Something is being written by a girl with tired eyes. Slumping shoulders, purple eye-bags, the limply held head, all show signs of sleeplessness. Why is she awake at this hour? No one knows, not even her. Every few seconds she stops and rapidly blinks. It will not be long before she gives in. A yawn. This is it. At this point, she will either give up and go to bed, or keep writing until she falls asleep in her chair. Slowly, gingerly, she sets the pencil down, picks herself out of the comfortable lounge chair, reaches over and turns off the TV, then the overhead light as she leaves the room.
It is bedtime in Alabama.
