A knock on the door draws Seth's attention from his cleaning. "Yes, yes. I'm coming. Please hold a moment." Seth limps to the door. He tries to put the rag on his broken arm, but ends up with it on his shoulder. He opens the door with a smile, which turns to a look of horror at seeing Arivid there. "No! You must leave before Father finds you here…" he hisses.

Arivid forces his way in the door. "I can take care of him. I just needed to tell you something about Pharaoh and what will be happening soon. Your father will want to hear the plans."

Seth sighs and closes the door after Arivid's entrance. He trots after the General briskly. "Just wait in this room, while I get Father."

Arivid nods and sits on a small cushion. "What I needed to say about Pharaoh is that he is getting far more violent. I spent twenty minutes with him and nearly had a broken rib."

Seth shakes his head and walks towards the back room where his father is. As he is walking, his legs fall out from under him, and he hits the ground with a cry of shocked pain.

Arivid jumps up and run to his lover. He tries to pick the man up by his broken arm, but stops at Seth's protest. "Seth! What happened? Why is your arm broken?" He pulls Seth into a sitting position by his shoulders, cradling him in a brotherly fashion.

Seth whimpers softly. "I fell from the roof," he lies. "Some kids threw a ball up there. I went up there to get it and fell. I've always been clumsy like that." He tenses hearing his father's footsteps.

"Who was at the door, boy?" Akunadin turns down the hall, sees the pair and rushes to them, shoving Arivid away roughly. He hauls Seth up by his broken arm, completely ignoring his screams of pain. "What is he doing here, Seth? You whore yourself out in my own house? You are a filthy, dirty whore who needs to be punished."

Arivid growls and holds back Akunadin's raised fist. "You will not hurt Pharaoh's High Priest! I have news from Pharaoh, should I go back and tell him you would not hear it?"

Akunadin glares lowering his fist. He drags Seth out into the common room and throws him onto the floor. "Bring us drinks, boy," he orders.

Seth skitters off to the kitchen. He brings back glasses of water, and sits as far away from Akunadin as possible. "Anything else, Father?"

Akunadin shakes his head. "No, son. You may relax now, while we men talk about matters that do not concern you."

The threat flashing in Akunadin's eyes causes Seth to recoil and scoot closer to Arivid. "Sorry Father," he whispers.

Arivid bristles slightly and exchanges death glares with Akunadin. He speaks with a tightly controlled voice. "Pharaoh requires your presence in the palace immediately. He is considering a war with the Nubians. He needs all his priests, generals, and trusted advisors. He asked specifically that I come to you first and impress upon you to go to him right now, so that you may discuss the ramifications of these actions."

Akunadin growls, but stands and moves to the door. He grabs up his cape and headdress. "As Pharaoh's most trusted advisor I shall do as he commands. Take my son to the palace and have him whipped by the guards. I will not take his using me like he has done in the past lightly. Good day." He inclines his torso slightly and walks out of the house.

Seth begins to cry when the door shuts. "I'm so useless. What's wrong with me? Why can't I ever please anyone?" He clings to Arivid's chest, his lips near the man's throat.

Arivid holds Seth tenderly, comforting him as best he can. "You please me, that is all that matters. I must have you whipped though that is not my choice. I will let you decide who does it." He pulls out a nine-tailed whip and sets it down on the cushion next to him. "Do you want me or the Palace guards to do it?" He holds Seth away, searching the azure eyes.

Seth sniffs and wipes his nose. "I-I want you to do it… Punish me for not following your orders and being a bad son," he pleads.
