Round One:

Zoids: GunSniper Vs. HelCat

Terrain: Canyon

The sun was set high above, glistening beautifully like the day star it is. There wasn't
even a breeze brewing throughout the entire terrain. Within the crevice of a canyon, there was a
battle to be against two opposing Zoids. Many shadows lay scattered about upon the walls and
already darkened floor. Boulders rested here and there, providing a good supply of defense or
means of hiding. It seemed to be the perfect place for sniping.

Carved out of the crevice's wall was a large cave. Everything that dwells inside is entirely
invisible, swallowed up by complete darkness. It was here that the GunSniper perched, its back
facing the outside. The Zoid's anchors were clasped into the ground, tail lengthened and loaded
with a specialized sniping bullet. Being able to focus for many yards, the entire battlefield could
be viewed from such a location.

Meanwhile, the HelCat was out in the open, situated between two large boulders. It knew
well of its opponent's capabilities, thus made sure it had somewhere to squeeze behind, less the
Zoid wanted to be shot down instantly. The panther's paws scratched the ground as it looked
around, trying to spot the dinosaur. Activating its Stealth Shield, HelCat's body was cloaked
from head to toe, making it disappear from plain view.

Off the panther ran, hoping its stealth was enough to win over the sniper. It leapt from
side to side, avoiding an onslaught of boulders. A cloud of dust lifted in its wake, which settled
down only seconds later. Unknowingly, HelCat ran right past the GunSniper's hideout, who in
return didn't spot the Zoid. However, it did catch on to the dust, and its AZ144mm Sniper
Cannon followed after the source. The tail contracted backwards, having fired a shot at blinding
speeds. Its exit from the barrel was silent, but a flash was given off. Luckily, HelCat outran the
shot which was mis-aimed. The bullet crashed onto the ground, making a large hole deep into the
planet's crust.

HelCat came to a skidding stop and immediately turned around. Glaring at the new
smoldering hole, its view came across the cave. With no need to be silent (due to the Zoid's
Noise Suppression Equipment), the panther raced back across the land, leaping onto a narrow
ledge which formed a path. GunSniper, during this time, had removed itself from the sniping
position and leapt outside onto leveled ground. It knew that a clear shot was impossible with
such stealth capabilities. Its only hope was to try and hit the HelCat with a few melee moves.
Only problem was how to find it.

With the opponent now in plain view, the panther once again came to a stop. This one
was gradual, though, in order to reduce the chance of dust collecting around and making it
slightly visible.

With the opponent now in plain view, HelCat stalked its way closer. Its 20mm Cannons
slightly raised, taking aim on the GunSniper's chest. A few rapid shots were fired. The opponent
shrilled as it was slightly knocked back, smoke lifted from the impact. Luckily, the dinosaur's
armor could take a few beatings, and it now knew where the panther was (or at least the remote
area). GunSniper's 8-Shot Rocket Pods opened. From them, four missiles were launched (two
from each). They twisted and turned during their course, and crashed into the ground.

Having been in the remote area, HelCat was thrown back from the sudden explosions. Its
body smashed into a nearby boulder, snapping the back-mounted 20mm Cannon clear off.
Recovering shortly, the panther pushed itself back up. The Stealth Shield was failing, making its
tail completely visible. This was all the GunSniper needed. Both wrist-mounted Tri-Barreled
40mm Gatling Rifles blazed with open fire, which clattered onto HelCat's back. Wounded, the
panther edged itself on, and began running to the dinosaur foe.

GunSniper sprinted forward as well, body hunched forward to gain in speed. Both
pounced into the air, each made their own slash for one another. Sparks flew as one of the Zoids
had been struck. The two landed perfectly, their backs facing each other. HelCat's cloak
vanished, its energy had been completely used up. Seemingly victorious, the dinosaur turned
around to face the feline, but suddenly collapsed to its stomach. There was a deep gash upon
GunSniper's chest, by which electricity surged out. Having won, HelCat gracefully leapt around,
taunting its opponent with its cheery leaps.*
