Chapter 1
Ryo opened his eyes slowly, his mind lazily dragging itself from the deep slumber he had been in. In the back of his mind he was in no hurry to wake up. It was his day off that much he could recall.
Something warm and solid rested across his waist, pressing him into the bed. What..?, he thought muzzily, drawing a step closer towards full consciousness. A breath of warmth caressed his shoulder, drawing a shiver from him. His mind struggled further, sloughing off the sleep dazed state. What could he feel? He tried to move, but the weight across his body didn't shift though he did feel his shoulder brush against something warm next to him.
Suddenly he came fully awake. Dee! He hurriedly turned his head, and sure enough, there was his dark haired partner still sleeping next to him, an arm thrown possessively around Ryo's waist.
The events of the night before came flooding back to Ryo, and he felt his face burning fiercely. He couldn't stop the shiver of remembered excitement that shook his body. He could hardly believe that they had done what they had - but they had. A small tendril of thought in the back of his mind voiced its uncertainty about the situation; it was so unsure of everything, so cautious.
Ryo looked down at Dee. His black hair fell over his face in strands, his long dark lashes lay along his cheeks hiding those penetrating green eyes that unmasked Ryo completely. In a way he was glad those eyes were hidden. He wasn't certain he could have faced them just at the moment. Dee's face was calm and relaxed in sleep. Ryo could even see what looked to be like a small smile curving those full lips.
Those lips….Ryo's thoughts raced away again. Those lips pressed against his, trailing down his body, closing over his erection, pressed against his rear, suckling on his nipples.
The flush that had previously only affected his face, now permeated across his entire body. He could feel that heat through his entire being - especially centering in one portion of his anatomy.
He almost groaned out loud. Why did he do that?! He mentally kicked himself. Thinking those sort of thoughts and getting a raging hard-on is not conducive to trying to have a serious consideration about an important life changing event! He sighed. Now what was he supposed to do?
Suddenly the arm around his middle shifted. He breathed a little sigh of relief thinking that now he could escape silently to the bathroom and give himself some space to think, and probably sort something out as well so his mind was clear.
His relief was short lived. For although the arm had shifted, Ryo suddenly felt a hand close gently around his erection. He gasped aloud and couldn't prevent his body instinctively thrusting into that hold. No! he cried in his mind. That's not what he had wanted! But deny it all he liked, his body betrayed him.
The hand stroked him gently, slowly. He moaned softly, eyes closing, as he lost himself in that touch. The movement then stilled, before the hand softly coasted up his body to rest on his chest where it lay quietly. He opened his eyes and looked over to see Dee watching him through slitted eyes.
“Morning,” he said.
Ryo shook off the pleasure haze he had fallen into and answered, “Morning.”
Dee pulled himself upright a little so he was propped up on one elbow. Ryo felt a swift pang of regret as Dee's hand left his body, but he didn't say anything.
Dee looked down at him silently, just looking. Ryo was beginning to feel a little nervous. Had he done something wrong last night? Was there some sort of etiquette that he didn't know about for `the-morning-after-you-admit-that-you're-gay-and-sleep-with-your-working-pa rtner'? Was there something on his face?
He self consciously reached up a hand to touch his features. He couldn't feel anything different. Just checking. Dee reached out and captured the exposed hand and drew it to his lips, dropping a feather-soft kiss to the fingertips.
“You are so beautiful,” Dee murmured. “I love waking up to see your face.”
Ryo smiled, though it was a little uncertain. What was he supposed to say? He really wasn't sure at all.
“Hey!” Dee suddenly said.
“Y..yes?” Ryo almost jumped in surprise.
“Stop looking so stressed,” Dee suddenly leant in a little closer, peering at Ryo's face closely.
“Uhhmm?” Ryo said, thinking hard and still not coming up with anything remotely intelligent to say.
Dee suddenly heaved a loud sigh and leant right back, moving himself out of Ryo's personal space.
“Okay, then,” he said with another sigh and sat himself up more fully, plumping the pillows behind him before settling back. “Talk,” he said.
“Huh?” Ryo expressed, staring up at his partner in confusion.
Dee looked down on him, arms crossed over his chest. “Talk to me, Ryo.”
“Uhmm? About what?”
Dee rolled his eyes. “Man, you are so obtuse sometimes,” Dee dropped his eyes to look at Ryo again, who just continued to look confused and was starting to look a little panicky also.
“Ryo,” Dee began. “You're still not sure about this, are you?”
Ryo bit his lip, not saying anything.
“Look, just tell me this. Did you mean what you said to me last night? At the bridge?”
Ryo remembered what he had said. He remembered the look on Dee's face when he had said those words to him. Looking up at Dee's face now, he could remember how his heart had lurched in his chest as he had said those words to him. How he had meant it with all his being. Had that changed, he wondered?
His eyes traced the contours of Dee's features, drinking in that face, recalling every expression he had ever seen cross that countenance; the anger, the tears, the worry, the teasing, the concern, the passion. He had seen probably every look, every emotion there was, on Dee's face. Every single one was a treasure to him, something precious. He didn't want to lose that. Ever. He remembered each time Dee had been in danger, each time he had been hurt. Each time had torn him apart inside. He had never wanted to feel like that again, to live with that uncertainty. He wanted to know that Dee was with him. Always.
He looked deeply into Dee's deep green eyes, not dropping his gaze from that intense look. No, nothing had changed since last night.
“Ryo?” Dee questioned quietly, still waiting for an answer.
Ryo heard the slight tinge of fear colouring his voice. It was then that he also noticed that Dee's hands on his folded arms were white at the knuckles. Ryo reached out and rested a hand lightly on Dee's arm, feeling the tenseness of the muscles under his touch.
“Yes, Dee,” he said firmly. “I meant it. Every word. I still mean it.”
Ryo could feel the muscles immediately relax under his hand, the softening in Dee's eyes.
“So, you do still love me?” he asked, almost begging for further reassurance.
“Yes. I still love you, Dee.”
“I'm glad. I wish you wouldn't make me worry like that.”
“Sorry.”
“It's all right,” Dee tossed him a quick grin, before turning serious again. “So, now you've sorted my worries out, what's yours?”
Ryo chewed on his bottom lip, thinking hard.
“I….” he began, and then stopped again.
“You didn't like what we did last night?”
“No!” Ryo burst out, then seeing Dee's face crumble completely, he hurriedly justified his outburst. “I mean, yes! Look, I mean I did like what we did last night. Very much so.” Ryo mentally breathed a sigh of relief as Dee's face brightened again.
“Good, because I really enjoyed it. I didn't hurt you too badly, did I?” he said, peering down at Ryo with worry again. “”Is that why you're so…”
Ryo interrupted him again, sitting up suddenly. “Dee, will you just be quiet for a minute and let me get a word in edgeways!”
Dee sat back in his pillows with a startled look on his face. “O..okay. Go ahead.”
Ryo raked a hand through his head, fingers snagging in knots at the back. The memory of how his hair had got like that brought a flush to his cheeks. He tried to get his thoughts back under control.
“Look, Dee. The problem isn't with you. And it's not about what I feel for you. It's not even really about what we did last night. I wanted it, I really did but…” Dee just continued to sit in silence, though his eyes begged Ryo to keep going and not clam up as he often did.
He took a deep breath. “It's more….I guess I feel that we're…..rushing.”
Dee let out a choked laugh. “R….rushing?!” he stuttered out. “Ryo, it's taken two fucking years to get to this point!”
Ryo waved a hand. “I know, I know, but what I mean is that last night, it was the first night that I could tell you. Really tell you how I felt, and know that I meant it completely. Everything was good last night, and I'm not saying that I don't want to ever do it again, but I don't want to rush things!”
Ryo sighed, shoulders slumping. “I'm not making any sense at all, am I?” he said morosely.
A soft hand slid along his cheek, cupping the side of his face. He lifted his head to see Dee looking at him with a gentle smile on his face. “Yeah, you are. And I'm an idiot to not have seen it.”
Ryo was confused. “How are you an idiot?” he wanted to know.
“Because,” said Dee. “I've been chasing you for all this time, and I know exactly how you think and react to things. Which is exactly why it's taken so long for us to get to this point. I should have realized that you still needed time and not have pushed you.”
“Dee, you're a moron!” Ryo said sharply. “You didn't push me. Remember, I asked to kiss you first!”
“Maybe, but I was pretty damn pushy once we got back here.”
Ryo couldn't very well argue with that, but he still wasn't going to let Dee wallow in unfounded guilt. “You may have been a little, but I was plenty willing for you to show me.”
Dee couldn't disguise the flash of desire in his eyes as he obviously remembered the events of the previous evening. “Yeah, guess you were,” his voice sounding husky.
Ryo shivered at the sound and felt his previously limp shaft suddenly begin to harden once more.
“Dee, I'm just not sure where we go to from here.” Ryo said, pushing his erotic thoughts aside. “I mean, everything you've been doing and indicating has been to reach this point. Now that we're here, where do we go?”
Dee looked back at Ryo, then his eyes widened in surprise. He suddenly reached out and grabbed Ryo's face firmly in both hands. “You bloody, idiotic fool!” he said fiercely. “Do you think this is all there is? That is all that I've wanted?!”
Ryo half shrugged, indicating his lack of knowledge.
“Gods, Ryo! You drive me crazy sometimes! When I said I loved you, it wasn't because I just wanted to fuck you! I mean, I do want to fuck you, and as often as I can….” Dee visibly dragged his mind away from that thought, and continued, “But there's more to it than that. When I said I love you, Ryo, I meant I want to be with you. I want you to be with me, always by my side. I want us to share things together, spend time together, do things together, be there for each other. It's not just about sex! Though that was pretty fucking incredible too!”
Ryo just took everything in that Dee had said, processing it.
“Is that part of what was worrying you?” Dee asked. “Thinking it was just about sex and so now I'd just leave?”
Ryo tried to look away but Dee still held his face, so he settled for dropping his eyes. “Partly,” he admitted.
“Ryo,” Ryo raised his eyes to Dee's face. “I'll never leave you. I promise.”
Those words set Ryo's heart a flutter, and tears formed in his eyes. “So, what happens now?” he asked quietly. “What do we do at work?”
Dee released Ryo, and leant back again. “What happens now? Well, that depends on you,” he said. “What do you want to do?”
“Aahh?” Ryo thought for a moment. “I guess I would like us to…..I don't know…..date?” he said shyly. “Can we….back up a bit? Take things a little slower?” He didn't know if Dee would get mad at him for suggesting this.
“How far to back up?” Dee asked, treating it seriously. “What's going to be acceptable for you?”
“Ah..” Ryo could feel himself beginning to blush again. “Kissing, perhaps some… touching?”
“How much touching?” Dee pressed.
Ryo blushed brighter. How much was too much? How much was enough? The image of their first night together flashed through his mind, bringing a wave of heat with it through his body and straight to his erection.
“Maybe up to the first night we were together? Perhaps.”
Dee pursed his lips. “That first night, hmmm? You're okay with what we did then? No worries, no regrets about it?”
Ryo shook his head, unable to answer as his mind was assaulted over and over again with the thoughts of Dee's hands over his body, his lips spreading fiery trails over his flesh, the moistness of his mouth as it slid down his erection. The erection that was straining between his legs right at this moment.
“Okay,” Dee agreed “I can live with that. We don't have to go all the way. Not until you're ready to, okay?”
Ryo nodded, tongue snaking out to lick dry lips as his fingers ached to wrap around his rigid shaft to get some relief.
“So, since we've both got today off and the brats are still away, why don't we just take it easy today? Just the two of us. Get to know what it feels like to just be together. I want to know how your body feels, Ryo. All the things that give you pleasure.”
Ryo's mind was beginning to spin out of control at Dee's words. Words like body…feel…..pleasure….. Little sparks were beginning to race through his nerves, sending them tingling. A shudder shook him, one he couldn't hide.
Dee sat up slowly, sheet gathered at his hips, just as it was with Ryo, baring the rest of his naked body to Ryo's hungry gaze. He locked his eyes on Ryo's, seeing those dark eyes grow darker with desire. It touched off a corresponding desire in himself.
All the time he had been talking to Ryo, trying to work through the problems and concerns Ryo was having, Dee had felt his erection growing. All the time they were talking he had wanted to reach out and touch this man before him, to drown in his kisses.
Dee snaked his hand under the sheet and felt his fingers close round Ryo's hard erection. My god, Dee thought, he's so hard and hot already! He felt his own body tingle at the contact as Ryo's eyes closed with a soft moan.
Dee wanted to throw Ryo on his back and plunge inside, to bury himself in that warm body. But he held himself back. It could be a long time before they do that again and he couldn't really blame Ryo. This was all a very big step for him and Dee admitted that he had been a little unthinking with regards to that, rushing headlong into it as he usually did with things. He was just grateful that Ryo had at least talked to him about it and not panicked completely and called it all off. Dee wouldn't have been able to take that if it had happened. Fortunately it hadn't, so things were still okay.
So he couldn't go all the way with Ryo just yet? Doesn't mean that they couldn't do a hell of a lot of other things that were just as satisfying for them both!
He stroked his hand up and down Ryo's shaft, listening to the soft moans issuing from his partner. He leant forward and placed a gentle kiss on those lips. Ryo's eyes opened to meet his.
“We don't have to do anything you don't want to do. If you tell me to stop something, I will. I swear it. I won't try and push things any further even if you don't tell me to stop. Do you believe me?”
Ryo nodded without hesitation, trust in his eyes. “I'm glad,” Dee brushed another light kiss over Ryo's lips. “Then let's make ourselves comfortable again and just enjoy this day, shall we? We can stay in bed all day.”
“That's a bit decadent, don't you think?” Ryo said softly with a smile.
Dee smirked back. “May as well make the most of it,” he said, following his own advice and snuggling back down under the covers. Ryo followed suit.
Dee turned and pulled Ryo into a light, but passionate kiss. He drew back after a short time, reaching up to brush some hair back from Ryo's face. “I want you to be comfortable with me, Ryo. I want you to touch me, get to know my body like it was your own. I want to feel your hands on me, as much as I want to touch you. Are you okay with that?”
One of Ryo's hands was already sliding over Dee's raised shoulder, down his ribs to his waist. “That I can do,” Ryo whispered, leaning in for another kiss. This time he was the one to slide his tongue inside Dee's mouth. Dee moaned at the contact, enjoying every moment of it.
“Just do what you want to, Ryo. Just do what you want to.”
