Last chance at Peace

A years time has come and gone so quickly, and things remained slightly tense for a while but not so much that Rai-en wasn't willing to make herself more then right at home. She hasn't forgotten the woman who had so cruely taken her father's life, leaving her with almost no one but she wasn't letting it rule her life; simply using it as an excuse to train hard, and make her father proud as he would have been.
She bounded down the stairs excitedly and rushed into the kitchen, the scent of dinner drawing her in. Although as hungry as she was she didn't have the time to eat. She had made plans to spend a week out on a sort of training mission she guessed; yet it involved more than simply training her body and skills...but her mind and her wits as well. It was all part of her goal to make not only her father proud but to have some fun, and the chance to have a better life than what she was mixed up in back home.
Her smile seemed to lighten the mood upon making her entrance, Bulma had been a bit disapointed in her leaving for a whole week but seeing her so excited to go was nice. "Ready? That was fast...someone's eager to leave."
Rai-en snatched a dinner roll and few other small things, scarfing them down quickly before responding. "Are you kidding me I love it here...but you know i have to do this...it's only a week! I just hope I don't come home to find something has managed to wipe out the entire lot of you with one blow and i'm your only hope!" Trunks, Bra and Bulma laughed...then the laughter died down to low chuckles before Rai-en knew what was going on.
A deep gruff voice behind her, along with a strong hand coming to rest on her shoulder made her stiffen. "And what makes you think that could ever happen?"
She spun on her heels to face him now, a small smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth. "You never know...some new threat could easily wipe you all or the most of you out by the time I get home, or you could have fought ten battles and I wouldn't be the wiser."
He only grinned and rolled her eyes at her, before taking a seat to the table. "You'd best be on your way kid...the sooner you leave the sooner you get back and we'll see just how much good this little fiel-trip has done." With a grin and a nod she said her goodbyes and was well on her way.

Little did any one of them know what their next challege would be; after the first week everything seemed quiet...like how it gets right before a storm hits and wreaks complete chaos amongst the lands and leaves nothing but a path of destruction in it's wake. They would soon come to realize that the tragedy was only begginning.
