Chapter 3- "Those Who Forget The Past Are Condemned To Repeat It In The Future."

None of this information seemed to phase Masakou one bit. "And why is that?" he asked

simply. "You see that sword you have?" Nikko started as she pointed to it, "About seven years

ago, a giant tiger demon attacked many towns and killed all that opposed it. There were two brave

warriors though, a man and a woman, who were fatally wounded during the fight with the giant

demon." Argos continued telling the story, "Combining their remaining strength, they sacrificed

themselves and sealed the demon into the sword you now hold. It was hidden so that power

would never be released again, but now that you've found it, everyone will be after it without

knowing it's true power. If the sword is shattered, the malevolent spirit of the tiger will be freed

And will terrorize this world once again." Masakou was quiet for a few moments, his expression

a mixture of anger, sadness, and hate. "My parents…" He whispered. "I will free this demon and

kill it to avenge my parents." The two looked at him in disbelief. "Do you have shit in your ears

or something?" Nikko yelled. "If you release the spirit we will all die!" She emphasized the last

four words. "Look pal," Argos said as he put his hand on Masakou's shoulder, "I'm a demon, and

I wouldn't even stand a chance against that thing." Argos' words provided little comfort to him.

"Then how do we get rid of this sword for good?" Masakou asked. "That's the thing." Nikko

replied, "It's impossible. We can't break it, if we hide it someone will find it, and other than that,

it's virtually indestructible." The three just sat there in silence, each one thinking of a plan. "Let's

go." Nikko said as she stood up. "We won't accomplish anything just sitting here." Argos stopped

and sniffed the air. "Someone is coming already. I have their scent. People are always going to be

after us. We have to always be on guard; ready to fight." Nikkou nodded and picked up her staff,

as Masakou drew his sword. Who would have known, that this sword could both protect us and

kill us at the same time. Whatever it comes down to, I will protect my friends. Masakou vowed

silently. Argos looked into Kyo-Ken's eyes, as the two silently communicated. "He senses it too.

He says they're almost here." Argos told the group. "They?" Nikko asked. "As in more than

one?" He just shook his head in silent confirmation. "Bring it on." She said with a smirk. Then a

group of three people started to walk toward them from a dirt trail. There was a brawny guy with

brown hair in his late twenties who appeared to be the leader of the group by his attitude, and the

other two were around the same age and carried a long piece of lead pipe. "So how did a maggot

like you get that sword?" Said the leader as he pushed Masakou back. "Hey look, it's a girl, a

puppy, and a freak!" The second guy said as he laughed at his own joke. Kyo-Ken and Argos

growled at the three as Masakou drew his sword into a fighting position. Argos stepped in front of

him and glared at the three. "Don't worry about it." He said calmly, "I will take care of these

guys."
