Chapter 1: Sempai et Sempai! What's going on???
Aburatsubo-Sempai sat alone in the partitioned area of the Manga Club's meeting room that had been "graciously" donated to the Magic User's Club by Mizuho Miyama. He sighed, pushing his magenta-purple hair out of his face, fluttering his long, dark lashes over his beautiful green eyes. Glancing at the clock over the partition, he saw that Takakura was late.
Again.
Ever since he had "earned the respect" of Sae Sawanoguchi, they had been spending more and more time together. He could tell from that look between them, that there was more than "respect" present. Aburatsubo sighed again, disgusted with their pathetic attempts at hiding their love-or even affection-for one another.
He couldn't conceive of why either of them, or anybody, for that matter, hid their feelings in such a childish way. Why doesn't Takeo see it that way, he wondered.
As though some sort of cosmic cue had taken place, the door to the partitioned-off broom closet-sized meeting room opened. Takakura entered and slid the door shut, his face bright red, and what seemed to be a droplet of blood hanging from his nostril. Aburatsubo changed his demeanor--for Takakura-kun's sake.
"Helloooo, Takeo-kun!" Aburatsubo cooed, hopping up to jump behind the club leader and hugged him. Takakura turned blue, sighing heavily.
"Could you kindly LET GO OF ME Aburatsubo?" Takakura squirmed. Aburatsubo let go of him, and he scuttled away.
"Oh, I see how it is, Takeo-kun," the magenta haired boy said, turning away, crossing his arms. "You've been looking at those girls again, haven't you? I can tell..." He sent a menacing glare to the remains of his nosebleed.
Takakura stood up, blushing at his friend's mention of girls. Yes, he had been with Sae--still practicing her broom riding straddled on the horizontal bar, which had been a particularly amusing sight. On his way, he had run into the President of the Manga Club, Mizuho Miyama-which, unfortunately induced more of his damned fanaticizing-not to mention a near-death beating from the rather well-endowed Manga Club President.
"Takeo-kun, do you mind? You're making me jealous-fanaticizing about girls like that-underclass girls, I bet," Aburatsubo broke into his thoughts. He walked up to Takakura, pressing himself against him in an embrace, and leaned close to the shorter boy's ear. "I'll treat you better than any of them, love..."
Takakura blushed a deeper scarlet, the arousal given to him by Sae and Miyama only getting worse with Aburatsubo's affection. Why does he have to whisper in my ear like that? Takakura wondered. He shuddered, as he felt Aburatsubo's lips, gently nibbling on his earlobe.
"What are you doing?!" Takakura shouted, jumping back. He sighed, turning angrily away from Aburatsubo. "This... This isn't right!" Takakura looked down. Why can't he understand that this just... isn't supposed to be like this, Takakura asked himself, turning back to his friend.
Aburatsubo looked down as well, and sighed. "It's just not fair..." He looked up, touching Takakura's face. "I...Wasn't I the first member of the Magic User's Club? Haven't I always been here for you? Don't I... Don't I have any right to you... Takeo-kun? What more do you want me to do?"
Takakura looked into Aburatsubo's green, teary, eyes. His friend looked so fragile, so childish, as he was nearly crying before him. Despite his height advantage, Aburatsubo still managed to look quite feminine, wearing his club uniform: the tight, white shorts and sleeveless shirt showing off his thin, athletic, shapely frame. Takakura couldn't help but feel pity for his friend. This still isn't right, Takeo, Takakura told himself. You're not supposed to feel like this! He's just your friend!
Â
"Ayanojyo-" he tried out the next word-"Kun." The magenta haired boy looked hopeful for a moment. "I... I apologize, for being so harsh. It's just that... It doesn't seem right that you make me...feel...like...err...that." Takakura stared at his feet, fearing the reaction from Aburatsubo.
"Takeo-kun," Aburatsubo said, his eyes clearing up. He walked forward, embracing Takakura, pressing their bodies together. It was awkward for a moment--both of them so intimately close--as Takakura slowly, reluctantly, returned the embrace, sliding his hands under the baggy cape Aburatsubo wore, touching Ayanojyo's slender body. Aburatsubo smiled for a moment, and leaned forward, brushing his face against Takakura's and whispered in his ear again.
"Takeo-kun... I never thought you--" he smiled "--cared." The last word he said was sighed in adoration. Aburatsubo brushed his lips against Takakura's skin, as he pulled away to look into the leader's eyes. "Sempai."
"Aya...kun," Takakura said slowly. I didn't realize... that Aburatsubo cares for me in such a...romantic way... Takakura looked up at him. He had expected, upon his consent--if it could be called that--that Aburatsubo would immediately tackle him, in hopes of molesting him, or some similar fate. To his surprise, Aburatsubo only leaned forward, slowly, and kissed him gently, as though he would break if he used too much pressure.
Â
Takakura froze. It was the first time anyone's lips had ever met his in such a romantic context. His eyes fell shut, letting Aya's lips press softly against his own. He submerged himself in a sea of fantasies--Sawanoguchi and he, Aikawa and he, even Mizuha and he, kissing in a romantic embrace--before he surfaced and realized whom he was kissing. However, he felt as though he was lost in instinct, lost in Aya's sweet tender kiss, to pull away. Maybe just this once, Takakura thought,Maybe if I humor him this once, it'll all be over...
Â
Takakura returned the kiss after a moment, allowing Aburatsubo's tongue to enter his mouth. Aburatsubo pushed inside, gently brushing his tongue against Takakura's. His dreams were finally coming true: Takakura was beginning to understand what he had been feeling like all along. Maybe now... Now he値l understand. Maybe now Takeo will realize that it can work out between us, Aburatsubo thought.
Neither could believe how it felt: Takakura, nor Aburatsubo, knew what it was like to kiss another person, let alone another male. However, neither of them expected it to feel so...right. Even if it was only for these few fleeting moments, it was all right, because the other was there.

They stood there, embracing one another, their tongues nervously exploring each other's mouth. Aburatsubo found his hands roaming over Takakura's back, pulling him closer, as their kiss deepened. Their bodies pressed against one another, both of them lost in the emotion of the moment. Takakura could feel Aburatsubo's heat brushing against him, both of them getting worse with every movement of their tongues. Aburatsubo pushed the smaller boy against the wall of the room, and let his hands wander over Takakura's chest. Takeo blushed a deep crimson, feeling Aburatsubo's hands tracing down the center of his body, getting closer, and closer to touching him most intimately, and then--
"I don't know WHY we're going to this stupid meeting, Sae!" Nanaka's voice sounded from the end of the hallway. The door closed, and footsteps were approaching the door of the Magic User's Club meeting room. Aburatsubo frowned, pulling away from Takakura-kun, and turning away. Did I just・ he asked himself, breathing deeply.
"This is so like them to arrive now," Aburatsubo muttered to himself, flipping his hair out of his eyes, trying to shift back into his public persona. He turned to Takakura, who was straightening his glasses, looking down. There seemed to be something of a frown on his face.
"Ayanojyo-kun," Takakura whispered, looked to him. "Did we just...? Was I, just now... Are you...?" Aburatsubo looked to him.
"Nanaka!" Sae could be heard squeaking. "Don't you understand how important this is? We're saving the world--that's SO much more important than going shopping! Besides..." The rest of her sentence was a muffled whisper.
"Do you...regret what you've done, Takeo-kun?" he asked, feeling hurt. Maybe he did impose too much on him-Takakura had never allowed anything like this before--what had changed his mind in this instance?
"No...not・eally, Ayanojyo. It's just that"- Takeo looked into his jade coloured eyes-"I'm just a little confused right now, okay? Give me a little time・lright?" Takakura wiped the sweat from his forehead, and straightened out his uniform. Aburatsubo frowned a bit, turning to the door.
"Sae!" Nanaka yelled as she threw the door open, running right into Aburatsubo. "I do not-"
Â
Aburatsubo stood in the doorway, already calm and collected, as usual. Nanaka looked up to him, and turned a shade of red brighter than Sae's uniform.
"Why, hello there Aburatsubo-sempai!" Nanaka said, waving to him, trying to hide her embarrassment. Sae entered behind her.
"Sorry we're late!" Sae added. She bowed low to Takakura. "I'm very sorry, Takakura-sempai, but I had to talk Nanaka into coming!"
"Sae!" Nanaka growled, glaring.
The two girls argued. Takakura looked to Aburatsubo. The taller, magenta haired boy looked to Takeo. "Later" he mouthed. Takakura blushed and cleared his throat.
"Now, now! I call this...delayed...meeting of the Magic User's Club to order!" Takakura stated, getting the attention of the still-arguing Sae and Nanaka. "Now, where's Akane? Wasn't she going to come today?"
"I dunno..." Sae said. "She said she would come today. Only that she would be late-she had to meet this boy for coffee, and..." Takakura sighed.
"Never mind." Something told him that this was going to be a long meeting.
