Six: The fight for Equality
Bulma and ChiChi still sat at the table chatting away; and the teens were gathered in the living room, all taking turns at trying out Goten's new game.
All the while, Vegeta was at home training in the gravity room. He threw a series of quick punches to an unseen opponent and topped it off with a high roundhouse kick. He had only been in there for a couple hours and decided it was enough for the day. Besides if it got any later, Bulma might fall asleep before they could have some "fun" tonight. A small grin crossed his face, that thought encouraged him to go out and bring her back home straight into the bedroom for the remainder of the night.
He finished up, grabbed his towel, shut down the grvaity machine and walked out to his bedroom to shower off before setting out to retrieve his mate. His shower too about a good five minutes; he liked them short. He dressed in his punk attire from earlier and left, flying off towards Goku's house.
As he was just about there, something caught his attention. Goku and Veruco were sparring in the usual place by the rocks. Not really undertanding why, Vegeta suppressed his ki to the point where it could not be sensed, at least not very well, and descended to the ground close by quietly observing them.
He paid close attention to Veruco's fighting style, recognizing most of his movements from his father's teachings and from frieza's men. "Hmm...so he has some skill after all." He paused, the usual smirk crossed his face. "Wait until I show him what it's like to fight a real warrior." He watched eagerly for about ten more minutes until...
&n bsp; *crash*
; An enormous explosion of ki in the rocks occurred, not to far from where Vegeta stood, leaving behind a rather large crater sending and rock debris flying in all directions. The three saiyans instantly whirled around to find what had caused it. The smoke had cleared and a tall figure emrged. He wore a cunning grin on his sharply defined features. His hair was a dark slate color and messily fell all around his his face in spikes, and lastly his eyes were a cold grayish blue color.
Vegeta regained his stance and glared at the relatively tal stranger. With a grin of his own he asserted himself. "And just who are you?"
The stranger remained silent and made no effort of any sort to respond to the impatient prince's question.
Vegeta growled impatiently and grabbed the shoulder straps of his armor pulling him close to hm. "Fool! Answer my question!"
The stone faced warrior simply laughed in his face, ignoring his threatening remarks completely. "Hmph, ignorant saiyan. I never expected to see you again . . . Prince Vegeta . . . what a surprise. I should have figured you'd be the first person your weakling brother would run to. This just made my job much more fun."
& nbsp; Vegeta's rage was building with each and every word that came out of his mouth, he was only ensuring his demise with this nonsense. "Baka! You say you know me but yet you dare to insult me__"
His musings were cut short by the tall stranger. "Forget it, your a waste of my time, I've got other plans and I dont need a cocky little saiyan to stand in my way. Now spare me your empty threats and and tell me where I can find Veruco!"
For a moment Vegeta considered pointing him out to the other warrior, figuring he wasn't worth the trouble. Why should he care what happens between them, it obviously didn't concern him.
Unfortunately before he could reply someone else did. "Reiko!" Veruco recognized the man and began to question his presence. "Reiko, how did you get here, and what do you want want from me"
The taller man, known now as Reiko, simply pushed Vegeta aside and confronted Veruco. "Ha Ha Ha. Clueless as ever I see. I followed you here, and I must say i'm not surprised to know you actually believed you would find your brother."
Even though the argument was between those two, Vegeta was still getting irritated with him. He was in the right mind to do away with their intruder right then and there, regardless of what his business with Veruco was. He growled, his last bit of patience fading with every next word. He stepped up to the taller man glaring daggers at him. "The biggest mistake of your life! You dare shove me aside like that__"
Again was he interrupted by his brother still wanting to know of Reiko's reason for being there. "Cool it Vegeta, this is my problem so stay out of it!"
The older saiyan was speechless, taken by surprise with Veruco's sudden display of guts. He wanted to bash him for hanging around Goku too much, for speaking to him like that and to put him in his place, but he didn't. For once he put his pride aside and let reasonable thinking guide his actions this time as he merely stood back and watched as his brother attempted to handle the situation.
Veruco again questioned his presence among them. "Reiko, I asked you what you're business here was, now tell me!"
The towering warrior broke into a low fit of laughter as he took hold Veruco by the shoulders if his amror now. "Now there's no reason to get impatient, why do I need a reason to come and see you. My unwavering loyalty should be prove more than good enough."
Hastily, Verco wrenched free of the other warrior's grasp shaking his hands away. "Don't put your hands on me, or dare mock me like you do!" He snapped as Reiko held up his hands in mock surrender. The younger saiyan did not bother to think before these next few words escaped. "FIGHT ME!"
This not only surprised Reiko, but Goku and Vegeta as well. Reiko looked at him as though he were clinically insane. "What?!"
Goku wasn't so quick to judge his actions but he wasn't sure that was the best thing to say. Vegeta as well glanced at him as though he had lost his mind. He was being perfectly corageous before and for a moment Vegeta had almost been proud to call him his brother but now...now he had lost all rational thinking. This was something he would have done a long time ago but he learned that he was only being over confident and too much confidence...could get you killed.
Veruco slipped into something of a defensive stance and again challenged Reiko. "You heard me! I said fight me, let's settle this right here!"
Reiko's expression changed, becoming more serious now knowing Veruco meant what he said. Yet even though he was serious, he was completely foolish for challenging him. That just proved how reckless he was.
Before Vegeta, nor Goku spoke a single other word, even uttering a new sentence, Veruco was off at Reiko, like a richcoeting pinball that struck at all sides. At Reiko's shoulder, his leg, his chest numerous times with the force of the nine gales. It went back and forth as Vegeta and Goku watched in a satiated glaze of eyes, in awe of the war at hand. Suddenly, Reiko's hand fired a blast of ki, a deathly orb at Vegeta's brother, but the sayian was none in the mood for an attack of that style, or for that matter, being outdone. & nbsp; &nb sp; Suddenly, Veruco started swinging his arms, creating ki within the confines of his fingers, heaving blast after blast, after dreaded blast of damnation over the towering warrior. With each giving it their all, the war seemed equal...but suddenly...Reiko never knew what hit him...the sayian before him, got angrier...and angrier... Before Reiko knew it... his arm was suddenly missing...thanks to a favorite attack of Veruco's of course. The sayian stood and laughed. "Scared...?" Veruco mocked...as his hand raised and a final ki blast was ready to rip apart Reiko...right to the head. ******
