Chapter 1New In Town

Spike walked quickly through the airport terminal, carrying his lover to a darker ground. The woman in his arms spoke randomly in her insanity. Her mumbled incoherence broke the vampire’s heart. He held back his feelings though, for their safety was his top priority. Sunrise was upon them, and cover was scarce as they ran outside.
“Dru, darlin’,” he whispered to the mad woman, “I gotta set ya down for a sec, love. Promise to not leave?” A soft giggle gave her answer.
“A young and angry girl comes this night,” She said smiling at the young man. Spike looked at her confused. “She’s gunning for you, love.”
“You!” shouted a young woman. Spike turned to see a lovely auburn haired woman behind them, glaring at him with a very strange outfit on. He gave her an innocent “who me?” look.
“Yea you,” she said, a dark tone to her voice. “I could have sworn I killed you.”
“And you know me how?” Spike asked, his look very discomforted and bemused. The girl was glaring at him now.
“Marbery, don’t you toy with me! You sired me and I killed you!” the girl screamed, angry tears streaming down her face.
“Marbery?” Dru questioned. “You killed Marbery?”
“Well, I thought I did,” the girl said still looking at Spike, but changing her expression to confusion.
“Well, it looks like ya did, love,” Spike said, noticing her guard over him was somewhat diminished now. “And you really did do me and my love here a huge favor. That tosser has really been on my nerves with his trying to be like me. All talk he was. Well, anyway you got rid of a huge annoyance for me.” The girl still looked at him with a strange confusion.
“So if you are not Marbery, who are you?” the girl asked.
“Oh sorry, love, forgot my manners completely,” Spike said, his normal charm coming back to him. “I’m Spike, or as I used to be called ‘William the Bloody’. And this here bird is my Drusilla.” The girl nodded to them both with respect.
“I am Justine Alexandra DiMarco. I have come to America for one reason only.”
“And why is that dear?” Dru asked, giggly.
“To be killed by the Slayer!”
“Why on earth would you want to do such a thing?” Spike asked, looking at her worriedly. Why would a vampire want to die?
“I am not into the drinking of blood of humans. I hate just the thought,” Justine stated, her midnight blue eyes turning sad.
“Spike, lets take her with us,” Drusilla said, more sane sounding than in a long time. “She sounds so lonely. I almost feel for her.” Spike looked at his love with an almost sad joyfulness. He too knew the confusion that Justine was going through, but the fact that she didn’t want this gift was a bit too unnerving, Then there was a tap on his shoulder, making him spin around looking for a fight.
“Angel?” Dru asked, confused at the arrival. The tall, dark man smiled as he walked up to their new friend.
“Justine, isn’t it?” The man said to her, his kind yet sad eyes searching over her face.
“Yes?” Justine asked almost in a whisper. Something wasn’t right. How did he know she was going to be here?
“She told me you were coming. I am Angel. I will take you.”
“Is it you, mate?” Spike had to say, breaking the moment between the other two vampires.
“Yea, Spike its me,” Angel said as he looked at the old comrades behind him.
“So you’re taking her where?” Spike asked, this time more confident.
“Back to Sunnydale!” And almost as quick as he had appeared, he and Justine were gone.
“Spike, love?” Dru seemed to ask.
“Yes, bird,” Spike said, not turning towards her.
“Are we following them?”
“Yes, love, we will. All in good time. Now it’s time to find cover love. We have a long way to go.” Spike turned and went over to Dru, pulling her up to him and sharing one last passionate kiss before taking her in his arms and running for the sewers. The sun was almost up.
