Fan Fiction ❯ Between the Stars and Sky ❯ Skye Aeroth and the Ones of Blood ( Prologue )
Note: I took some ideas from Inu Yasha so don't think I made all this stuff up on my own. But the main ideas and the characters are mine. And well, most of the other crap is mine cuz this is an original story of mine. So don't sue me if you see some other things from other animes!
Prologue: Skye Aeroth and the Ones of Blood
In the village of Plantar, a fight broke out. It was the usual. One fight always broke out in Plantar. It was because the village was so divided. Nobles; the commoners. Boys; girls. One family; another family. It was a horrible place to live. Especially for the young man named Skye Aeroth. He was the victim of the fight today. Teenagers were still vulnerable in this town. The Ones of Blood (OB) was already advancing. This time probably for Skye trespassing on their "territory." The five of them were kicking, punching, pushing, scratching, and cutting Skye onto a bloody pulp. But then, there! He lunged out of the OB's circle and tore off down the road, OB following him.
He made it to the outskirts of the city and into the forest on the mountains surrounding it. He was surprised to find OB still chasing him in the forest. He climbed up a steep hill and knocked a whole bunch of rocks down on top of them. That gave him a huge lead. He kept running.
Oh my god, there's no way I can get out of this…. Skye thought rapidly. That's when he came to the tree. Now, it was a big tree, a very big tree, but then again, there were a ton of big trees around here. But this one was different, not because of its size, but of what it held in its large branches. It was a girl, about the same age as Skye's own age. She had short, midnight-black hair, and fairly pale skin, but the colors of her eyes were a mystery due to the fact that she had them closed.
"Hey!" Skye shouted at her. If he could get up that tree, he'd be safe from OB. But the problem was, the lowest branch was the one the girl was on, and that was at least 15-20 feet high. "Hey! Hey you! Up there!" But it was no use, the girl was either deaf, or…
"Asleep?" He looked up. Yes, he could tell now. Her chest was moving up and down in a rhythmic way. No way she could do that awake. Damn it… Skye thought. He looked around, trying to find some way of getting the girl's attention.
A shout rang out.
"Dammit dammit DAMMIT!" Skye shouted, now searching frantically. He finally found something, but he was reluctant to use it. It was a stone-and a perfectly good throwing stone at that-all flat and smooth, but it had a sharp edge. That was one reason, but the other was that, if he threw the stone, and it hit her, would she even want to help him? I mean, would you want to help someone who just threw a stone at you?! Nope, didn't think so.
Another shout rang out; closer this time.
Oh damn it! Skye thought. He threw his arm back, aimed, and let the stone fly. He saw it tear through the air, in slow motion. Everything was going fine until… he saw it flip; the now sharp edge was heading toward her shoulder. There was nothing he could do about it now. And then suddenly everything sped up to the right speed.
The stone flew forward and Skye saw it fly by her shoulder. At first he was relived, he could just find another stone to throw, but then his relief melted away in an instant. He saw a bit of bright red slide down her arm.
OH DAMN IT!!!! Skye shouted in his mind. He didn't realize he threw it that hard. But now, it looked like he had really injured her.
The girl suddenly squinted her eyes and then turned her head to her wounded shoulder. She scrunched her nose and clenched her teeth and looked at her shoulder.
"Ow…. What the hell? I go to sleep one minute and the next I'm being eaten alive…" She said irritably, but her voice flowed in a smooth manner. Her right hand touched her left shoulder right on the deep cut and her eyes suddenly became really wide. Skye could see the whites from where he was standing. She looked at her blood-soaked hand in horror. Skye saw her pale and lean back.
"HEY! WAIT! DON'T LEAN BACK SO-!" But Skye's warning was in vain. She just looked at him in more horror and leaned back farther until she started to slide of the branch. Skye saw in slow motion once again as her body weight shifted from the large branch to thin air. A sudden shriek rang out as she fell to the ground. Her body hit the ground with a loud "thud" and stayed motionless.
"Oh shit…" Skye muttered as he ran over to her. He saw a small amount of blood run down her face, and he paled more. And not just because he was afraid for her… now he would never be able to get that tree. And he didn't want to think about what OB would do to her if they found her. But his thought went back to the girl as he saw her chest was motionless, and the blood on her head kept gushing out. Her skin was paler than what he saw before. "Oh please don't tell me she's…"
