Buffy the Vampire Slayer: How Spike Really Lost His Heart

Disclaimer:

To all of you Spike fans, I believe Spike should have had someone else except Buffy. Granted that did add to the story, but I just didn't like him and Harmony. Something just really didn't seem right between them. I don't know, Maybe i just love Spike and I don't wanna share. Anyway, As for the brilliant Joss Whedon and the rest of the Buffy people, I thank you for so many different inspirations. You are wonderful and brilliant people, and I don't want you to sue me or anything for borrowing the Buffy storyline. Hey maybe if you like the way I write, you'll want me to come work for you. Haha! just messing.

OBTW: I am adding a couple of characters from another story that I wrote a while back. If you want more Info on her, read Justine's Memiors.

Again, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy.

Prolouge:

Justine looked down as the plane started to land. The bright lights of Los Angeles almost scorched her, but it was worth the view. It was her first time to America in a while, but knowing it was to be her last she knew she wanted to take in all the sights. One of her last memories. She almost wanted to turn back, go back to Tokyo, see Leah, tell Nephlyte that she was going to understand him better, and ask him back into her life. But she couldn't go back. She was there for a reason.
She looked back on the last week, her main reason for coming to California. Her problems with her new lifestlye were what brought her here. She was looking for someone. A certain someone. Someone called the Slayer. She remembered how it all began, back in Tokyo.

"Nephlyte, how could you do this to me?" Justine's voice cracked through the tears. Nephlyte had just revealed he was leaving her, for Molly.
"You left long before, Justy," He explained, ever so cooly.
"I never stopped loving you!"
"Well, sorry to hear that because I did." Justine looked at him in shock. This man, who in the Silver Millenium had promised his love for her would transend all odds to be with her, no matter what, had just stabbed her in the back.
"I guess you really didn't learn to use your heart after all," Justine said. With that she turned away, and left their apartment.

She walked for a long time, her eyes wet and swollen from crying. She couldn't go to Lita or Leah, not looking like this. Both would kill Nephlyte, and he was not going to die. He didn't deserve to die. It would be too easy. He wasn't worth that much of an effort.
Before she knew it, she was in an alley way, and it wasn't in the nicest part of town. She didn't care. Death was a welcomed thought for the moment. And she had no clue as to how close it was.
"Wow you look kinda sad, sweety," a soft voice called, breaking Justine's concentration. A young man, dressed in black, with black hair, icy blue eyes and highly arched cheek bones was looking down at her from a roof top. His face was almost a welcome sight.
"Wh-wh-what gave you that clue?" she got out finally. The whole issue with Neph was making her tired and achy. Also cranky.
"Well you're crying for one thing," he said as he jumped down from the roof of the building. "And for another, I am empathic. I can just sense these things."
"So it was just obvious and you wanna make me feel better?" Justine knew it when people were bull shitting her, and she didn't feel like being talked down to tonight.
"Okay, so your a B.S. seeker. I like it when you women like straight shooters. Its easier than running around the bush, if you know what I mean."
"I think you mean beating around the bush, but yea I get you."
"So you wanna get a drink at that bar over there? I'll buy."
"Well if you don't mind getting me a soda? I don't do the alcohol scene. Bad for you, ya know?"
"I guess, I wouldn't know I don't drink either."
"So why'd ya ask?"
"I figured I could get ya drunk and have my way with you."He laughed stupidly at his own joke, his bright, white teeth shining. Justine suddenly felt uneasy. Something about his teeth seemed wrong. Then total blackness.

"Hey, sweety," a soft male voice said. Justine awoke, immense pain in her head and her neck. She was surprised at the fact that she was still dressed. Her eyes remarkably were not swollen from all the crying she had done. She opened them wide as she realized she was not in daylight.
"Where am I?" Justine asked.
"A crypt," the soft voice said.
"A crypt or yours?"
"My messenger's, lady," Said the voice. A young man with peroxide blonde hair and soulful eyes appeared infront of her. "I am Marbery, sweet girl"
"Okay, so Marbery, what the hell time is it? I had a fucking horrible night and i really need to go out and do some shopping."
"Well that might be impossible since its Daylight out and you're a vampire now?"
"Yes well I don't really believe in that mumbo jumbo, so bye and have a nice day." Justine walked to the door and opened it. The bright sun warmed her as she stepped out into the morning. She sighed sadly as the memory of the day before washed over her.
"NOOOOOO!" Marbery screamed as the young woman walked out the door. Fearing for her life, the man rushed out grabbed her and yanked her back into the crypt.
"What the fucking hell are you doing?!" Justine screamed at him. All the vampire could do was look at her in awe.
"youre not burned?!" Marbery said, amazed.
"Why would I-" Justine started before catching sight of a mirror. She noticed the lack of reflection and realised this was not fake.
"How could you do this to me?" Justine asked, black energy forming around her. Marbery delighted in her anger almost. He smiled before he turned to dust.
"I SWEAR I WILL NEVER LIVE THIS WAY!" she screamed and ran out of the crypt.

"Hey, Lea its me," Justine said nervously over the phone.
"Justine?" Lea asked. "What's wrong? You sound upset."
"Lea, I need to see you in person. Its really important. Can you meet me somewhere?"
"Yea, I guess, but can't you tell me-" Lea asked as she was cut off by the click of the dial. "Well i guess it can't wait."
A few hours later Justine was at Lea's door and looking quite pale. Lea opened up to see her best friend panting and looking very hungry.
"You got anything raw?" Justine asked her friend weakly.
"Fresh or frozen?"
"FRESH!" Justine demanded and pushed passed her best friend roughly.
"Justine what's the matter?" Lea asked as she followed her friend to the kitchen. Justine had never acted in this fashion before and it really worried her.
"Don't you have anything bloody?" Justine asked as she looked up. Lea's facial expression went from concern to horror, then finally to understanding.
"Oh no Justine," Lea cried as she looked at her vampiric friend. "This is why all the secrecy?" Justine felt her face and fell to her knees in shame. Lea went to her, tears falling over her face. She knelt down and tried to console her friend who was now rocking and convulsing with utter shame. They stayed there on the floor of the kitchen for a while. Justine was the first to speak.
"Lea, I want you to kill me." Her voice was cold and flat. Lea knew she meant it.
"I can't do that to you, Justine!" Lea replied. "You and I are best friends. And what about Neph? Does he even know?"
"Neph wouldn't even care anyway! He's gone off to be with your cousin's friend."
"That bastard! How could he do this to you?"
"Easily. He just did! Now can you please kill me?"
"Justine no, I will not kill my best friend!"
"There is no other way. I will not be able to stay on animal blood forever. I am not going to hurt someone just to eat."
Lea looked at her pathetic friend, not knowing how to answer her. She and Justine had been friends for more than a millenium. If she didn't find a way, Justine would have yet another betrayl to deal with, but she couldn't see herself killing her. Then, someone else came to mind.
"Justine, shut up, okay? I got an idea." Lea then explained to Justine that there was someone else who specialized in killing vampires.
“She’s a friend of mine in America,” Lea told Justine. “Her name is Buffy.”
“She’s a Slayer?” Justine asked, puzzled.
“I have a feeling she will find it funny that a vampire wants to die, but she won’t hesitate to kill you if you attack first.”
“Well so should I just go then?” Justine asked after they finished their conversation about how to convince Buffy to kill her.
“yea I guess,” Lea said, her eyes sad. She knew how her friend hated being a vampire.
“Lea, just think of it as me being much happier if I am gone.”

~That was your best reassurance?~ Justine asked herself. ~Man do you need to work on those people skills. Oh wait no you don’t.~ The plane was landing, and Justine felt a sudden pang of danger next to her, but when she looked nothing was there.

When the plane landed Justine saw a familiar man, with a dark haired girl clumsily walking with him, and ran after him.

~If I am going to die,~ Justine thought, ~ I might as well kill him to. This time I will make sure he dies.~
