Brought to Light

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll say it just for kicks. I do not own the Teens Titans (happy now) and I don't own IHOP ether. But I do own a CD player and a computer YEA! >)

 

Cyborg is sitting in his bed staring at the white-blue wall in front of him pondering about just happened. He feels a tugging feeling near what use to be his navel. So he lumbers out of the bed and walks down stairs. The first thing he sees is Robin (freshly shaven, he had started to get a five o'clock shadow)

Robin: Morn'n Cyborg

Cyborg: (rubbing the back of his head) Morn'n

Robin: Sleep well? You slept for a day.

Cyborg: WHAT!

Robin: Well all of us slept in late, but you didn't wake up, so we just let you sleep. You were beat up pretty well.

Cyborg leans against the wall and groans. If Robin said what was true then Refraction had most likely been up to her tricks that night. Before she woke him up that is.

Cyborg: Last night, did that girl (pretending to be puzzled), Refraction…

Robin: Yeah what about her (not knowing anything,)

Cyborg: I was just wondering if she created any havoc last night.

Robin: Nope the night was quiet, well except for a breack in but the police handled it (shrugging)

Cyborg: Oh what ever just asking (calling to the kitchen at BB) Hey BB what do we have for breakfast--- other than tofu.

BB: Well unless you want some of Raven's Herbal Tea, that's all we have.

Raven: You have got to be kidding.

BB: Nope, see (kicking the fridge open)

Raven: Well then (looking at the tofu) We'll need to go shopping.

Star: Well then I propose that we go to the restaurant called IHOP for a fine morning meal

Robin: Well I can do that

All nod in agreement except BB

BB: (looking disgruntled) what's wrong with my tofu?

 

Scene cuts to the T- car. BB and Star are holding their hands out of the window doing the hand riding the aircurret thing in the far back seat. Raven sits cross-legged meditating in the mid- seat. Robin sits shotgun staring out of the window and Cyborg is driving.

Cyborg: Sigh… last night, well this morning…god… Who did she look like? I know that she looked like someone I know but I just can't remember…

Just then Cyborg looks out the side window out at the park. He sees the outline of Prisms sitting on a swing. He suddenly stops the car.

BB/Star: Uh! (They're hitting the seat in front of them)

Robin: Huh?

Raven: (opens eyes) …………………….

Cyborg taps at the computer then walks out the car, slamming the car door shut. The car starts to drive in the general direction of IHOP, with the other Titans staring out the window in bewilderment. Cyborg sits on the swing next to Prisms. She is asleep on the swing with her toes dragging in the sand. Cyborg gently taps her on the shoulder. She wakes with a start.

Prisms: Shadows No!

She looks up to see Cyborg staring at her.

Prisms: C-Cyborg? Is that you? (still groggy)

Cyborg: Yeah it's me.

Prisms: How did you find me, moreover were you looking for me?

Cyborg: Neah, wasn't looking for you. Just happening to be driving by. (Stands up and walks behind Prisms, then gently pushes her swing.)

Prisms: Oh…

Cyborg: (still pushing her swing) Yeah… You know a girl attacked the Titans two nights ago (stopping the swing) Refraction (looking strait at Prisms)

Prisms: How!? How do you know?! (Jumping of the swing on to the ground in front of Cyborg, looking like she was about to cry.)

Prisms stares at Cyborg, terrified

Cyborg: God she is so scared, but so beautiful, so beautiful…

Cyborg: The others don't know at all promise. (Walking toward her, arms down his side)

Prisms runs into him and starts to cry into his chest, her arms wrapped tightly against Cyborg.

Prisms: I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I thought (hiccup) that could control her, and I thought that if I could use my powers (hiccup) more she would subside.

Cyborg looking completely lost with the young girl clutching him getting his circuitry wet. He looks down at her and his heart softens. He gently brushes the top of her head and wraps his other arm around her waist. She looks up at him, his hand still on the back of her head. He bends his neck slightly down, and feels Prisms get up on her tippy-toes. Gracefully their lips touch.

Cyborg: This is nothing like kissing Refraction.

He suddenly feels Prisms pull away from him, then turn away to sob into her hands.

Prisms: I can't do that to you, not after what she did to you.

Cyborg: Why don't you just tell me what happened?

Prisms walks and sits on swing sobbing. Cyborg sits next to her.

Prisms: It started a long time ago when I was like five, I think. I started to play with light, just tiny little balls of light nothing special. It wasn't till a little after I had tapped into my powers, when I created Shadows. She was me just different we would play with each other for hours. Until I started to go to school and I played with the kids in my grade, my powers and Shadows were pushed to the back of my mind. The thing is my powers weren't gone, neither was Shadows. She grew jealous of me that I could talk and play with the other children. She started to tap into powers that she had. For years she grew, and then my baby brother was born. I was ten. I was so excited. Shadows took her final plunge, change her name to Refraction. It was about a week after Troy came home from the hospital. In the of the night I woke up in a cold sweat, I looked up to see Shadows standing in front of my bed looking at me I cold hatred. She said that I no longer would be the happy one that I would feel the pain that she did. Then she dived into me. I felt her enter my soul, and take control of my body. I watched her murdered my parents and Troy, and the family dog, Renee. I watched her burn the foster home that we had been placed in. And now we're here living in a group home attacking you and your friends. After she had attacked my parents I vowed to learn my powers and control them better than her. Haven't beat her yet the thing is she has a hard time coming out during the day the way that I have a hard time controlling her at night. (Finally looking up at Cyborg, who is wearing a face of total amazement.)

Cyborg: You mean to tell me that Refraction is your imagery friend from when you a kid?

Prisms: Kind of, when I made her I actually duplicated myself. Refraction would have been exactly like me if I hadn't pushed out of my life.

Cyborg: (Reaching out to Prisms) I'm sorry that… That had to happened to you. I promise that I will do every thing in my power to help you.

Prisms: Thank you so much (eyes closing, then falling asleep in Cyborg's arms)

Cyborg similes, picks up Prisms and start to carry her to IHOP, where their friends waited.

Scene cuts to IHOP. The Titans are eating in a booth. Star and BB having a huge stack of flap jacks with whip cream, strawberries and strawberry syrup. Robin having an omelets with steak tips, Raven having French toast with a fruit cup. A plate with the meat platter and a side order of hash browns. Cyborg sets Prisms down on the seat next to him then looks at the other Titans

Cyborg: You guys remember Prisms right?

Robin: The girl from a couple days ago

Cyborg: Yup. (Gazes at Prisms fondly)

Robin, Star, and BB look at the two trying to make senses of what is happening. Raven on the other hand is staring at Prisms sensing the darkness that has attached to her.

Raven: It has bonded but her darkness isn't her, their entirely too different beings. Very odd, very odd indeed.

Cyborg: We're going to take care of her for awhile. Cool?

All nod, except Raven

BB: Rae, you OK?

Raven: Yes I am fine

Raven looks strait at Cyborg; they both knew that the other knew that Prisms wasn't all that would be seen.

 

Aaah!! I am still really short. Sawy. :-S but I like to write short chappys because it lets me to concentrate on the problems of that chappy. Please deal nicely with me, and review please. Thank you Quickleaf!! Next chappy soon.
