Chapter 2: “Enemy Reproach; New name Nehight”

 

 

Azure gently lifts Night into his arms and she slightly goes limp. She lets her head fall on his shoulders and she looks up at Azure with a darkened face. She reaches a hand to touch his jaw line but is quickly stopped, as Azure places her on her soft bed padding on the floor. As Night pulls Azure closer to her Azure lets out a whimper of sadness. `I shouldn't do this. I can't do it.'

Night begins to pull her armor off of her shoulder and lets out a heavy sigh. She lays down on the padding and breaths heavily resting her hand on her bare chest. Azure quickly removes the heavyset part of his armor and moves into Night taking her in a passionate kiss. Tears from both their eyes fall in unison. Within a short time laps, Azure had taken Night in a small swift movement.

Night stares back at Azure hard. “Azure…”

Azure looks back at her. Whimpers and sighs flow from this small house.

“Sleep now, my sweet angel.” Azure moves hair from Nights face. He slowly stands and heads out into the snow. “She should be awakening soon. Might as well go grind.” Azure speeds off into the distance. She runs past lower ranks from Night and himself and overhears something that surprises him.

“They are seriously here?”

“Yeah they don't give up do they? But it's amazing how they managed to con that one to kill all of the guardians. He must be a pushover. So when do you think they will be in Manpok Falls*?”

“Who knows? For all we know, they could be finishing off the guardians in Nangun peak*.”

Azure runs over to the Amaijang valley* fighters. “What is this I hear? Are the Guanins in Nangun peak?”

One of the AV fighters looks at Azure and notices his high rank. “Well last time I checked, I was in Jungchu valley but, they have a strong fighter with them. And nobody can figure out his name sense he belongs to no faction. And nobody has seen him at Yongu or at the Nanji tracks. They say he may be the elder Guanin's only son. And we all know what that means.” They AV* fighter crosses his arms and walks to the Amaijang valley gate. “Well time for A V. Lets go Kisame.”

Azure looks puzzled towards the gate to Nangun peak. As soon as he gathers himself he speeds over to the gate leaving no trace behind him. As he enters through the Nangun peak portal he sees a flash though his peripheral vision. But before he could look he was being transported into the map.

As soon as he made his way into Nangun Peak he knew something was wrong. He sped over to the Guardians circle and noticed that it had been untouched. “Go figure, those dumb low ranks were pulling a joke. Those ass holes I should PK* them.” He steps out of the Circle and hears the tactless steps* of a Guanin. He pulls his blades out from their rest position and silently buffs up. He stays outside the circle and looks around.

“Psstt! Azure, run hurry!” Kayne pokes her head from behind a cluster of rocks and signals Azure to go her way. Azure looks around once more then sprints to the rocks.

“Kayne, what's going on?”

Kayne looks at Azure slyly. “You don't know? Guanins are invading. It's all over town. Where have you been?” She looks at Azure as if he has done something wrong then looks back at the guardian circle.

“Well they certainly picked a good time to invade. Everybody wants to call it a night. We could use Nights stun. Or better yet, her presence. They can't kill her yet.”

Kayne looks at Azure then thinks to herself. “Should I message her?”

Azure focuses on the guardians circle then looks back at Kayne. “Sure. She needs to get up anyway. She's been asleep for three hours so far.”

Kayne looks back at Azure with a suspicious face. “What? How would you know how long she's been asleep? I know that she hates it when people other than her family, goes into her house. You know too, it's one of her pet peeves.” Kayne closes her eyes, trying to communicate with Night. Kayne pokes Azure in the arm and points up to a rock in the distance.

“Oh that's nice…” Azure looks in the direction to see Night sitting on the rock facing the guardians circle. Once she sees that Azure has noticed her she jumps down and runs to the middle of the Guardians Shield.

“So, what? Am I gonna be the only one out here?” She yells out making sure that she isn't facing and specific direction to give her friends away.

“Yeah, unless some low ranks with good stun come out of hiding. But I doubt that.” Kayne yells out.

Night sits down and stares into space. `I feel so weird.' She lays back and rests her head on her hands pulling her katana from its rest position on her back. She closes her eyes slowly and begins to nod back to sleep but a yell interrupts her.

“Night! Watch out, there is a Guan behind you!” Azure calls out.

Night lifts herself up as fast as she can and pulls herself into attack position. She raises her katana and it begins to glow white with enchantment. After she quickly buffs herself she notices the Guanin in hiding. She sits back down, waiting for him to approach. Quickly he speeds up and tries a multi hit on Night. Night remains still and stuns the interfering Guan. As soon as he is immobilized, a Fujin jumps down from a higher rock and kills him quickly then stays at Night's side.

“Long time no see Jeen.” She turns her back to his as they both observe the area around them.

“Yes it has. How have you been? Is that katana working out well for you?” Jeen puts his weapon in rest position and waits with Night for the next attacking Guan.

“It's working wonderfully. Thanks for giving it to Azure. I don't know what I would have done without it.” Night puts her weapon up as well and, stands with her arms crossed, waiting with Jeen.

Another Guan speeds over to attempt to stun Jeen and Night runs over to him and stuns him back. He freezes in three tries and Jeen kills him in one shot. The Guan remains on the ground then warps back.

“Well, I can't stay long. The resistance battle will be starting soon.” Jeen buffs up again and takes off.

“Bye Jeen!” Night calls out. She buffs up again and placed herself in the middle of the circle again. “Hey, Azure are you going to the resistance battle?”

“Yeah. Do you think you will be able to hold out till it's done?” He pokes his head from the rocks and looks at Nights face. She nods and he transports to an unknown place.

“Hyaaa!!”

Night turns around quickly and pulls her katana from its spot and stands guard. A young looking Guan runs over to Night and stops right in front of her. The guardians left in the circle hit him with attacks that seem to do nothing. He slowly pulls out his sword and raises it to Nights cheek. He quickly slices it across her face watches the blood drip down. Nights cut glows green and she stills, astonished that she was hurt. She gets angry and hesitates to fight back but she counter attacks the guan and he attacks back at her. Their weapons clash, making echoing sounds though the valley.

One on one they fight. Slashes across armor and skin revealing blood are made longer and larger. Both fighters whine in pain and yell with joy when one is hurt. A light of force circles around them and their attacks ricochet off of each other. Night slashes at the Guans chest and knocks him down, pinning him to the ground with her katana at his neck. She stares into his eyes and sees the panic etched into them.

“So much pain. Just like my clan.” She slowly lifts herself off of him and sets her katana back at her back. “And what is this force field?” She lifts her hands and stares into them.

“But how,” The Guanin stands up strait. “How can I hear you?”

Night looks back at the Guan with eyes wide open. “This doesn't make sense. Different factions can't hear each other.” Night looks up at the Guan with confused eyes.

The Guan looks down at Night with sympathetic eyes. “There is something about you. I'm Raie. And no, I'm not going to kill you. Something is telling me not to. You and I both have divine protection from things not of this world.” He sits in position next to her.

“I'm Nehight.”

“Oh, and I'm sorry about you guardian shield. Had to do it. Sense you know, I have the strongest stun in my clan, they automatically vote me to help them.” He laughs. “But, this feeling that you give me, told me to go, even though I'm not of rank 70. But I was able to pass into your lands.”

“Well, I didn't know that, but I'm the same way. I'm not of rank 70, I can't be killed but my stun works well, but once you hurt me, I knew something was different.” Nehight stands up and faces her gate. “You had better leave. Fujins are coming now that they know who you are.”

Nehight runs over to her portal. “Nice meeting you Raie.”

“Wait! Nehight! There is something…wrong.”

 

“The Shield has met its guardian.”

“But both have fought each other. Our job was to keep the clans from war.”

“They fought unknowingly, plus Night stopped. She saw the connection in his eye.”

“This will work.”

“So we shall continue our protection.”

“Yes.”
