Author's Notes: I have just finished reading `The Red Dragon' and I must say that it was an awesome book…although it confused me part of the time. Anyway, after reading this book, I got inspiration to write a series of horror stories...wanna know the secret to the horror? They aren't B/V fics…well…not all of them. At least two out of the three I'm starting will be B/V oriented fictions and I'm planning on making each one remarkably different in certain aspects. So, on with the fic and hopefully I'll get some good reviews that will give me great hints on how to kill people…I mean on how to create vivid murder scenes.

Virginia Beach, VA
1:30 a.m.
Crickets chirped loudly and incessantly, filling the balmy summer night with their overly cheerful song. A door creaked open bringing their song to a pause as their beady black eyes followed the bloodstained giant tramping quietly through dew-laden grass. A loud metallic clang and rattling signaled the giant's exit from their domain. Staying silent for another minute, they continued staring upwards until one timid voice rang out, signaling that all was clear. Now assured that the danger had passed, they began their nighttime serenade anew.
Further down the road a dog barked then began howling, the smell of death strong in its nose. One by one, the other dogs in the neighborhood began howling until the entire neighborhood rang with the eerie sound.
