Chapter Four: Parenting

An hour later Goku dropped Videl off at her backdoor. She looked slightly nervous, gnawing on her lower lip as she stared at the door in front of her.

"Goku...what if this doesn't work, what if he just-"

Goku laughed. "Don't worry, Videl. He would have to be made out of ice in order for this not to work. And we both know that's the last thing Gohan is, especially you. Now, go inside, get Pan, and tell her she's spending the night at my place. Then you guys have the house all to yourselves."

She nodded slowly, a small smile appearing on her face. "Alright, Goku. I'll send her right over."

He nodded, telling her he would wait for his granddaughter as Videl entered her home. All the lights were off except the living room and more than likely the room both her and Gohan shared.

She found her daughter sitting in front of the TV watching some action movie. "Honey," she said, "is it alright if you stay the night at your grandma and grandpa's? Your grandpa would really love to have you. He feels a little lonely."

Pan nearly jumped through the roof. "Alright!! I'll go right now, ok, mom? Thanks!!"

Videl chuckled at her daughter and how much she loved Goku. It was hard not to love him anyhow, no matter who you were.

Pan was soon bouncing out the door and into her grandpa's awaiting arms. Goku laughed as she threw herself at him, and he pretended she almost knocked him over as he winked at Videl and she closed the door. She heard their laughter disappear as they walked away, and she slumped against the door, sighing as she looked down the hall. The house was silent, and the TV was now off. They were alone, and Gohan didn't even know it. She smirked.

She made her way down the hall and to their room, opening the wooden door slowly. She didn't know what she was expecting, so she didn't know why she was surprised to see him at the computer. She wondered if he had ever kissed the stupid thing he was around it so much.

She tried not to look obvious as Gohan turned around in his chair, watching her a few moments before he asked, "Where were you?"

Her eyebrow went up a good inch, shocked that he had even asked that much. She was going to ask in a snide tone, "Why do you care?" but stopped herself before she did.

She looked at him through her long and thick eyelashes with what she hoped was a look that was a little more "nicer" than usual. "I was just getting some Popsicle's to suck on. I've had a craving for them lately."

She noticed the change in his expression immediately. A muscle in his jaw jumped, and he quickly looked at anything but her. "Oh, well, ok. I'm gonna uh, get back to work."

She stuck her tongue out at the back of his head. Uh, I'm gonna show you, Gohan! You're gonna wish you NEVER said that....

She put a happy-go-lucky smile on her face and started stripping off her clothes as she walked to the bathroom that adjoined to their room. She could feel his eyes on her as she disappeared into the bathroom and flicked on the light, mischievously throwing her dark blue button-up shirt out the open door. She left the door open on purpose as she finished disrobing, wondering what Gohan was doing right now. He had to be thinking of at least something besides the work on the computer.

She turned on the water in the shower to nearly scalding, moaning loudly with pleasure as the hot water hit her skin. She wished she could see the look on his face now, since Gohan always seemed to have some sort of reaction when she moaned. Well, that had been when he had wanted her all the time...maybe it was different now.

She took her time, sighing or saying, "This feels so good," every once and a while. She washed her long hair and used her favorite scented soap that she hadn't used in a long time. She was actually starting to feel sexy again, starting to feel like someone would actually want her. It felt nice gaining some confidence again.

She hurried with the rest of her shower and turned off the water, trying not to laugh or smirk as she said, "Mmm...that felt so good, Gohan. You should try it some time."

She could have sworn she heard a chuckle. It was then that she did smirk, for it was excessively hard to hide it now. She quickly checked herself over in the foggy mirror before she grabbed the one lone raggedy towel that had seen better days probably ten years ago. She nearly giggled with excitement. This just had to work. If it didn't...she didn't know what she would do.

She stepped outside of the bathroom wearing absolutely nothing, and dangling the pathetic white towel from the tips of her fingers. "Gohan, can you get me another towel? This one won't last very long."

She could have sworn that she had never seen his eyes get so big. His hands gripped onto the arm rests until the plastic started to give, and she felt herself heat up from just the look he was giving her. She watched his eyes travel up the whole length of her body, until they reluctantly settled onto her face. She forced an innocent expression to stay put on her face as Gohan quickly nodded, nearly scrambling out of the room the get her a better towel. He came back faster than she had even hoped, and she noticed the way he stopped extremely close to her. All she would have to do is lean forward and she would be pressed against him. So that's exactly what she did.

She could tell that any thought of resistance had flown out the window long before she even tried to kiss him. Oh, and the way he kissed her...soft, nervous at first, but then quickly demanding and hard as the towels in their hands dropped to the floor. She dived her fingers into his hair and arched her body into his, immediately feeling how aroused he was. She half moaned, half whimpered into his mouth, rubbing herself against him to try to give him the message. He nearly started ripping off his clothes, and in no time at all she felt the backs of her legs hit the mattress. His hands gave up on the frenzied removal of his clothes to touch her, and she felt her head fall back as his hands found her breasts. His lips trailed stinging kisses down the arch of her neck and to her collarbone, and she gasped when she felt him take her hard nipple into his hot mouth. She squeezed her eyes shut, clutching at his head as she murmured, "Oh Gohan...I want you so bad...."

They fell onto the bed, Gohan crawling over top of her and fighting with his pants to get them off. Videl shoved his hands away and did it for him instead, noticing the way his hands were shaking. If she didn't know any better...she would say he needed this just as much as she did.

He had just started kissing her again when there was a knock on the door. They both stiffened, wondering who could be outside their door and how much they had heard. It was late at night...the only person it could be was-

"Mom? I forgot my pajamas and I couldn't find any. Do you know if I have any clean one's in the laundry?"

Pan. Videl wanted to...she mentally shook herself, hearing Gohan breathing hard above her. She didn't really know what to do...her daughter had just totally killed the mood.

She sighed as Gohan moved off her, letting her get up and wrap the towel he had brought back around her. Her hair still needed to dry, but she could have cared less now.

She opened her door, seeing her daughter standing there...next to Goku. She got a fierce expression on her face when she saw him, and he gave her a look that said, "Sorry, I couldn't stop her."

She nearly groaned and started banging her head against the wall. They had been this close....

"Come on, honey. I bet there's a clean set in the laundry room," Videl said, happy that her daughter and her reluctant grandfather didn't ask any questions about her apparel. She went to the laundry room and grabbed her daughter the nearest pair of pajama's she saw. Pan thanked her and said a real quick sorry before Goku told her he would be right with her, sending her on her way. Videl kept sighing loudly, wanting to cry and hurt and kill something at the same time.

"So?" Goku asked, a big smile on his face at Videl's choice of clothing. It was obvious she had at least tried the plan.

"I was so close, Goku! You couldn't have waited at least twenty more minutes?!"

Goku shook his head. "I'm sorry, Videl. I tried to stop her, I really did, but she insisted on having her pj's to sleep in. I told her not to worry about it, that she could even sleep in one of my shirts, but nooo, she just had to have her pj's. I'm sorry, Videl. I really am."

She nodded sadly. "Yeah...so am I. I wonder if something like that will ever happen again....I mean, he was nearly going insane. Uhh...I can't believe my DAUGHTER did me in. This isn't FAIR."

Goku shook his head. He really did feel bad. "Hey, maybe you and Bulma can come up with another plan, Videl. She always has good plans, and I bet you've realized this by now."

Videl nodded. "Ok, well, you better get back. It's getting late, and both Gohan and me have to work tomorrow. I hope you don't mind watching Pan until we get home."

Goku smiled. "It's like this every year Pan goes back to school, Videl. Chi and me are used to it by now. Don't worry about us watching her, it's the least we can do. And we both love her to death, so it's not as if we hate it or something. Now...I'm gonna go, maybe you and Gohan...??"

"I doubt it. I'm totally not in the mood now. He probably fell asleep," she said jokingly, shoving Goku out of her laundry room. "I'll talk to you later, ok?" she said, watching as he nodded and hurriedly left the house.

She made her way back to her room reluctantly, wondering what was going to happen and how embarrassed she was going to be. She prayed he was asleep or even that he was back on the computer, but she got quite the shock when she heard the shower on. She almost laughed aloud, wondering if it was a cold shower. She hoped it was.

She climbed into bed after grabbing his discarded shirt, pulling it on and buttoning it up. She heard him mutter something unintelligible from the bathroom as he got out, turning off the water. She wondered briefly why he decided to use that bathroom, since he never really did. He used the one that was next to Pan's room, the one that they all shared. The one connected to their room was supposed to be only theirs, but he didn't have much of a tendency to use it like he used to.

She closed her eyes and pretended she was asleep as he walked back into the room a few minutes later. She could almost see him hesitate before he climbed into the bed next to her, lying stiffly on his back. She was wondering if he was sick since he wasn't facing away from her, and she wondered if she had actually done something to make him change. She smirked as she drifted off, hoping with everything she had that she had gotten under his skin.
