the door opened and Peorth bursted into the room, saying "Josh, we've got to go back to the temple, something big's happened" Josh stood up and said "what, what happened?" Peorth's eyes were wide when she said "Belldandy's having a baby, she's at the hospital right now"
"right now? we've got to go, now" i said as i waived a hand in front of myself, changing them into a pair of black pants, dark red shirt, biker gloves and a short sleeved jacket as well as a pair of combat boots. i moved my arm in the shape of a circle, effectively opening a shadow portal "c'mon, let's go" i said, waiving to the women. Peorth asked "what about the guys outside?" i said "don't worry, when i went for a shower, i cast a sound changing spell. y'see they still think we're asleep" Peorth nodded and said "ohh, alright" and then we entered the portal.
they exited the portal and fell out into a heap in the middle of the den. skuld came up them and said "guys, they're at the hospital in heaven. father organised special permission for keiichi to go there. i was told to wait here to tell you guys where they went, lets go" she grabbed a cup of water and leapt into it. josh cricked his neck and said "alright, this portal is gonna take a little bit more of an effort" he put his arms out and started concentrating. as he did, he could feel a massive explosion of power right before parts of the wall fell away, exposing a shadow portal "C'MON, LETS GO" they nodded and ran in. josh put down his arms and ran in, just as the portal closed behind him.
he came out of the portal and hit the hospital wall, hard. "ooof he said as he fell to the ground. he picked himself up and breathed heavily as he tried to stand. he stood and started running towards the main desk. he got to the desk and asked "where is the goddess belldandy having her baby?" the attendant turned to the computer and typed in a few commands before she turned back to say "delivery room 1 second left down the hall" josh nodded and said "thank you" before he ran down the hall. as he came around the corner, he saw that they were there as well; kami-sama, keiichi, Urd, skuld, Peorth and belldandy's parents. he walked over and sat down a chair next to keiichi, saying "hey mate, how's the nerves?" keiichi turned to him and said "shot to hell" they laughed and josh added "nice to know, just breathe easy. it could be worse y'know". right at that moment, the doctor came out of the theatre and wore a grim expression. keiichi stood up and said "doctor, what is it?" he sighed heavily and said "mr morisato, everyone, i am sorry to be the bearer of bad news. i'm sorry to have to mention this, but i'm afrad that miss belldandy has passed away" keiichi just stood back, eyes widened in horror before he said "no, no, no, that's not possible. she's still alive, you'll see" he ran to the doors but josh stood in his way "what're you doing, let me through" josh stood stone sold and said "no, nothing you can do will bring her back" "get out of my way. you don't understand how i feel. you couldn't even begin to understand, you bastard" said keiichi, right before josh punched him in the face, knocking him to the floor. keiichi sat up and looked at josh who wore an angry expression and was rubbing his fist. josh looked down to him and said "NO, YOU'RE THE ONE WHO HAS NO IDEA, you have honestly no idea as to what i've suffered, what i've lost. i've lost way too much in my life, i've suffered more in my span of existence than any man should, seen things i shouldn't have seen, done things that i shouldn't have done, and this is the price i pay for that. it's too much for you to comprehende, SO DON'T YOU DARE THINK THAT YOUR PROBLEMS ARE THE WORST. keiichi, my friend, i can bring her back, i'm the only one who can, but it's going to take time. doctor?" the doctor turned to him and he said "show me her body" "this way" he said, leading josh into the room.
"we managed to save the baby, but the mother died afterwards" said the doctor as they approached the slab, with belldandy on top of it. josh brushed a stray strand of hair from her face and looked at her face for a minute before he turned to the doctor and said "i'm going to do something incredibly risky. if it works, i want her to have her own private room. you can monitor her, but you are not to do ANYTHING to her, you hear me?" the doctor nodded and said "sure, yes sir" josh turned back to belldandy and began chanting an ancient incantation. as he finished, a cocoon appeared around her, like joshua's eariler one. he let go of the table and headed back out to the waiting room. they stood up and headed towards him "so what do we do now?" "keiichi stays with belldandy. kami-sama?" "YES?" "i need you to come with me" "ALRIGHT" they headed down the hallway towards an opening shadow portal.
