Fan Fiction / Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Agonies of Love ❯ Seth's Abuse ( Chapter 3 )
"Father, I have returned. They did not have the spices you sent me for. I am sorry," Seth announces as he walks into the house he lived in with his parents. "I shall return to the market tomorrow to acquire the items.'
Akunadin looks up from the papyrus scrolls angrily. "Did you even try to get the spices? Pharaoh told me you were with the General again. How many times have I told you that you are not to be around him?"
Seth looks confused. "I was not with the General, Father. You have instructed me not to, so I am not unless custom demands it."
Akunadin bridges the gap between them and strikes Seth across the mouth. "Worthless boy!" he spits, "how can you lie to your own father?" He grabs Seth's head and slams him in the stomach with a hard knee. "You should know better than that, or do you like to be beaten?"
Seth cries out in pain. "Please, Father. Please stop, you're hurting me." He tries desperately to pull away from the blows his father is giving him. "I can explain everything. Just give me a chance; it's not what you think."
Akunadin slams Seth full force into the wall, a sadistic smile playing across his face at hearing the crack of an arm breaking in his tight grip, and skull slamming against stone. "As soon as you have cleaned up all the blood you have spilled all over the floor and walls. Then, and only then will I listen to any explanation." He drops Seth and walks out of the room.
Seth sniffles and tries to stand on shaky legs. "How can he do this to me? I don't understand… I guess it's what I deserve for being a whore." He limps out to the well with a bucket and draws some water from the nearby Nile River. He walks back in to find his mother standing in the doorframe that connects the common room with another part of the house. "Mother…"
She offers him a rag to help clean with. "Seth, why do you insist on angering him? The walls are so clean where you have been scrubbing them, that you could eat off them. You need to stop this." She raises a hand to strike him, but thinks better of it when she sees his trembling form. "I'm sorry, son. It's just that, these walls are being cleaned an awful lot lately because of the beatings you get from Akunadin. Just clean this up. I'm trying to arrange for you to live somewhere else so that your life is not in danger. How about staying with Arivid? Would you like that?"
Seth bows and takes the rag. "I would love that Mother, you know I would." He begins to scrub at the wall with his good arm, the sticky blood resisting the rag's surface. "Please arrange that for me. I do not want to be beaten anymore, and I do not want to give up my feelings. Arivid said he would kill Father if I were beaten."
Nebhet sighs. "Alright, child. I will arrange it. It was time you moved out on your own anyways. I will go right now and tell your father you are moving into the Palace to be closer to Pharaoh. Meanwhile, you stay out of his way. I'll send the doctor to fix that arm."
Seth nods at her retreating form. "Thank you, Mother."
