Chapter 1

Discovery

"Vega!!!!" yelled Sarah, Vega's mom, banging on his door. "Open the door this instant!"

Vega, however, was not listening to her.

Music was blaring on his headphones. The music, Earthen, was a hybrid of many styles, mostly rock and a light form of rap. It was playing too loudly for Vega to notice much of anything at that time.

I want to heal, I want to feel

What I thought was never real

He was lying on his bed, half sleeping, half awake, and half dead to the world.

I want to let go of the pain I felt so long

Erase all the pain until it's gone

Fürher materialized into the room. He watched the child for a moment, wondering why he was not moving. He thumped his tail on the ground, which, to no surprise, did not wake the boy. It did, however, send Vega's black cat, Inky, into a large fuss.

I want to heal, I want to feel

Like I'm close to something real

~Pilot.Vega~ Fury's dark "voice" broke through the music and startled the 14 year old boy.

I want to find something I wanted all along;

Somewhere I belong

"What do ya want, Fury? Geez, for whatever it is, you don't have to scare me half to death," replied Vega taking the headphones off and sitting up.

~Come with I~ demanded Führer

"What?"

~I need to show Vega something~

"Where?" asked Vega reluctantly getting off his bed and sluggishly walked over to Führer. "What's up, Fury?"

Führer transformed into a big, black, gaseous-looking "blob" in front of Vega's eyes a second later. It was then gone.

"Fury? Where'd ya go?"

He looked around the room trying to find his "friend". What he found, however, startled him. He was no longer in his bedroom. The ground was now cold, wet, and solid relative to his warm, soft, rug. The walls were equally as cold and damp. Darkness consumed everything else. Out of nowhere, Führer appeared and, again, nearly scared the boy half to death.

After a short, small yell, Vega said, "God, Fury, stop scaring me today. OK? No more surprises."

~I do what Vega asks of I~

"Thanks, but where are we, bud?"

~I must show Vega something~

"You told me that already, Fury," replied Vega. "What MUST you show me?"

~Follow. I. ~

"Fine, but where are you taking me? That's the one thing you have not answered yet!"

Führer lead the boy out of the cave they were in and out onto the beach. Vega gazed at the sight, half confused, half awed.

"Why-Why did you bring me here?" Vega asked confused towards the black organoid standing near him.

~Vega was worried and tensed. Vega was stressed, I wished to take Vega away from the worry and stress for a while~

"Oh, cool, I guess. You like the beach, Fury?"

~Sand-filled ground parallel to a water-filled ground~

"No, Fury, it's called a beach not a `sand-filled ground that's parallel to water'."

~Difference? Is there any? ~

"Terminology, Fury, terminology," Vega replied.

"Vega!" yelled Sarah still pounding on his door. "Vega?"

"Sarah!" yelled a short, silverish-white haired man with small, square glasses. "We have an emergency in the Zoid Containment Area. There was a security breach, we fear that the two Geno-Breakers have been stolen."

"Can't you get Atiel or someone else to investigate, I'm having troubles on my own," replied Sarah.

"No, Atiel is out, he had to do some excavation of an area today. There is no one else," replied the short man.

"Then go investigate yourself," replied Sarah in an annoyed tone.

"That's just it, I have and I can't find anything. It was not merely a glitch in the system. Someone broken into the ZCA (Zoid Containment Area), but we cannot determine who he or she is or where he or she is. You must help us."

"Oh, OK!!!!" Sarah said in a rather annoyed manner.

The short man led her off down the hallway and into the elevator.

A salty ocean mist sprayed through the young boy's hair.

"I usually don't like the beach, Fury, but on a day like today, I welcome it; it's cool with no breeze."

~Glad Vega is happy~ Führer replied.

A moment after he had finished replying, a black thing appeared out of nowhere and whipped Führer with its tail. The impact of the blow forced Führer to fall over on his back. Vega stumbled backwards from the two organoids (the second one was now visible as an organoid). As the organoids continued fighting, a blue organoid appeared behind Vega, grabbed him with her tail, and vanished into thin air with him. Shadow disappeared from the battle seconds later. Führer let out a shriek, looked around and, when he saw that the boy was no longer present, extended his wings and disappeared.

When they re-materialized, Vega flopped forward and inched its way away from the blue organoid. The black organoid, Shadow, frightened Vega when he re-materialized into the room. He appeared to look like his Fury, but he was lighter in color and seemed smaller and shorter. After they both made a few non-understandable signals and grunts to each other, they lead Vega into a dimly lit room.

The room was large; there was no doubt about that. It seemed like a very old laboratory, hidden to preserve any and all secrets that it might have. Computers, control panels, and other types of technology were scattered throughout the room. There was a rail in the center that circled around three vertically set, cylinder pods, each next to a small, dusty table and a near-ancient computer. It was a strange, confusing sight to Vega; he had never seen anything quite like it, not even in the Backdraft's labs.

There was something about the pods that interested Vega; they entranced him. He walked up to them to get a closer look. What he saw, however, frightened him beyond recognition; there were people inside the pods.

~Not dead~ Shadow instantly said, reading the boy's horror-stricken mind.

"What are they then?" Vega asked, his voice cracking and high-pitched and seemingly being able to trust his "captors" for a moment.

~Preserved in ice~ the blue one, Specula, stated,

"Frozen? They're frozen? How?" asked Vega frantically.

~Experimental Means~

"How can we get them out?"

~So you wish to help us then? ~

"Yeah, sure, whatever. Let's just get them out of there!" Vega replied.

"Vega Obscura?" asked a voice

The voice seemed familiar to Vega, yet he could not connect the voice to a face.

"Who are you?" Vega called to the shadowed figure.The figure stepped forward.

"Bit?"

"Heh, yup, it's been a pretty long time, huh Vega?" Bit Cloud asked.

"Yeah, it has. How's the Blitz Team?"

"Dwindled down to practically nothing," Bit replied. "Everyone except Jamie left. We've been out of commission for a while. Brad and the Shadow Fox left to create the Hunter Team with Naomi, Leena left soon after that to try and run with another team. I guess commitment was never he thing. Jamie isn't really a pilot, so we haven't had a battle since Leon, my Boss's son left. Anyways…Do you know why we are here?"

"They want us to help them get them out," came Vega's reply.

"Help who get who out?" Bit asked confused.

"Help the organoids get the frozen people out of those pods over there," Vega replied.

"What are you talking about, Vega? Rezo can you help me out here?" asked Bit.

~Is Rezo really necessary? We could have gotten the human without him, just as we did Vega~

~We do not need any more enemies, Shadow. Führer and Ambient are enough for me, thank you very much~

"Who- Who are you?" Bit asked, dumbfounded to hear them talking to him.

Well, we've looked every where, Steve, there is no intruder. Just face it, there is no one. It was a false alarm; a glitch in the main system," Sarah concluded.

"There is one place we have not checked," anxiously Steve (the short Scientist) said pointing upward to the catwalk.

"There isn't anyone on the catwalk," Sarah said impatiently.

"How are you so sure?" Steve asked. "Have you already checked?"

"No, I haven't but wouldn't we have seen him or her up there already?" replied Sarah.

"Never can be too sure, now can we?" asked Steve.

"Fine, we'll check the catwalk. After that I am going back," replied Sarah.

Steve hastily led Sarah up a set of stair to the catwalk. Sarah began to walk across.

"See, there is no one, just as I have already told you. There is not danger. There is no one here! Thank you for wasting my time, but if you excuse me, I can make better use of the time I have remaining," Sarah angrily stated.

"Hold it right there," said Steve pointing a small pistol at Sarah.

"What---What are you doing?" stammered Sarah.

"Sorry to do this to you, but my orders come from someone more important," stated Steve grimly.

"Be-Before you kill me, who wants you to kill me?"

"If you must know, my orders come from Atiel, but you'll never be able to do anything about it, now can you?" Steve said diabolically laughing.

He fired once. It missed.

"Oh Shit!" Sarah yelled tripping over a bunch of wires, breaking her leg.

"Easy shot!" said Steve to himself. He fired a second time. It hit Sarah right in here vulnerable stomach. Cries of pain rang out from Sarah. Before he shot again, however, a shot rang out. Steve fell limply to the ground, a single hole in the back of his head.

"Miss…Miss are you OK?" called someone from behind where Steve was standing. "Sarah Obscura? Oh SHIT!"

Sarah was still alive, but wasn't able to say anything. There was only thing her half-conscious mind knew; she was in pain.

~Do not worry yourself with whom we are. We must get back to the matter at hand. Namely the wakening of our masters~

"What can I do to get them out of there, then?" asked Bit.

~You simple fool, you must use the computer to begin the defrosting program. Then just pull them out. Is that not easy enough for your simple brain? I certainly hope that it is not, otherwise you would be too confused to reply. HAHA, I think I have confused the naive little human, now haven't I? What no reply? Has the organoid taken your tongue or are you just stupid, well, excessively stupid, for all humans can be considered inferior to the race far superior to them, Orgaoids~

~Do you enjoy listening to yourself talk, Shadow, for you do it far too much for any of our good~

~Yes, I do, for there is no one else to talk to, now is there? ~

"Someone has snapped er something," replied Bit.

"ENOUGH! Lets get started, then, for the faster we are finished, the faster I can leave," said Vega walking toward the first pod.

[Hm…. who can I give another *updated* shout-out to?

Zinou (must be first)-

I updated…AGAIN!!!!! Yeah, this time it is totally different, though. Führer was becoming too chummy with Rezo, whereas he should be barely able to tolerant with the organoid. A more hostile approach of getting Vega there, also.

"Thanks for letting me use Führer, but mine will be WAYYYYY different from yours"- Well later he will be not like yours. I shall make him tolerant of Rezo and the others, even if it kills him. Now the hard part. Keeping those frozen in character (Raven definitely, Van, probably, heh-no Fiona)

Again, I must state that Fury will be a lot tamer in this story. Maybe a lil uncooperative, but more tame.

Yeah, the beach scene was similar to yours. I had an idea like that for Sweet Emotion, so I felt I should have added it.

Set up something so something will happen with Vega (kinda similar to your "Vega AHBL"). Atiel will be happy for a while, but he shall regret it soon enough.

*nods* Yes, he shall regret it. :) I just love to torture Atiel, Don't you?

Sorry for the very late "update" (more like a revamp), but I am working on my story involving a new International Special Ops team called Echelon (Half of the name is from Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell).

I've given up on the Jamie is the bro of Vega thing. It did not seem very logical when I put 2 and 2 together, yes? I'll just have a history about his father being killed off and stuff.
