CHAPTER 2
The old man scratched his pointy ears in distress as he looked down at the small paper laying in his lap. He let out a load growl and wondered what he should do. Someone had kidnapped his son, HIS son, and then they had the guts to ask for a ransom.
They wanted The Sword of Power and the Stone of Knowledge in exchange for his sons life. The most humorous thing about the whole situation was that it was his son that was the carrier of those cursed items. He rised from his throne and called out a name to summon the eldermen of the tribe..

I put the sword back in my belt, picked up the chain and took his hand, it was smooth and cool, almost as the chain. I put on the chain looked it and did the same to his other hand. I looked down on him and he looked up at me with a wide grin. Why would he be grinning? I wouldn't if I was in his shoes.
I signed, walked out the cell and looked the door. Why was he here? I hadn't heard of any fights between our peoples lately. Then why would he be here? Without noticing it I had stooped and I almost fell over when someone walked into my back. I turned around and saw the messenger, he looked terrified. Darn, my head must be up in the blue, I had forgot about him.
"oh I'm so sorry master Daijino....I didn't mean to...I didn't see you stopping.." God he reminded me of myself, he had dark brown hair but while he had brown eyes I had blue. He was smaller, I would say that he was about 14 or 15 years old.
"Don't worry, I won't bite your head of......what's your name?" his face lit up like mine would have done if someone asked my name and not treated me like an object, when I was his age.
"it's Milw Notir...but you can call me MN" Looks like I've made a new friend, good I don't have many here.

I was writing in my dairy, yes I can write, my mother teached me when I was little. Before they left me to "serve my king". I sighed at some old memories of my family and put the book down on the table, someone would be coming with dinner soon.
As soon as the thought of food and my empty stomach entered my head I could hear people walking down the stairs, was I hearing wrong again? It happens when you spend all day in a little room by yourself with noting to do. Luckily it was two delivery boys with my dinner and the two prisoners.
They put the plates on the table and left quickly. Not wanting to spend more time here then possible, I didn't mind. I sat down and started gulping down food, sorry but I don't have any table manners. My food disappeared to quickly and I looked over at the prisoners plates, yes I'm a bottomless pit, I admit that. The chief had made some kind of meat loaf and for once it was good, on the plates was also a baked potato, some salad and an apple.
I sighed, just 6 hours to next meal. I walked over to the dungeon door and opened it, then I picked up the plates and walked into the cell tunnel. I slid Buuns plate under the bars, he nodded to me and picked it up. I had put my hand on the knob to the elf's cell when a thought hit me. He was chained to the wall, he couldn't eat by himself, should I lock up his chains or should I feed him??
Well if I opened them up and Runne found out I would lose my job....and the thought of feeding him was kind of appealing to me, why I don't know. Maybe I was just going insane. what would he think if I said that I was going to feed him? I opened the door and peeked in, I couldn't stand outside all day thinking now could I?!
I entered the cell and closed the door behind me. He looked up at me with that wide grin of his, but this time it didn't reach his eyes. Was I imagining things again or was he much more paler now. I at him with what I hope was a cold Dungeon watcher face.
"Well I'm gonno have to feed you, my boss wouldn't like it if I opened your chains. " why did I bother telling him what I was about to do, he probably didn't get a word I was saying. I walked up and sat down next to him. I put the plate beside me, picked up a spoon, shuffled up some meat loaf on it and was about to shove it into his mouth when he sniffed the air and slammed shut his mouth. Well what was I going to do now?
"Well you know you have to eat I don't have a clue how long you'll be staying here......" he glared at me.
"I don't want to eat that!" he said with soft flowing voice, with a really strange accent. My jaw must have drooped to the floor cause my mouth got dry.
"so you do know my language?" I asked and closed my mouth.
"why wouldn't I?!" he said still with a smirk on his face. I got a little angry, now how would I know that he could speak my language.
"well how should I know?.....and why don't you want to eat the food?" I said trying to bottle up my anger. He was a bit annoying or maybe it was just my short temper.
"you could have asked.....I won't eat meat I haven't......." he stopped, trying to come up with the right words, I believe.
"I won't eat meat I haven't asked the animals for.....it's barbaric" I looked down at the plate, well that was what he believed and I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I put the spoon back on the plate. If he didn't eat it he would starve to death.
"well then what are you planning to eat?!" he looked down at the plate too and sighed.
"well I could eat the apple, the baked potato and the salad"
From that day, I would split up our plates so got the fruit and I the meat. Why he didn't need to ask the threes promission I asked him the first time, but he just glared at me. I guess fruit isn't that important even thou it's alive too. We spent much time just talking. I could spend hours listening to the stories of his childhood, but I mostly had to drag everything out of him. He never asked me anything so I just told him about my boring childhood when he didn't want to say anything.
His name was Raiainovon onin Silivei, he spent at least an hour trying to teach me how to pronounce it. He got bored after that and told me that it meant Silver Raven. He was some kind of a prince in one of the elven tribes. He was also engaged to a princess in one of the other tribes. They had to marry so the tribes could untie to one once again.

But nothing is forever, about a week after our first conversation, something happened. I had just come back to my little room after spending a couple of hours talking to him. When Runne, two of the other guards and a man in a black robe entered my room. I didn't see much of the man in the robe cause he was standing behind the other guards.
"Daijino, I need the keys to the elf's cell." I got a creepy feeling in my stomach, but I couldn't refuse him so picked up the bunch of keys from my pocket and handed it to him.
"Stay here!" he said to me as they walked into the dungeon.
After about an hour they came back, handed me the bunch of keys and left without a word or even a glance.
When I didn't hear their steps anymore I rushed over to Silver's cell, unlocked the door and looked in. A cry slipped from my mouth as I looked at my friend.
