Chapter 2- Who ARE you?

Kyo-Ken stopped growling immediately, not knowing what to make of the wolf- eared

stranger. The boy looked human enough, but he had golden hair that was spiked to the left that

almost covered one of his ears. His tail was wagging, and he was grinning, exposing two sharp

fangs. He wore a white tank top with khaki shorts. "What do you want?" Masakou asked

gruffly as he swung his sword toward the boy. He just stood there until the last possible minute,

then jumped over Masakou and pushed him playfully, catching him off guard. "Ha ha ha!" The

wolf boy laughed, "You're going to have to do better than that!" He turned around and glared at

him. "You die now freak!" Masakou yelled as he went to bring the sword onto the boy's head. He

just laughed and jumped to the side, causing Masakou to become enraged. "Ouch. That hurt." The

wolf boy said in mock sadness as he brushed a fake tear from his face. "My name is Argos if you

wanted to know." He's dodging my blows so easily. Masakou thought. This guy can't possibly be

human. He then felt a sharp smack on the head, then turned around and yelled, "Okay, who did

that? Surrender and I might not kill you." A girl wearing a green jacket and yellow shirt stood up

from the bushes to face him. "Who are you?" He demanded, and was answered by another sharp

blow with her staff. "I'm the one asking the questions here!" She said as she poked him with it

again. "Why did you attack my friend." She then noticed his sword. What a minute, it can't be. So

he's the one who found it. She thought. Argos then ran over as the girl motioned to him. "He has

it. Did you see?" she asked him. Argos' ear twitched causing the hoop on the tip of his ear to

jingle. "Yeah, but I don't think he knows." Argos then walked over to a very confused Masakou

and held out his hand. "Hey, sorry for messing with you like that. I was just joking around." He

said with a grin. "Do you want to be friends?" He looked at Argos suspiciously for a while until

he finally came to the realization that he would bring him no harm. "Fine." Masakou said as he

reluctantly shook the wolf boy's hand. "My name is Nikko. I'm sorry too." She said as she shook

his hand. "It was wrong for me to hit you like that." Argos growled lowly at Masakou. The three

were greeted by Kyo-Ken, who abruptly ran over to Argos. His tail wagged and his eyes lit up as

he got down on his hands and knees and started to play fight with the wolf. Masakou was about to

say something, but at the risk of being hit again, strongly decided against it. Argos looked at

Masakou and his friend talk a little,

and he got up and walked over feeling a little jealous, sitting down next to them. Kyo-Ken layed

at his feet. "So how did you get the wolf?" Nikko asked Masakou. "I found him. He was hurt and

abandoned." Argos looked into Kyo-Ken's eyes, muttered a few things, and looked back up.

"Aww. That's so sad. He said he got into a fight with an older male." Now Masakou was more

confused than ever. "How did you know that?" Argos smiled proudly. "I can communicate

telepathically with wolves. After all, I am one." He just arched an eyebrow and turned to Nikko.

"So." He started dryly, "How did you get your wolf?" Argos just let that comment slide. He was

too good natured to let much of anything bother him. She just smiled. "We've been friends

forever." Nikko told him as she put an arm around her companion, who blushed a little and

laughed nervously. "Nobody liked me because I looked different, but she saw me for who I really

was." Argos completed Masakou's question. "But seriously, you've got to let us help you." Nikko

told him. Masakou looked away and scoffed. "And if I don't?" Argos looked up and nonchalantly

replied, "We'll all die."
