two gunshots filled the empty space of the alleyway. they stood silent for a second before the guy dropped to the groud as blood pooled around them. josh dropped to his knees, releasing his 2nd pistol as he clutched his stomach. he held his hand out and saw crimson red blood on his hand "ah hell" he mumbled, spitting up blood as he slowly got to his feet and stumbled out of the alleyway, clutching his stomach.
b-box was walking out of one house and said "fuck, he wasn't there. where the hell'd he go?" he saw someone out of the corner of his eye, so he turned and raised his mp5 and gasped in horror as he saw josh stumble to the front gate, clutching his chest before he collapsed onto the pavement with his blood slowly beginning to pool around his body "JOSH!! SHIT. BOYS, LET'S GO!!" he shouted into the house. he ran down the pathway to josh and slung his arm over b-box's shoulder "b?" he asked weakly "yeah man, we're gonna get you outta here" "b?" "yeah?" "gettin shot hurts" josh laughed and said "yeah man, i know. where do you wanna go, home or hospital?" "home, trust me. i'll be better off" "alright man, you're the boss. LETS GO BOYS, C'MON" he shouted as he got into the back of the car. he laid josh ontop of him as he took off his shirt and applied it to josh's stomach wound "c'mon man, don't die on me" he said as they drove away, out of the ghetto towards the hills. as they drove up the mountain, the driver asked "hey b, did you ask him what happened, who did it?" "nah man, he passed out before i had a chance to ask him" "ah well, we'll ask him when we drop 'round to his house".
they arrived at the temple and b-box, with the help of one of the guys, carried josh up the steps and to the front door with his feet dragging along the ground "HEY, ANYONE IN THERE!!!" shouted b-box as he opened the door "hello there, can i...?" asked belldandy as she entered the room "JOSH-SAN!!!" she cried as she rushed over to them "hello, get him onto the couch. what happened?" "we were reclaiming our turf from some rivals and someone shot him while we were busy" said one of the guys as they laid him on the couch. urd entered the room, humming a tune before she saw josh lying on the couch in his blood-stained clothing "josh?" she ran over to him and looked him over "josh?" she asked as she grabbed a damp cloth ad wiped some blood away from his face. he opened his eyes slowly and said faintly "urd? is that you?" she began to cry as she said "yes, it's me. you're home now, you're safe"
josh passed out and urd turned to b-box and the other two gang members, saying "you guys can go, we'll call you and let you know when he improves" "sure miss" said b-box "alright boys, let's get outta here. we've still got some work to do" he said as they left the residence "alright bell, let's clean him up first and then i'll extract the bullet and we can heal him. i'll use a spell to stop the wound from becoming infected" "alright nee-san, i'll get some water and some cloths" urd nodded and belldandy ran into the kitchen. urd chanted the spell and removed his shirt and jacket. she gasped as she saw the bullet wound and josh's chest slowly rise and fall "bell, we're going to have to speed things up, i don't think he'll last till tommorrow night" "aright nee-san"
the room changed into a surgery with josh lying on a trolley completely naked with a towel covering his privates. Urd and belldandy entered the room wearing doctor's surgery outfits. they approached the table and urd said "alright bell, scalpel" "scalpel" she replied as she gave urd the knife. urd plunged it into the skin and drew it accross the flesh for three centimetres, opening the wound "we've stopped the bleeding so we don't have to worry about that" urd said as she inserted a set of tweezer-looking instruments.
for the next hour, belldandy and urd surgically removed the bullet and fixed a couple of extra internal shrapnel wounds he suffered as a result of the gunfire. "alright" we're done here" urd said as she wiped her brow as belldandy sowed up the wound. urd pulled down the mask and pressed a finger to her lips and kissed it, before she put that finger to the wound, making it glow a dull blue "that should help" she said to no-one in particular.

"joshua" a voice called to me "joshua" i looked around groggily and saw belldandy, she was standing over me, looking down at me "joshua, they're all dead, you failed to save them. actually, they were all dead, dead from the moment they came to earth, just like you when you came to japan" i rolled over and passed out again. i could see the surface of water and a voice said "josh, why? why'd you kill her?, she was your girfriend" "MURDERER!" another voice, an unknown feminine said. then a softer voice, one i recognised immediately "No Josh, NOOOOO!!!!" a gunshot and the voice i'd found belonged to one woman, Urd. "well buddy, we've got ways of dealin wid scum like youse" i opened my eyes and noticed i was in a room where the walls were stained with blood, the smell permeating my nostrils, making me wretch over my shirt. i tried to move but felt my hands were tied behind me to a chair. i saw my shirt was covered with my own blood and puke. the door opened and two figures walked down the steps and approached me, one had in their left hand an aluminum baseball bat. their faces were hidden but their voices weren't "well now, what do we have here? it seems we have the shadowman himself" they both chuckled an evil laugh which made me shudder. they stepped into the light and i immediately recognised the people. they were Skuld and belldandy.
he awoke the next morning with a flutter of his eyes and saw he had a blanket on, as well as that neither Urd or Peorth were not present in the room. he stood up, groaned in pain and clutched his chest, noting that most of his body was wrapped in bandages <damn it, i was hoping it was a dream> he thought as he climbed slowly to his feet and exited the room, checking the hallway and heading into the kitchen. he stopped when he heard two voices "... that was fun, wasn't it Urd?" "yep, we should do this more often" he stepped into the room and cleared his throat. they turned and Urd disappeared, reappearing infront of him "hey, how are you?" she asked as she kissed him. he smiled and said "a little sore, like someone beat the living crap outta me, what's going on?" Urd stood and was about to say something when another female voice spoke up, saying "hello norns. having fun? 'cause i'm here to ruin it. who's the loser?" Josh turned to see a young looking blonde haired woman, she had light coloured skin and two slash looking marks on her forehead. she was dressed in a black overcoat, black pants and a black low-cut vest, exposing her cleavage.
"what do you want Mara?" asked Urd coldly as she spat it out with contempt. he turned to Urd and said "care to explain? who's this bitch?" Mara cut in, saying "demoness first class, Category 2nd unlimited licence Mara. i work for the demon grief office, pleasure to met you mortal" she said flashing a pair of sparkling white fangs. Josh looked at them and then bent over, motioning to Mara and patting his leg, saying "here kitty kitty, want some food? i got some fish if you want it?" Mara saw red at that, which made Urd and Peorth burst out laughing "HOW DARE YOU TALK THAT WAY TO ME, MORTAL" she bellowed. Josh walked up to her and did nothing for about five seconds, before he gave Mara a mean right-hook to her cheek. Mara's demonic angel appeared out of her back she was ready to fight but a voice was calling him, drawing him in. the darkness was calling out to him, trying to draw him in "joshua" it called "joshua, use me, use my powers".
he backed off and began clutching his head, shouting "NO, PLEASE, NOT NOW!!!" when the room darkened. Mara looked around in suspicion, saying "what the hell is going on?" Urd turned back to Josh who was clutching his head, obviously wrestling with the darkness within when a tendril dove out of the shadows and struck Urd, knocking her out cold before it went towards Mara and connected, sending Mara into an open portal. the darkness dissipated and Josh dropped to the ground, saying "what the hell?" when he turned his head and saw her lying on the ground with a cut on her forehead, bleeding slightly.
he stood up, said "oh my god" before he ran out the front door. Peorth turned back to Urd and thought to herself "what the hell was that all about?" Peorth muttered a few words and Urd's wound healed, just as the others returned "what the heck is going on? Peorth, what are you doing here?" asked Keiichi as he took in the scene infront of him. Belldandy looked around and asked curiously "where is Joshua?" she shook her head sadly and said "i don't know, he took off right after he saw her" "what happened?" "we had an incident with Mara. Josh lost control of his powers and they lashed out, knocking Urd out but dispatching mara as well" they gasped and Belldandy said "Keiichi, stay with Urd until she wakes up, we're going to look for Josh" "be careful bell-chan" said Keiichi as he kissed her, which suprised all of them. Skuld and Belldandy left to look for him on the streets while Peorth went back to yggdrasil to find him through that. "how do you find someone who doesn't want to be found? where'd you go josh?" keiichi questioned sadly.....

josh passed out and urd turned to b-box and the other two gang members, saying "you guys can go, we'll call you and let you know when he improves" "sure miss" said b-box "alright boys, let's get outta here. we've still got some work to do" he said as they left the residence "alright bell, let's clean him up first and then i'll extract the bullet and we can heal him. i'll use a spell to stop the wound from becoming infected" "alright nee-san, i'll get some water and some cloths" urd nodded and belldandy ran into the kitchen. urd chanted the spell and removed his shirt and jacket. she gasped as she saw the bullet wound and josh's chest slowly rise and fall "bell, we're going to have to speed things up, i don't think he'll last till tommorrow night" "aright nee-san"
the room changed into a surgery with josh lying on a trolley completely naked with a towel covering his privates. Urd and belldandy entered the room wearing doctor's surgery outfits. they approached the table and urd said "alright bell, scalpel" "scalpel" she replied as she gave urd the knife. urd plunged it into the skin and drew it accross the flesh for three centimetres, opening the wound "we've stopped the bleeding so we don't have to worry about that" urd said as she inserted a set of tweezer-looking instruments.
for the next hour, belldandy and urd surgically removed the bullet and fixed a couple of extra internal shrapnel wounds he suffered as a result of the gunfire. "alright" we're done here" urd said as she wiped her brow as belldandy sowed up the wound. urd pulled down the mask and pressed a finger to her lips and kissed it, before she put that finger to the wound, making it glow a dull blue "that should help" she said to no-one in particular.

"joshua" a voice called to me "joshua" i looked around groggily and saw belldandy, she was standing over me, looking down at me "joshua, they're all dead, you failed to save them. actually, they were all dead, dead from the moment they came to earth, just like you when you came to japan" i rolled over and passed out again. i could see the surface of water and a voice said "josh, why? why'd you kill her?, she was your girfriend" "MURDERER!" another voice, an unknown feminine said. then a softer voice, one i recognised immediately "No Josh, NOOOOO!!!!" a gunshot and the voice i'd found belonged to one woman, Urd. "well buddy, we've got ways of dealin wid scum like youse" i opened my eyes and noticed i was in a room where the walls were stained with blood, the smell permeating my nostrils, making me wretch over my shirt. i tried to move but felt my hands were tied behind me to a chair. i saw my shirt was covered with my own blood and puke. the door opened and two figures walked down the steps and approached me, one had in their left hand an aluminum baseball bat. their faces were hidden but their voices weren't "well now, what do we have here? it seems we have the shadowman himself" they both chuckled an evil laugh which made me shudder. they stepped into the light and i immediately recognised the people. they were Skuld and belldandy.
he awoke the next morning with a flutter of his eyes and saw he had a blanket on, as well as that neither Urd or Peorth were not present in the room. he stood up, groaned in pain and clutched his chest, noting that most of his body was wrapped in bandages <damn it, i was hoping it was a dream> he thought as he climbed slowly to his feet and exited the room, checking the hallway and heading into the kitchen. he stopped when he heard two voices "... that was fun, wasn't it Urd?" "yep, we should do this more often" he stepped into the room and cleared his throat. they turned and Urd disappeared, reappearing infront of him "hey, how are you?" she asked as she kissed him. he smiled and said "a little sore, like someone beat the living crap outta me, what's going on?" Urd stood and was about to say something when another female voice spoke up, saying "hello norns. having fun? 'cause i'm here to ruin it. who's the loser?" Josh turned to see a young looking blonde haired woman, she had light coloured skin and two slash looking marks on her forehead. she was dressed in a black overcoat, black pants and a black low-cut vest, exposing her cleavage.
"what do you want Mara?" asked Urd coldly as she spat it out with contempt. he turned to Urd and said "care to explain? who's this bitch?" Mara cut in, saying "demoness first class, Category 2nd unlimited licence Mara. i work for the demon grief office, pleasure to met you mortal" she said flashing a pair of sparkling white fangs. Josh looked at them and then bent over, motioning to Mara and patting his leg, saying "here kitty kitty, want some food? i got some fish if you want it?" Mara saw red at that, which made Urd and Peorth burst out laughing "HOW DARE YOU TALK THAT WAY TO ME, MORTAL" she bellowed. Josh walked up to her and did nothing for about five seconds, before he gave Mara a mean right-hook to her cheek. Mara's demonic angel appeared out of her back she was ready to fight but a voice was calling him, drawing him in. the darkness was calling out to him, trying to draw him in "joshua" it called "joshua, use me, use my powers".
he backed off and began clutching his head, shouting "NO, PLEASE, NOT NOW!!!" when the room darkened. Mara looked around in suspicion, saying "what the hell is going on?" Urd turned back to Josh who was clutching his head, obviously wrestling with the darkness within when a tendril dove out of the shadows and struck Urd, knocking her out cold before it went towards Mara and connected, sending Mara into an open portal. the darkness dissipated and Josh dropped to the ground, saying "what the hell?" when he turned his head and saw her lying on the ground with a cut on her forehead, bleeding slightly.
he stood up, said "oh my god" before he ran out the front door. Peorth turned back to Urd and thought to herself "what the hell was that all about?" Peorth muttered a few words and Urd's wound healed, just as the others returned "what the heck is going on? Peorth, what are you doing here?" asked Keiichi as he took in the scene infront of him. Belldandy looked around and asked curiously "where is Joshua?" she shook her head sadly and said "i don't know, he took off right after he saw her" "what happened?" "we had an incident with Mara. Josh lost control of his powers and they lashed out, knocking Urd out but dispatching mara as well" they gasped and Belldandy said "Keiichi, stay with Urd until she wakes up, we're going to look for Josh" "be careful bell-chan" said Keiichi as he kissed her, which suprised all of them. Skuld and Belldandy left to look for him on the streets while Peorth went back to yggdrasil to find him through that. "how do you find someone who doesn't want to be found? where'd you go josh?" keiichi questioned sadly.....
