Chapter #2: Back Again

That was ten years ago, and so far it appeared as if Gohans Mirai tenshi would never come back to him. There hadn't been one single sign of his return since that day, and he remained completely miserable without him. He felt that Trunks had run away because he pushed him too quickly to get over his long dead Koi, and he blamed himself for his absence.

He'd given up on the idea that he would return to him, but he still loved the lavender haired prince from the future. He never stopped loving him. Why was it that his prince insisted that they were not meant to be together, yet his love for him never diminished but only intensified? Something was definitely wrong with that, but there was nothing he could do about it. It was pure torture.

After two or three years of bad dates and nagging from his mother, Gohan married Videl. He was so ashamed when he said "I do" at the alter with her, he was only marrying her to try and make himself forget about his beautiful Mirai, and to get his mother off of his back.

When he closed his eyes and kissed her as his wife for the first time, he pictured that it was his prince who was kissing him back, but when he opened his eyes up again and saw Videl smiling broadly at him his heart fell and shattered into a million pieces when it hit the ground.

He avoided sleeping with her as often as he could, but they *were* married. It had to happen once in a while, and a few years after their wedding, Videl got pregnant. Gohan wanted to kill himself the day she told him about it. He didn't want to have children with her, he wanted to be with his Mirai! The only thing that stopped him was the awful thought of leaving his baby without a father, and he just couldn't do it.

When Pan was born though, it was as if his heart flipped, and he loved her from the very start. This was his daughter and he was now a father! She was the most beautiful baby he'd ever seen, and he couldn't have been more proud of her if someone had paid him to be.

After her birth however, Videl had changed. Gohan didn't love her or pay any closer attention to her then before she got pregnant, and she was really starting to resent him for it. She knew perfectly well that he didn't really love her. At the most he just thought of her as a friend, but she didn't care about that when she married him. She had assumed that if she could just get him married and in her bed then to love her would be inevitable, but she was wrong.

When she found out that she was pregnant her first thought was: `Oh my God! This is so perfect! He's got to love me now, I'm gonna be the mother of his child!' She was mistaken. Now it was worse then before, Gohan was paying more attention to the baby and she got to spend even less time with him then before!

She took up drinking because of this out of depression, and no matter what anybody did they couldn't make her stop. When Gohan started to pay closer attention to her because of it, she would just drink more. He was only trying to convince her to stop, but she like the attention she was getting, and even made him feel guilty enough to come to bed with her on a few occasions, but she still never quite, and soon she became a full blown alcoholic. Unfortunately she was a mean drunk!

He once came home to find his drunken wife screaming bloody murder at their daughter just for spilling a cup of juice on the floor in the kitchen. Panny-chan was in tears and he just had to run her out of there. He took her to see her grandpa-Goku so he could go and try to calm her down. She just wouldn't stop screaming until he threatened her with a divorce, and then she just started to bawl her eyes out about how much he didn't love her. At least she stopped screaming.

Right now they were driving on down to Capsule Corp for a special get-together that Bulma had set up, but she wouldn't say what the occasion was. Gohan and Videl never divorced despite the raging need and want to. Another one of Chi-Chi's rants to try and make it work for the sake of their daughter. Gohan would just like nothing better than to just take Pan away from her.

Pan had just had her fourth birthday and was very excited to Go over to Capsule Corp and play with Bra, Videl didn't really care and Gohan just wanted to see what this was all about. Plus it would be nice to see everyone again without the world being in some kind of danger.

Soon they pulled into the vast driveway and before Gohan could even turn off the car, Videl climbed out and started to quickly walk up the driveway without them. He just sighed in annoyance as he too got out and went to get Pan from out of the car seat she was in, in the back.

She just smiled up at him sweetly as he undid her seat belt, and all he could think about was how much he loved his little girl. She always behaved so well despite Videl's constant temper, but somewhere along they she had just learned to ignore it. `My baby girl, four years old going on twenty.' He thought to himself in amusement with the reminder of his daughter's high maturity level. She was very intelligent too. Only four years old yet she could speak, read, and write as if she were eight.

Pan smiled brightly knowing that her father would be picking her up soon to go inside. She really liked being carried around. Gohan couldn't help but smile back at her as he did indeed pick her up, and head down the driveway to the Capsule Corp entrance.

"What are we here for, daddy?" Pan asked him innocently while he wrung the doorbell. Videl must've rudely let herself in to try and get a head start on the drinks, but he wasn't worried since Bulma had assured him over the phone that all drinks would be non-alcoholic.

"I'm not too sure sweety," He replied while still waiting. "a get-together for the adults I suppose." He said while adjusting her in his arms.

Pan made a slight pouting face. "That's not fun!" She said angrily.

Gohan just smiled down at her in amusement. "Don't forget you have Bra over here to play with." He said calmly while watching her face brighten up almost instantly. "Oh ya!" She said happily. "Let's go then!" She said impatiently while ringing the door bell again.

It was Trunks who finally answered. "Hey there, Gohan!" He said happily at the sight of him while stepping aside to let him in. "Videl's already inside and waiting for you." He said while Gohan walked in and took off his shoes at the door politely. "Hey there Trunks, and don't worry I know she's here." He replied a little sadly. Sometimes it really killed him on the inside when he looked at the teen who looked so much like his long gone love, but he always managed to swallow the lump in his throat and look a little happy for the sake of not worrying anyone.

"Do you know what this gathering is all about?" He asked the purple haired teen as they walked down the long hallway and towards the living room. It really did bother him when he looked at Chibi-Trunks and saw his Mirai's face, but when he looked closer some differences could be seen. Chibi's hair was a slightly darker shade of purple, he was a more laid back type of person, and his eyes didn't contain the sadness that his older counterpart always carried around. For this he was grateful, otherwise just being near Capsule Corp would become unbearable.

"Well... I do, but I'm not aloud to say just yet." He replied with a slightly guilty tone in his voice.

"Huh? Why not?" Gohan asked in confusion for the strange answer.

Trunks just looked at him and smiled brightly. "Don't worry, you'll see what I mean soon enough." Was all that he said with an excited tone in his voice.

Gohan looked at him in confusion again, and was about to ask another question until he was interrupted. "Where's Bra, Trunks?" Pan asked while still in her father's arms.

He looked over at the sweet little girl who, in his opinion, resembled her wicked mother *way* too much! "She's upstairs getting her tea set ready for you." He said to her with a smile on his face.

She smiled brightly upon hearing that and then wiggled out of her fathers hold and landed on her feet with a lot grace for only a four year old. "Can I go tousan?" She asked in her small voice that he thought was just adorable. "Sure you can, Panny-chan." He said happily. "And if you're good I'll see if you can stay the night too." He finished with a smile.

Her face just lit right up when she heard that. "Thanks tousan!" She cried out while running down the hall and for the stairs. He just shook his head in amusement while he and Trunks made their way to the large living room.

"Are you sure you can't tell me what this is about, Trunks?" He asked again, more curious now than ever to find out what was going on.

Trunks looked back at him thoughtfully, obviously contemplating whether or not he should spill the secret. "Let's just say that a new guest has arrived." He said with a smirk, knowing how much the vague answer would irk at Gohans system.

Oh, and it irked him alright! "A new guest? Who?" He asked while continually getting more curious. Why would Bulma call everyone up for a get-together over a simple guest?

"Well.....he's been here for about a week now." Trunks answered while still trying not to actually tell him who was here.

Gohan frowned. "That doesn't answer my question, Trunks." He said in a warning tone. The lavender haired prince caught on to it immediately and a nervous look suddenly graced his features. "Well....um...I already told you I'm not aloud to say who it is." He said nervously. His little game had backfired on him and now he found himself in trouble with the older demi. Not the most pleasing situation to be in.

Gohan just growled lightly but didn't say anything as they just continued their walk down the *extremely* long hallway, passing offices and rooms as they went. `If this place was any bigger they'd need cars just to get around!' Gohan thought to himself sarcastically.

Soon they found themselves in the livingroom that was more like a ball room with it's gigantic size, and over by the drink table was Videl. She was scowling something fierce with a fruit punch in her hand while she leaned up against the table and watching everyone in the room. Gohan didn't really care though. He knew that the only reason why she appeared to be so angered was because she realised that there was no alcohol in the drinks, so it's not like it mattered.

He looked around the room of chattering people and was surprised to see all the people here. Only people that they all knew to be apart of the group, but for some reason Bulma had tracked down *all* of them! Including Dende, Piccolo, and Yamcha, and they weren't the easiest people to get in touch with.

"This new guest of yours must be pretty important." He said to Trunks who was still at his side, not putting together the fact that since Bulma had invited only people who were a part of the group and therefore this must be someone he knew.

"Well, he's more like a...permanent guest really." He replied with another smile.

Just as Gohan was about to ask what he meant by that, his breath got caught in his throat as he saw a most beautiful sight that he thought he would never see again.

Mirai Trunks walked into the room, his long hair tide back, and the first thing that happened was the locking of their eyes as they saw each other for the first time in years. Mirai held his breath in the shock of seeing his love as a fully grown and utterly *gorgeous* man, and Gohan held it because he thought that he would never see his handsome prince ever again, and yet here he was!

`He came back! Oh my God, he came back!' He thought joyfully as a few tears threatened to spill over his eyes at the sight. The same went for Mirai at the sight of the one person he wanted most but could never have. They both wanted to run over to each other and just start furiously kissing until there was no air in the entire world left to breath, but they both held back that urge well as they slowly started to walk towards each other.

The second Videl saw the pretty boy from the future she wanted to puke. `I thought he left for good!' He thought angrily while noting the look of love mixed in with longing in her husband's eye that was directed not at her like it should be, but at the bishounen who was walking towards him with stars in his eyes.

Her eyes narrowed dangerously at the now fully grown man who appeared to be in his mid twenties. `I'll just have to make sure that he stays away from *my* husband!' She thought determinedly. It wouldn't be too hard. Just show the idiot her wedding ring and a few pictures of Pan and he'd be running again, no mistake about that.

`I'll send you back to that stupid hell pit you crawled out of, and this time you'll wish you stayed there!' She thought nastily while still eyeing the lavender haired prince from the future like the plague.
