Sweet Yet Sour Revenge
By Aviarianna O' Lorien
And much as I hate to say it, I own nothing of Yu Yu Hakusho besides some pictures I printed off of websites. And you will be finding references here to LOTR and Labyrinth and probably other thing, so remember, I don't own those either. But I do own myself, dur! It's a Mary sue of sorts, but it does stem in real life…though you may not get how and where and when right away…anyways, carry on and enjoy! And remember, I'm a huge Kurama fan, just a fare warning…because Kurama fans, may not like parts of this…
Long and wavy burgundy hair glowing red in the sunlight whipped about the face of a young woman, whom at first glance looked as if she was just barely 18 at best. Dark sunglasses hid her burnt orange cat eyes from the view of any passerby. She did seem a strange sight now that she though about it, she probably looked quite odd standing close to the gates of Meiou High School in the Japan of another world. But she stood nonetheless. Quite comfortable in her short denim skirt, light green long sleeve peasant blouse with the white bodice over it. Black tights and green lace up combat boots to finish off the look. Oh, and a few other things. A gold wedding band on her left hand, and a choker, then a silver chain slightly lower than the choker holding a gold ruby ring, and finally a pentacle on a chain that hung all the way down the cleft between her breasts. No, she didn't boast to be the thinnest of people either, but she has a pretty good muscled body for a person who was supposedly her `age' and she enjoyed that.
Then again, she also enjoyed looking like the oddball; afterall…she was a demon, well, sort of. Fact is, not only were her cat eyes hidden, but also so were her long and pointed ears. Her fangs would show, if only she would smile more, instead of this sad little lip line of a smile she wore, staring up at the school building past the fence. Why is it all the school buildings looked exactly the same? She wondered as she's passed more than one school, and they all looked uncannily like each other. It made her chuckle softly to herself. She'd done her research this time around…she knew, strangely to her though it was, that 3 particular boys attended this very school: Yusuke Urameshi, Kazuma Kuwabarra and last but not least especially, a particularly bright, and handsome student named Shuichi Minamino. Oh, and one `boy' who did not attend the school but was on his way as it was almost time for the school day to end; Hiei `Jaganashi' would soon arrive, and she would wait for all of them…she knew what she wanted to do. And gave a small smirk at the mere thought of it all.
The clock sounded its usual tone and students flocked out of the high school like there was no tomorrow, and rightly so, as it was now time for a well deserved spring break! And one our little burgundy haired hanyou planned on using to her full advantage. And much to her satisfaction, the three boys, oh, make that four as Hiei had just set down and started walking with them, boys she was waiting for walked out the gate, and straight towards her. The elvish nekko gave a feral looking grin and began to walk nonchalantly forward, as the boys were. And as they passed, her grin grew and she, in a very soft, singsong voice called out to one in particular "Yo-ko…"
All four boys stopped dead in their tracks 3 feet in front of her and turned slowly around. The girl gave a little giggle and tried to look innocent as she began twirling a black rose in her hand, she's gotten it from her uncle, and a fae named Jareth. The boys were not so easily fooled; even Kuwabarra looked somewhat suspicious. Thus, she gave up the innocent act, she wasn't one to beat around the bush as of late anyhow and her time here was limited anyway, and she had to get back to Lorien after a few months. Otherwise, Zuzuko would end up quite suspicious of where her little sister had gone.
"Hehehe…I'm sorry, was that the wrong thing to say?" She giggled again and asked politely, cocking her head to the side, allowing one ear to become visible, causing surprised looks from all four guys, guess they weren't expecting her to not be human. Too bad for them, lol. "Perhaps, Shuichi Minamino is better, or maybe I should just stick with Kurama?" She again mock questioned. "Naww…think I'll stick with Kurama, it's just so much prettier than Yoko or Shuichi." She finished looking pointedly at the green eyed, blood red haired boy in the purple uniform. This was so much fun, she could tell they didn't know what exactly to think of her.
"Who in the 7 hells are you, girl??" Hiei ground out, this girl was really getting on his nerves, plus she was a really going to draw attention with those ears now showing. She knew this too however.
"Follow me boys, and I'll tell you, which means I have to show you as well. She led them toward the alleyway close by the school, it was long enough to go back far enough away from the road and somewhat dark. Once they were all there, as the boys had hesitated for quite a few moments, she turned to them. "Firs of all" she began, revealing her cat eyes and hanging the sunglasses off of the long chain of her pentacle necklace, "I'm obviously not human, as I'm sure you've all been able to guess correctly, ne?" At the boy's apprehensive nod, she continued. " And apparently I know Kurama to some extent, as Yoko anyhow, with me so far?" She stopped again, then continued at the yeah's and nods she again received, " My name, for now we will leave at just Avi, and I am a Nekko hanyou, but my other half is far from human." She said smiling and showing her fangs as she placed a very annoying tendril of burgundy hair behind her left pointed and rather long ear. The boys again, nodded but said nothing. `Well jeez, didn't expect the great Reiki Tantai to be shocked speechless by lil' ole' me.' She thought to herself, which caused her to go into a giggle fit. Honestly, it was just so damned funny, they were shocked speechless because of her??? She couldn't believe it!
Kurama however…seemed more than just shocked, because this girl, her name, her race, seemed oddly familiar to him. He wasn't just shocked, he was downright shaken by the girls abrupt appearance. So he successfully, and quickly regain his composure, followed by the rest of the group and smiled warmly at her, if not somewhat awkwardly. "And may I inquire as to what the other half of you is?" He asked politely.
"Elf." Came her short reply as she looked at them all amusedly. Yusuke and Kuwabarra burst out laughing.
"Ahahahahahahaha!!! Elf? You're joking!" Yusuke got out between deep breaths. She just glared at him.
"Baka. Maybe if you'd read once in a while you'd have heard of my home for the past uncountable number of years."
"And just where would that be?" Kurama again asked politely, staring at the girl with extreme interest, he had a slight idea of where she was from, though he did not know why except that he though it was only because he's read a certain series' of books abbreviated as LOTR.
"Caras Gallathon, Lothlorien, Middle Earth. Thus the elvish blood that runs though my veins right along with the cat." She responded quite proudly, slight english accent returning to her voice. " Pity my dear Kurama, " she continued, "That you do not remember me, yet. But do not worry, you will, oh my dear kitsune, you will." She smiled evilly at him, causing the 3 other boys to look from the evilly grinning nekko to the slightly confused and very worried face of Kurama.
Avi looked all the boys over once more; it was time to take her leave back to makai where she's been staying with an old friend of her true parents. "Well, Yusuke, Kuwabaka, Hiei, Kurama…I bid the adieu! Namarie Tenna'San!" and with that she disappeared from sight and slipped through a portal to Makai, Leaving the boys somewhat puzzled, so they headed off to the only person they could think of, Koenma.
Avi returned to the small cottage in a secluded section of forest and was greeted warmly by another `uncle' who shall remain nameless. "How did it go Avi dear?" he asked her as he set about pouring some sake into two small cups.
"It went okay Uncle, I left them guessing quite a bit, and I think Kurama is beginning to remember me somewhat."
"That's great Avi." He said and sat down at the small table with the demoness. `I just hope you know what your really doing…' he though to himself. He knew very well how sour revenge could turn, even when it seemed so sweet at first.
