2- The calm before the storm

Vegeta rolled over under the sheets, and slowly opened his eyes. His gaze was fixed on the delicate figure lying next to him with an around him. He just layed there quietly observing the beautiful blue-haired woman. He watched the rise and fall of her chest; he could hear her breathing. There was a sweet smile on her tender lips. He noticed he could feel her fragile heart calmly beating as he held her closer to him. He whispered so softly to her; "So peaceful you look, lying in here in my arms dreaming." He gently kissed her
forehead and rubbed his eyes again trying to stay awake. She stirred, cuddling closer to Vegeta. Her eyes Fluttered open and she looked up at his face with a bright smile.
" . . . nice sleep?" Vegeta asked sitting up. She nodded her head while yawning. Stretching her arms out she sat up and noticed he was staring at her oddly. He had raised one eyebrow, and his eyes were locked on his mate. A strap on her nightdress had slipped down showing off her bare shoulder, reavealing a bit too much of cleavage. The crooks of his mouth had curved up into a grin.
After realizing what he was staring at, a smirk crossed her now blushing red face. She crawled over and up to him. Her lips met his tenderly, giving him the first kiss of the morning.
After she pulled back, Vegeta got up and stood beside the bed. "I'm going to get dressed, why don't you start breakfast."
A little unsure of what to say, she got up, threw on a skirt she had kicked aside last night, grabbed her shirt and changed right there in front of Vegeta. He didn't really notice; she had done it so many times now. Then an idea came to her; "Vegeta . . . "
He stopped after he had his pants already on and fastened to look at her, "What?" He proceeded to put on his shirt now.
"Trunks is old enough, he can watch his sister. How about we go out this morning. For a big breakfast, and then maybe lunch?"
Vegeta paused while changing into his red tank top. " ...Fine, why not...but no shopping."

"Okay, we'll just go out to eat. I sware. This will be so much fun!"

Vegeta smirked, he really enjoyed their lunch dates, whenever they went out. This was the only time they really had alone without the kids always wanting something, they could really be more affectionate towards each other. Vegeta was dressed in his usual punk attire, with his red tank top, the sleevless black leather jacket over it and his tight black pants. He pulled on his black bike-gloves, boots and then glanced at his mate.
Bulma was wearing a well fitted forest green skirt, and a white button-up blouse. She just brushed her long blue hair and left it down. She didn't need any makeup, she looked perfect the way she was. Vegeta could not move his gaze from her as he stood there admiring her.
Grabbing a pen she turned around to her dresser, found a small paper, and scribbled a quick note onto it. "I'll just leave Trunks a note, if anything goes wrong, he'll probably call Goku or someone. Anyway my parents should be home soon."
Bulma grabbed her purse and, her and Vegeta left the room. "I'll be outside." he said halfway out the front door. "Okay I'm just gonna leave this note for Trunks."
Bulma placed the little note on the kitchen table for him to see and walked out. She got into her car and started it up. Turning to Vegeta she asked, "So, where would you like to go? Anyplace special?"
He replied calmly, "Not really actually, anywhere is fine." Bulma's smile brightened, "There's a good resteraunt not too far from here. It just opened a few days ago, I hear their food is absolutely wonderful. How 'bout it?"
Vegeta nodded his head, his focus was on the scenery that flew by. His tail rested by his left leg, tapping against the seat. Bulma pulled up to a stop light and took a quick glimpse at Vegeta. He had this distant look in his usually emotionless obsidian eyes. He seemed quite pensive in thought. She then noticed his tail tapping nervously against the seat. Yup, he was thinking alright. Something was on his mind and she was going to find out.
As the light changed, Bulma sped up. Casually she brought up the subject; "Vegeta . . . " He turned his head to look at her, she had that same concerned look on her face. /uh-oh was she onto him?/ "What? Onna, don't even bother asking me. You know what my answer always is."
She sulked; "Vegeta, I just want to know what you're thinking about so hard." He cringed; he wanted to tell her. He wanted to tell her how he was worried about something and was sensing something coming their way and it didn't seem too good. But he couldn't, for some reason he just didn't want to get her all concerned over what could turn up as nothing.
So he did what he usually did; blow her off. "Hmph. Nothing of importance is all, now pay attention to the road." She rolled her eyes at the stubborn saiyan, and focused back on the road just as the resteraunt came in to view. She pulled in and they exited the car. As Vegeta stepped out, all eyes were on him. A group of teenage girls were giggling and pointing at the furry brown length swaying back and forth behind him.
Bulma nugged Vegeta in the arm, "Vegeta! Your tail!" He took one glance at the girls, and it seemed as though he was beginning to blush, as he quickly wrapped his tail securely around his waist.
His mate giggled like the girls as she cooed softly in his sharp saiyan ears; "Vegeta . . . you're blushing ... " He denied it completely and hurried inside. She followed after and they sat down to a small table towards the front of the resteraunt and waited to be served.
