Hey Earth to the new girl!" a dark haired girl spoke teasingly and her chocolate eyes smiled at her.
"Someone was way spaced out there," the voice that made this observation seemed bored and yet had slightly a slightly amused undertone.
"Huh?" Bulma turned around where she could look at both of the girls at the same time. The bored sounding blonde had shoulder length hair and catlike blue eyes. "Oh hello!"
"Hi. I'm Chichi and this is 18. The teacher gave us the period to talk and get to know each other. Of course most of us already know each other, but we're getting to catch up with each other from the summer."
"Hey," the blonde girl was reserved, watching the quiet girl with light blue hair.
"So what classes do you guys have?" Bulma asked them curiously.
"Well art obviously, honors English next, algebra, then bio and history and PE."
"Well aside from your science and math classes we have the same classes. Four periods a day together. Maybe it's a sign," she smiled at her little joke.
"Hey do you believe in fate babe? Cause I think we're destined to go on a date!" the boy sitting at the desk in front of her leaned around to look at her with a big grin. He had short slightly spiked black hair and was actually pretty cute, in spite of the scar on his face. Or maybe it was because of that, Bulma couldn't really decide as her eyes roved over the designer labeled cargo pants he wore and the loose name brand shirt.
"Get out of here. She would never date a player like you. Maybe if you knew how to keep it in your pants then I'd let you try for a date."
"You tell him Chi!" a voice hooted from behind Bulma and to the right.
"That was really pathetic Yamcha, even for your small ass mind," an insulting voice drawled from behind Bulma. She stiffened. That voice, that was it… the voice in my dream. Slowly she turned around and her eyes widened in shock as she looked at the guy in the seat behind her. She quickly thought of cold showers and consciously forced herself not to turn bright red, blessing her mother for teaching her that trick.
A tight black t-shirt that perfectly displayed the sculpted muscles in his chest and stomach. Matching jeans molded to the muscular leg that was resting against the top of the desk. Cold onyx eyes gleamed with unholy amusement at Yamcha's sputtering attempt to redeem himself in the eyes of the girl he was trying to hit on. The guy's black hair stood straight up as if it were possessed. Sensual lips curved in a malicious sneer at the world in general and at the hapless player in particular.
"Back off Vegehead this doesn't concern you or you for that matter Chichi!" the handsome guy with the scars on his face snapped.
"Excuse me but I've decided that I'm going to be friends with her, so that makes it my business!"
"Hey don't go talking to Chichi like that Yamcha. She's just looking out for the new girl until she gets her bearings," the voice that had been gleeful a moment ago now held a note of warning. Bulma turned her head to look at the guy speaking and noticed that his hair stood out at unnatural angles from his head. He had a boyishly cute face with a build that matched the guy in black, although he was wearing a bright red shirt that stretched across his shoulders with blue jeans that encased his long legs. He frowned at Yamcha in disapproval before opening his mouth to add something.
"Yeah so this is Yamcha, he hasn't learned how to keep his pants on seeing as how he cheats on every girl friend he's ever had since the beginning of high school. And since no one else is jumping in with their own introduction, this here is Goku and he's Chichi's boyfriend, which is convenient for him since Chi's going to major in culinary arts and he likes to eat. The scowling guy behind you is Vegeta, Goku's cousin, and he's too good for the rest of us, but he every once in a while gets over himself long enough to actually speak with us, although it's usually to insult one of us. Over there, the little mushroom haired guy talking to the slightly geeky looking guy is my boyfriend Krillin. The geeky looking guy is Arnold and he's a student tutor so if you need any help in any of your subjects you'll talk to him. He's not really a part of our group but he's a good person on campus to know since he keeps track of everything, and he's pretty cool in spite of his geekyness." 18 cut off the argument before it got started with her introductions.
"Guys this is the new student Bulma, so say 'hi' to her," she added.
"Oh sorry, hi Bulma! I'm Goku Son and, well I guess 18 already told you that huh? So where'd you come from?" the slightly goofy smile was back in place and Bulma found herself warming to him.
"I had home school and then my mom decided that she wanted me to experience a graduation ceremony and make some friends my own age so she insisted that I had to go to public school at least a year before going to college."
"Wait a minute, Briefs? You're Dr. Briefs daughter?" Chichi cut in.
"It only took her how long to make that connection?" Bulma heard the mutter from behind her and she risked a quick glance back to see the guy, Vegeta, rolling his eyes in disgust.
"Shut up Vegeta! No one asked you!" Chichi turned her attention back to Bulma to ask, "So what science and math classes do you have?"
"Calculus and Chemistry," Bulma responded after a quick glance at the slip of paper, in spite of the fact that she already had the classes memorized. Oh why are my parents doing this to me?! And if they were going to thrust me into a public school why couldn't they do it freshman year instead of my senior one? It isn't enough I'm having very erotic dreams this thought caused her to blush and she hoped they thought it was because she was embarrassed by her advanced placement, but now I'm also going to have to deal with a completely new situation on top of it!
"Whoa tough classes. Hey you have all of your classes with Goku and Vegeta!" Chichi realized.
"And Yamcha," 18 added noticing the forgotten guy perk up. "Although on the plus side you'll have Krillin with you too. He'll keep any class from getting boring," she smiled slightly; the tiny smile that added to her catlike appearance. Bulma realized that 18 wasn't really bored, that was just the way she talked. Before anyone else could say anything the bell rang dismissing them all to their next class.
She spent the rest of the day learning where her classes were, getting new books, getting to know her new friends, and fending off advances from assorted guys who wanted to try the newest meat in school. In spite of how much she liked her friends, she couldn't help but feel pathetically grateful when the final bell rang, releasing them for the day. After saying goodbye to them she hurried to her parked car.
All day long she had been plagued by the dream she had had last night. Images would pop up in her mind at the worst possible moments, sometimes bringing a blush to her face in spite of the technique she had picked up from her mother. A few times it had been when Yamcha was flirting with her and she hoped he wouldn't think of it as encouragement. That Vegeta guy sure seemed to think so, since she had caught him sneering in her general direction whenever it happened.
The dreams had suddenly started a little over a week ago and meeting a guy that reminded her so sharply of the guy from her dreams made her very uncomfortable. Well that and the fact that no matter what class she went to she was stuck sitting next to him didn't help matters. Oh and then there was that Yamcha guy. He kept hitting on her since he always made it a point to sit right next to her as well. She had a horrible feeling that her entire year was going be like this and she was starting to dread it.
