The moon shone down on a town, making it seem like it was serene and at peace, but it wasn’t. At the local town community park, a battle was brewing……
“You fuckers invade our turf and expect us to let you get away with it? Not a snowballs chance in hell!!!” shouted a ganger, he was dressed in shabby clothes and was wielding a metal pole, which he held onto as he shouted angrily. There were two groups of people. One side was the unders, The people on the other side were from the upper class side of town; their leader took a step forward and said “because we own you” “FUCK YOU!!” the ganger shouted “Come and fight me, you pussy” he ran up to the head of the upper classers and punched him. They fell to the ground and wrestled as they kept punching each other. The gang member, Josh threw a punch which connected with the upperclassers nose.
He stood up, grabbed a lead pipe and was about to smack the leader when a siren sounded “everybody split!!!” he shouted as they ran in different directions. Josh ran until he went into an alley, where he jumped the fence a few feet later. He landed on the roof of a shed and leaped down from there and took his beanie off as he walked through the backyard of the house, until he came to the door of the house. He opened it and walked through the corridor silently, until he came to the kitchen. As he did, the light turned on to reveal his mother and father sitting in the lounge room. He entered the lounge room and his father spoke first “son, we’ve had the police at the door again, they were checking that you were here. We told them that you were asleep. We won’t lie for you again, from now on you are not allowed to see those ‘friends’ of yours” “what the fuck?” “Sorry, but that’s the decision we came to” said his mother sadly. His expression changed from shock to pure rage “no, fuck this, I’m out of here!!” he said angrily as he went to his room. He went over to his closet and began stuffing clothes into his bag. An hour later, he emerged from his room, carrying two bags. He went over to the door, stopped and said “goodbye” before he slammed the door for the final time. he walked down the road until he came to a payphone where he put some coins in and dialed a number "yeah, it's me. i'm ready to go now".
he waited for ten minutes before a black ford fairlane pulled up next to him. a man stepped out dressed in a black hooded jacket and black pants and shirt. he turned to josh and said "g'day mate, how ya goin? you sure about this mate?" josh nodded as he stood up and said "yeah jeff, harry said he's got something organised for me. anyways, there's no life left for me here" the man approached the bags and put them into the car as josh climbed into the car. jeff closed the door and climbed into the drivers seat and started the car

the car pulled away and drove into the night, through geelong and finally into melbourne before they left melbourne and headed out towards the airport.

they pulled into the airport a half hour later. jeff stopped the car and said as josh climbed out "well, i guess this is goodbye then, huh josh?" josh was in the back of the car getting his bags out when he said "yeah. take care of yourself jeff, tell sonia i said goodbye" "will do. when you get there, tell harry i said hi and tell him he owes me 50 bucks" josh laughed and said "i can guarantee telling harry you said hi but i cant guarantee that last part" "ah well. take care o' yourself man" he said as he put out his hand. josh took it and shook his hand "you too bro" they nodded to each other as they let go and josh walked away, into the airport

Two years have passed in the life of joshua payne,
And josh was studying at Nekomi tech in japan, after working for enough money at various jobs to enrol. He’d also taken up residence in the motorcycle club dormitory because for the low rent cost and it was the only dorm that had very few people in it, which suited josh perfectly. For a while, he got to know a young man by the name of Keiichi Morisato, and the two became very good friends. One morning Josh was tossing and turning, trying to sleep when a loud knock actually a bang sounded on the door “Josh, c’mon, it’s time to rise. Get up!!!” came a burly voice on the other side of the door. He opened his eyes and thought to himself “why can't i just die?” as he sat up. He heard Ootaki rumble down to Keiichi’s door and do the same. They went about their morning exercises and went to their classes. lunch time came around and josh was laid back under the shade of a tree, watching people go by as he was listening to "Moon Baby" by Godsmack

josh walked away feeling like shit; not only did he have trouble hiding his past, he had to hide it from his best friend. he didn't notice as he bumped into someone, making him stumble back and the person fall onto the ground. he looked up to notice that he'd knocked over sayoko mishima, the campus queen "jesus, watch where you're going slut. god, some people" he said as he shook his head side to side, checking for damage "oof, watch where you're going you big oaf. oh it's you" she said as she opened her eyes and looked up to see him as she rubbed her head. it was no secret on the campus that josh and sayoko hated each other; he hated her because of the way she treated men and she hated him because he refused to chase after her. he took in a deep breath and turned to see three guys around him "you hurt queen sayoko, you'll pay for that" josh just sighed and said "whatever man. if you lot wanna fight then c'mon" as he raised his hands to fight. it was at that point that someone slammed into the back of one of the guys, knocking them down. they stood up and he said "b-box? shit man what're you doing here?" "heard there was a fight about to start so i figured i'd see how my friend is going but i saw those three guys and figured only one person would cause somethin like this. y'know, you have a real knack nigga for pissin off the wrong people" "gee, thanks a lot mate" said josh dryly as they stod back to back as three more surrounded them "ready?" "anytime" smirked josh as they leapt at the men. one swung with his right fist which josh ducked before he kicked the guy in the balls. the guy dropped and as he did, josh was punched in the jaw, making him stumble back before he spat out a tooth and said "ah hell with it" as he ran at the guy and rabbit-punched them in the gut. the guy dropped and josh sidestepped to avoid being hit by the last guy "bah, these guys can't even put up a decent challenge" he said as he swept the last guys legs out from under him and planted his foot in the guys chest "jesus, these guys're pathetic, not even a challenge" he said as he walked away, leaving the crowd to gasp in awe as the man who beat three guys without even trying left with his friend who'd finished beating the other three.
later on in the afternoon, josh was walking back from a liquor shop, carrying a bag which contained about 8 cans of bourbon "good, these'll do me for a while" he said as he walked past a playground. he looked into there as he walked past and felt a twinge of sadness, knowing he'll probably never have a child to call his. <i might pay a visit to the boys tommorrow afternoon. i could use the break from all this shit> he thought as he walked sombrely and lonely down the street until he reached a hill and climbed up to the top, sitting on it as he looked out to the skyline lit by the setting sun.
he left the hill and headed back to the dorm. Later that night while he laid on his bed with headphones on and listening to music, ootaki rumbled into josh's room and said "Payne!, we're going out for a party, morisato's not coming because someone has to be here to take our messages while we're gone. you comin?" josh slipped his headphones off and said "nahh, i think i'll stay. i'm not exactly the socialising type"
if you listened hard enough, you could hear "I will be heard" by the band "Hatebreed". he slipped them back on as Tamiya closed the door and as soon as they left, he curled into a ball on his bed and began crying silently to himself <someone out there please help me> a knock on the door could be heard, so josh took off his headphones and wiped a tear from his eye as the door opened and a voice asked "hey josh, you alright?" "leave me alone" he said, looking at the wall before he cried again. he wiped his eyes again and said “How about I go and get us some food? i need to do something before i turn into a blubbering mess” “Sure” he said nodding as Josh exited the dorm.
When he came back, he saw Tamiya, Ootaki and the others standing in the hallway. “What’s going on?” Josh asked as he walked up to the gathering. He managed to squeeze through and see that Keiichi was standing with a young woman. She had long light brown coloured hair, tied in a bow, as well as a strange dress. He sighed and pushed his way out, as they threw him and the girl out.
he ran outside and collapsed onto the ground, crying "why do you hate me, why do you have to make me suffer god? WHY?" he started beating the ground until he got up and walked back into the dorm, feeling more desolate and alone than ever.
That night, an angel from heaven cried.....
