Chapter five:

`That bar fight wasn't supposed to happen.' Hiei thought as he carried a very tired Kagome to Diagon Ally and back to their room at Hogwarts. `I'll have to go and tell everyone to cancel it for tonight.' He laid her in the bed and ran off down the stairs.

*Kurama,* Hiei mentally called.

*Yes, what is it Hiei? Is Kagome with you?*

*No, there was a bar fight and some vampires attack so she tired. Tell the other's I'm coming down and I'm going to clean up everything.* Hiei sighed and opened the doors to the dinning hall. "You've already taken down most of the decorations?!" He said to Kurama. "I could have done it…"

"You should go back up to your mate," Sesshomaru said as he walked up. "Kagome will want you there when she wakes up."

"Hn," Hiei said and nodded. "Alright," He disappeared.

"Kagome has changed him, and she's not been here for all to long." Kurama said and turned away. "He's happier than normal."

"She has a tendency to do that to people. She helped change me." He sighed and went to take down the décor in the corner.

"Maybe she will help Hiei realize he's not alone in the world."

Hiei crawled into the bed next to Kagome and sighed as he wrapped his arms around her waist and brought her to him.

"Hiei," she sighed and turned around and snuggled up to him. "I love you."

"I love you too, my mate. Pleasant dreams."

******IN HIEI'S DREAM*******

Hiei and Kagome just came back from their honeymoon.

"I love you," Kagome sighed and hugged Hiei tightly. "Um…Hiei, when would you like to try for children?"

"When you are ready love," He answered softly. "I think we should wait a while though," He said and rubbed her stomach softly. "I hope you want to keep it."

"How come you could sense it and I couldn't?!" She glared at him. "Is this supposed to be…?"

"It will be due in a few months; I don't expect you to believe me now, but you will see." Hiei smiled and kissed her lightly. He laid her on the bed and crawled behind of her and pulled her closer. "If it's a girl I bet she has my eyes."

"All three or just the normal two?"

"Just two, but I bet they are red."

"Probably… I'm sleepy,"

"Then go to sleep, I'll be right here when you wake up."

Kagome woke up the next morning with Hiei's arms around her waist and noticed he was still in his clothes. She shook her head and got up to stretch when something pulled her down.

"Where do you think you are going?" Hiei asked. "Do you need to take a bath? And if so might I join you?"

Kagome smiled and nodded. "Yes, I'm going to take a bath… I suppose you may join me if you'd like…When do classes start again?"

"I'm not sure, but I will ask later… Come now," He said and went to run the bath water.

"Ok," Kagome said and pulled a robe out of her dresser and ran into the bath room. Before she could say a thing to him she found her self in shock from how well toned and shaped his body was.

"Are you going to join me or just stand there?" Hiei asked and sat in the hot water that reached the top of his chest.

Kagome just stood there still staring at him in awe.

Hiei stood and walked up to her and flicked water on her face; she blinked and blushed a deep shade of red before stripping off her own clothes as he led her to the bath.

He sat behind of her and kissed her neck softly as he pulled her up closer to him. "I love you so much." He said and licked the mark.

"Hiei," she sighed and leaned into him; she caught a strange scent and felt something brush against her lower back. She reached her hand back and grabbed it causing Hiei to moan loudly and thrust up into her hand.

She blushed and let go. "S-sorry…" She mumbled and slid to the other side of the tub. "I uh, I didn't know that…"

"Its fine," He said in a husky voice. "I didn't expect that… I could have prevented it."

"Um, I really didn't mean to…"

Hiei swam over to her and pressed his lips gentle on hers. "I told you, it's alright…"

"But, I… That was like a tease!"

"Good, if you did that by accident imagine what you'll do when you do it purposely; my love"

"I Guess, "She said and allowed him to snuggle up behind of her. "When we do decide to have children, what do you hope it will be?"

"A girl, with my eyes; really I just hope she would have my eyes." Hiei sighed and rested his head on her shoulder. "I expect your grandfather would like to know when you are pregnant as would your friends and mine."

"I suppose so, but I would like to be married before I lose my…"

"I know," Hiei said cutting her off. "I didn't intend to take you until you are ready."

"Can we have a wedding when, I turn seventeen?"

"Anything love, now; we may want to get out we're turning into raisons."

Kagome giggled and scooted over then stood up with Hiei right behind her.

***************Later in the Day***************

Hiei walked through the halls and into the potions lab where he found Kagome debating with professor Snape about the properties of deadly nightshade.

"It is used for poisons and poisons alone."

"It is not."

"Is too,"

"Is not,"

"Is too,"

"Is not,"

"Is too,"

"Is not,"

"Is too,"

"Is too,"

"Is not!!!" Snape paused and glared at her. "Damn you,"

"Haha, that'd be my fox blood at work," She laughed and turned to Hiei. "Hello, would you please tell him that there are more uses to deadly nightshade than poisons."

"Deadly nightshade can only be used for poison…." Hiei said and smirked at her glare as did Snape. "But if you boil is correctly then it can be used as a paste of sorts for healing purposes for mythical creatures such as the one's in the forest."

"Very good Hiei," Snape said and smirked. "It's a shame you are not in a house anymore. You were a wonderful Slytherin."

"Oh jeez, don't I feel loved." Kagome said.

"Professor did you hear something; I thought I heard something." Hiei said and walked to the door.

"No, just your imagination." Snape said and walked out of the room. "Let's go get lunch shall we?"

Hiei nodded.

"Hiei!!!" Kagome yelled and ran after him. "You stupid son of a bitch, get your ass back here or I'll never marry you!"

Hiei froze at the seriousness in her voice and walked back to her. "You know I was only kidding."

"That was mean," She complained and looked down.

"I-I'm sorry." He said and embraced her.

Kagome smirked and wrapped her arms around his neck and turned him around and nuggied (how is that spelled?) him to the floor.

"You are both so childish." Snape said.

"And your not?"

"I never said I wasn't" He smiled and continued to walk away.

It was Halloween and Hiei's birthday would be coming up in the next few hours.

Kagome wanted to do something special for him for how nice he was to her and how much he seemed to love her. She thought for a while and ran to get Kurama.

"Hello, Kagome." He said with a smile. "Would you like something?"

"Hiei told me his birthday was today and I would like to do something special for the occasion but I need help with decorations?" She asked.

"I believe I could help yes, I will do the best I can with the decorations but I must warn you; I'm not good with them."

"That's ok, I don't think he would like a whole lot of something colorful so maybe a few deep red ones some, dark or regular blue ones and some black ones. Some of the teachers will be there I suppose like Snape and McGonagall and Dumbledore. But that'd be it unless the other's would like to come but like I said nothing to big or flashy so you'll be just fine with helping me do décor."

"On one condition, you set Ginny and me up to be mated if you can." Kurama smiled. "I believe I truly love her as you and Hiei do each other."

"Oh, how sweet; I'll do the best I can." Kagome smiled and waved bye to him before bounding off to find Ginny.

Ginny was in the library writing a letter when Kagome found her.

"Ginny could you help me to distract Hiei, I'm going to throw him a party and I don't want him to know. It's going to be just after the Halloween feast."

"Only on one condition; you ask Kurama if he would be my mate. I'm way to shy."

"No problem." Kagome said. `Yay, I get to kill two birds with one stone!'

"Cool, I would love to help. Just after the feast then, gotcha I'll see you later Kag, I need to go and tell Hermione…Only Hermione?"

"Teachers too."

"Gotcha." Ginny said and bound away as Kagome had before.

It was around five and Hiei walked up the room. A piece of parchment was lying on the desk. He picked it up and read.

Dear Kurama,

It seems that someone else wanted to be your mate as you did theirs.

I hope Hiei doesn't get mad when he finds out about the thing at seven. But Ginny is going to do her best to distract him sense it's going to take longer than anticipated. Well I got to cut this letter short.

Kagome.

Kagome just walked into the room as he set down the letter. "Hello, love." She said and walked over to give him a hug but he pushed her away. "What's wrong Hiei?!" She asked sternly.

"You, I made a mistake taking you as my mate… It shouldn't have happened… You need to go be with Kurama… Or Draco. He's been getting aroused when you're around."

"What are you talking about?" Kagome asked taking another step towards him. "What's wrong, really?"

"You are what's wrong, I chose a common whore for my mate. No matter I can wait a year for another, if there is one."

"Hiei, what's going on, you've never acted like this before when I talk to Kurama or fight with Draco."

"I don't want you as my mate." He said and turned to her. "I don't know what I saw in you. Probably aren't even a virgin like you clam."

"H-Hiei," Kagome said and her eyes welled up with tears. "H-how can you say that…I-I've been nothing but loyal to you and you know it. What did I do to make you upset; was it something I said or did." The tears falling freely now stained her cheeks. "I'm sorry for what ever I have done… Please don't be angry with me…"

"Get a hold of yourself wench. Don't lie anymore; I know what's going on…I hate you."

"W-what, Hiei…How can you, say that, just this morning you said you loved me. What's going on; why does everyone I love always belittle me or hurt me… Why, how could I fall in love with a man who doesn't even trust me?" Kagome collapsed on her knees as the clock struck seven.

"You better go to lover boy."

"Hiei, there's no one else I swear on my fathers grave. I do love you still and you are the only one." She stood up and walked over to him. "I'm sorry if you are too blind at the moment to see the truth, but you are my one and only."

"Take your things and leave."

"I will as soon as I tell the others to cancel your birthday party. If you read that letter on the desk to Kurama, Ginny wants to be Kurama's mate as does he wants her." The tears dried. "You should learn to be more trusting Hiei that is what may destroy this… And I am still very much a virgin…I still love you Hiei I can't hate you, but if you are going to act like this I don't want to be around you." Kagome said and stormed out.

Hiei watched her run out the door and the fresh scent of new tears came to him and he sensed sadness with them.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER?!?!?!" Ginny yelled at him from the doorway and glared coldly. "HOW COULD YOU SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT TO HER, SHE HAS DONE NOTHING BUT LOVED YOU UNCONDITIONALY AND TRY TO MAKE YOU HAPPY AND YOU THREW IT BACK IN HER FACE AFTER YOU TAKE HER AS YOUR MATE!!! YOU'RE SICK HIEI; I NEVER EXPECTED THIS FROM THE LIKES OF YOU!!!" With that Ginny ran after her sobbing friend.

"What have I done?!" Hiei said to himself and began to cry. (Yes, he cried…) He sat on the bed and cried into his hands thinking about how Kagome smelled and acted around him. "God, I really have screwed up… I've screwed up everything… Not to long ago we were even talking about what our children would look like… I'm sorry Kagome…"

Ginny found Kagome in the dungeons crying into her hands. She looked up for only a moment and looked away.

"He hate's me…" She murmured. "He hate's me because I love him, that's how it was with InuYasha; he said he loved me, but when I wouldn't give him anything he said almost the same thing Hiei just said. He said I was a whore and would do anyone just because… Then he said he hated me and tried to keep me with him o collect jewel shards but I had them all, and I ran then ended up here and fell in love with Hiei but he's just the same as InuYasha was…Only Hiei had a reason to think such a thing…I was sending a letter to Kurama and he took it the wrong way. Kurama wants to be your mate Ginny, just leave me here and go to him; tell him, I'm sorry but I've canceled Hiei's birthday party."

"Kagome, he doesn't hate you just before I was out of hearing range I heard him stat crying and blaming himself… He can't not love you Kag, he just can't… If you really feel you can stay with him to-tonight though, you can stay with Hermione and me."

"Thank you Ginny, I'll think about it."

Hiei stayed sitting there on the bed for almost an hour thinking about how he had treated Kagome and why it hurt so much; he figure it was because he still did love her but until Ginny had said what she said, he didn't know it was because she told him the truth and deep down he knew she was and wouldn't lie to him about something like that.

"Hiei," A sad and gentle voice said behind of him. "How, why did you say those things to me?"

Hiei turned around trying to hide his tears but it didn't hide the worry and sadness in his own voice. "I, I don't know… T-The letter just confused and upset me I guess."

"Are you gonna be ok. I really didn't do any of the things you accused me of." Kagome said and sat next to him. "I wouldn't do any of the things you accused me of."

"I know, I was just upset… Draco started a rumor that you two mated and I suppose it made me angry."

"I hope we don't go through that again, I do love you…and sense when do you listen to what Draco says?!"

"I got paranoid," Was all Hiei said and he looked back down.

Kagome lifted his chin and kissed him softly before standing back up. "Ginny said I could stay with her tonight if I wanted… I didn't know if you wanted to be alone or not so I told her I'd think about it."

"Please, stay with me, It seems like I haven't been alone for so long and, I'm quite used to the feeling now… I don't want to be left alone, I don't want you to not be my mate…Stay with me…" The tears streamed freshly down his and Kagome cheeks.

"I love you so much Hiei," She said and hugged him tightly and cried in his chest. "I won't leave you, I can't… No matter what I'll be with you."

Ginny and Kurama stood in the door way and watched as Kagome and Hiei snuggled up under the covers, in each others arms and kiss one another good night.

"I wish I had something like that." Ginny sighed and turned around and left with Kurama following.

"Ginny," He said when they stepped out into the hall. "I- I want you to be my mate… Will you?" He asked and kissed her lightly.

Her eyes lit up with joy as she nodded happily and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Yes, I would love to be your mate!"

Sorry I know it was short and it to me so long to update but my comp died for a bit the I had to recover everything I lost and then my disk that I had this save on flipped out and wouldn't let me open the file so sorry and sorry for making this chapter so mushy, it will be better next time, promise.
