Chapter 6
Dark Manifestation
Something was emerging inside Anita, something enraged. She did not even sleep for a second that faithful night. Some unknown power was writhing, clawing, and thrashing about in her body. Her eyes remained fully dilated and he muscles remained tense. Her wrists pressed against her shackles. Her fingers felt a fiery throb and her skin felt like ripping end from end. Her jaw was pulsating with agony. Her body forced herself to wrap her arms against her shoulders and curl up her legs. She was like a blood-spattered, shivering cocoon and the creature inside her was not a delicate butterfly. What seemed like an eon finally arrived when Kokujo stirred. He raised an unconcerned eyebrow at her plight.
“Time to wallow in your own Hell!” he hissed spitefully. The familiar knock echoed. Anita commanded her disobedient legs to stand. Her fists remained uncontrollably clenched. Vampire Silphy stood outside in its usual military manner when the door opened. Kokujo clasped both her upper arms with his muscular hands. “I'll be eager for your next `presentation'.” Then he shoved Anita forward. He slammed the heavy iron doors behind her causing a small draft to blow through her matted hair. The Vampire was too intimidated to grasp her hand. Silphy felt a raging, spiteful, and wrathful aura. It was all consuming. Silphy felt not just frightened, he felt utterly terrified, yet the creature buried it all in its subconscious. As they walked toward her cell, the vampire tried to note any physical changes. She walked automatically and robot-like, her footsteps followed the same rhythm in the most eerie of ways. She breathed with the same patterns and even blinked at the same pace, never changing. When the lord opened the prison door, he got a single look at her eyes. They were narrow cat-like slits and had turned the color of the full moon. When the Dark Lord locked the door, his tendrils went through a terrified spasm.
“Dear Ballom! What have we unleashed?”
Anita fell to her knees and immediately felt a surge of nature mana rush through her body and flow through her veins. It was a hot rush and she felt glued to the floor. Her body experienced a sensation of stretching, pulling, and expanding. She tried to gasp, but then everything went cold and still. She was caught mid-breath, and she could not feel any of her limbs or her face. The moment when her body stood absolutely still...it did not last for long.
“The...mana...” she rasped. All she could do now was shriek as her body underwent a metamorphosis. Her muscles bulged to maximum capacity and beyond. Her breaths were deep and low. She grew claws and canine teeth like a beast. Vines entwined themselves around her form. They were now her armor. Anita's green eyes morphed into slits and then dilated. She had become a beast folk. Her keen ears heard the clattering of a creature approaching her containment cell. She absorbed all the mana she needed in a single breath. Suddenly Vampire Silphy burst through the door.
“Anita? What happened?” She slouched and did not answer. The vampire moved closer to her. He noticed that her hand was twitching and then glowed green. It backed away. She let out a growl.
“I summon Barkwhip the Smasher's power!” Vampire Silphy took just one terrified step back then released a blood-freezing cry. Anita had struck him with the barbed whip of the beast folk. Barkwhip's weapon tore through the creature's chest and it clasped its chest.
“P-P-Please don't hu-hurt m-master,” it wheezed. It fell backward and its tentacles twitched grotesquely then stiffened like spider legs. The beast angel charged forth toward Kokujo's chambers. She sprinted like a bear in pursuit. Not much longer after that, she encountered the thick chamber door. She backed away several feet and turned her shoulder to the entrance. She collided with the door, which gave way in a storm of wooden splinters and heavy iron. Her eyes narrowed upon her target, and he was waiting. He reached for his blade underneath his bed. She bared her claws and darted toward him.
“Guard me, Zagaan!” he commanded. The four-legged skeleton monster careening out of the debris of the fallen door, its broadsword in its bony clutches. Anita pivoted on the spot and launched herself on the Demon Command.
“Death Blade Beetle!” Her arms turned into a dark blue exoskeleton. She leaped with superhuman prowess and began to crush the creature's skull. Kokujo just scoffed.
“It seems you forgot your math, Death Blade Beetle and Zagaan Knight of Darkness have identical strength. You'll slaughter each other.” She snarled and her body was empowered by a green aura.
“Aura Blast!” Her form flashed a brilliant green and she wrenched the skull from the skeleton. Kokujo gripped his blade and set himself in a battle position.
“I will not stand by any longer!” He sprinted toward her and brought his arm back in a slash. Her instincts made him appear to be in slow motions and she bounded over his head. He didn't even have enough time to speak when she brought down her feet on the back of his dead. His weapon went clattering to the floor.
“Now it is time for you to relive your sins! Natural Snare!” The vines exploded from the harsh rocks, given life by the mana. The clenched him tightly and unrelenting. He was soon rising higher and higher from the floor. He was soon just a few feet above her head. “You bound me!” The arms of nature squeezed him tighter and his finger changed colors from lack of blood. “You attempted to suffocate me!” More crawled to his neck and curled themselves around his neck. His howls of pain just barely made through the vines. They soon relaxed but still covered his mouth. “You beat me!” The vines crawled away from his back and rose up in anger. They began to slam against his naked back. His hissed loudly and held in his screams well. Then a salty fluid leaked from the vines' ends and dripped down slowly. His cries emanated the whole castle, and the vines continued to bludgeon him. Anita was still not happy until he lived her most recent and most terrible sin. “And you sodomized me!” Kyoshiro began to make soft whimpering noises and through the vines he could be heard begging for no more. A single vine crawled up his thigh torturously slowly. His skin prickled as it slithered higher to his inner thigh. Then it committed its unholy penetration. It squirmed inside him and his wails grew high-pitched. Blood trickled in waves, and the vine writhed in him with more ferocity.
“No more! Stop this agony! Please!” His voice quavered in his pleads. Anita just shrugged his cries away.
“Now become one with the Earth,” she spoke callously. The vines drew him to the ground where he be transformed into pure mana. She stood still for a moment, her mana flow broke for a moment and she felt that single orb of light travel through her. “Stop!” she said slowly. The vines stalled from their descent and slowly uncurled themselves from his body and receded into the ground once again. Kokujo fell to his knees, making rasping noises. Anita began to walk away, hoping he was too stunned or injured to pursue her. He heaved his bleeding body from his knees and gripped her shoulder. He jerked her hard to the bed with his body on top of here.
“Anita…Anita…I…” his voice trailed away. His eyes closed and he collapsed on her. He was still breathing, but in severe pain. She was left lost for words. This was the perfect time to escape, Kokujo was incapacitated. Her body returned to normal and her mind was clear. She was wrong about Kokujo. He had weakness, he did feel pain, and he had his vulnerability.
“You are only human,” she spoke in his ear softly. Sleep overcame her almost immediately.
