Yugi- Spirit Blacksmith?!

(Author’s Notes: This is not part of my Ultra Warrior series, but something I just had to write! It is a cross-over between Yu-Gi-Oh and my Playstation game, Thousand Arms. I’m going to try and make it longer, better then before!
Darien: Wish him luck, folks.
Now, on with the fanfic!)
It has now July 22, 2003. It is late at night, and a lone light is seen from the top of the Turtle Game Shop. In that lit room, lied Yugi Moto on his bed. He was staring out the window, a very forlorn expression on his face. A year has passed since he and Yami defeated everyone at the Battle City Tournament, gained all seven Millennium Items, and the three Egyptian God cards. Shortly after winning the items, tournament, and cards, Yami was able to separate from Yugi and have a body of his own. That’s when things went downhill for the young boy.
Gradually, Yami started to take everything and anything that belonged to him. Yugi’s friends (Joey Wheeler, Téa Gardner, and Tristen Taylor) abandoned him and hung out with Yami more often. Yugi was always left behind and ignored by them. Bakura and Ryou, who were also separated, started to ignore him as well. Mokuba, Duke, Rebecca, Mako, Mai, and also his own grandfather were leaving Yugi behind to be with Yami. Serenity, who had her eyes operated on and now could see, also paid little attention to him. But, that was not the worst part of it. The worst part was that he was being bullied again, and nobody did anything about it. Yugi had a flashback now:
{“Please, stop!”, he pleaded with the school bully, Ushio. The bully merely chuckled as he violently punched the boy in the face. All the others were watching with glee, amused on how Yugi was pleading for his life. He saw out of the corner of his eyes his friends, who were just watching him and also enjoying the event from a distance.
Tristen and Téa were together, paying little attention to anything else. Mai and Joey were also a couple, smirks both forming on their faces when they saw him. Serenity and Ryou were also together as well. Seto and Mokuba were also sitting with them, a cold smirk on Seto’s face. Mokuba, however, just looked expressionless and turned away.
Yami was there, and he just stood there. His face not revealing any type of concern. He just watched his former hikari get pummeled. After some time, Ushio stopped what he was doing and dropped the young man to the ground. He was laughing hard and he stated, “Its nice to have my old punching bag again!”. He kicked Yugi hard in the stomach before leaving, his stooges following him. Yugi slowly started to roll over, to see if anyone could help him. Alas, all they did was smirk at him and walk away. Tears started to pour down his face as he slowly got up and limped back home.}
Yugi came back to reality, his eyes on the verge of tears. Something else was also wrong. Yami and the others started to hurt Yugi physically. During school, Seto would ram him into the lockers and smirk, knowing Yugi couldn’t do anything about it. Joey and Tristen also started to release any anger or frustration on him as well, pounding and kicking him good. Téa also slapped Yugi hard when he tried to ask her out to the school dance. Ryou also abused him, “accidentally” knocking him down and chuckling as he walked by. However, it was all nothing compared to Yami. It seemed the old Pharaoh was now acting like one, wanting his commands to be obeyed and also punishing those who did not meet his demands. Yugi remembered on how Yami first started to physically abuse him eight months ago.
{“Yugi, go downstairs and make dinner.”, Yami told him.
Yugi replied in a teasing voice, “No way, Yami! I made dinner yesterday. Besides, I don’t think your cooking is very good.”.
Yami yelled, “Don’t argue with me, just do it!!”. The outburst scared Yugi, and he didn’t know what to do. Yami looked at him, got up and walked over to him. Suddenly, he violently backhanded Yugi, sending him sailing through the room.
When Yugi looked up at Yami in fear, he ordered, “I said, go make dinner! Do not disobey me again!”. With fear seizing him, Yugi slowly went downstairs towards the kitchen. He gently held his hand to his right cheek on where Yami struck him, and tears started to fall again.}
He was brought back to reality again, tears forming slowly from his eyes. “It’s been like that ever since then. If I didn’t do anything fast or well enough, he’d punch and kick me before I could do anything.”, he whispered to himself.
The light from the lamp on his dresser showed that he had numerous bandages on his face, and also showed patches of skin that had swelled and grown black and purple. Yugi started to cry, sad beyond belief. Everything he ever did for his former friends at the Duelist Kingdom, Duke’s Dungeon Dice Monsters match, Rebecca’s grudge match, and at the Battle City Tournament… it was all for nothing.
He had given everything he had to them, including risking his life on more then one occasion, and they all just abandoned and abused him weeks later. He then started to cry himself to sleep, thinking, “Is this my destiny? Was I always meant to be a mere vessel for Yami, then to be abused after he got himself a new body? I’m I always going to be alone, not even a shadow?”.
Before he fell asleep he answered his own question bitterly, “Yes. I have no future or destiny. I am nothing, and will always be it.”.
Meanwhile, two people were watching over him. It was Ishizu and Shadi, the ones who once guarded the Millennium Items. Ishizu handed her Millennium Necklace over to Yugi/Yami, so they could defeat her brother, Marik. Shadi also relinquished his Millennium Key and Weights to the duo. The two former holders and guardians had been watching over the little one ever since Battle City Tournament ended, watching and also hearing his thoughts with a magical mirror.
Ishizu had tears running down her face, very sad for hearing Yugi’s thoughts. “Can we not do something, Shadi?! It tear’s my heart to see him like this!”, she told her brother.
Shadi closed his eyes, sighed, and answered, “I wish we could, but our ancient laws decree that we help no one but Pharaoh Yami.”. Ishizu would like nothing more then to comfort Yugi, but there was nothing she could do.
“I think… it was a mistake to hand the items over Yami. He doesn’t deserve them or to be called Pharaoh!”, she screamed angrily. Normally, Shadi would scold Ishizu on saying that. But, he merely shakes his head slightly. He understood Ishizu’s frustration.
‘She is right. From what I have seen, this boy would be a much better Pharaoh then Yami. He cares and loves everything and everyone unconditionally. But, there is nothing that we can do to change that, or help Yugi.’, he thought. He slowly leaves for bed, but Ishizu linger towards the mirror for a while.
She puts her hand on it, particularly the spot on where Yugi’s head is resting. She slowly slides her hand on the spot, thinking that she is caressing Yugi’s head. “You’re wrong, Yugi. You were never meant to be alone. Never alone!”, she whispers to the image.
She cried, her face now leaning against the mirror. After some moments, she slowly raises her head and slowly gives the image a kiss on the cheek. She releases her lips and turns to leave. Before she does, she gives the mirror a final gaze and she whispers, “Good night, Yugi. I hope you find your destiny and happiness soon.”.
In another dimension, another being is watching Yugi sleep. His image is projected through a large, blue-clear energy sphere, which is suspended in mid-air. The hands of the being are shown, the room being totally dark and the sphere being the only source of light.
A woman’s voice then states, “He is the one. His soul and spirit are pure, true, and very strong. Even after all he has endured, I am very much surprised that he is still in the Light.”.
Her hands then caressed the sleeping image of Yugi and she whispers, “Soon, little one. You will reveal your true stength and power to all. You will become a great man, and also a legendary hero.”. One of the beings hands slowly left the light, then came back into it.
Now in it was a small knife, but the metal was glowing the brightest of blue and reacting to it strangly. It was actually wiggling around some and making squeaking noises! “Even when you’re in another dimension, the Spirits sense your spirit, soul and mind. It is actually filling them with so much energy, making them stronger then ever though possible!”, the being said.
Then she finally says, “You will have power and strength, that the one called Yami can only dream of!”. The sphere’s light then dimmed down, and was now off. The room was now pitch black.
The next morning, the sun slowly rose and the rays were the first to touch Yugi. Feeling a warmth he had not felt in a long time, he woke up with a groan. He turned to his dresser and saw that it was 7:15 a.m. “It looks like I forgot to set my alarm again”, he mumbled as he slowly rose.
He got up and out of his room towards the shower. When he turned the knob of the restroom door, it was locked. ‘Probably Yami.’, he thought as he heard some running water. Knowing that Yami would take too long, he decided to skip the shower and get dressed. Slowly shuffling back to his room, he closed the door and started to get dressed. Five minutes later, he was dressed in his school uniform. Slinging his backpack on him, he turned around and left the room.
Walking downstairs, he saw that Yami was dressed and just leaving. “Guess he forgot to wait for me, not that I’m surprised.”, he said to himself.
He walked towards the kitchen to get some breakfast, smelling pancakes in the air. However, when he went in, he saw that they were all gone. His grandfather, who was working the stove, didn’t even turn to recognize him. “Yami must have eaten my share of breakfast again.”, he said as he slowly left the kitchen.
Opening the door, he left the Game Shop and slowly walked towards his school, Domino High School. As he was halfway there, he looked up and saw his friends with Yami uphead. Not only was Yami popular with his friends, but also the most popular boy at school. “I guess that my life is nothing, right now. Yami will always have it all, and I will be nothing more to anyone. Not even a memory.”, he said to himself bitterly. Some tears threatened to fall, but he tried hard to keep them in. It wasn’t easy though, with both his hunger and his sadness taking over.
Back in Egypt, Ishizu and Shadi were having breakfast while watching Yugi. Ishizu’s eyes were getting teary, and Shadi eyes were sympathetic. “Does it have to be this way? Does Yugi have to live this kind of life?!”, she asked her friend.
Shadi looked at her and answered, “That, I do not know. All I know is this, Yugi deserves much better then this.”. Ishizu agreed with him, and continued eating while watching Yugi.
‘Yugi, I pray everyday that your life will get better. It just has to!’, she thought as she watched the young man. Shadi looked at the mirror and also thought, ‘Do not despair, young one. I know that destiny has something grand in store for you.’. The room then went quiet as the two continued their vigil over the heart-broken young man.
It was 7:45 when the bell rang for the first period to begin. Everyone outside rushed back to get to class on time. However, Yugi was now just walking towards the school. He was in no hurry to go to class, knowing that the bullies would just pounce on him and the teacher would just scold him for being late. He opened the front door entrance and was about to go in the building when he heard a scream.
He quickly turned around to see some tall guys ganging up on a young girl. The guys Yugi recognized because they were the ones that took pleasure in beating him up. The young girl, however, was unfamiliar to him. She had long, dark brown hair that reached past her shoulders. A well-built body and also around Yugi’s age, 15. She was a little bit taller then Yugi, only about 3 inches higher.
Her face was also very beautiful, dark brown eyes, a cute little nose, and also small ruby red lips. Yugi saw that the girl was terrified as the group of boys ganged up on her. “Well, well. What do we have here? A pretty little girl all alone.”, one of them stated smugly. The girl was backing into a wall, seeing that the others blocked her escape.
“Please! Leave me alone!!”, she screamed as they continued to advance on her. All of them wore a wicked smile and were chuckling at her. One of them sneered and said huskily, “Make us.”. He reached for her and she closed her eyes shut, preparing herself for the worst.
“LEAVE HER ALONE!!!”, someone shouted. They all stopped what they were doing, and saw a streak of color rushing past them and in front of the girl. The girl opened her eyes to see a young boy standing in front of her, arms stretched out and making a protective barrier between her and the gang.
“Well, if it isn’t our little punching bag!”, one of them exclaimed.
Yugi stood protectively in front of the girl, making sure they never get to her. “Just leave her alone!”, he yelled at them. The girl was amazed that this one boy would risk his health and welfare to help her, and she didn’t even know him!
“Why don’t you make us, shrimp!”, another boy yelled out. “You want a pounding like last time?”, the other boy sneered nastily while pounding his fist in his hand. The others also did the same, evil smirks on their faces and pounding their fists in their hands.
Yugi stood his ground and said firmly, “I don’t care. I will not let you harm this girl!”.
One of the boys slowly went up to him, looked down, and said, “You asked for it!”. Suddenly, he violently punched Yugi hard in the stomach! Yugi groaned in pain and bent down a little. However, he did not budge. His face was determined to protect this girl.
“Not enough, huh?”, he inquired before punching him again. This time, the whole gang got into it! They were now pounding and kicking Yugi, who was now on the ground, taking the hits and blows hard. The girl stood back, as she watched her savior get beaten. One of the boys spotted her and lurched over to her. That’s when Yugi dived back up and blocked his way to her.
“Leave her alone!”, he exclaimed. The boy just knocked him down with a punch and all of them continued again. After ten minutes, they all stopped what they were doing. “Let’s go, guys. Ushio would wonder where we are, as well as the principle.”, one of them stated.
“Yeah, let’s go before we get caught.”, another agreed. They looked down at their victim, laughed and left. The girl, seeing that they were gone, went over to see if she could help her hero. She soon stopped in her tracks and covered her mouth, horrified on what she saw.
Yugi was lying on the ground, broken and beaten. His face was now very swollen and bloody, hardly recognizable now. His uniform had several cuts and rips in them, some blood stained on it as well. He was very weak as well. He slowly opened his eyes, groaning as he slowly turned his head.
He saw the girl looking at him and weakly asked, “A-are you okay?”.
She regained her senses and nodded her head. “Y-yes, I am.”, she answered him. She knelt down beside him and gently ran her fingers through his hair.
“T-Thank you for saving me.”, she told him.
Yugi sported a small, sad smile and remarked, “You’re welcome. Don’t worry, I’m used to this.”.
Back in Egypt, Ishizu was in a rage! After seeing Yugi’s heroic acts and his beatings, she was angrier then ever! “What gives those monsters the right to do that to him?!!”, she screamed out. She was furious!
Shadi, who was sitting on the couch across from Ishizu, shaking his head in disbelief. He was upset as well, but was concealing it better then his friend. Ishizu wanted to just go down there, and teach those bullies the true meaning of fear and pain! Alas, she knew she could not go there because Yami hadn’t summoned them.
Tears of pain and sadness were running down her face, as she saw Yugi lying down on the concrete ground. She clenched her fists tightly and whispered, “Please be all right, Yugi! Please!”. Shadi also said that same thing.
“I-I’m sorry. We haven’t introduced ourselves. M-my name is Yugi Moto.”, Yugi said shakily to the girl.
The girl smiled mysteriously and said, “I know.”.
Yugi’s face was puzzled by her look, and by her words. Slowly, the kneeling girl rose up and raised her head high. Suddenly, she glowed a bright blue! Yugi closed his eyes to shield them, seeing and knowing that his hands were too weak and limp to cover them. After a few moments, the blue light dimmed down.
“Yugi, open your eyes.”, a soothing female voice told him. Yugi slowly opened his eyes, and was amazed by what he saw. Where the girl once stood, now stood a beautiful young woman! She wore a dark green totally sleeveless top with a dark purple eyeglass on her left breast, dark green shorts with a pink/purple material cloth around it, pink gloves, long pink shin guards, light black sandles, a flowing light-green cape with small black shoulder guards, and a silver necklace with a bright red jewel in the middle.
She was also taller now, about two feet taller then Yugi. Her face was also breath-taking as well. Yugi saw a soft, and elegent face. Shoulder-length light blue hair, kind and soft blue eyes, and a small red lips. She stared at Yugi, kindness and tenderness radiating from her eyes. She smiled and said warmly, “My name is Metalia. And, I know everything about you, brave one.”.
Ishizu and Shadi were in shock and speechless as they saw the transformation of this woman. After a few moments of mouths hanging open and eyes bulging out, they snapped out of it. “Who is she?!”, Ishizu exclaimed.
Shadi shook his head and answered, “I have no idea! I have never seen or heard of anyone like here before!”. Ishizu now knew what to do. She got up from the couch and went over to the table counter. From there, she picked up a huge, thick black book from it. It was old, dust covering it entirely.
“Let’s see on who you are, Metalia.”, Ishizu said as she turned and pointed the book at the mirror. “Oh, ancient Book of Egypt! Reveal the identity of this person to us!”, she commanded.
The book then started to glow gold, then its cover opened wide without so much as a notice! The pages were being flipped through rapidly, as if a sudden gust of wind had just come up. Then, a golden beam of light shot out of it and flew towards the mirror. Shadi had to duck from being hit by the beam.
Once the beam hit the image of Metalia, the pages started to go by even faster. After a few moments, the golden beam disappeared and the pages stopped flipping about. The book then closed, letting Ishizu’s eyes go wide with surprise. Shadi got up from his position and asked, “Well, what does it say?!”.
Ishizu merely shook her head in disbelief and answered, “It doesn’t say! The book picked up no information on her!”. Shadi was genuinely surprised at this news.
“But, that can’t be! The Book of Egypt knows about every person on this planet!”. Ishizu then came to a conclusion.
She said, “Maybe this woman is not from this planet then.”. With that said, both beings turned back to the mirror.
Yugi was very much afraid at this point, as the woman Metalia knelt down beside him. ‘Who is she?! And, how does she know on who I am?!’, he asked in his mind.
Metalia smiled warmly at him and said soothingly, “Do not be afraid, little one. I will not harm you.”.
Yugi relaxed a little at the sweet sound of her voice, but still remained on his guards, even though he couldn’t defend himself even if he tried. “H-how is it that you know me?”, he asked her shakily.
Her smile grew a little and answered, “I will reveal that in time. For now, let me heal you.”. With a wave of her hand, she and Yugi glowed blue. Then, they disappeared in a small flash of blue light!
Yugi soon found himself back in his room at the Turtle Game Shop. He saw that he was in the arms of Metalia, who was holding him tightly and securely. She then went and laid him down on his bed. “Now, let me heal you.”, she said.
Her body then started to glow golden, then a green ball of energy left her and floated towards Yugi. It then started to encircle him and travel down his body from his head. He then saw and felt his body becoming better. His bruises and scars from all of those beatings, from yesterday and today, disappeared! His skin was no longer swelled up and discolored! Even the blood that was on him had vanished as well!
He also felt his strength returning to him. After the ball traveled completely down, it vanished and Metalia’s glow died down. She opened her eyes and stared at Yugi. She inquired, “Feeling better?”.
He slowly sat up and answered, “Yes. I’m feeling much better now. Thank you.”.
She smiled and said, “You are very much welcome.”. She then made a little bow to him, which surprised him a little.
“So, are you going to tell on how you know me?”, he asked politely.
Her smile faded a little and answered, “Yes, young one. I will tell you everything.”.
Finding a chair in the room, she pulled it up to Yugi’s bed and sat on it. “All right, now. What I’m about to tell you, you probably won’t believe.”, she stated.
Yugi smirked a little and said, “After all I have been through, nothing surprises me anymore.”.
Metalia smirked a little as well and said, “Very well.”. She started her explanation, “As you know, my name is Metalia. But, I am not from this world, or dimension for that matter.”. Yugi smirk had vanished and was replaced by shock at this.
She continued, “I am from another dimension, the planet I live on known as Earth, like your planet. Only, very much different. I come from the continent of Myscatonia, a land of mystery and wonder. It is there in the Ancient Library, where I live, is how I came to monitor you.”.
Yugi was very much in shock at this info. “H-how long have you been monitoring me!?”, he asked her.
She answered, “For one year, actually. I have been watching over you since you entered that Battle City Tournament.”. She then added, “I also saw on how depressed and sad you were when your ‘friends’ and family abandoned you.”.
Yugi was now very saddened to hear his past being brought back up again. She then shook her head and said, “The reason I’m here now, is to ask you to come with me, back to my world.”.
Yugi then exclaimed, “WHAT?!”.
Back in Egypt, the two former guardians were in shock when they heard Metalia’s story and request. “I cannot believe that she’s from another dimension!”, Shadi exclaimed.
Ishizu also added, “Same here! But, why does she want Yugi to go back with her?!”.
Shadi just shook his head and replied, “We just have to wait and see on what else she has to say.”.
Ishizu agreed with him, but she thought, ‘I have a bad feeling about this.’. The two continued to watch the mirror.
“Why is it that you want me to come with you?”, Yugi asked.
Metalia answered, “There is an ancient evil returning to our world. You see, a year ago in my world, an evil man known as the Dark Emperor, tried to take over the world. He was leader of the continent and empire, Dianova. He created an army of machines and was in command of five mechanical generals, known as the Evil Mecha 5. But, he was foiled and defeated by Meis Triumph, a great and powerful Spirit Blacksmith!”.
Yugi then stopped her to ask her a question. “What is a Spirit Blacksmith?”, he asked her.
She answered, “A Spirit Blacksmith is a person who forges weapons and tools, making them stronger and better. On occasions, they would imbue a spirit into the crafts and they become more powerful and better then ever before.”. Yugi was satisfied with this answer.
Metalia saw this and continued on, “Unfortunately, when the Dark Emperor was defeated on the Moon, I sensed something underneath the continent of Dianova. Something evil, and powerful. When I went there to investigate, I saw something I had never witnessed before. I saw a room, which was sealed up tight. It turned out that the Dark Emperor sealed something up, something that made even him afraid. He sealed it was his own power, and then some others as well. When I touched the door, I felt an awesome, evil power behind it! It was even more powerful then the Dark Emperor himself!”.
Yugi was very much in suspense from her story. She finished, “When the Dark Emperor was defeated, his seal slowly started to wear off. Now, it’s only a matter of time until that evil is released. And, not even Meis can defeat it.”.
Ishizu and Shadi were pretty much in shock at this entire story, hanging on every word. “Can you believe on what we’re hearing?”, Ishizu asked Shadi.
He slowly nodded his head and answered, “After seeing on how she healed Yugi, I’m pretty sure she is telling the truth.”.
Ishizu then wondered, ‘If this Meis can’t defeat this evil, why is she here to ask Yugi to come with her?’. The two continued to watch, the scene now very suspenseful at this point.
Yugi was like Ishizu and Shadi, deep in shock. “Wow. That was pretty intense, Metalia.”, he told her.
Metalia then gave him a deep stare and said, “It is. Even as I speak, the seal is slowly wearing off. It will not be long until the evil is unleashed upon the world.”.
Yugi then asked, “Then, why do you want me to come with you?”.
Metalia’s eyes then turned to pleading when she answered, “Because you are the only one who could battle against it! You are the only one who could defeat this evil!”.
Yugi was no longer in shock, but in a stupor. “M-Me?!”, he exclaimed.
Metalia explained, “Yes, you. You see, you have a mind, spirit, and soul that are so pure and true. It is the only thing powerful enough to go against that monstrous evil!”.
Yugi then asked, “But, how is that going to stop this evil?!”.
Metalia sighed and answered, “You will know that, if you decide to come with me.”.
Yugi then pulled himself together, and was in deep thought about this. Metalia looked at him with pleading eyes and pleaded, “Please, my world will cease to exist if you don’t come help us.”.
After much debating with himself, Yugi got up off the bed and looked Metalia in the eye. “It is against my judgment to turn away from people when they need help. So, I will go with you.”, he told her.
Metalia had a warm smile on and hugged Yugi tight. “Thank you, brave one.”, she whispered to him.
Yugi blushed a little at this. “And, don’t worry about the others. They think I don’t exist, so they won’t worry about me once I’m gone.”, he told her when she released him.
Her warm smile then disappeared, and was replaced with a sympathetic one. “I understand.”, she said. Yugi then started to pack some stuff in his backpack, and went to Metalia.
“Okay, I’m all set.”, he said. Metalia then focused her powers, and started to glow bright blue! It enveloped the duo, then there was a flash of light! After it died down, the room was empty. They had disappeared.
(Author’s Notes: This is a combination of Chapters 1-3. I will combine more to make shorter chapters, and also tweak them a bit to make them more… appealing.
