Gone is My Trust

As the rain plummeted to the earth, a lone figure watched as a young girl with blonde hair stood on an old abandoned bridge. Her garnet red eyes glinted as she saw the girl let go to what she probably thought would be her end and a sad smile appeared on her face. She suddenly held out her hand and a large key shaped rod appeared and a soft green light shot out to where the girl was falling only to embrace her in its glow. Her dark green hair whipped about her face as she brought the girl closer to her and away from the crashing waves below that would have ended the frail child's existence.

Slowly, her hand reached out to touch the other girls hand and she sighed silently. "I'm sorry for your pain hime, but now I will take it away in the way you couldn't," she whispered as she leaned down to place a small kiss on the younger girls brow. "We'll be seeing you soon."

A flash enveloped the area and the two figures were gone.

Harry sighed as he trudged through the damp grass outside of the large castle behind him, small droplets of water soaking into his shoes. It was his sixth year at Hogwarts and all he wanted to do was go home. Hogwarts wasn't the magical, fun place it used to be anymore. Now it only brought back bad memories from his previous year of losing the only person he could look at as a father figure. Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts, used to be able to fill that role, but the year before proved to him that he could no longer trust the old professor. He hadn't helped him like he should have and when he needed it the most Dumbledore didn't even spare him a glance.

He did wish that he had listened to him though when he was told he needed to learn Occlumency. It was his fault that he hadn't tried harder, and it was his fault that Sirius was dead. That's all he could think about these days. Ron and Hermione had noticed it first. His eating habit's had become poor, his grades had dropped, and when they left to go home, neither of them had received any letters except when Ron had asked if Harry had wanted to stay at the Burrow with him and his family. The only thing Harry's letter said was that he would rather just stay with his family this summer.

It was only a two weeks after that letter that his Aunt and Uncle started to notice his strange behavior. They were no longer threatened by him when they were mean to him. Aunt Marge had come to visit again and made an even bigger attempt to get a rise out of the black haired boy than the last time, but he didn't say anything. It was almost as if he wasn't there. And in truth, he really wasn't. His mind was always replaying the events that had happened at the Ministry the night Sirius was killed.

Shaking his head, he cleared the unwanted thoughts away. On the train ride coming to the school, Hermione had finally gotten fed up with him and smacked him clear across the face and told him to stop being so selfish. "You weren't the only person to care about Sirius, so stop acting like you've lost everything!" she yelled.

He only glared angrily back at her, "I have lost everything! My parents are dead, my only family hates me, and now the only other person who was like my family is dead because of me!"

Hermione's eyes had been downcast the entire time. When she lifted her head, Harry was taken aback by what he saw. Hurt laced with anger enveloped her brown orbs as she spoke, "And exactly when were you going to remember us Harry? Don't me and Ron count for anything?" she asked quietly.

It was at that moment that he realized how right she was. He had been selfish. Sirius had been a apart of all of their lives and with his death came a pain that they all shared but he had been too blind to see it.

Sighing, he stopped walking and looked out across the lake. A large shadow passed by the edge which signified the large squids whereabouts. Turning his head, the lights of the castle caught his attention. The first years were probably still being sorted so he had a few more hours before he needed to go inside. Fifth years and up were allowed to stay out later than the other grades so he didn't have to worry about Filch catching him out and about in the halls later.

A twig snapping behind him made him spin around and his eyes widened.

Usagi groaned as she opened her eyes and clutched her head. It felt like she had been hit by a truck ten times over. Blinking a few times she tried to remember where she was. 'I was at home and then I went to Mamoru's.'

'Mamoru!' she thought with a start and bolted upright only to groan again and clutch her head tighter. When the pain subsided a bit she opened her eyes and looked around. She was in some kid of forest it seemed but there was no sign of her ex-boyfriend/psycho. But hadn't she jumped off the bridge? Why was she here and not dead? Only one person came to mind and she scowled.

Pluto. Brushing her thoughts aside, she winced as she tried to stand and promptly fell back down. Pulling the sweatpants Motoki had given her down a little she saw dark bruises forming on her legs where Mamoru had grabbed her and tears came to her eyes as images filled her mind. Pulling the pants back on she tried to stand again only to fall down once more. Tears of pain and frustration filled her eyes again as she pounded her fists into the ground, the events from earlier finally hitting her and making her realize what she had almost lost.

Shaking her head she willed the thoughts to go away and wiped the tears from her eyes. Looking down she saw a small lump in her pants pocket. Pulling it out she realized it was her broach and smiled. Whispering a few words in an unknown language and sighed as all of the smaller bruises on her body disappeared. She was too exhausted to get rid of the bigger ones so she would do that as soon as she felt she was up to it.

Clearing her mind, she stood and looked around. 'May as well try to find my way out of here,' she thought while making her way through the trees to her left. It took only about fifteen minutes before she saw the edge of the tree line and hurried towards it.

She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding as she stopped walking and looked around. A large lake glittered in the moonlight to her left and she smiled. Movement from somewhere to her right startled her and her eyes spun until they landed on a figure a few feet away from her.

Her breath caught in her throat and her eyes widened. 'Mamoru,' she thought frantically as panic overtook her. His dark hair shone where the moonlight hit it as he stared back at her. She saw him take a small step forward and she took two back only to run into something. Looking behind her she found a tree in her way and frowned as her eyed quickly found their way back to the tall figure coming closer towards her.

She whimpered as she found that she couldn't move her legs and tears began to leak out of her eyes as she sunk to the ground.

Standing before him was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. Her long blonde hair was put up in two messy buns on either side of her head with two streamers falling from each one as her cerulean blue eyes shone brightly in the moonlight. Her clothes, he noticed, were just a pair of sweatpants and a loosely fitting T-shirt.

It wasn't until he took a step forward that she noticed him, but when she did, her eyes filled with horror. Surprise filled him as he cautiously took a step towards her again but she only took two away from him.

Fear found its way into her eyes when she found herself backed up against a tree. Slowly so as not to startle her more, he walked towards her with his hands in front of him in a surrender-like position. Upon hearing her whimper he stopped and watched as she sank to the ground and started to cry.

Not knowing what to do in situations like these, he did the only thing that came to mind.

Hearing his voice made her eyed snap open and she stared at him fearfully. "What?" she asked in a small voice.

"I said my name is Harry Potter, what's yours?" the boy asked.

Wiping the tears from her eyes she looked at the person kneeling in front of her. It wasn't Mamoru? But she had been so sure. It had looked like him a few seconds ago. So did this mean that she was safe? She mentally shook her head, no this didn't mean she was safe. She had no idea where she was and she didn't know anything about this boy so she had to be on guard in case he tried to do something.

"My name is Usagi," she replied in English. It was a good thing that she liked learning different languages, otherwise she would be in trouble. It had been the only class she had gotten good grades in when she was younger. Of course she had matured as she had gotten older and had taken things more seriously, but leaning all different kinds of languages had been easy for her.

"That's a nice name you have there Usagi. But may I ask where you came from?" he asked her politely.

This Harry Potter seemed nice enough but she wouldn't let her guard down yet. "I don't know," she replied honestly, "I woke up in the forest and just kind of happened upon this place, wherever this is," she said looking around.

Harry looked at her uncertainly for awhile before nodding. "Well, I can tell you that you're at Hogwarts, but I think I had better take you to the Headmaster," he said as he stood and held out his hand for her to take.

'Headmaster? Then this must be a school,' she thought with a little bit of hope. Maybe she would be safe…for now anyway. Looking at his outstretched hand she cautiously took it and was surprised at how soft it was. He gently pulled her to her feet and frowned when he saw her wince.

"Are you alright?" he asked worriedly.

Taking her hand from his she gave a small smile still not trusting him yet. "I'm fine, I just fell when I was walking is all," she lied.

He gave her a once over before nodding and turned to lead the way into the castle. 'She's lying, but I hope it's nothing too serious,' he thought as he pushed the large oak doors open and stepped inside while holding them to let Usagi in as well.

Not dwelling on it long, he tried to come up with some small talk as he led her to Dumbledore's office. He wasn't looking forward to seeing the old man again but what choice did he have?

"So where are you from?" he asked her.

"Tokyo, Japan," she replied.

"Oh, is it nice there?" he asked. Usagi only nodded and he sighed.

She looked at him from the corner of her eye and repeated his action only silently. He seemed like a genuinely nice person but appearances could be deceiving as she had already learned. 'I guess we'll just have to see,' she thought.

Harry stopped them at a pair of stone gargoyles and looked at them. He tried to think up an obvious password. "What are we doing?" asked the blonde haired girl next to him.

"Trying to think of a password," he said. 'Ah, got one,' he thought as he smiled. "Jellybeans."

He heard Usagi give a small 'eep!' as the two statues jumped out of the way. Turning to her he gave a small smile and waved his hand in the direction of a small staircase that was now visible. "Come on, Professor Dumbledore's office is this way."

Nodding her head, Usagi continued up the stairs after him, not prepared for what she was about to hear.

Hey! Well, that's the end of the chapter! I really hoped everyone liked it. Only one person reviewed my last chapter so I don't know how many people are actually reading this. I did want to say sorry to those who were reading this fic before I decided to stop it. I just found that I really didn't like it all that much and that it wasn't really reality based. Now I'm trying to make this more real.

Please tell me if I'm succeeding in that.

I'm sure some of you have noticed that Usagi is now being paired with Harry instead of Draco like before. This is because I have read the fifth book now and I can more easily use Harry's character to fit that of Usagi's.

If any of my information is wrong please tell me, I do except criticism.

NEW FANFIC!: As for my other fanfics, I'm still trying to write them but I have major writers block. I'm also writing another Harry Potter fanfic but I'm actually writing it out. It's easier I think because I can write whenever I want to without having to turn on my computer (even though it's on most of the time anyway). That one, however, is not coming out until it's totally finished and the only thing I have to do it type it up.

For my other one's though, everyone will have to wait because not only do I have to work, I have soccer and band to deal with as well. School is going to be extra hard too this year so this one might even be put on hold for a little. I do try to get these chapters out as fast as I can but it's hard to find the time to write them out.

Thanks for being patient with me and keep reading!

R & R!!!
