Pain and a New Place

The rain poured down outside as Usagi stared blankly out at the water from the bridge she was standing on. 'Why?' she asked herself for the hundredth time that night. Tears spilled over her eyes as memories from only hours before filled her mind and she again felt dirty… so dirty.

It had been a few days ago that she had realized that she didn't harbor the same feelings for Chiba Mamoru as she had used to. It was only destiny that was holding her to the man she had once loved with all of her being. Now she felt only friendly feelings towards him and hoped that he would understand. Chibi-Usa wasn't in any danger of the relationship ending because she would be born no matter who she was with. This information was given to her by Pluto a few years ago which seemed strange to her at the time because she had thought that her and Mamoru would be together forever.

Making up her mind, she yelled to her mom that she would be home later and made her way to Mamoru's apartment.

Upon reaching his door, she reached up her hand to knock but stopped when a chill ran up her spine. Shivering some, she only muttered a ,"Weird," and knocked. She heard soft cursing coming from the other side of the door and quirked an eyebrow when Mamoru opened the door with an annoyed expression on his face. It quickly disappeared though as he saw who it was and smiled. "Usako, what a surprise! Come on in."

She nodded her head and stepped into his small home. Looking around she noticed clothes strewn all over the place and saw that some of the furniture was overturned. Dishes were piled in the sink and the furniture that wasn't overturned had so much dust on it that she could probably make a 'dust castle'. Merely raising an eyebrow in question she looked at him and he coughed. "Eh…I'm just cleaning everything out," he said quickly. "So, what's up? I didn't expect you to be coming over."

She didn't even attempt to smile and saw his slowly slide off of his face. "I think we should sit down Mamoru," she said and walked over to one of the couches, throwing some of the clothes to side so she could sit, him doing the same.

Once they were both done, Mamoru looked at her uncertainly as if he knew what was coming. "You know you can tell me anything Usako," he said grabbing her hands in his. Nodding, she pulled her hands away from him and saw his smile slip totally off of his face to be replaced with a frown. Taking a deep breath, she cleared her mind and looked him in the eye. "You know I love you right?" she asked and he nodded. Seeing him about to say something, she put up her hand, "Please, let me finish. I do love you Mamoru, but I'm not in love with you anymore. I only realized it a little bit ago, but I really love you more as my friend or older brother."

She looked up to his face to see his reaction and was surprised at what she saw. She had expected to see hurt and maybe betrayal, but the look of pure anger and hatred coming from him was definitely anything but. "Mamoru?" she asked a little uneasy with his heated glare.

She was about to say something again when his voice broke the silence between them. "No."

"No?" she asked, getting more uncomfortable by the minute. The chill seemed to have come back and her whole body seemed to be numb

She gasped as he suddenly bolted to his feet and towered over her, his hands going to her each of her shoulders. "Did you really think that I was staying with you all this time just because we're 'in love'? Wrong again Usagi, just as usual. It's bad enough that I can't even get laid by my own girlfriend and have to get some from other little high school students."

Her eyes widened at his words and she tried to push him away from her but his arms held fast. Hardening her eyes she glared up at him, "Let me go Mamoru."

He only grinned at her wickedly and leaned in closer to her. Refusing to show him her fear, she only backed away from him as much as she could with the couch behind her. "Let me go, this is the last time I'll ask you."

He let lose a loud laugh before glaring down at her again, "Or what? Just think Usagi, none of the senshi are here to help you. And none of them believe that you're in any danger with me, so even if any of them knew you were here, they wouldn't think anything of it. Face it, you're all alone and no ones going to be helping you any time soon. Now, enough of the small talk, we have some business to attend to."

Before she could even think of anything to say, his mouth was on hers and forcing her lips to part with his tongue. She squirmed and pushed at him but to no avail. His hands that were just pushing into her shoulders were now all over her body, groping and pinching, leaving marks all over her once unblemished skin.

Her mind was screaming at her as her clothes all slowly disappeared and was left only in her panties. Tears were running down her face now more than ever as what was going to happen to her fully hit her. Flashes of her friends faces flew before her eyes as Mamoru removed his clothes. His mouth never left hers making it impossible to scream. She did scream into his mouth, however, as he jammed a finger into her channel roughly. When her underwear had come off she would never know, but she cried harder as he forced another finger into her and pinched her nipples harder. She was slowly giving up as her mind started to get hazy but was still aware of any chances she might get to get away from him.

She got it when he moved his legs around to get a comfortable position above her. Usagi took a chance and kicked upwards and connected with her target. As Mamoru doubled over in pain, she got up and ran for the door, grabbing one of Mamoru's shirts on the way. Wrenching the door open, she ran for the stairs not bothering to wait for the elevator.

Her heart beat thundered in her ears as she ran down each flight, throwing the shirt on over her naked form until she was at the ground level and ran out the front doors. It was already dark outside as she ran down the streets, people looking at her weirdly but not saying anything. Still running, she saw that the arcade was still open and ran for it.

Once she was inside, she saw that no one was there and sighed with relief and slid down the doors, tears still falling freely. "Sorry but we're closed now," said a familiar voice. Looking up, she saw Motoki coming out of the back room and stifled a sob. "Usagi?" he asked.

Seeing her beat up form, he ran towards her but was stopped as she started to scream and back away from him and into the corner. "Usagi, what's wrong? Calm down, I'm not going to hurt you."

Usagi's eyes were wide with fear as Motoki stopped walking towards her and bent down to the ground with his arms up in a surrender like position. "Usagi, what happened?" he asked with worry, his eyes glassy from holding back the tears that threatened to fall from seeing his best friend like this.

Finally realizing that it wasn't Mamoru but Motoki and that he wasn't going to hurt her, she collapsed into his arms and started sobbing. His arms went around her protectively and he started to stroke her hair and whisper comforting words to her. She didn't even noticed that they weren't in the arcade any more, but in the small apartment above the arcade that Motoki lived in.

He set her small frame on the bed and tried to go get her a glass of water, but she wouldn't let go of him. Sighing, he sat next to her and hugged her closer to himself. After a while, she started to calm down and her sobs subsided to small sniffles until finally, she stopped crying altogether. Looking down, he saw that she was looking at him. "What happened Usa-chan?" he asked softly.

He felt her arms tighten around him and saw her head lower so she didn't have to look at him. Removing one of his arms, he lifted her head to make her eyes meet his, and asked her again what has happened to her.

Taking a deep breath, Usagi muttered the only things she could get to come to her mind, "Mamoru…he…he tried…I just didn't feel the same any more and I told him we should just be friends and he started yelling and…" her tears were renewed as everything came back to her.

Motoki looked down at the small blonde in his arms in shock before he felt her go limp. She had passed out, 'No doubt because of shock and stress,' he thought sadly before tucking her into bed. He was going to have a 'talk' with Mamoru tomorrow. Stroking Usagi's hair, he walked out of the room to call Rei and inform her of what had happened.

Usagi woke up a few hours later and looked around the room she was in confusedly. It only took a few moments until everything came rushing back to her. Tears brimmed her eyes, but she didn't let them fall as she got out of the bed, her legs a little wobbly and sore.

She walked over to the door, opened it silently and walked out into the living room. There on the couch was Motoki sleeping soundly. She smiled slightly and covered him with a blanket before kissing him on the forehead as a silent thank you before heading to the door. She turned once to look at him knowing that she would never see him again and then left.

It had been raining when she had gotten outside so there was no one out on the streets as she walked down them. She had noticed that Motoki had changed her clothes so that she was wearing a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. 'Probably Rita's', she thought with a small smile. Rita and Motoki made a great couple and were bound to get married one day. She just wished that she could have been there to see it and maybe to have seen their children.

Oh well, it didn't matter now. Looking ahead, she saw her destination. The old bridge that appeared through the fog hadn't been used in years and its appearance showed why. All of the metal was rusted and had holes in it and the wood that had been used was almost none existent. She remembered when her and the senshi had found it as if it were yesterday. They had been battling a youma and were trying to get it away from the city. Venus recalled seeing it when she had first moved to Tokyo and they had lured it there.

That's where she found herself now, still staring out at the water. She frowned at the thought of the senshi. They were all her best friends and she would miss them so much. She shook the thoughts from her head and look back out at the dark water that looked so forbidding yet so inviting. Raising herself up into the railing, she looked down at the waves crashing below her. 'Freedom,' she thought as she let go and plummeted towards the water, her mind going black before she could feel the coldness that should have enclosed her.

Well what do you think? I tried to minimize what happened to Usagi so that she wasn't raped, but almost. Next chapter its going to show her mind set and she'll be introduced to new people.

And I'm sorry that it was so short, but this is just the prologue! I'm still rewriting the next chapter so I'll have that out for you as soon as I can. :o)

Please R & R!
